When we’re in a harder point of our lives, where the present is such a difficult point of our lives, where we can’t imagine how we could fathom being happy, we have a tendency to daydream about a better, happier future. That we’re trudging through such menial difficulty for a distant happiness not yet attainable. If you want peace, prepare for war, that kind of mindset. In any case, we tend to forget that happiness is also:
- jumping into a fresh set of pyjamas after showering - reminding someone that you love them for no reason - compliments from strangers - cleaning - happening upon a beautiful view of the sunset - running your problems away - cruising in your car with your favourite music - a warm hug - calling and catching up with a friend - watching someone make food for you - fish tofu Etc.
This book is a reminder that happiness is not just found anywhere but that it’s in your hands. If times are tough, books like these that remind you of the worlds fortunes can really uplift your day. Write down a bunch of things that makes you happy everyone!
Simply and well illustrated this book present 500 ways (activities, mind set, moment, etc.) to be happy. Just a feel good book that sometimes remind us that happiness can be found in very simple things and just bring us back to an easy way of living and living happily!
a fun little reread :) this is a nice reminder that there is happiness to be found in the tiniest, quietest, most mundane of moments. i’ve always thought of laughter and excitement and unmistakably ~fun~ activities when thinking of being happy, but that’s certainly not all there is.
happiness is…
realizing that you cut potatoes the same way your grandma does. walking next to someone. taking pictures of birds. putting on thick socks. having a bedtime routine. spending time together in a comfortable silence. going home after a concert. baking cookies. falling asleep with a cat curled up beside you. putting your bag down after a long day. figuring out a tough concept or problem on your own. catching up with old friends. trying new skincare products. writing reviews. accidentally matching outfits with people. achieving tiny goals. reading old cards. realizing that you’re smiling while messaging someone. looking at the sky. treating yourself - past, present, and future - with kindness.
:) loud and recognizable bits of happiness are great, but the quiet and understated moments are always there if you look for them.
A cute little book that made me smile and think of all the 5,000 ways to be happy. Why make it just 500? Amid all the hype over mindfulness, this book is just a reminder to enjoy what we have, right now, before the withering present becomes the past. My one regret is that I should probably read these books in color in print. Sigh.
Happiness is books. Happiness is seeing the person you love. Happiness is laughing until your stomach hurts. Happiness is new places. Happiness is Christmas. Happiness is good stories. Happiness is your favorite food. Happiness is writing. Happiness is seeing your favorite team. Happiness is inside jokes. Happiness is laughing with your parents. Happiness is coffee. Happiness is the night sky. Happiness is someone who understands. Happiness is courage. Happiness is pancakes.
Everything can be happiness if you let it. Big things, small things, things and not-things.
It's a lovely way to start a new year! This book helps me realize that happiness is a choice, not a destination. We can effortlessly find it anywhere, in any time, with anyone, as long as we have our hearts open and live in the moment.

A fun little book with cute pictures/illustrations about enjoying the moment, reminding you of how small, sometimes free and simple things can make you happy too. Just be in the moment, forget your complicated life problems just for a second, and be grateful and enjoy these small, precious moments.
Very cute and fun, very relatable, i do approve that most of the little things that mentioned in this book are indeed make me happy. Enjoyable and great for my weekend reads. I think this book is great for a gift too. :)♡
Such a sweet little book! I bought this book in New Zealand in 2016 and fell in love with the childlike, textured one-color illustrations and the simple phrases of happy moments. Their Instagram page and website are all cute - but having the printed little colored booklet is so fun! Just having them in a unique order reminds you of the many every day (or even big) moments you forget to be thankful for.
A great cheerful book about 500 ways we can enjoy the little and big things in life.
I found this to be a great read on a lazy afternoon. The artwork is absolutely adorable and cheers me up.
I would personally buy this for people who have made me happy at some point in their life, or people whose relationships I cherish. The reason is that a lot of what this book purports to be happiness is how my good relationships with friends and family came to be.
Reading this book as to accept the challenge of #Cabaran100MukaSurat by Bookends. Despite my busy schedule to settle down all final assignments and study for final exam, I did finish this book in one sitting.
It’s a simple book with illustrations. But the book didn’t fail to teach me for need to be more grateful and appreciate our small moments. Alhamdulillah ~
I am always encouraging others to appreciate the little things and that is what this book also encourages. I can relate to SO many of the tidbits in this book. It makes such great inspiration to observe the little bits of happy in my life. I could read this book every week. I love it! I follow her on social media and just had to buy the book.
