September 21, 2020: The aftermath of several coordinated EMP strikes has left towns and cities throughout the state of Georgia in a state of crisis. The loss of electricity, mobility, and communications creates chaos on a unprecedented level. In response, a close group of preppers endure unpredictable and volatile resistance while trying to flee their hometowns to the safety of a secure bug-out house in Milledgeville, Georgia. The unlikely group consists of a family from Atlanta, a couple from Savannah, and a woodsman and survivalist who awaits them. After arriving, the group soon discovers that refuge is only a temporary measure in their epic struggle to survive
The pulse tells a story of a group of friends who meet up at their survival house in the event of an attack on the country. The nation is thrown into chaos as the power grid and communications are reduced to nothing.
This was a great story with fast paced action d characters the last you quickly root for. Though it seemed to end too quickly. Roger spent the first two books building up great characters, an exciting plot and believable circumstances that the main group faced.
The introduction of the accident victim almost seemed to be a filler which he added in to provide resolve to the story without having to write anymore of their adventures. From how the book ended I have a feeling about how everything would have resolved itself but it was overly clear as things could change as the nation rebuilt after the attack.
This is not a book, but a collection of 3 books. Each one of them , starts with a similar summery of prior events. It is more or less the summery of the 1st book “The pulse” a 100 page introduction of how it all started. After reading the 1st [art and getting into the 2 episode with the same introduction all over again I gave up.
