For Dayton, the best part of college is the ridiculously hot professor he's taking Astronomy 101 with.
When an instant connection sparks between them, the omega twink develops a huge crush on Dr. Wright. Soon he's taking every possible excuse to talk to the handsome older alpha.
Although Tanner is straight, he can't deny there's something pulling him to Dayton. But nothing can happen while he's a professor and Dayton is a student.
Not even if they're fated mates.
Illicit Mates was previously published in three volumes: Starry-Eyed, Wide-Eyed, and Dreamy-Eyed. Together, they make up Book 2 of the Fated Date Agency series. This volume stands alone as a complete 200-page gay shifter romance novel with HEA ending and no cliffhangers.
This was a nice little fated mates story with a taboo romance. I felt the ending was rushed... it has an mpreg element..it occurred off page and skipped over completely. And even though it is a shifter book, little shifting was done. The happily ever after occurred a bit too easily.
Nope. Not touching this one with a ten foot pole. Turning an FF story into an MM one by replacing names and pronouns I consider lazy writing and distasteful deceptive behaviour.
This title is the same story as Starry Eyes under the author name Maria Jackson.
Illicite Mate: "For Dayton, the best part of college is the ridiculously hot professor he's taking Astronomy 101 with. When an instant connection sparks between them, the omega twink develops a huge crush on Dr. Wright. Soon he's taking every possible excuse to talk to the handsome older alpha. "
Starry Eyes: "For Adriana, the best part of college is the gorgoeous professor she's taking Astronomy 101 with. When an instant connection sparks between them, the young student develops a huge crush on Dr. Wright. Soon she's taking every possible excuse to talk to the brilliant older woman."
I have to say this book was such a good addition to this series! It was cute and funny the way these two MC's acted with each other. Dayton is just starting collage and his ready to party and in his words slut it up. I really loved his attitude he was just so very Diva and some of the things he would say had me laughing so hard. Then there was he hot Astronomy teacher Tanner who also happens to be a alpha too. The instant connection these two feel really makes Tanner feel weird because he has been straight his whole life up until he meets Dayton. Well they both on their own decide to contact fated date agency to find their mate. You can only guess who they match up. This story had the perfect mix of humor and steam. So I will leave this review with I really liked how this author wrote these characters and this story.
All together I really liked this book! I would recommend this book! I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.
This was totally awesome. Some parts I'm like.. wow.. and other parts I'm like awwww... and it was sweet.. and hott.. and it made me read until I was done. I love this author, they do an amazing job with making you feel like you are there. Very good story and I'm glad I got to review it.
This book did not do it for me at all. This was more of a 2.5 star story for me, but the story did keep me relatively engaged enough where I did want to know how it all worked out, so I rounded up. For me, frankly, Dayton was annoying and immature. It mentioned in the story that he acted older than he was, but i didn't see it. Tanner continually tried to maintain boundaries, Dayton agreed, and then Dayton pushed and pushed until Tanner gave in. It was quite annoying. Not having a job (and being OK with it) after spending so much time telling us how important it was to have that job gave me whiplash.
A twofer this book was. Fated mates and teacher/student. I liked the fact Dayton was able to tell his best friend what he really was. A bullies got what they deserved.
The book is only about 200 pages but the story dragged and I almost DNF. I started to skim at about 60% and yes it was a wise decision. The rest of the book was boring. I don’t think I will continue with the series.
Great book I like it a lot the concept of fated mates always made me love a book more and between these two they had fated from the first time they met
Dayton totally makes this book! No sadness or angst like the first one in the series, this installment is funny and happy courtesy of Dayton. Dayton is flaming and fabulous, finally out and ready to have his "slut phase", but secretly hoping for true love. Wearing rainbow buttons on his back jeans pockets and always asking himself what Katy Perry would do in any given tricky situation, Dayton is completely adorable and oh so funny. Tanner is a much more tame character who keeps suffering through setup after setup with women that he just doesn't connect with. While they make an immediate connection, it's not until later that the full explanation becomes clear. The story setup, the conflict, and the twist are completely predictable here, but the story still manages to entertain with the sexual chemistry of the main characters and Dayton's hilarious POV voice. (The story is told from both characters' point of view in alternating chapters.) The resolution was a big fairytale ending that put a smile on my face, even if I did roll my eyes a bit. After this fun read, I can't wait to read then next in the series!
Fresh out of parents clutches Dayton is just starting college and has stars in his eyes for his new astronomy Professor. Dayton is also a flaming yet virginal gay Omega who wants to experience life now that he’s no longer home. Dr. Tanner is a fairly new college professor at only 28 who has a cousin that keeps trying to set him up on dates. There may be a few sparks of interest between the two but circumstances don’t always play out the way you want. Well written and one of my Favorite MM stories by this author to date. Very entertaining to read.
This was a typical gay shifter book with a wholly unoriginal plot: student seduces teacher. It was just OK. One thing I wondered that only came out much later: why did no one wonder at the time how the private emails had been obtained? Oh and maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I didn't like all the pot smoking with no condemnation in the book.
Dayton is a hoot. He was mature but enthusiastic and full of energy. He seems the opposite to Tanner except for their love of Astronomy. I really liked how they didn't let anything come between them.
My first book of the new year. It didn't bother me that Tanner considered himself straight at the beginning of the book. Once he discovered his fated mate he quickly adjusted to being gay.
