This book gets good points both for the hikes listed and the elevation profiles.
However, it has some issues that ultimately caused me to dislike it.
All of the hikes are out and backs, and I would have liked to have seen some more variety, perhaps loop hikes using side trails, or at least some options.
The maps are not very useful, they only show the main AT and parking, no side trails or intersections.
The trail descriptions themselves are measured by time, and not by distance. There's no way for me to tell how fast the author hikes, so his description of landmarks by writing "About 20 minutes into the hike" are mostly useless. If they'd been written by mileage, this book would have been at least 3 stars.
