I just had to try and be a bad girl, didn't I? I blame Ethan. This is all his fault.
Rule #9 – We were never supposed to get this far. It was only supposed to be for a week. I don't even know what we're supposed to do now. I've never done this before.
"You ready for the ride of your life, Princess?" I ask her.
"You think you're that good, do you, Ethan?" Ashley counters.
Thankfully my dad's in the car with the window up, so he can't hear any of this.
"Better," I tell her, smirking. "You don't even know what you're getting into here."
"I think I have a pretty good idea..." she says, grinning uncontrollably and winking at me.
My dad rolls down the window. "What's the hold up?" he asks.
"Nothing," I say.
Yeah, well, that's it. Time for a road trip. We're going camping.
I still don't know how to tell my dad that I'm dating my stepsister. I don't know if I can ever tell him. He's already voiced his disapproval, whether he realizes it or not. With more and more people trying to interfere, it's getting harder to keep this a secret, though...

Camping & Tents
While I do love all of the insatiable steaminess between Ethan and Ashley, the surprising support and pragmatic approach from her mother really is inspiring. I also like the open and honest conversations they have, even when squirming ensues.
I listened to an author's copy of the audio book with CJ Bloom and James Cavenaugh leading the charge. Both are well suited for the characters. If there was one thing I could change, it'd be that the books were done in duet narration. Second thing I might change would be Ashley's mom's would only be voiced by James. CJ's version sounds more grandmotherly than a woman likely in her 40s.

Dad’s a problem, New Boy is a problem, Ashley is a problem.
“This shit doesn’t make sense. Am I not good enough for her? Does she want Caleb or something? To date him? And what the fuck is up with that ‘I don’t know what flirting’ is bullshit? How can she not know what flirting is? I seriously can’t even comprehend that statement.”
Same, Ethan, same! I feel like this is going to be a problem, and it’s making me nervous. Ashley is trying to be a bad girl, and honestly? Maybe she just shouldn’t, or it’s gonna kill Ethan… and me.

Ugh. Okay. This is where I part ways with the series. I'm just incredibly bored now.
The first season of this series was sexy and fun. Things between them were new and exciting and sweet; and the slightly forbidden element was there.
But this is the third book into the second season and I'm just SO bored of it. The pacing is incredibly slow, nothing is really happening. And the fact that her mom knows but not his dad is kind of awkward. I would almost have preferred neither of their parents to know still.
Also I'm getting really annoyed with Ashley in particular. She is dumb and naive and super insecure. She comes across as a total idiot despite the fact that every other page we are told she's "so smart". I really have never witnessed that about her.
Overall this book is just the last straw for me. It's boring and slow and nothing really happens. I'm done.

Dun, dun, dun..... Enter Caleb, the camp owners son and obviously you will get jealousy. Haha, poor Eathan. Although the push from Eathan's Dad for Ashley to have a "fling" is awkward. Lol
The entire situation is awkward, yet here I am, finished book 9. Ashley is very insecure, which personally I can understand as her last "boyfriend" was a major douche!
Definitely an addictive series. Haha

Camping with the Family . . .
The time has arrived for their road trip as they head off to enjoy the experience of family camping. While setting up, the camp owner's son, Caleb, shows some interest in Ashley. And Ethan’s dad seems to encourage her to see if the two could enjoy being together! Of course, Ethan is furious, but afraid his father will disapprove, he still hasn’t told him about his own feelings for Ashley. How long can they keep this secret? Will they find a solution for dealing with Caleb?
The Audible version continues to be narrated by: CJ Bloom and James Cavenaugh. They are bringing life into the story as they take on the personalities of the main characters. This story is certainly an emotional ride for the listener, but each segment adds more information or challenge and takes the listener on to eagerly press for the next part. I’m starting to wish we were given larger chunks of the story because it sometimes feel we are not making much progress.

Like an episode of a TV series episode 9 (part 9)
I really liked this slice of life. It was entertaining and enjoyable even though it's more like an episode of a TV show than a book. A book to me has a distinct beginning, middle, and end while this book just stopped. The characters were interesting and you got to hear from both of them. Ashley and Ethan have a couple of miscommunication/lack of communication issues. Ethan's dad blew me away and not in a good way (again!). This episode had my jaw dropping several times over some of the things that were said.
I thought the story was interesting but I wanted more. The narrators did an excellent job, especially because of the way the story is written, it's as if the characters were talking directly to you as the listener (or reader). It's smutty and short but good. I recommend listening to this audiobook (or reading the ebook).

This is book 9, season 2 in the Clark series StepBrother with Benefits with main characters Ashley and Ethan. The camping trip is finally here and getting there was half the fun! A great short read / listen that has perfect narration and is wonderfully balanced with sweet and steam! Definitely a series to be done in order! I love how far these main characters have grown and I love that they finally have a confidant and co-conspirator although it's weird who it is. I will also say that this book had me laughing out loud so hard! OMG the tent set up and Ethan's thoughts being played out is just too much - I loved it! Looking forward to seeing how the rest of this camping trip plays out and the new characters that are being introduced...

Ugh. Insecurity
Ashley is so annoying and insecure. I love Ethan, but I'm starting to get to a breaking point with Ashley and her constant need to get compliments from Ethan. They've had the same conversations for nine books now. I'm kind of missed because these novellas could be combined in to probably three full sized books, if it wasn't for the repetitive dialogue and inner monologue, but now I'm going on to Book 10. I'm starting to.Just skim through everything which takes away from my enjoyment as a reader, but Clark is dubious for releasing the.books this way. I still want to know what's going to happen next, so I guess it's on to Book 10 to skim through.

I enjoyed this one. It pretty much picks up where the last one left off. In this one, our characters get to start their camping trip and so we see the first part of that as they are in closer confines/perimeter of Ethan's dad who doesn't know anything about the two being together and doesn't seem like he would approve. There are quite a few hot, sexy times as Ethan and Ashley keep pushing boundaries and almost getting caught. We get to see them work through some more issues between themselves as they continue to build a relationship. It will be interesting to see how this camping trip works out.

On the way to the campgrounds, the couple are up to their normal shenanigans! These two cannot get enough of each other. The scenes are hot and steamy, and Ethan is becoming quite the Casanova! He seems to be able to say all the right things, but at the same time he still comes off as a jerk! What will happen though when the campground owner’s son seems to have a thing for Ashley and Ethan’s dad is all for Ashley having a little fun! I am still loving CJ Bloom and James Cavenaugh's narration, especially when Ms. Bloom does Ashley's mom's voice. I'm totally addicted to this series! In the ninth part of this love story, Ethan and Princess goes camping with their parents as they sneak around with each other, still hiding their love for each other from Ethan's father. But something happened on this family outing that leads Ethan to give Princess space to allow her to see if there is someone else out there besides him that she wants. This was a great reads.

Ethan and Ashley are finally going on that camping trip with their parents. Dad is still in the dark, so they have to be careful about everything they say and do. Tensions run even higher when Ashley gets unexpected attention. But the thing about fights is that the making up is totally worth it. And this installment ends on an incredibly sweet and spicy note.

This was a good continuation of the story. I think it added more depth to their relationship than you see previously. Even though he doesn't like it he'll let her make a decision on more experience or not.

Wonderful book and series!
I love Ashley's mom! This was a pretty darn sweet book in the series. Ashley and Ethan's love keeps getting stronger, but will there ever be avoid time to tell his dad? And now Caleb is butting in on their camping trip. Gotta love those twists.
