I love the way Suzanne Sabol writes, so this is another installation on the reliable Blushing Death series.

We have all the prerequisite elements here. Drop dead gorgeous vampire, sexy werewolf, totally kick-arse heroine and lots of action and backup characters.

What I think could have been added to this series, is some new characters injected into the story which would give the series some fresh material to work with, rather than continuing in the same vein. Towards the end of the novel this happens, but it could have been introduced a lot earlier to keep the novel innovative, and an extra boost to hold onto the readers interest in the series as a whole.

There are a few things done in here which made some instances too stereotyped in vampire/werewolf/magic territory which could have been done with some sort of change in a creative sense to lift the book out of a cliched situation.

Many of these series have enough space in between works to keep the experience enjoyable, but the series does now need something 'more'.

A great series and I would recommend it to readers that like the whole Anita Blake, Jennifer Estep action/romance and hot sex novels.

The ending was rushed and there was a minor cliff hanger. Curious what the next book has in store for the series.

"Emerald Fire" by Suzanne M. Sabol

My Thoughts...

This was the sixth in the Blushing Death series...'Emerald Fire.' If you like paranormal with vampires, wolfs, zombies, dark magic, supernatural, romance [love triangle], shifters, witches, other magical creatures and lets not leave out the hot steamy sex scenes you have come to the right place for this read will give it to you and so much more one good read. Not only does this author give you a 'drop dead beautiful vampire, sexy werewolf, a totally kick butt heroine but lots and lots of action to back it up with some off the chart well developed and portrayed characters' that will keep your attention all the way through the good read to the end of this series. I loved how this author was able to bring this story into sync...especially with two alpha males and with the old and new enemies there will be a lots of action with twist and turns going on. Be ready for 'bodies starting to pile up, dark magic coming as a high ranking vampire board member invade Dahlia's territory.' Will Dahlia be able to survive all of this and more?

I will say this author gives and keeps the reader quite interested reading as we see how the three of them coexisting [Dahlia, Patrick & Dean]as she 'continues to weave a story as she builds the couple's dynamics with the men in Dahlia's life along with the other secondary characters' as they tie it altogether into this last series. Would I recommend this paranormal/urban/fantasy? YES!

Add author to your reading list

This review is an overall comment on the series and not necessarily helpful in terms of the individual book. I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed each one. The author continues to weave a compelling storyline which keeps me reading and not putting the book down until I am finished. I like how she continues to build her couple dynamics, especially with the main characters Dahlia, Patrick and Dean.

Reading the prior books in the series is a must to understanding the storyline, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Suzanne Sabol's books always pack a lot of paranormal diversity. Without giving away much in spoilers, I can say you will have more werewolf and vampire engagement with and addition of zombies, witches and a return of Baba Yaga.

To date I have never regretted downloading a story from this author and have put her on my continued reads list along with authors like Faith Hunter, Patricia Briggs and Carrie Vaughn.

In the latest addition to the series Dahlia finally has both of her guys and they are coexisting...sort of. When a new threat comes up they will all have to find a way to truly become in sync. And when you've got two Alpha males you just know that'll be quite a feat!

Dahlia has always been ok with who she is and never cared about anyone else. In this one you see how much the connections she has made have really affected her and how it has changed her. She is still one tough chick, but now she has others to think about and help her when needed.

With new enemies and old there is always a bit of action and then there the other type of action! Weather in the bedroom or not and no matter which of her guys it is there is something HOT all the way throughout!
