The busy builders are hard at work driving bulldozers, cranes, and other construction vehicles to build a new school house. A simple rhyming construction story packaged in a sturdy specialty box format that will get little ones ramped up and ready to go!
Cool board book for fans of construction vehicles. The pages fit into a tray that surrounds and protects them, hopefully giving your book a longer life.
This book has much that will appeal to young readers, from its unique format to popular theme. The pages are sculpted into different shapes based on their featured vehicles, and they rest inside a tray, making the closed book look like a shallow box. The text is short and structured into short rhymes on each page, although some of the wording is awkward and does not read aloud easily. The colorful digital illustrations feature a variety of animals and have many details to explore. Children ages 2-5 who love vehicles, especially construction machinery, will want to read this title again and again.
Young readers who love trucks, other vehicles, and construction sites will simply adore this book, designed to have each of the pages nestled in a sort of board box. Each page gets larger so that different machines are revealed as the pages are turned. Although there isn't much of a story, it introduces to youngsters to the names of all those large machines used on building sites, including the loader, the excavator, the tall crane, the cement mixer, and the dump truck. Although some of these are colors that I haven't usually seen on trucks, the book will have appeal as it encourages youngsters to play with their own toys and use their imaginations. I liked how the crew is painting the area and planting flowers on the last page after all the debris has been removed. Caregivers may want to take their little ones to a building site so they can see first-hand the scenes depicted here.
This hardcover board book with rhyming text is a wonderful read aloud for young children. The bright, colorful illustrations show a variety of animals using the big construction equipment children find so intriguing.
Prior to reading the book, it would be fun to have the listeners predict what they think the constructions workers will be building. Highly recommended for early childhood libraries and personal collections of children who have a fondness for construction books.
Simple book made to help engage children while teaching about construction site machines. Really like how the pages are different sizes like a flip book.
