This is Rachel the day after everything changes, the Rachel who’ll feel different for a while. The attack in the warehouse district has her scared and afraid to leave her home. She’s consoled herself with thoughts of her nameless vampire, a creature strong as stone and cold as snow swooping in to save her from anything that might ever hurt her again. After who knows how many days spent holed up in her apartment, she hears those two precise knocks on her door, the sound she’s been waiting to hear. The sound that announces her vampire’s arrival.
The sound that means she finally gets to learn his name.
R.M. writes beautifully with some gorgeous analogies, and insight into both her characters, and insightful observations of life in general. Having said that, I feel her work often lacks areas of creativity which ultimately gives her work a generic essence.
Her characters are realistic and offer the reader areas of both recognition and empathy. And wow, lots to say about the values some friendships both give and burden us with. Definitely true ups and downs. Isn’t it a shame, that sometimes you really wish you could turn around and say ‘none of your business’? Ah ha, this is the difference between friends and family!
The main character’s love for our main man aka vampire, leaves a bit of a question mark. In love, kissing and cuddling – but hey, there’s a big ‘if’ left in the empty area that should spell ‘sex’. What happened here? Lost me. Definitely going on to the next book.
Okay so Mia is hovering after her attack, and poor Rachel just wants to be with her vampire....sighs!
She is so wound tight after her attack, it reminds me of the Twilight movies when Bella just stares out her window because Edward is gone, vanished, disappeared. I feel so bad for her emotionally because all she does is waits...but on a lighter note, the sexy stone vampire has a name... AND he came back for Rachel. Their relationship is blooming when.... Well i'm not going to give it away - you will just have to read to find it out...because trust me, it is worth the 49 pages. Every word, every phrase!
ALSO, after reading part #2 of Till Death, I have to say that Mr. Sexy Coffee man is SO NOT MY FAVORITE! You will find out why...
R.M Webb has a fluid writing style that makes you picture exactly what she's trying to convey to her readers... 5 stars, hands down!!!
