4 gentle Giant stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this book so a little bit about the plot:

Colby is a reporter wanting to further her career she meets Dane one night by chance, he gives her a ride home and her plan to know more about the fighting world and what took place the night Dane ended his career blossoms the report she has been looking for to unravel why fighters are fighting with injuries and how a fighter died in the octagon

Dane is retired fighter after the fatal night where his opponent died, a night that still gives him nightmares and a night this gentle giant can't move on from. Dane and Colby become friends that leads to more, she becomes his inspiration his courage and his strength to move on. Dane is unaware Colby is a reporter and it isn't her full intention to mislead him but sometimes truth become to harder to tell the deeper you go.

Told in dual povs you are able to get into the thoughts and feelings of both characters, it's a steady paced read and both characters are likeable. There's a little bit of humour hotness, heartwarming moments and angst.

he kissed her cheek and held her tight. "Every day you save me a little bit more" he whisperd.

A great all round read with an intriguing storyline that flows really well if you like MMA fighter reads or not this is more about the relationship and Colbys investigations of the events surrounding this loveable fighter.

I have only read the previous book in this series but when I saw that Dane's book would be next of course I wanted to read it!

Dane was a MMA fighter until he killed an opponent in ring by mistake. Ever since then he has gone from job to job just to survive but sometimes he just can't move past the guilt he feels. Dane sends the widow money every two weeks just to help but even then the guilt takes control of him until he meets Colby.

Colby is looking to further her career as a reporter but in order to do that she needs a big story. She decides to go undercover in the fighting world as a ring girl. After leaving late one night two guys attack her and a man comes to her rescue. When she realizes it's Dane she knows the story she wants and how to go about it but she didn't know she would fall in love with him in the process.

I just absolutely loved Dane! Although he has been dealt some really shitty cards he just as this fighter way about him. Although he gave up fighting and goes from job to job to survive he is just has this way about him that I just loved.

Colby wasn't so honest but she had all the right intentions and it shows as you keep reading. She is Dane's fan and yet she wants to help heal him. At times I was wondering when she would tell the truth and how bad it would be for them as a couple but I felt she made some hard choices and I respected her for that.

Majority of the story is Dane overcoming his guilt and falling in love with Colby. Would
I have liked to see more action in the ring? Absolutely, but I am happy how Snow told his story and how it turned out.

This story is told from dual povs and I loved getting into both of their minds. It's a steady paced read that I found hard to actually put down. I loved how Snow just brought the right amount of hotness and humor to balance out the guilt that both the characters were going through. Yes they both had guilt but for very different reasons.

The story flowed well and overall I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to more book in this series in the future and I honestly can't wait to see who will be next!

I really enjoyed this one. It's a bit different from the first two in the series (which I loved!) and takes a different view of the MMA world. It's well written but I didn't feel the pull between Dane and Colby as much as I would have liked. Even with that, it's a very good read and I would definitely recommend it.

Dane Hardy is a great MMA fighter but when his last opponent dies in the ring he walks away from that world. Working as a bouncer in a local club, his life takes a curve when a video of him breaking up a brawl goes viral.

Colby Edwards is a journalist looking for a big break to get into a sports broadcaster roll. She's determined to get a tell all story on the underground world of MMA and goes undercover as a ring girl. That's when she meets Dane and she knows that telling his story will be her big break. Too bad he wants nothing to do with having his story told or returning to the ring. Colby's determined though and as these two get close she feels more certain than ever that what she's doing is right. Will Dane agree??

Colby Edwards has moved back to Las Vegas after her father had a heart attack. She wanted to move closer to her family. Sadly she had to give up her career as a Sports Broadcaster. The jobs in her field in Vegas are slim to none. She's forced to work on a show that is below her journalism level. When an opening for a position on a show covering the MMA becomes available, she immediately applies. But getting the job comes with conditions. She has to prove her skills as an investigative reporter. The only story she can come up with is fight that ended in an accidental death. When she started dating Dane Hardy, she never imagined she would have to use him as a gain for her career.

Dane left the ring after his last fight ended with an accidental death. Since he left his upcoming fighting career, he has been working as a bouncer. When that job falls through he gets a job with Colby's father making airplane parts.

Dane is finally finding peace once again. He's met a great girl and has a good job. Life is looking good until Colby stirs the pot. When he finds out she is a reporter just looking for a sensational story, he's beyond hurt, he's livid.

As Colby begins to uncover the truth, things begin to look different. For one thing, it may be the truth that gets Dane back in the ring once again. Where he belongs. But the truth may hurt other innocent people. The truth could save other fighter's lives.

This was a very good book. I would of liked to see a bit more romance between Colby and Dane. The story itself was an eye opener in the MMA world and the harsh realities of real life.

I enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.

3 1/2 STARS!

I have read this entire series, and loved it dearly. I wasn't as taken with Dean's story as I was with Walker's and Tyson's. I didn't feel the connection between him and Colby nearly as strongly as the previous two match ups, possible because she was keeping secrets so much. I also missed the passionate training and fighting details that were in the previous two books. I enjoyed hearing Dean's story, but I would recommend you go back and start from the beginning with Breaking Her Rules and Fighting the Fall if you haven't already read them, so you get the full passion of the series at a whole when reading this one.

Dean Hardy was a rising MMA fighter a year ago when tragedy struck and an opponent died after a kick he delivered in a fight. Dean stopped fighting and totally withdrew from that part of his life. He started working security at a casino, and tried to ignore everything about his past life.

Colby Edwards is a reporter trying to land an anchor position, when she meets Dean by accident one night. She decides to work undercover as a ring girl to get an inside story of the inner workings of MMA. She makes sure she runs into Dean to attempt to get info from him, and soon they are getting involved. She encourages him to get back into the game again when a fight opportunity comes up. Will she make the mistake of not telling him the truth before he learns it from someone else? Will Dean be able to move forward and fight again?

I really liked Dane, “best thing I’ve had in my mouth in far too long,” he mumbled, his mouth full. Her cheeks turned a shade darker and he almost coughed on the meat as he swallowed. “Get your mind out of the gutter, I meant food.” I really enjoyed this book Dane was a load back guy and Colby was a sweet girl.

Pushing the Limits is book three in the Beyond the Cage series by Jennifer Snow. Once again, I thought I was up to date with Jennifer’s books, one of my favorite authors. But this one slipped under the wire and I sincerely regret that because I think this might be my favorite one so far.

Knock out:

Dane Hardy was an MMA fighter. His last fight was one year ago and it was a fight that changed his life. A man died. And it was his fault. Lives were changed and the guilt is eating him up, every single day. He walked away from the fighting scene and is working as security in a night club in Vegas. It’s after work one night that he by chance meets a woman that would again change his life, Colby Edwards.

Pushing the Limits - Jennifer Snow:

Colby left Seattle to move back home to Vegas to be near her parents. Her father’s health isn’t what it once was and she wants to be near them. She gave up a good job as an anchor person for a television studio and wants desperately to prove herself at the television station she is working at now to get a better job. She can’t believe her luck when THE Dane Hardy offers her a ride home. No one has heard from him in a full year. She’s sure there is a story there. Maybe that will be the one that can get her the job she wants.

Pushing the Limits - Jennifer Snow:

As she and Dane get to know each other, hearts become involved. Dane is the best man she has ever known and she is sure she is falling in love with him. But he thinks she is a fight ring girl. He has no idea that she is a reporter. And when, not if, he finds out, she knows he will leave her. He will never forgive her for not telling him the truth.

“No matter what the outcome of all of this, somehow things would end badly.”

When Dane loses his job at the night club, Colby is able to help him get work at her father’s business. And Dane gets drawn in to Colby’s wonderful family. He finds a closeness there, a comfort that he has never known, and he likes it.

“What was it about this family that put him at ease, when there was absolutely no reason to relax. He didn’t know them, so how could he trust them already.”

It was such a beautiful thing to see the effect that Colby had on Dane. Each day they were together, he healed just a little bit more. His heart felt just a little bit lighter and his future looked just a little bit brighter.

“Every day you save me a little bit more.” He whispered.
“You’re the best thing I’ve ever been afraid to lose.”

kitchen sexy times:

I have loved this series from the start but I think this might be my favorite book of the three. And the author is getting braver and braver. I felt like this one had a lot more steam and I loved that. The chemistry between these two was electric and she did a fabulous job conveying that. I felt the connection between these two and I had all the tummy flutters I could handle. Dane and Colby’s story was completely awesome and captivated me from the start. I love where the author has gone with this series and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

This was a nice continuation of the Beyond the Cage series especially being reunited with characters we met in the first two books, Breaking Her Rules and Fighting the Fall. Although never a fan of the sport I found I was reeled in with enough information to have a passing knowledge of fighting especially since the terminology was used to help immerse me in the book and the sport.

Colby and Dane had immediate chemistry and were two souls each trying to get their lives where they wanted it to be. Colby because she gave up a good job in Seattle to live closer to family after her father had a heart attack. Dane because he was in a fight that ended with the other fighter dying and Dane was blamed but should he have been? Colby hid her true self and her career as a reporter from Dane to get closer to him and get the story but didn’t expect to have feelings for him. The feelings were mutual although denied by each of them thinking they were only in it for a good time. Although they were from different sides of the track and their families were nothing alike nor was how they grew up they were drawn together over and over again. It was heartwarming to see how Colby’s family treated Dane both at work and when he was a guest in their home. Dane’s mom left a lot to be desired.

There were family and friends, secrets, remorse, nightmares, attacks, tears, fear, anger, hurt, career paths, training, fights in the cage and out, jobs, happiness, laughter, get togethers, comfort, security, burn up the sheet moments, steamy scenes, lots of loving and love. There were a few twists and turns to the story as well as heart in my mouth moments. There was a happily ever after with nice closure and I hope the series continues since Colby has two brothers that need a story as well as Dylan. (Hint, hint!)

Snow has become one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to see what she writes next since I’ve read all her previous books!

Favorite Quote: Her friend worked too much and read too many romance novels to compensate for her own lack of relationships. “No.”

I've read a novel with a very similar plot line to Dane and Colby's. She's a reporter and he's an MMA fighter and his last cage fight, he landed a fatal kick to his opponent. I was able to look past this because Jennifer brought in secondary characters that left a lasting mark on my reading experience: Colby's family-especially her dad, Eva, and Josh. Colby's fishing through the web of an MMA origination's deceit and this piqued my interest as I love digging for clues and information as proof. Trust is on the line and the holding back of sharing this truth with Dane frustrated me, repeatedly. The writing was great, the plot flowed smoothly, but the rating is due to this fact. Colby had many missed opportunities, and for what sake did she fail to be honest: for her happiness, because she was craving Dane...I understand no time is a good opportunity but I believe in full honesty. Colby and Dane are both passionate in what they do-she as a reporter and he in his love for planes and fighting. His heart knows where he belongs.

Received an ARC on Netgalley

Jennifer Snow wrote a angst romance surrounding Dane Hardy and Colby. I loved that Colby was a black belt in karate and was a sports anchor. Colby was a strong female, but made some very poor choices in the story regarding Dane. Dane was a fighter who hurt someone in the ring and gave up his MMA career. Snow did not shy away for sensitive subjects which made for a angst read. I personally felt the story was wrapped up to quick at the end and felt rushed, hence the 4 star.

All around this was the best book in the series.

A great plot, a good feels romance and I just really enjoyed the characters.

Dane had my heart most of this series and Colby was a heroine who was believable. I loved her family and even took a minute to take a look if there is a off shoot series with her brothers.

I am glad I stuck out the series to read this book - proves good things can be found on your library's overdrive account
