Health problems hit, but now with book #100 out, I am looking forward to my retirement. I am not only an avid writer, but an avid reader. I am constantly with a book, whether writing my own or reading someone else's, I am always looking for a new journey and believe that with books and a vivid imagination, anything is possible. I love and thank the readers who bring the stories to life. Thanks for what you add to the books. Your imaginations, added to my own, complete the stories. This journey has been amazing. Thanks, family, friends, and amazing readers
Sheriff Brady Jenkins, Eric Warner and Cami Johnson find themselves drawn together investigating the murderer of Vera Johnson in the tranquil town of Ashton Heights. Cami’s grandmother was beloved by all, a woman with no enemies, her death creating outrage in the peaceful town. The trio explores the seedy underside of the community, dealing with unsavory characters like Beau Rawlins only to find there are deeper and darker secrets ahead. P.S. Winn weaves a taut and suspenseful tale that makes this the biggest and the best of her anthology. Don’t miss it!
This is the first book I have read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s quite a short book, but that wasn’t the only reason it held my attention from beginning to end, and I devoured it in two sittings. The story begins with the murder of an old woman, but what is bizarre, is that all her teeth have been removed, and stranger still, there appears to be no blood. Her granddaughter, Cami, returns to the town for the funeral and decides to move back into her grandmother’s house. A second murder rocks the town, and this time, a young woman is killed, her fingernails removed, and her fingers cut off – and again no blood. Sheriff Brady Jenkins and his small police force investigate the gruesome murders, and when there is a third victim, he suddenly begins to see a pattern developing. The book is pacy and well-written, and by the end, a valuable message develops which we should all take to heart. An enjoyable read.
In the course of reading a story such as this one and having read many of this writer's books I surmised a paranormal aspect of the book. I will not tell you more about the paranormal aspect but suffice it to say it is there. Murders, one after another but strange murders occur in Ashton. A Grandma is killed and her teeth cut out of her head by some kind of very sharp device leaving no blood. The M.E. finds that she has been injected twice, once with something like succylcinol (sp) and then a coagulant of some kind. The next murder is a woman who has her fingers cut off and before they are the fingernails are pulled. Finally a person dies who was a braggart about his bit as a commercial actor. The Sheriff deduces a motive. The daughter of the Grandma is now in Ashton and is a fine artist who does some crowing about how good she is at drawing. Get the picture? If not read on because it will come clear to you only in the book. A fine piece of work, this book, very readable, a fast read which demands your attention. I read it in one short day.
When Eric Warner arrives at Vera Johnson’s house to find the elderly woman dead with all her teeth neatly cut out and lined up beside her lifeless body, it is just the beginning. “Judgments” by P.S. Winn wastes no time as it whisks the reader through the mystery of murder in the small, quiet town of Ashton Heights. Almost immediately, Sheriff Brady Jenkins must solve a second murder. Shelby North is found with her fingers cut off and her nails pulled out. What kind of manic is loose in Ashton Heights? When Beau Rawlins is found murdered with his face cut off, Sheriff Jenkins jumps to an astonishing conclusion. Could his idea possibly explain the murders? And if so, can Cami Johnson—who moved into her grandmother’s house after her grandmother was murdered—be saved in time?
When an old woman was murdered and all her teeth removed, it was disturbing but not alarming. A second victim had her fingernails and fingers removed. By the time Beau Rawlins is found with his face sliced off, the town of Ashton Heights is in a panic. All these gruesome murders are happening in this small town, and everyone is scared. Can Sheriff Jenkins get to the murderer before Cami Johnson becomes the next victim? This story starts with a feeling of suspense that continues to grow until the reader is tempted to rush to the end just to see who the murderer is. Another marvelous story from P.S. Winn.
This was a very quick and easy read. It was suspenseful and is one of those books that make you think about a persons actions. We have all heard of the seven deadly sins. Well this book follows people who have dealt with Pride. It was very fascinating and made me think a lot.
I want to say thank you for allowing me to read and review this book. It was written very well and was enjoyable to read...Stormi
The mystery of this book will take readers on a ride they won't soon forget. It is not just the killings in the small town of Ashton Heights that has the residents upset, but the gruesome manner in which they are carried out. The first murder victim is found with her teeth removed, the second had her nails ripped off and then her fingers removed. This book will have readers anxiously turning the pages as they try to figure out who the killer is before the small town sheriff's department does.
JUDGEMENTS PS WINN Several brutal murders are committed in a small town. The sheriff and residents are baffled as to why these people were targeted. Then it occurs to them that these were vanity kills and someone was passing judgement and meting out punishment. The real surprise is not who but what are doing the killing. Ms. Winn has used her vast imagination in this tale. Judgements is a fast, must-read story for mystery and thriller enthusiasts. I gladly give JUDGEMENTS A 5 STAR RATING.
