ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

This is a book perfect for the fans of E.L. James, Sylvia Day and generally, the fans of the erotically charged genre.
Maya is an artist that has been forced to take on a secretarial position because she cannot go anywhere with her art at the moment. She is nervous but on her first day she realizes that her job is rather...mundane. She is bored and she craves challenge. Her first day will further convince her that a job in an office is not for her.
She meets the elusive and extremely attractive Daniel Foster, the man that every woman in the company craves. He is rude and Maya knows that he is trouble when he makes it known that he is very interested in her.
It doesn't take him long to proposition her and Maya is unable to say no. The attraction is deep and dangerous when Daniel proves to be controlling and domineering. Their relationship is based on their physical connection and Maya cannot help the feeling that he is hiding a big secret.
He is cold and hot, confusing the life out of Maya who herself hasn't had the best experience with men.
When Dan's true identity is revealed, can their fragile relationship be salvaged?
I liked the writing. The book is detailed and well written. The story was a bit predictable to me and while I was waiting for the revelation to come as a big shock, it kind of fell flat for me.
I had a difficult time connecting with Maya, mainly because she kept contradicting herself when it came to Dan. She didn't like his behavior but she kept coming back to him. I get it. She was attracted to him, but to me Dan didn't do anything to be so attractive. Yes, he was handsome and charming on the outside, but his behavior was like a child whining because he wanted his toy right now.
I like possessive heroes. In fact, I adore them, but here I felt like Dan simply expected Maya to do anything he told her while she didn't know anything about him.
I needed a bit development before we jumped right into their intimate relationship. I wanted some conflict.
On the other hand, I liked that the author touches one of our society's problems with this story. If you read it you will understand what I mean. I don't want to spoil anything.
Overall, I enjoyed the book despite the things that didn't work for me. I am very curious about the next book.

Jodi Ellen Malpas has found someone who very much likes her books. Even the cover is reminiscent of 'This Man' Series.

The heroine, MAYA, who lost her verve for her passion (painting), gets hired to work a menial job at for a construction tycoon. From the moment they set eyes on each other, he invades her life. He has a BSDM background, and she has a background where she let people stomp all over her self-esteem.

The hero, Dan, did so many things to push her limits that it seemed over the top for her to be with him. With the kind of past relationships she had, I cannot reconcile that Maya would let Dan do the things he did to her sexually. She was damaged by a control freak but she let's her boss completely railroad her all the time!! Then he abandons her a bunch of times too without explanation.

Ok so maybe someone with self-esteem issues WOULD let a gorgeous sexy dude play her. But the BSDM shit doesn't seem remotely plausible in this scenario.

Despite the roller coaster, ON/OFF, HOT/COLD ride he gives, she continually returns to him, and does so without answers to her questions, which he continual averts. After shutting her out for a week, he saves her from her abusive ex only to bring her home to spank the shit out her??? HUH??? Then she reveal to him her abusive past and he in return says NOTHING???? HUH???

SO she puts up with all this shit until the big reveal, which, in my opinion doesn't pack enough punch to be cliffhanger worthy, when she calls it quits. But wait!!! It makes no sense! She admitted to him that her sister was horrible to her when they were kids. In this so-called big reveal, Dan admits that her sister did this to him too. He also reveals who he is and how he was abused as a child by his family. To the point of trying to kill himself at the age of 10!! Her response to this is to dumps him??? HUH??? After taking all that shit from him throughout the story, she decides to dump him because he knew who she was??? Bullocks~!

I really find that this book could have done without the BSDM, because it really doesn't fit! I know its trendy to write about this stuff, but sometimes its just not fucking necessary! All this "don't talk" "I'm in control" "I own you"... blah blah blah... Just didn't work in this scenario. For a girl with that kind of past, I really didn't see how she could enjoy it. And frankly I didn't believe her even through the writing.

I really liked Dan, and Maya, but I felt like I was lacking on their depth as people. I found that Maya led a really pointless life up until she started painting again. She just seemed a bit vapid? Not sure... She was just missing an angle, a habit, a pass time, SOMETHING!!! She doesn't cook, she doesn't exercise, she doesn't shop, she has no pets, she just lacks SOMETHING!!

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

It's been a while and apparently my memory just keeps getting worse! So I'm doing a re-read before I get into the final book of the series.
____________________________________________________
I went into this story blind, which is unusual for me. I'm glad I did as it made the read that much more fun and not to mention, it upped the suspense factor in the book. Maya is a struggling artist who takes a position as a secretary to pay the bills. We know she's had some stuff go on in her past that have caused her to have painters block. Daniel Foster is the CEO of the company Maya works for and he takes a sudden interest in her. He comes onto her hard and fast. He conveniently shows up where she goes for lunch or for coffee breaks. Maya doesn't fall for it right away but she does give into his persistence rather easily.

These two main characters were definitely interesting... in fact the whole story line was! I enjoyed the writing, which was refreshing and fast paced. This sort of reminded me of the This Man series (love), as Dan tends to use sex to extract information from Maya and get his way. Both Maya and Dan have secrets, but as Maya comes clean with Dan about her past he does not do the same. In fact, the story ends on a pretty big cliffhanger and now I'm wanting to know what happens in the second book!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I'm a huge fan of 50 Shades of Grey and thought this book was a great addition to the genre. When I first started, I thought the story lines were gonna be the same but I was proven wrong. I'm always a sucker for the wealthy business man with issues instantly falling for the average girl and this had a great spin. Maya is likeable from the beginning because she seems so real.

Maya takes a job as a secretary bc the area she lives in is pricy. She's an artist going through a period of painter's block. She meets her mean boss (Daniel Foster) the first day after having an awkward phone conversation and intrigues him.

After discovering a sketch Maya scribbled while at work, Dan expresses interest and wants to take her out. He believes she sees something that others cannot. When Dan isn't at work, he seems almost normal but seems to be keeping secrets. He expects Maya to be open and often pushes too far but always shuts down Maya's attempt to do the same.

As their relationship develops, I was able to see that Dan has many different sides to him that kept me wondering exactly who he was. As the book was brought to a close, it was plain to see that something was going on within him. I didn't know what it was til we end with the shocker I didn't see coming. I read this book in one day and am kicking myself for not letting it last longer. Definitely recommend and I look forward to reading more from Mandy Lee!

2 ⭐️⭐️ Stars! Ugh! This book annoy the fuck out of me! The heroine was immature. I've encountered more maturity in 17 year olds than her and she is 26! Grow the fuck up already. I normally like the push and pull but in this case it was annoying and ridiculous. I couldn't see why he liked her. And what her sister did to her was unforgivable. I didn't get how after avoiding her sister for all the years of her terrorizing her as a kid then all of a sudden she forgave her? What the fuck? She terrorized him too when they were kids! He hurt himself as a result of how terribly he was treated!! That bitch should have been drawn and quartered! Instead in one paragraph she told her sister alls forgiven??what?? I didn't have the drive to read the next book in the series, seemed like waste of time to me. The hook was not there.

*It was a terrible knock off of This Man series and it definitely missed the mark. She was no Ava and Jesse is irreplaceable. It's really a 1 star, I gave 2 stars because of the hero.

I love this story. It's like a mix of my 3 favorite books Fifty Shades, This Man and Crossfire, but still is original and very well written.

description

I loved the hero so much. Daniel Foster is a true alpha, dominant, possessive, kinky, sexy and rich. He owns a big construction company in UK. He's 35...my favorite age for the hero.

Maya Scotton is a 26 years old painter, she graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a lot of praises about her talent. But something happens to her and she stops painting, loosing her inspiration. So she moves to London with her best friend and finds a job as secretary at the Foster Construction.

What can I say, Daniel has my ovaries exploding the whole time...he's a kinky bastard!!
description

Maya on the other hand frustrated me a lot...sometimes she acts like a brat. Like in the end of the first book, her reaction was excessive and stupid...I would have hugged the hell of Dan after his confession. I hope she does something, I don't want him to chase her this time.

Jumping on book 2!!

This was quite different from any other erotica book that I read. When I say I mean the storyline it quite unique and that is refreshing. The two main chacrters are something else I haven't seen that type of banter in a while. The book intrigued me from the very start and I could not put it down. Its full of mystery that is Daniel Foster but the heroine as well has some skeletons of her own. Daniel is in his mid-thirties Tall, blond handsome man with specific tastes. Which is why everyone is shocked when He starts to obsess over artist turned secretary Maya Scotton. Maya is artist struggling with painter's block she hasn't been able to a paint brush to paper in a while. That is until Dan starts to peel back her layers one at a time. Like I said there is a lot of mystery surrounding Daniel Foster. Maya trying to get to the core of it once she thinks she has everything is blown to pieces. Be warned I forgot this was going to be a trilogy so I was upset nationally of how it ended. Talk about a cliffhanger so prepare yourselves and take a crazy ride that is Dan's and Maya's relationship.

I adore this book. I really like the writing, it has a good flow.

The Story:
Maya, a young artist that hasn’t painted in the last few years, has to take on a job as a secretary in a construction company to pay her bills.
As soon as her boss lays his eyes on her, he's determined to get her into his bed and even though Maya tries her best to shake him off, there is no chance for him to let her go as soon as he takes a hold on her. With each day Maya spends with Daniel, her feelings grow for him and as her heart begins to play a part in it, she notices that she doesn't even know this guy. How can she even have feelings for someone she doesn’t know? Maya has to decide if she can trust Daniel and if she wants to be pulled into his dark and mysterious life.

Thoughts:
I love this book, especially because after some first similarities to FSOG and Crossfire it turned into something of its own. I wouldn’t say that it’s bad to start a story that’s similar to other books because you kind of know beforehand what sort of story this probably is and the best stories are those that turn into something of their own, just like this one.
So this is a book I recommend to readers who enjoyed FSOG and Crossfire.
I see similarities of books like a road. It’s like traveling on the same road but on another lane and then there is an exit and you take it onto another street. Sometimes the street is not far off from the one before and sometimes it goes in a complete different direction.

Now, to get me back on tracks of this book, let me tell you that I marked so much in this book and wrote down so many notes that I would love to discuss them all with you but it would be too much and there would just be spoilers. So you have to get on without them, but I will list a few down below. =))

The ending:
At first everything in this story moved too fast for my liking but at the end everything made much more sense to me.
And then I was like WTF? Noo! Don’t leave a reader like me hanging like this!! I need to know how it continues!
Oh gosh. I knew something was up but I did not see this coming until almost at the end of the book. I’m so curious about how they will go on after everything that happened and that’s revealed.

!!! spoilers ahead !!!

Things I loved and stuff I didn't like so much:
Maya's a sweet character but she let Daniel get away with everything. She always turned into pudding when he's around. She often thought about fighting him and to tell him no but as soon as he laid eyes on her or touched her, she melted and couldn’t even say anything against what he wanted to do to her or with her.
He always had stupid reasons to get her to tell him what he wanted to know and he never took no for an answer. I was not a huge fan of him forcing his will onto Maya all the time.
And Maya gave up way to often or rather always and much too soon when she asked him something and he didn’t want to answer her. I got really frustrated with her and wanted to yell in her face because why he is always allowed not to answer but she is forced to answer, I don’t know. He always either spanked or fucked her until she spilt the beans.

He slowly brings her into submission without her noticing what she is getting herself into. I really hated that about him. Compliance, control, defiance, punishment. Did she ever agree to it? He says that it’s all part of the deal. I say its bullshit.
When he spanked her for doubting him, I was furious and in the end I just thought, what irony.

But when Daniel wasn't commanding her for once I think he's really sweet and I really enjoyed reading this book especially at around 60% when she jumped out of his driving jag.
Clive has grown on me then at the Seven Dials scene and I loved his character as well as Lucy’s and Norman’s.

Oh and I loved the scene before Maya and Daniel started strolling to the office when he looked at the couple passing by and holding hands and he looked at his hand before he took her hand in his. I really wanted to know what he was thinking there when he was looking at his hand. His POV would be so interesting. I would definitely read it.

What creeped me out:
When Daniel suddenly woke her up in her bed in the middle of the night after she told him that he scares her and she doesn’t want to see him again. He was so full of himself. He just woke her to have sex with her and force her to be with him again.

And why was he always shushing her?? I got so angry at him all the time. And is it just me or is the word capiche not a nice word? I hate this word because it accepts no answer. It’s the worst word of all words.

He always told her that if she doesn’t want to do something, they didn’t have to do it. But when she said no he still did it. I know that she had a safeword and could have used it but still, a no is a no.

When Maya takes an admin job in a big construction firm, her best friend Lucy jokes that she's going to bag herself a millionaire. Maya scoffs at the idea, but no sooner has she turned on her computer than she seems to have attracted the attention of her very handsome, and very rich, boss, Dan Foster. Things get very steamy, very quickly and soon Dan is introducing Maya to BDSM. Maya doesn't like relinquishing control, but Dan demands total submission and soon she finds herself enjoying it. While things seem to be going well, Dan has a tendency to blow hot and cold. Is he the love of Maya's life, or another terrible mistake?

You Don't Know Me is a really well written romance with a feisty female lead who I really liked. Many of the erotic romances I've read can be summed up as a series of sex scenes with minimal story in between. This is not the case here, where the story line is actually very good and would hold up even without the erotic elements. Maya, Lucy and Dan are well developed characters and there are various subplots which keep the action going outside of the bedroom.

What I didn't like quite as much was the way that Dan 's domination of Maya was portrayed. There were several cases where Maya wasn't sure she wanted to do something, Dan talked her into it with promises of stopping when she used her safe word, but the general feeling that I took away from it was "I know better than you what you'll like so just do it and you'll see." That's a particular bugbear of mine, and to me it read like Maya was being coerced. The fact that she ultimately enjoyed them is, for me, beside the point. That's a personal issue, and not all readers will feel that way.

The ending managed to surprise me, which is not something that happens often. I saw some of it coming, but was still surprised at how it played out. I'm really interested to see where things go in the next instalments.

If I gave half ratings, then this would be a 3.5. If erotic fiction is your thing, you could do a lot worse.

Ok so I started this book not knowing anything about it I like going in blind. Let me just say I’ll never do that again.

Maya Scotton, a young artist with a severe case of painter’s block, is in need of money. When she takes on an office job at a construction company,

I know what is going through your mind

And you are half right. So yes she gets the job and yes then she finds her self in the sight of the owner Daniel Foster. So he’s hot. He’s dangerous and he has a very dark past with how shall we say this he likes particular things done in bed.

Ok so Maya she does try to resist him. But I mean lets be honest, hot guy, making your panties wet. Just give in!

Things get steamy. It was only a matter of time.

While he slowly encourages her to paint again, she begins to peel back his layers.

I liked the way this story flowed. Everything was on point and all questions were answered. The storyline however was predictable so I wasn’t shocked and all the while we all knew that there was this deep secret coming. I mean people it’s a series.

And while I did like Maya I felt at time that she was wishy washy. She was just going back and forth. Mena you either like him or you don’t!

At last, when she believes that she's finally come to understand his ways, he has one final secret to reveal … and it's a secret that threatens to blow them apart.

Luckily for us the wait is almost over book 2 is less than a month away

I got totally engrossed in this story of love, sex and secrets, and on reaching the end – a cliffhanger par excellence – I just had to order the next book in Ms Lee’s trilogy. A warning – the less-than-broadminded may want to give this a miss, for it contains lashings (sorry) of mildishly ‘kinky’ sex described in detail, though in a completely natural way that I thought worked really well.

So, we have Maya Scotton, a blocked artist hurt by past men in her life, who applies for a job she is totally unsuited for, whereupon she is wooed by her big bad boss Daniel Foster, aka Mr Hot Mean and Moody. We see everything through Maya’s eyes as her head battles the desire she feels towards her enigmatic, muscular and well endowed employer. OK, this may sound like some middleaged woman’s fantasy but it is highly entertaining, trust me. The down-to-earth, precise way in which Maya’s adventures are described and the natural sounding dialogue make this admittedly somewhat unlikely situation feel quite believable. There are wonderful shades of romantic comedy too in the early stages, when Maya is trying unsuccessfully to fend off Mr HMM from top-floor shenanigans.

But the novel darkens as Daniel entices Maya into the pleasures of BDSM (her safe word is ‘coffee’). We see the push-pull of Maya’s attraction tempered by her fear of getting hurt – in more than one sense - by her control freak boss. (Her coming on to him/running away is understandable though I can imagine Maya’s proclivity for changing her mind may make her infuriating to some - male? readers.) Maya’s artistic talent brings depth to her character and is part of a thread leading back into her childhood, when she was set upon by her bullying sister...

The mystery and suspense ratchet up as you turn the pages, with ominous hints of the damage inflicted on Daniel from as yet unknown origins, along with mysterious men from Maya’s past. Highly recommended for readers of women’s suspense, romantic suspense and erotic romance – and I imagined plenty of men too might be tempted to peek into this book.

4 Stars!

A brand new author is on the block ladies and gentlemen. She is English and definitely has a flair for writing. She definitely hooked me with this first book in her hot new trilogy and I cannot wait to dive deeper into this series and see where the author takes us.

Sexy. Intense. Passionate. Consuming.

I liked this book. From the beginning, I was captivated by this story. With a very Fifty Shades and Crossfire feel to this book, we are taken on an erotic journey full of twists and turns that will have you hanging on until the very last word... still wanting more.

Secrets. Lies. Deception. Motive.

This is the beginning of Maya and Dan's story. Maya is a talented artist trying to make ends. When she takes a new job as a secretary of sorts, she doesn't know what to expect but it certainly isn't her boss' boss that makes her blood boil and question everything.

Twists. Turns. Suspense. Mystery.

Dan is the man who wants Maya and he makes it known. He is an enigma... and definitely a dominant of sorts. As the story unfolds, layers are peeled back... some predictable and some totally unexpected. And that ending... oh yes! I cannot wait for the next book.

I recommend this book.

Maya and Daniel...love them so far. Their relationship began pretty early on which is always a plus. This book has it all, strong, handsome alpha male, beautiful strong heroine, good storyline, secondary characters, erotic sex, very steamy (BDSM light with her), no cheating, no threesomes. It took some time to familiarize myself with the British phrases and dialogue but once I caught on I enjoyed it, always happy to learn something new. There is swearing and it's appropriate for this type of read, it's not over the top or overbearing, perfect. There is a cliffhanger, a good one in fact, a twist I never saw coming but book 2 is out and I immediately downloaded it. I love Mandy's writing style, she makes it so you can visualize everything as if you've been there. The description of Maya's paintings are so detailed, I could see it before me. There's plenty of dialogue to be a part of their story as opposed to reading about it. I look forward to see what happens next. I recommend this to everyone who loves a good love story and with very steamy sex, it's hot!

first let me say that i was a bit skeptical when i heard it was like Fifty Shades of Gray, but once i really started to read, i found the nuances of Gray that everyone hold near and dear. I really liked this book from beginning to end and can't wait to get the next book to see what happens next. i was held on to edge of my seat when i just knew something deep was going on with Dan, more than what was being let on, that title of awareness just below the surface just waiting to be set free and then it was and it was magical! The writing was well executed, the pace was just right. the characters were wonderfully descriptive and the flow kept the book moving along at a sweet pace. I really can't wait to read the next in the series. Keep them coming Ms. Lee!

This is the first story I read from this author and OMG what an amazing story from Maya and Dan, once you start reading you can't stop till it's finished.

If you loved reading FSOG than you must read this story because it has more than the BDSM.
It's an refreshing storyline and the atmosphere between Maya and Dan is amazing you also see these two people grow in the relationship.

A definitly MUST READ I know I can't wait for the next story.

YOU DON'T KNOW ME by MANDY LEE is the first book in the YOU DON'T KNOW ME trilogy. I loved this book from the start. Mandy Lee has captivated me with this unique, romantic, mysterious, erotic, sometimes humorous, love story. It is erotic, but offers so much more. This story takes many twists and turns, and has a very unexpected ending. Mandy Lee has written a beautiful love story about two people who are haunted by a troubled past.

Maya Scotton is a young, beautiful artist, who has lost her passion for painting. She is forced to take a secretary position at a construction business to pay the bills. On her first day she has a chance encounter with the jaw dropping handsome owner of the company, Dan Foster. Their first meeting did not go well and she was so afraid that he would fire her. Boy was she surprised when he started showing a surprising interest in her. Very troubling relationships in Mayas past has caused her to be extremely cautious, but Dan has definitely got her attention.

Daniel Foster is the CEO of a hugely successful construction business, FOSTER CONSTRUCTION. He is amazingly handsome, sexy hot, successful, very rich, and has a disturbing dark past. Relationships are not his cup of tea, so when he finds himself deeply interested in the new secretary, he is in uncharted territories.

Maya and Dan find themselves in a very steam relationship where the chemistry is off the charts. Maya knows that she is in over her head and tries to resist him, but the temptation is just too great. When Dan's friends start to warn her that he will hurt her, she gets scared and tries her best to distance herself and break things off. Only Dan is clearly not going to stop until he gets what he wants.

Their on again, off again hot, hot, hot relationship will draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat. Dan has given her the confidence she needs to start painting again and he is happier than he has been in a very long time. Even Dan's friends start to believe their relationship could have a happy ending. But just when you think they are going to have their happily ever after, there is a surprising twist that no one saw coming. I love the way Mandy Lee hinted at the surprise throughout the book, but it was so slight you quickly became involved in the story again and disregarded it.

Will Maya and Dan be able to get past this deep, dark secret?

Will Maya be able to forgive Dan for what she feels is the ultimate betrayal?

YOU DON'T KNOW ME does end in a cliffhanger. Since I can't wait to continue Maya and Dan's story, I have to end this review and begin TRUE COLOURS, the second book in the YOU DON'T KNOW ME trilogy.

Arc received in exchange for an honest review.

You ďont know me is a 1st story from new author Mandy Lee. This emotional roller coaster leads us through a "love story " of main characters Maya Scotton and Daniel Foster. As a storyline this book had all the markings of an amazing, gripping read but for me, it felt like something was missing, and it irritates me that I can't put my finger on it. So overall a good read that does have me looking forward to the next in this series.

As an a talented artist Maya has lost her drive and will to paint, so with no real other choice she turns to a job with foster construction. What she didn't expect was to meet a gorgeous man that imprints himself on her in the hottest of ways. Clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed, and after many warnings about bad boy womaniser Daniel Foster his clear want for her makes it more difficult to push him away. But with her background she is quietly cautious.

Daniel is CEO of Foster Construction, a huge company that does extremely well. He has the fast cars, successful business, penthouse apartment and a plethora of womem at his beck and call, but one woman really has his attention now and he wil stop at nothing to have her. ( Now this where things got weird ), because this was through Maya 's eyes only there was no insight into Daniel's POV and this may gave been the lacking factor that has bothered me all the way through.

Dan's dominant ways, has Maya not really knowing what to do but her body can't resist him and her best friend won't let her either. So as she enters his darkened world of pain, pleasure and secrets and lies she falls deeper for the man that is slowly ruining her for anyone else.

With an overprotective best friend like Clive, Dan is forced to push him away to get closer to Maya, but that brings more questions... all with no answers. As Maya finds that happy place again and tries to push away her own darkness that was her life before she ran away, she discovers it is Dan that brings out her creative side again.

But when her past comes back, her nasty sister shows up and Daniel changes, Maya is left questioning the man she has totally fallen for... But the biggest explosion is the ending, and Daniel's secret.

I wait now for book 2 and some answers I hope to get.

I can’t help it. I love Romantic novels with Byronic heroes (aka Alpha males) who are brooding, darkly handsome, often rich, and they have a secret, hidden past. But, who can fall in love and transform this semi-monster into a cuddly teddy bear? Answer: A feisty, intelligent, strong-willed, generous and loving spirit, who also has issues of her own to deal with, just like Maya.
I loved ‘You Don’t Know Me’ right from page one. It is a well-written, well-plotted, fun and enjoyable, romantic and erotic read. When I started reading I thought, ‘This is the novel I’ve been waiting to read for months.’ I love romance, and I also enjoy an erotic twist, if the characters and plot are enticing enough, and Maya and Dan are an enthralling couple to follow.
Our heroine, Maya Scotton, is an artist with a severe case of painter’s block, who takes on an office job at a construction company in order to pay the bills. She meets the seemingly heartless and mysterious owner of the company, and they both embark on a steamy and complex relationship, which will keep you turning pages impatiently.
Maya is a friendly, funny and loveable young woman, who is denying her artistic talent, by running away from herself. She desperately needs the love, reassurance and security that Dan offers.
Yet Dan has dark demands and a shocking secret. Dan is not who he seems. You don’t know me ends with a revealing cliff-hanger, and I’m impatiently waiting for book two.
There is suspense as well as romance, building up to a final shocking secret, which both links them painfully yet threatens to keeps them apart forever.
I love character driven novels, and all the characters in You don’t know me are so well-crafted that I felt as if I could see and hear every one of them. Everyone who appears is valuable to the reader, because they have a specific role in the plot, which moves on with every page.
The big plus, at least for me, is that it takes place in London, mainly around the South Bank, which happens to be one of my favourite places! I’ve walked near and around Gabriel’s Wharf many times, but now I can’t wait to go back and have a coffee there, Dan’s favourite place! There are many more places to look out for. Mandy Lee has drawn me into the characters’ fictional world, and I loved it!

LOVED IT!

I won't even try to compare it to any other book in the erotic genre because the author threw in so many twists that I had no idea where she was leading with it till it just about hit me in the face.

Maya and Dan are like no other. They bicker and banter throughout the book. Even with the knowledge that Dan is her boss and can fire her, she doesn't back down. Her character has strengths that I admire yet underneath she has not completely recovered from her past. Dan has helped her begin her healing with her art despite her fighting him tooth and nail.

Dan has his own dark past, that is nothing of what you would could guess. When it is revealed, I'm devastated. I can't believe the darkness this man has survived yet still has excelled in other aspects of his life. I can say I was NOT happy with the way Maya handled it. Okay so completely honest is not something either of them was yet he accepts her yet she pushes him away. Maya's sister is a horrible person. With what we learn, Maya should be more irate at her sister than anyone. My emotional state after reading this is all over the map. I adore Dan! Yes, he is not perfect but he is honest with Maya about what counts and wants more than anything to protect and care for her.

I like Maya's character also but am a bit disappointed with her. She has a lot of issues between her sister and ex but excuses don't keep you warm or safe. They don't allow for you to grow and flourish .

The secondary characters that surround Dan our so well defined and written. The author has provided us with a very thorough description and outline for a absolutely enthralling book. I can't wait to get and start the second book in this series.

There were so many things I liked about this book, I don’t know where to start.
Maya Scotton, a young artist with a severe care of painter’s block, captured me from the very beginning. It wasn’t because she was this wonderful person who I wanted to be my best friend. It was because Maya was a puzzle. As soon as I ‘met’ her I was asking questions. Why does she have painter’s block? Who was the mystery man who broke her? What did he do? What on earth is this new job she has? Who are these people she works with? The more I read, the more I wanted to know and the more I wanted her to be happy.
Then along came Dan Foster, her boss. What was his past? Why is he so drawn to Maya? Why does he want to control her? Why doesn’t he want to let her go? Together they seemed like a very unlikely couple. Both had their secrets, but both of them couldn’t keep away from each other. Why?
Like Mandy Lee I’ve read and loved the This Man trilogy as well as Sylvia Day, so I knew I was going to like her book. I didn’t realise I was going to love it. I could not put it down and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, especially after that twist at the end which left me hanging.

The book begins by introducing us to Maya on a British transit on her way to a new job. She's filled with nerves, disgusted with her flatmates idea of fashion while looking like a tart. From that moment you can associate with this female. We've all had days like that. From the time she arrives at work, the mystery begins. Why was she hired, who's that handsome hunk that runs this corporation, and then she steps into the muck. Her mouth could have gotten her fired, but Mr to die for, is just as enthralled with her. From that moment the seduction races off into let's see how crazy Maya can become when she's under him. Oh, this book makes you sweat and tingle from the sexual scenes. But the kinkier he becomes, the more dangerous he seems to her. She wonders if it's supposed to be this good. The problem is, just as the title states, "You Don't Know Me", and that my friends, is what this is all leading up to. The mystery behind who Daniel is.

I liked YDKM. I felt that Maya and Dan were both hiding things from each other for most of the book and I found myself screaming a few times at them both. Maya lands a new job and the owner Dan Foster is hot AF. He definitely runs hot and cold and that was quite frustrating throughout. To me some of the BDSM book type references were tongue in cheek and made me chuckle while I don't think other reviewers took it that way. Maya does get to see a side of Dan nobody else does but that feeling of him holding on to a secret is always there. When it's revealed I thought it was unique and hadn't been done in any other book I've read. I am interested to see where things go in book two.

I'm not an erotic fiction kind of girl but I enjoyed this. It was much much better than 'Fifty Shades'. The characters in this were more fully rounded, likable and believable. The protagonist, Maya was funny, intelligent, independent but above all, a realistic woman I could identify with. Dan, the love interest, was sexy, intelligent and believably human. Even when he introduced the theme of domination into the book it was sensitively so and it was believable - he had his reasons and he had his weaknesses. It's an intriguing love story and an erotic romance. Something for everyone!
