My name is John Modica. Something that most people do not know about is me is that storytelling runs deep in my veins. My passion for storytelling was discovered by an unexpected source – my grandma. She was my biggest fan. After showing her the home movies I edited and transferred to DVD, my grandma encouraged me to go to film school to develop my storytelling and editing skills.

While my grandma is no longer with us, I now have a sense of pride in my work by not hiding it away. To this day, her encouragement continues to fuel my desire to improve my work. Every story I develop is a challenge. I am not afraid of a challenge. Each challenge pushes my abilities further.

John Modica has a winner in Aurora: Crisis. It starts right off with the murder of Janet Aurora in her own kitchen while her husband and son are at home. Jack Aurora is a police officer but was shot trying to save his wife. He was disabled and unable to continue as an officer.

Adam Aurora wants nothing more than to follow in his father's footsteps and find the person that murdered his mother. Unfortunately he has tried applying to the Police Academy three times and three times failed the psych evaluation - anger management issues. He does have temper!

However, there is a serial killer loose and Jack pulls in some favors and both he and his son are deputized. Jack also pulls in a favor from an old friend at the FBI not realizing that they have been working to catch this serial killer for quite a while. Adam makes more progress than either the police department or the FBI.

The story is fast paced, a quick read and a page turner. From the beginning to the end there is no slowing down!
