I AM INCOMPLETE WITHOUT YOU by IAIN S THOMAS is, in my opinion, a very unique, in the words of the author, "Interactive Poetry Journal". If you look very closely, you will note that his name in NOT on the cover, very unusual but here's why. It's interactive so that means he is not the only author. You are his co-author and there is a space for you to write your name on the inside title page. How cool is that!
This book is so so much more than a poetry journal. Eah page poses a question or a statement and asks you to write your reply in the below space, of course either in poetry, if you so wish, or prose. For example, the second page asks you to answer a not so simple question... What was the sky like the first time you fell in love? Another entry asks you to write a poem about... The Ghost You Left Behind. Many of his questions are very thought-provoking. Like this one... What will you say to the love of your life when you're old and he or she will not hear every word you say?
I can imagine 100 uses for this book. Perhaps you're a writer and you are having a tough time coming up with the next big topic. Maybe you're going to a party and you're looking for a real tough ice breaker, something the group can sink their teeth into. Maybe you like to write and you enjoy responding to deeper topics. You may have a good friend that you'd like to send this book to; I know I do, that's my plan. Perhaps your friend is in a place in his or her life where he or she is doing some real soul-searching. This may be just the thing needed. Iain has put a lot of thought into this project. I have a good friend that I know will love this book and I think you will too!

November 22, 2016I love writing but it's hard for me to come up with prompts so this was the perfect book for me. Does anyone know other interactive poetry journals like this?

Iain is one of my favourite writers, and I don;t think it's a secret; his poetry and photos and even the novel he published are full of wisdom and love; there is something so deep about his art that makes you go within yourself and drown into who you are.
I took my time going through this paperback/journal and filling it with my paragraphs and poems in hopes to complete it. Even though I have left some pages blank for future use, I think 90% of it has been filled with myself; therefore its title has changed to I am complete with you.
The past month, with the help of Iain's thoughts and prompts, I have swum into my sea of self and discovered a bit more of who I am. I am have realised what my wishes are, what are the things I can act on today or tomorrow, and what I hope to live and experience fully. I have also come to terms and managed to forgive people because of what he directed me to write.
If you are in a place where you want to discover yourself and keep memories of who you were at the time, I definitely recommend this book. Art should drive us to become better; and I think this did just that.

If need some sort of motivation or inspiration to write, this will help you do just that. It helps open your mind and get in touch with the things that were once lost.

I received this through Good Reads Giveaways and I have really enjoyed using it; I think the prompts are thought provoking and amusing. It's great for anyone who wants to record their life but isn't really sure where to begin.

I bought this book twice actually. The first one i finished in 2017 and right now i started a new one. In the latter I’m answering all the questions to and about this one person.
