"Hap-pea in the spring! Hap-pea in the fall! What month of the year makes you the hap-pea-est of all?"

Great book for a story time on the seasons or the months of the year! Love that you can discuss what month makes you the hap-pea-est of all! Bright pictures and lots of opportunity for pouring over the pages and finding some "hidden" treasures. Love it!

I adore all of the Pea books, and this one is no exception! Each month features some of its most well-known aspects (i.e. holidays, weather, etc.) with a funny pea twist! My favorite is definitely the Leprechaun Pea in March!

So adorable. Had to steal it from one of my students who checked it out today to read it quick. The peas are so cute and I love it! The illustrations are beautiful and colorful. :)

Not bad really, I went into this feeling like the theme would feel really forced, but, it was actually kind of nice. Just a simple month by month picture book with a sentence or two per page. Illustrations were cute and bright.

Recommended for parents trying to teach their children about seasons and the months of the year.

We love looking for the lady bug on each page. One of the best things about this series. The illustrations are a close second. Very cute books.

Text: 2 stars
Illustrations: 4 stars

I love Keith Baker's Peas series, but this one is disappointing. The text is too sparse to inform children about the months, and the ending is dragged out to fill the remaining pages once the months are over. But the illustrations of the industrious peas are fun, and deliver the best part of this picture book.

Summary: This book is about all of the months of the year and what we do during that months
Connections: I could relate to doing almost all of the things the book mentions for each month
How you would use it: I would use this especially in the younger grades like kindergarten when we are going over or learning the months of the year

This is by far the weakest of the peas books. The pictures are charming, but they didn't thrill me in the same way as the pictures for Little Green Peas: A Big Book of Colors or LMNO Peas. I'm a little wary of the next book, LMNO Pea-quel, only because it seems like this concept has run its course. I love Keith Baker, but I'm ready for something new, not more of the same.

Amazingly cute story of some very happy peas enjoying the months of the year. I LOVED it! All the little peas are playing and cover the pages with their activities. Illustrations capture the fun and frolicking of the peas. Look for the lucky ladybug hidden on each page. It is a very colorful, fun and sweet book for kids. I would buy for my school and gifts. Highly recommended for Grades K-2.

More pea-themed antics. Illustrations make little readers want to pore over pages. Simple concept book introduces months of the year and big ideas to remember them by. Not brain surgery, but useful at home and in the classroom.

This picture book is unique in that it addresses months of the year. I have had a difficult time finding fun picture books that teach time, months, years, days etc. I adore Keith Baker's alphabet peas book. I recommend this for storytime for sure!

Now there's a title right up my alley: "Hap-Pea All Year"

Children aren't the only ones who can be happy all year. We adults can develop that way of life.
Evidently this book aims to help us to make new happiness begin to bloom in our hearts. Right now.

It sure makes this Goodreads Book Reviewer happy... reading-and-rating-and-reviewing, and rock-'n-rolling, along with the contagiously joyful Keith Baker.

WHAT A JOYFUL, FESTIVE SURVEY. SO MUCH FUN THAT CAN FIT INTO A YEAR

Each month has its own glorious illustration, filled to the brim with active and animated peas, plus plenty more.

For Instance, Here's the Two-Page Spread for November

"Hap-pea November! Open the sidewalk gate.
Welcome all your guests, fill every empty plate."

What a party is here:

* Exuberant peas, individualistic in Keith Baker style: They come to join the fun.
* Feasting on pie, everyone's happy.
* Some peas have even managed to play football in the sky.
* Other peas are lounging around the gorgeous letters that spell "November." Because each full-fledged letter isn't just beautiful; it's as solid as excellent furniture.

FIVE STARS and a great big smile for you, author and illustrator and entertainment mastermind, Keith Baker

This genre is categorized as a picture book. This book is intended for the audience of preschoolers. This book takes its audience through every month of the year, and specify why its a means to be happy in each month.

I rated this book a 4 star because it matched the intended audience. This book consist of bright colors, big bold letters, and lots of pictures. The elements of this book was very effective. Each month consist of a major holiday, and the author kinda implemented it into the story as a way to be happy. The characters matched the title's language. ''Hap-Pea All Year '' with little peas as the book's characters. I would have rated it a 5 stars if it was a change in characters. I believe that this book would be appealing to young readers simply because of the colors, and bold letters. I also think it would be appealing because it reinforces the months of the years, and the colors that preschoolers should be learning.

Not my favorite of the peas books, but still a good read. I love the bright colorful illustrations and all the little details. It makes for a good storytime read, though. This one was lacking some of the repetition of the other books in the series (less for the kids to chorus along with) but it still had some good interaction potential with the months - we talked about what month comes next, what holidays, etc. I used it for a storytime on rhyming, but it would also work well for seasons, months of the year, peas... It would make a great one-on-one read too, where you can take your time and see everything the little peas are up to.

PS - I loved that August (my birthday month) had peas relaxing in the shade and rereading a favorite book. Sounds perfect to me!

Baker, Keith Hap-pea all Year, PICTUREBOOK. Simon and Schuster (Beach Lane Books) 2016. $17.99. Content: G.

Watch as a group of peas celebrate the seasons and the months of the year. Lots to look at on each page, the illustrations are fun and busy - each month has an array of peas dressed in seasonal garb.

Because they are, well, peas, this would work better as a read to a child on your lap book, rather than a show to the class book. I can see spending time playing can you find the one that’s doing _____?

So lovely and colorful that one of my tiniest toddlers wandered on up during storytime and plucked it off my cart to read while we were doing something else (which, by the way, I say go for it). I'd like to use this one again in a different combination of books, it was good but maybe a little long for toddlers.

My mom read this book to me at the library. I was busy doing a puzzle, but she really loved the simple, clever rhymes, and looking at all of the peas doing activities that fit with each month of the year. Keith Baker's Pea books sure are cute and fun.

Short rhymes and month paintings that really capture the months of the year (although very American). This book doesn't necessarily apply other places mostly due to the Valentine's day and St' Patrick's day (and slightly Thanksgiving) implications for February, March, and November.

Interesting when he picked for April his books are very inclusive? No that’s not the word eclectic. Something like that ecumenical OK whatever. I wish we were happy all year. I guess you can be happy if you’re at PA. And green pea. :-)

Simple board book with a page for each month. Would be good practice when she starts learning months more. We always love talking about the peas and finding the ladybug on each page. Stella enjoyed talking about the different weather on lots of the pages (snow, rain, clouds).
