THROTTLE

Rate this book
How far would you go for someone you love?

Stand up for them? Shield them? Fight for them? Kill for them?

Emma's been waiting for Jared for eight years. Eight years of knowing how much he's given up for her. Eight years of wanting him back. But when he's released from prison he doesn't call and doesn't visit. Then she finds a note.

Jared went about as far as a person could go to protect the girl he loves, but now that he's free he knows she's better off without him. The last thing she needs is an ex-con like him to tie her down.

Years ago, her stepbrother made the ultimate sacrifice, but will Emma ever be able to convince Jared that loving him is no sacrifice at all?

This is a novelette featuring a sexy, tormented, tattooed hero and a heroine who's fed up with waiting. 18+ readers only.

It was a short, in-between read. I had a "bad boy" craving and this novelette temporarily satiated that urge ;)
I don't venture often into the MF books anymore but I don't regret it - THROTTLE was quick, sexy and surprisingly developed for such a short read. If it were a longer book, I think it would tempt me to read it, too :)

That's it booo! I want more:)This was a good beginning but it was way too short! I mean I was still waiting on what he saw that night and how bad it got! How far did the dad go ??But it was sexy sweet and I love that they became a family:)

Novella length only, if longer would have rated it more.

This story was quick and sweet. The premise of this novelette was really interesting and I liked the spin it took on the step-sibling story line.

I liked that it started out when Jared was just getting out of jail. It explored his newfound freedom a bit but mostly focused on his reluctance to get together with Emma. There was a bit of mystery surrounding the exact “whys” of Jared’s incarceration but they were easy enough to guess at. The letter correspondence between Emma and Jared was very cute, I liked that it carried on a bit after he was let out of jail.

I just wish this story had a bit more. Whether it be more sexy times to make it a bit more like a quick smutty read, or a more flushed out story. the story left me wanting a bit, I felt like it was a bit rushed and there could have been a bit more development.

3 1/2 stars, This is a sweet novella that turned out to be nothing I expected. After serving 8 years in prison to protect Emma Jared is finally free. Emma has written Jared for those 8 long years and wants nothing more than to be with Jared now that he is finally out of prison, but when Jared comes home he ignores Emma. When she finally gets word from him its to tell her to move and that she deserves someone better but Emma has other plans. This was a nice short read I really liked that Emma wasn't willing to just sit around, she knew what she wanted and wasn't settling for anything less. Jared loved Emma more than anyone and just wanted her happy. I wish this was longer but a still a very nice read.

Short, hella short.
I don't think this even counts as a book, maybe a novella?
It had so much potential, too bad the author didn't elaborate.c

The story starts out with an incident that involves Emma and Jared and he becomes her hero. Eight year has passed with communication between the two and Jared has a change of heart when release from prison. He feels that Emma deserves better than him and little does he knows that she is no longer the teenage he knew before he went away. After waiting eight years for Jared, Emma knows what she wants and does everything she can to get it. The short story ended some months later. I really enjoyed this stepbrother romance and would recommend this book to others who like romance and short stories. I also enjoyed Emma and Jared and their personalities and wish the story was longer.

Throttle was an interesting spin on the books I typically read in this genre. I liked that this was a fast paced story without a lot of unnecessary details. For me, these are the best kinds of stories. I'd much rather know whats going on with the characters rather than all of the scenery around them, especially in a Novella where every word counts.

Jared was a tormented hero, which I'm always a sucker for, and I was glad we got to see a little of his perspective in this book as well. Emma was as loyal as they come, waiting eight years for the man that she loved and refusing to let circumstances tear them apart.

This was a sweet love story with likeable characters and minimum angst. Overall, a highly enjoyable read.

Quick read. Interesting story. Flashback sets stage well. Jared and Emma are in love with each other. Or at least they are in the exchange of handwritten letters covering the last 8 years; his time in prison. After his release, he feels she deserves more than an ex-con and the burdens that will come along with his life. However, she has waited for him for all 8 of those years and isn't a teenager any longer, but a woman that knows what she wants...him. The last chapter is a fast-forward that seems to be an appropriate conclusion to the story.

5 stars!!

I love this author. Her other books have been so good and Throttle does not disappoint. It's really sweet and sexy and different to all the other stepbrother romances that I've read.
