NHL star Marcus Zankoriewicz is accused of committing adultery with another player's wife. He reveals that he is gay at a press conference, not being certain of how it will affect his career.

This short story (15 pages on my e-reader) begins at the press conference and shows how the press and Marcus’ team reacts to the situation in the weeks to follow. His coach wants to make sure that new players being brought on react properly around him, so he has Marcus conduct the interviews.

Fire on Ice was a quick creative look at a sensitive subject. I like that Marcus’ coach supported him and did what he can to make him feel comfortable. I found the reaction of the players being interviewed interesting.

The story was well-written and quick to read.
