Roxy is just a normal girl working hard to achieve her dreams. Until she saves someone’s life, gets on the news, and winds up kidnapped by a group of mysterious men targeting brave-hearted women. Just when she’s about to give up hope, two gorgeous men appear, rescue her and whisk her away to their castle-like mansion to keep her safe. It’s all good, until the men claim to be dragon shifters who want her for their mate.
Sterling and Gentry are the powerful leaders of the New York dragons and still looking for the perfect mate. From the moment they meet the brave, independent, and curvy Roxy, they’re sure she’s the one for them. Now they just have to show her all the reasons she should be the mate of two sexy, capable dragon shifters who live for nothing but to please her, while keeping her safe from the men still stalking her.
But while things quickly get hot between Roxy and her sexy shifters, evil forces are also building to mount an attack. If the dragons want to protect Roxy from the most dangerous foes they’ve ever faced, they may have to make choices that could lose her forever.
Terry is the author of over forty bestselling shifter romances. She spends her spare time dreaming of dragons, playing with her pets, and watching sunsets from her home in the mountains alongside her husband (who she suspects would make a great bear shifter). She loves the wild outdoors, her fans, all readers, and getting lost in a great book.

This was a pretty good story. I have to admit that I was unsure about this story because I had mixed feelings about Gentry and Sterling after their actions in the previous book. Thankfully, they behaved better with Roxy than they did with Tara (for the most part).
Roxy works in a convenience store but is striving to save all the money she can to achieve her dream of going to cooking school and becoming a chef. Roxy's mother died when she was a baby and her father died when she was barely an adult so Roxy has been alone for a while. The one thing that keeps her going is her goal of going to cooking school.
Gentry and Sterling are dragons that are partners. Sterling is the leader of the dragons in the New York area and feels a lot of weight on his shoulders from that. He and Sterling get along well but there's an imbalance in their relationship that has been there from the start.
Roxy saved a man that someone pushed onto subway tracks just before the subway got there. She was heralded as a hero and got an article about her in the paper. Unfortunately, her fame IDed her for some people looking for brave women and she was kidnapped. Gentry has visions (the reason he's the leader of their area) and saw Roxy held captive so he and Sterling go to save her.
Sterling and Gentry know that Roxy is a "dragon-heart" which would make her a good mate for them. TBH, both men are a little analytical about Roxy as their third at first...seeing her as a way to gain power and stability and not considering the softer side of why she'd be with them. They explain everything to Roxy and ask her to give them a week to see how things could work between them. Roxy believes she can't go home immediately because she'd be in danger so she agrees to stay. Roxy is actually interested in Sterling and Gentry but a few things hold her back...1. Roxy would have to give up her dream of going to cooking school and 2. she wants love and she's unsure if she'd get that from Sterling and Gentry. Roxy does kind of get pushed into things faster than she'd like but things do turn out well and ends with the trio happily together and starting on a HEA.
This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked Roxy a lot and could understand her reservations and her need for time to come to terms with her new life. Gentry and Sterling were good characters overall. I wasn't always thrilled with their actions but I liked how things turned out and thought they worked well with Roxy once things got settled. The story was short but enjoyable and I'm glad I read it. The series isn't perfect but was enjoyable and improved as it went. Now I'm planning to read the Awakened Dragons series. :)
Love a Terry Bolryder story !! Lots of action, sex, deep emotions, wonderful characters, terrific writing, and suspense make this series worthwhile. Powerful Gentry, fierce purple dragon, and Sterling, protective silver dragon, are awesome dragons from the previous books, are waiting for a miracle to find their mate. Then, Gentry's dream finds her, they rescue her, and the fun begins. Beautiful Roxy is feisty, strong, and confused. She is a "dragon-heart" and must be safe and protected. The relationship develops and becomes sizzling ménage sex, mixed with blooming love. The evil ones find them and kidnap her, hurt Gentry, and a rescue is needed. The dragons call on their friends from the previous books to help, and they do not fail. This interesting community of dragons is different, fun, and loving. Great tales of romance. These can stand alone, but are more enriched if you read them in order. ENJOY !!!
Love triangle? Cheating? HEA? Any Descriptive Sex w/OW/OM/Ex? Would I read more by this author/or in this series? Maybe, but not for now. Rating: 4 stars
Review
I liked this one better than the first book in this series, since the h was more sassy and stood up for herself and didn't take bs from her sexy alphas. I think this one has the most action and emotion compared to the previous other two. A great read :D
How far will you go to protect the one you love? Will you convince them to love you back, or risk their trust and hate just to say them?
THE BLURB
The world is weighing heavily on Gentry’s shoulders. As the leader of the dragons, he suffers from visions of the future. Sometimes its a blessing to be able to predict and circumvent disaster… but it so often leaves him lonely. The worst of all visions; a young woman being brutally murdered. And it’s going to happen soon.
Sterling has done everything he can to protect Gentry. He owes his partner that much at least. When he learns of Gentry’s latest vision and how attached Gentry is to the woman, he’s willing to go to whatever lengths is needed to protect her. But does Sterling realise that she might mean more to him, as well?
Roxy did the right thing and saved someone. Her thanks? She got kidnapped. She’s been trapped in this basement for who knows how long? Alone and hungry. She’s just waiting at her chance to escape.
TONE OF THE BOOK
Destined Dragons is written to be a light hearted adventure. The plot doesn’t focus on negative or stressful topics, and often humour is injected in such scenes to lighten them.
SENSITIVE TOPICS
Destined Dragons is a novella aimed at mature readers.
There are plenty of sex scenes, with a particular focus on threesomes between two males and one female. Reverse harem style.
There is also some violence and mild-kidnapping.
Destined Dragons is also a big-beautiful woman novel, although there aren’t many references towards this.
SERIES SYNOPSIS
Destined Dragons is the third novella in the Dragons of New York Series. You can get each novella individually, or the first three novellas in a larger box set. The first novella is Double Dragons.
At 106 pages long, the story is much shorter than an average romance novel (at 300 pages long). Sadly its a book that would have greatly benefited with a longer story line and some more character development.
Each book in the series focuses on a different couple, with a happily ever after.
REVIEW
The third time is the charm, right? It seems that as usual I have a love-hate relationship with Terry Bolryder’s writing. She proposes interesting worlds that I want to read about, but at the same time her characters… they grate on me. A lot. So often they act ridiculously unrealistic.
And there was something about them, maybe their demeanor or maybe just the fact that they were so damn good-looking, that reassured her things were going to be okay.
There is something about a character that’s so blind sighted by lust that they ignore any potential danger they are in, that really bugs me. As in Roxy’s case, she’s rescued from a basement after being kidnapped. Her rescuers first tell her they are mythical creatures, then refuse to let her leave their house. So the most logical behaviour is to have sex with them… Yep, realistic characters.
Terry Bolryder’s writing isn’t so bad, if you overlook a lot of stereotypes and writing cliches when it comes to plot. She does however focus a significant number of pages on erotica, and I suppose that’s where her strength lies.
FINAL WORD
If you are after a story with a stronger focus on erotica than plot, then Destined Dragons will hit the mark. It’s also short and sweet. But if you’re after a longer in-depth novel where you can truly connect with the characters.. look elsewhere.
RECOMMENDED BOOKS AND AUTHORS
Terry Bolryder has written another series about werewolves. The first novel in the series Alpha Contender (read our review) is a reverse harem set up where several alpha males come together to compete for the affections of one female.
If you like dragons, consider The Dragon Demigods series by Charlene Hartnady. The first novel in the series is Lord of Fire (read our review).
A multi-author series known as Venys Needs Men has a number of great books in it. Authors to contribute to the series are Naomi Lucas, Tiffany Roberts, and Poppy Rhys. You can see all the books contributed on the series Goodreads page.
Ruby Dixon has also written the Fireblood Dragons series. A fun adventure set in a post apocalyptic world that’s been taken over by mad dragons. Only when the dragons meet their soul mates, a human woman, that their madness clears. The first book in this series is Fire In His Blood.
Finally don’t forget the famous Dragons of Preor series by Celia Kyle. It’s about dragon-aliens occupying Earth whilst looking for their fated mates. The first book in the series is Jarek (read our review).
I enjoyed this book. I thought it was pretty good. However, I do have some questions about the logic in it.
*spoiler alert* 1. I’m pretty sure I read somewhere in one of the books that triads often only have 1 child. Since it seems like there’s no or few born female dragons, I’m assuming that most/all are male. But they need to be replacing 2 adult dragons - their dads. How do they do that if each triad only has 1 baby? 3 babies do not replace 6. 2. A new dragon is only born when another dies. At the end of the book Ran, Draven, and Melissa are expecting, specifically a silver dragon. “Yes, a dragon spirit is only born when a dragon dies, to keep things in balance. Thus when the silver dragon left its human, it was waiting to be reborn.” But dragons are almost immortal unless one dies. So now they have to wait until another 5 die to have more babies? Or have 5 died already beforehand and the silver dragon dying was the 6th, thus completing the colors and instigating the rebirths of the next set of colors? Because the book indicates that the set of colors are born close together but this seems to be directly contradicting that. 3. “It is a huge honor, and it means that the next region of dragons will be born to us.” So...all the colors are born around the same time, in the same region? But there’s only 3 triads in the region? Does that mean 2 from each triad and thus each new dragon has a half or full brother? Because nothing in the books indicated that any of the three books in the series indicates that any of the 6 dragons are related. Um, what? 4. Did Sterling make Roxy share blood with both Sterling and Gentry? Because it isn’t clear, and if it wasn’t both then she shouldn’t have gotten a dragon power, because in the previous book it required both to share blood. These things don’t make sense.

Sterling and Gentry are the silver and purple dragons, respectively. Sterling has many unusual powers, he can read the minds of other dragons and he possesses the power of telekinesis. Gentry is considered the highest dragon of the group of 6 because he had the power of prophecy. He sees the future, or at least what the future will be if the dragons can't change it. When he sees a dragon-heart in the direst of circumstances, he and Sterling are determined to change her fate.
Roxy can't believe that saving a man in a subway station is what brought her to be abducted and put into a cold dungeon cell. When two fine looking men show up and break her out, she agrees to let them take her to their home so they can protect her while they destroy the group that kidnapped her. The castle they take her to is far from the city and very secluded. When they explain what they are and how they hope she is their mate she is dumbfounded. She is not sure she is willing to give up on her dream of going to school to become a chef, but she is willing to give them a week to convince her to be their mate.
Can Sterling and Gentry keep Roxy out of the hands of the shifters who want her because she is a dragon-heart? Will they be able to convince her that she belongs with them forever?
Destined Dragons by Terry Bolryder. 3 out of 5 stars. All Roxy had done was save someone's life when they were pushed from a train platform into the way of an oncoming train. Apparently, it was so great that the whole papparazzi had to broadcast it around to everyone. The next thing she knew, she'd been kidnapped and locked away in an old damp cellar. What the hell was going on? But a few days later the door opened and in walked two of the most handsome men she'd ever seen in her life to rescue her. Gentry and Sterling were Dragon shifters on a mission. Gentry, as the purple dragon, had visions to foretell the future. He'd seen their mate tied up and held captive in a cellar, so he and Sterling just had to get her back! Unfortunately, his vision showed a lot more than her just being a prisoner, but he wasn't willing to tell her all about it. Even if his nightmares about it still wouldn't stop now that she was safe. Just how do you find your sense of self-worth when you think you should owe everything to your partner?
I was a very nice, funny & romantic story. I like the opposite characters in the story and at the end to become one. My only problem was... I would have like it very much that the female characters would have been more involved the males during mating. You made them only to received but I'm really is good to give too specially if you're doing to someone you love all her been. I hope you get what I'm trying to say.👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍😁😁😁😁
Oh I'm heartbroken, there's no more for this series. I hate it when each series written by Terry ends, but then I remember that this author always has another great story in the works and it or the series will be just as good if not just a tiny bit better than the last. So here I am ending one series and impatiently waiting for the next to begin. Love all of Terry's story that I've read so far and a few that I've re-read.
Double Dragons Desired by Dragons Destined Dragons
I have read all three of these short stories about dragon shifters. I have reviewed them together as i downloaded as a box-set.
On the whole i liked these stories. Very predictable but were enjoyable short stories with an interesting and different slant on dragon shifter powers.
If you have a few hours to sit, relax and read three easy short stories, these are perfect.
I have no idea why but anything she has written dealing with dragons I find very enjoyable. There is a touch I can't explain why but I find extremely enjoyable. Her characters are strong, no wimps allowed, villains are really bad and the action flows.
"A feeling of love, yes, but also much more. An infinite want, a desire for that person. Never wanting to let them go and always wanting to have them with you, forever."
KU is just the best at catching up with all of these wonderful stories and I am so glad Terry Bolryder likes to use it. I am tearing through her books like a house afire. They are fun. I love the fantasy. Thank you.
I think Sterling is my favorite of all the series. With this ending I'm looking forward to more and possibly more info on the history of the silver Dragon that they killed
The last of the anew stork dragons! We see the leader pair complete their triad! It was a quick read possibly could have had more depth but Overall it was ok! The series on a whole was good getting to know the dragon higheracy.
But it still pissed me off. Him mating her irks me to my core. Just felt there was a whole lot of unnecessary misunderstandings that could have been cleared up with some damn faith in each other
I enjoy the author's work for the most part. This was not my favorite series of hers. The stories felt rushed and had a lot of repetitive lines. Still a good read...sex and 2 dragons.
