There's a woman who oversees a highly proactive children's choir, that performs at all important events from the neighborhood. They're so zealous that they'll show up everywhere unless the organizers explicitly ask them not to. As she's skillfully avoided Renate Bergmann's cancelling phone call, our protagonist swears to marry her off as punishment... fervently hoping this'll put an end to the woman's proactive endeavors.
While forced to spend several weeks in a post-op rehabilitation center, Mrs. Bergmann is understandably worried about the perils that subpar cleaning will pose for her home. As such she feels the need to coopt her two neighbors into taking up proper cleaning etiquette. She very politely and matter-of-factly explains that when cleaning the floor, sliding around on one's knees is a must, and trash cans must be set in front of the gate no later than 6am. And miracle of miracles, the two ladies forego hiring a paid assassin in lieu of retaliation.
