Clarissa N. Goenawan

Clarissa Nathania Goenawan is an Indonesian-born Singaporean writer. She studied novel-writing with Curtis Brown Creative and was a mentee in the WoMentoring Project. Her short stories have won several awards and been published in various literary magazines and anthologies.

Her first novel Rainbirds won the 2015 Bath Novel Award (UK), and was shortlisted for the 2015 Dundee International Book Prize (UK), the 2015 SFWP Literary Award (US), and the First Novel Prize 2016 (UK). It will be published in late 2017 by Soho Press.

A Life Out of Key by Aesa Strand Vidarsdottir (Iceland) was an excellent story, but most of the rest were not very interesting.
