We are born with an innate curiosity to explore, marvel, and believe there is more to life. But, laundry piles up. Bills pile up. Ultimately, life piles up. We can doubt God’s goodness and the everyday becomes marked by restraint, limits, and settling for the routine. Hardship extinguishes our hope and we exchange curiosity for control.

It’s about exploring possibility with a God who is unlimited, unpredictable, and ever-loving. In these pages, Logan Wolfram invites you to overcome feelings and outside circumstances that inhibit growth and rob you of hope. Pursue curiosity to enjoy the wonder of an open-handed life.
Cultivate curiosity. Reignite your faith. Discover God’s goodness to fully experience your life again.

Have you ever finished a book that you didn't want to end and feel like you need to begin re-reading it immediately? Curious Faith is one of those books for me. I started reading it several month ago, but set it aside a few weeks later because it was hitting to close to home regarding some areas of crisis that were developing in my personal life. I needed to read Logan Wolfram's words, but I didn't necessarily want to hear them. I picked it back up once again a few weeks ago, and it couldn't have been more perfect timing.
In Curious Faith, Wolfram shares her journey of becoming more curious about God and the life paths He was leading her down. She writes with enthusiastic passion, gentle instruction, and accessible vulnerability--particularly in sharing her experiences with miscarriage and infertility. She encourages her readers to think outside the box of preconceived ideas about how God works.
Curious Faith is about rediscovering hope in the midst of trials and tragedies.
The author talks about the heart wrenching grief of loosing babies.
We are reminded too that the brokenness and devastation of the planet can no more be put in a neat man made box anymore than God can be put into that man made box.
It is important that we remember that we serve a God who can do more than put Band-Aids over wounds. Wolfman reminds us that we need to start expecting greater things from God.
We are reminded too that a Curious Faith is a mobile one.
Curious Faith encourages to grow deeper in our faith even during trying times.
This book works well for either individual or a group study.
There were so many places in A Curious Faith that I had marked and underlined...as though Logan was writing my story as well as her own. "The identity that the Lord has for me is clear, even if His plans for my life aren't. H calls me by name, redeems the regrettable in my life and gives me new purpose."
As someone who has struggled to believe the truth of who I am in Christ instead of the lies...this book helps bring clarity and focus and also that sense that I am not alone in this struggle. So often we see other Christians as "having it all together"...and that somehow makes my walk seem like it is falling apart. Logan humbly shares her difficult moments and allows the reader to feel like the path we are on is ok. We all stumble, but we have a gracious God that wants the best for us.
Get this book. It was encourage and challenge you!
I really enjoyed this book. Honesty, wisdom and laughter are all present in this book. Logan talks about the difficult and hard things and how to really lean and rest fully in God and His promises. He is good. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are, He is good. And she repeats this over and over. Recommend this highly for anyone who has walked thru a difficult time and wondered how to keep your faith, anyone who is new to the faith and anyone who has been in the church so long you forget how to keep your faith. Logan cracks open the masks and places we don't go and shows us what we might be missing.
Enjoyed the book, but the story that stuck with me most was quoted from another book Radical Hospitality by Lonnie Platt about not selling your onions too fast. The moral of the story was to not overlook the goodness when you are waiting. Focus on the blessings during the process, not solely on the outcome.
I like this book. Faith is something I am still working through in my own life. Wolfram takes you on a journey to discover what your faith is and being creative in how you get it back in your life. I found this book helpful in my own journey. I think it will be to many other women.
"No matter the giants you face, you are destined to be victorious. Your faith in Christ has positioned you to be an overcomer ... a strong and mighty warrior who takes lands and walks in promise. The life you live is shaped by your present capacity to believe the truth of God's goodness for you. Do you believe that He is good and that He is for you? Will you spend a lifetime in pursuit of the hope found only in Him? This is your present and your future. The certainty of our faith isn't found in where we're going but in the One we're following. This is living with curious faith."
A bit of a memoir, Curious Faith explores how the author has brought curiosity into her spiritual life to build her faith and trust in a higher power.
She recounts her story, as well as others, throughout the book as examples of how curiosity offers a way to move through the details of everyday life - the ups, the downs, the losses, the gains, etc.
It's a lovely book, well-written and easy to move through. While I don't subscribe to many of the author's perspectives about prayer and duality, I found her take on 'curious faith' to be right on.
A real look at faith, trust, and living life the way God wants you to live it: trusting him with a curious faith. While I still struggle with coming to terms with some of the concepts the author presents, this was a good read for me to evaluate, explore, and see where I'm at in my life and spiritual walk with Christ.
3.5 stars really. Very focused on Logan's personal story, but she does attempt to stretch her points to other possibilities that might exist in the lives of others in how to overcome pain, loss, and heartache to live a satisfying and adventurous life in the midst of it all. I listened to the audio book, which was adequately read by the author.
In need of encouragement? Want to be reminded of the good God you fell in love with? Follow along as Logan provides real life stories which provide hope and remind you that the God we serve is intentional, purposeful, and He's never failed to keep a promise.
Indeed it’s a must read for those who are new in faith in Christ. This book will challenge and encourage new curious faith and to rediscover hope in the God of possibility.
A good read to kick off the new year! All about pursuing faith with curiosity and placing our trust outside of ourselves in order to realize the hope in our relationship with God.
This book rocked my summer! It's a great book for small group or just to read on your own. If you need a jump start to your relationship with the most amazing creator who loves and knows you then you need to get your hands on this book!
Logan shares her life, her losses, and her aspirations in A CURIOUS FAITH. The book challenges its readers to let go and allow God free reign in the writing of their story.
Principles all of us (deep down) know are brought back to surface for pondering and taking action. Wolfram encourages her reader to live in the present - to learn from the past - and not to take the future too seriously.
"Sometimes being wildly obedient really just means being consistently obedient." pg 208
Not in these exact words, but "doing the next thing," with courage, is a theme woven into the pages of Curious Faith. The book includes a study guide, complete with projects and talking points for your small group studies.
“Are we missing the manna God provides to sustain us for each day?”
I love the question and I have to say that I also loved the book. Logan’s writing is a challenge of awareness, a call to wake up and to look for God, to rescue the here and now of our lives. The book was very personal, relying heavily on the author’s own story of faith as inspiration, and it was inspirational. If you are the type of person who hears someone share their own faith story and thinks “that’s just crazy” then this book probably isn’t for you. If you are someone who loves the diversity of the ways that God meets people and inspires them to pant for His streams of living water in their own life, then you may love it as much as I did.
Logan quotes authors from a faith movement that you may or may not be comfortable with, however, I personally found this book to be well balanced. The emphasis on faith and hope and expectation was beautifully offset by a strong humility before the sovereignty and goodness of God in suffering and pain. I also loved the author’s honesty as she spoke about things that she thought that she had heard from God, how it sometimes turned out differently than she had thought it would and how it moved her not to disillusionment, but to curiosity. What was God up to in her life? It was real and honest and avoided both the extremes of believing we have it all figured out and believing that we can’t hear from God.
All in all this book was an exploration of the goodness of God and how we can walk in curiosity and the expectation of seeing His goodness unfold in our own lives and in the world around us. I found it to be an uplifting read.
“The exploration of His goodness will rewrite our stories and breathe new life into us.”
I received a free digital galley of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Four year's ago I had never heard of Logan Wolfram. That all changed, however, in the fall of 2012 when I decided to give this blogging thing a try. I had very little knowledge of the blogging world and when I ran across this conference called Allume which Logan and her team put on for bloggers...I signed-up. Logan's a Southern gal who ooozies God's love for others. She has a gift for making a whole room full of strangers feel welcome. She speak's truth and writes with the conviction of one who's been there and done that.
I'm excited to tell you a little about Logan's first book Curious Faith.
Review: We are born with this natural curiosity to discover, learn, and explore, but something happens as we grow into adults and life begins to demand much from us. Jobs, bills, family, friends, church, etc., and suddenly that curiosity that was so plentiful when we were children suddenly gets pushed to the back burner. We begin to question God's goodness...if this is all there is...and we settle for routine.
Logan helps us to once again explore the unlimited possibilities that God has for us. She invites us to overcome feelings and circumstances that stunt our growth and rob us of hope. Logan will help you discover the plans and purposes that God is waiting for you to engage in with Him.
Logan has poured her heart into writing this book...she has written with conviction and passion. If you are looking to reignite and rediscover all the curious and wondrous things that God is waiting to show you then grab a copy of this amazing book and get ready for an adventure that only God can give.
A great book. I highly recommend this thought provoking read.
I 'met' Logan online before I met her in real life at Allume. She is one of the most genuine, authentic people I've ever met and she makes you want to live that kind of life!
Reading Curious Faith is like enjoying a slow meal with a close friend, with only a table between you.
Logan writes the way she talks, with all of that Southern charm and laugh out loud honesty. But don't be fooled... she can make you cry with the best of them, too!
Her candid style of telling it like it is when it comes to living out a faith that has learned to embrace a bit of the unknown, that is bold enough to doubt, and brave enough to hold on when all you want to do it let go and give up --well, reading her journey just may enable you to live out yours with a little less fear, and a bit more freedom!
I’m still finishing up the last chapters of this book, but it certainly has come to me at the right time. I’m immediately drawn to any book with the word ‘curious’ in the title (for obvious reasons), but add the topic of Christianity on top of that and I’m all in! I have been gleaning so much from it and copying out large passages of quotes. This definitely is a great book to start the new year off right. Worry, waiting, fear, control, decision making, spiritual dryness, and disappointment are a part of every human’s life. But in the context of a curious following after God, how do we deal with these everyday things well? How do we endure and trust with joy and childlike faith? I think if you have these questions, you will enjoy author Logan Wolfram. She writes simply yet eloquently. She has really helped to make has certain Scripture come alive for me. I can’t wait to finish this and highly recommend it to my sisters (or even brothers) in Christ!
Full disclosure: I received an e-galley copy for NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was heavily bookmarked by this reviewer. Ms. Wolfram explains in her book about curious faith and our journey to growth. This happens when we “stop trying to control our lives and start living them with a hunger for heaven.” p. 23
Ms. Wolfram is the executive director of Allume, a conference for Christian bloggers and writers. It is held each year around October in Greenville, South Carolina. Ms. Wolfram tells of her obedience and trust in God to work in her life and this conference.
She also writes of margins, or making space in our lives to create breathing room.
The back of this book also includes a study guide to aid in self-study or small group discussions.
Recommended for small groups and public libraries.
I'm in an odd stage in my faith journey right now, and because I seem to be in a wrestling season, I have decided to take an open stance in reading other people's thoughts on faith. To borrow a phrase from Sarah Bessey, I try to read these types of books with as a critical thinker without having a critical spirit.
The thing I appreciated most about this book was Wolfram's uninhibited vulnerability. I appreciate her steadfast belief that God is good despite and in the middle of every circumstance. It's a message I need to hear over and over, and I know many, many people who would gain strength, insight, and encouragement from this book.
I enjoyed this book. The author opened up about her own faith journey by sharing personal stories in a way that made her feel like my new best friend. I laughed out loud about her experiences with tattoos: from the ladybug that grows with pregnancy to the Christian tramp stamp (read the book!), they were a delight to read. She also shares painful experiences about miscarriage and a friends diagnosis while pregnant.
Along the way I have to say I learned a thing or two. And instead of having an AHA moment while reading a dry book about Christianity, I enjoyed having my curiosity expanded in new ways.
I recommend that you read this book. You'll find soo much to treasure in it!
I read a lot of Christian nonfiction. It is rare that I read a book that keeps me turning the pages and keeps me coming back for more. Logan's friendly tone, humble vulnerability, and witty humor accomplished just that. I looked forward to reading the next chapter like I look forward to having a deep conversation with a close friend. Though I have never lost a child, I could totally relate to Logan's description of loss and her searching for God in the midst of suffering. This book renewed my passion to curiously pursue the treasures of God. I highly recommend this to anyone as an engaging and inspiring read.

Logan Wolfram has written her story in a charming and challenging way that causes the reader to embrace her down to earth wit and sarcasm and good friend personality. Life is messy and she doesn’t mind telling her part of it.
But then, Logan takes the reader past the realities of life to the supernatural limitless power of the Holy and stands there in awe of the One who is ultimately after only one thing in us. Our heart for Him.
This book is exactly what I needed! Which, I'm sure if you're in a spiritual lull, you'll say the same thing. Logan Wolfram refreshes your faith in a way that makes it feel natural, not forced. You walk away from this book with a sense of purpose, your faith is renewed, you have an inquisitive mind about the bible and God, and you dive into learning as much as possible just as you did when you learned it for the first time. This is a book that I will keep and read over and over, throughout the years when I need that extra bit of refreshing.
