Did I enjoy this book: I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun read that took about a day. I didn’t want to put it down.
Yes, it’s a middle grade/youth book, but it was really cute. I loved it. Lucky Me has adventure, superstitions, family, a crush. Meghan is a character that you will relate to no matter how old you are! I felt bad for her string of bad luck, but there was some good luck mixed in as well.
Would I recommend it: Absolutely! I can’t wait for my daughter to be old enough to read it.

Cindy Callaghan is an awesome writer.
Lost in Ireland is such a beautiful story and a light read. Meghan is a 13-year-old girl who is superstitious about events that happen. One day she receives a letter that says about sending 3 more letters to others for good luck failing would bring bad luck. But she fails to send letters instead of that she sent 3 emails.
There her bad luck begun and it started hitting her life badly.
Her dad came to know that his sister Clare is said to be in some part of Ireland. The entire family takes the journey to Ireland, where Meghan was ought to find a way to break her curse.
In this curse-breaking journey, Meghan meets Finn her father's friends son who helps her out and finally, they come across many interesting things.
Whether Meghan breaks her curse and her dad rejoins with her sister lies the suspense of the story.

I loved this book Meghan McGlinchey is the most superstitious girl in her family and possibly the entire state of Delaware. when she receives a chain letter from a stranger in Ireland, she immediately passes it on, but takes a tiny detour. the settings were beautiful and it really made me feel like I was in Ireland I didn’t like the previous Lost In books, but this one was so well done Cindy Callaghan did a pretty good job from the cliffs to Viking towns and I loved the friendship between Finn and Meghan and they became more than friends Carissa I thought wasn’t a good friend and a little dramatic Meghan was the most interesting character.

A light read which depicts the different superstitions and how strongly the characters are associated with them. It takes its readers to a journey to different parts of Ireland and associated cultures. Worth a single read, preferably on a holiday or it will leave the longing of one with the readers.

What an adorable book! I just loved it! Some MG books can be geared more towards the younger end of the spectrum, but this book is so smart and the writing is sharp enough for an older MG reader while still having age-appropriate content. There was never a dull moment, and I just kept turning the pages to see what would happen next.
I read the author's first book in her international series, "Lost in London", and while I enjoyed it too, I really liked this book even more. I loved the 'homey' feel of the castle bed and breakfast that Meghan and her family stayed at. I also loved the idea that family was the main focus of the book, it was great to see Meghan meeting new members of her Irish family. The romance between Meghan and Finn was super adorable and completely perfect for this age group.
There was a lot of smart humor in this book, which was really refreshing. Meghan and Finn are driven around the Irish countryside by an eccentric older woman who wears a cape and has taken an oath of silence for the week. Meanwhile, two burly but overly sweet brothers have set their cap for Meghan's sister back at the bed and breakfast. I loved the vivid cast of characters and the peaceful Irish countryside setting made this such an enjoyable book to read.
Overall, I loved this book, and I highly recommend it to MG readers (even the older ones) as well as grown ups who enjoy a great story.

Meghan McGlinchey is set to clutch her eighth grade election when a chain letter shows up in the mail from Ireland and sets off a spree of bad luck. Luckily, her family is all set to go to Ireland and meet her father's long lost sister, but in the mean time there's a lot of mishaps coming her way!
What I loved about this book
It's part of Cindy Callahan's international middle grade series. We loved Lost in London and this one, set in Ireland is just as fun
The main character shares a first name with one of my daughters. She was all over it when this book came in the mail!
The setting- castles, people who look like leprechauns, sheep in the street and a bit of magic.
It explores looking at life as a glass half empty or a glass half full. There's a discussion about superstition.
Lucky Me is an age appropriate, fun, easy read.
The covers are colorful and will make a great gift set for your tween.
It gives a brief but realistic snapshot of some of the Emerald Isle's sites.
What I wish
I wanted to know more about Finn, the side characters and Meghan's parents. The story line is very focused on one girl and one boy.
Was hoping for a few more laugh out loud moments.
Overall
A winner. We will definitely be buying all of Cindy's books!

I would recomend this book because it is interesting and exciting. This book is a fun book to read because it is interesting to think no about. Megan McGlinchey is the main character and she always follows the rules and never breaks them from for example the uniform. Megan also belives in one thing more than anything and it is luck. Megan grows and comes a little picky and she is a little bit of a rule breaker. The book gets interesting and Megan's luck turns against her. I suggest that you read this book because it's a good one to read.

Meghan McGlinchey is very superstitious--so superstitious that when she receives a chain letter, she has to respond. It can't hurt to forward it on by email, right? Wrong! Apparently, forwarding a paper-based chain letter by email brings bad luck. That bad luck follows Meghan all the way to Ireland. This book is so authentic, you'll feel like you're hanging out in Ireland with Meghan. If you have a tween girl in your life, get her this book. She'll love it!

This is a great book. I recommend this to any girl in the middle ages who get bored and need some entertainment. This is about a superstitious girl who went on a search for good luck after she was "cursed" from a chain letter. But at the end she finds out that no matter what luck you have, friends will protect you and that's a thing that good luck doesn't decide for you.

Well. The chain-letter thing doesn't really track (among other things, the whole remove-somebody's-name-and-add-yours-to-the-list thing only works if there's more than one name to begin with), but mostly I just want to note that this is a world in which:
-at Meghan's school, five demerits equals a day's suspension...and you can get a demerit for wearing mismatched socks. This means that you could theoretically be suspended for having a bad laundry week.
-when somebody is taken to hospital via ambulance in Ireland, the stretcher is not attached to anything: The stretcher rolled to one side of the small ambulance, bumped the metal wall, and rolled back over to me. It banged into my legs. "Ouch!" I complained as I rubbed them. Shannon shot me a look. After that I held the gurney as still as I could until I saw the County Cork Hospital emergency room sign (24). So—not only is the stretcher/gurney not attached to anything, but the paramedics have left a tween to manage her sister's back-of-the-ambulance care...?
-a college student thinks she can just "write an extra-credit paper for school!" (38) Not that this is impossible, but—for what class? And how does she know her professor will sign off on this? I don't think extra-credit existed in any of my undergrad classes.

Lost in Ireland is an intriguing story written by the author Cindy Callaghan. The main character of the story is Meghan McGlinchey, the most superstitious thirteen-year-old girl in Delaware. Meghan had done a great job campaigning. On the election day for the eighth grade class president, Meghan received a chain letter from Ireland.

Meghan's family is going to Ireland to meet his father's long-lost sister. Read the story to find out will Meghan be successful in finding the original sender to break her unlucky streak?

3.5 stars. I didn't love it, but I did enjoy it. I liked Lost in London more (though I was more excited about this one). I liked the characters-especially Shannon, Eryn, Piper, and Carrissa. I loved following the girls on their hunt for Quilly, Clare, and Anna and Grandma Leona.

Let's go to Ireland!! I would HIGHLY recommend this tween-middle grade travel series! Each book of the series has different main characters so you can read in any order. I've read several books in the series and plan to read rest of the "Lost in.." series.

Great YA novel. A little hokey with the girl thinking she’s cursed, but fun nonetheless. I wish there had been more descriptions of Ireland. Hoping my daughter will read it as I think she’d get a kick out of it. She could help me decide if this is a three or four star book as I’m torn.
