But after a difficult and risky pregnancy, their daughter, Mia, was born with a cleft palate―a serious condition requiring multiple cranial and facial surgeries. Missy is the wife of Jase Robertson who is on the Television series Duck Dynasty. I’ve seen the show a few times. Jase cracks me up.

Missy opens up and shares their family struggles and heart ache in a personal and transparent. The story opens up with Missy getting an ultrasound of their third child, Mia who has a cleft lip.

Jase starts the book with a forward he says, “Most people think that cleft lip and palate is merely a cosmetic issue that can be quickly fixed. In fact, that was my initial mind set too, thinking, My daughter has a problem. Let’s fix it and move on.” If only it could be that simple. The harsh reality is that kids like Mia have surgeries and procedures to aid their speech, eating, and breathing the entire time they are growing.”

I liked how he thanks his wife for writing the book, “without you I could not be me – but God knew that, didn’t he?”

Missy then writes an introduction she says, “Trust me, I don’t know if anyone in the Robertson family expected Jase’s brother Willie, would ever have come up with the idea of putting our family on television. In our minds we have always been normal people doing our best to love God, love each other and raise our children well. …
She goes on to say, “One reason I wanted to write this book is to help families navigate through their difficulties, rather than having the challenges take charge and rule the family. Another reason I wanted to share our story is to encourage people facing any type of trouble in life that there is always hope, that the burden you think you can’t bear is already in God’s hands.”

The couple open us and talk about their life’s experiences happy, sad and the difficult. She says, “Through every circumstance, we have leaned on our faith, and we have found God to be completely trustworthy and faithful. We know what it’s like to hear bad news. We know how it feels to pray that God will do one thing in a situation only to realize He has done something else…and we are well acquainted with the financial strain of a major medical situation.”

“I pray that despite the challenges you face, you will view your life as I view mine: Blessed.”

This couple talks about living out their faith no matter what comes their way, which is an encouragement to anyone who reads about their journey. I have a special needs child and would have appreciated a parent’s outlook at what they experienced and faced with my similar situation. If you are a fan of their T.V. show you’ll love this book!

My Review:
This dramatic story shows hos God can shine through even in the most difficult of circumstances. Each step Jase and Missy took they had to have God there leading them, pushing them, and holding them. Not one step was ever taken alone. From the moment they learned of their daughter's fate, they knew it was going to take a God moment to pull all of them through and He would have to stick around to help them through many, many more.

I love learning how this family survives and deals with their issues be it good or bad because they choose to do it God's way. Because of that I look to them as mentors in a sesnse and someone that we can all learn from.

"Blessed Blessed Blessed" by Missy Robertson is the story of her and Jase Robertson's life before their daughter Mia for a short part of the book while the rest is on the powerful story of Mia born with a cleft palate and lip. This book came in the mail just at the right time for me as we were just getting ready to go to our states children's hospital to have a medical test done on our son that could have been very serious (turned out to be nothing but a fluke in the testing at our local clinic). This book was so powerful and uplifting I really could not put it down. I really enjoyed Missy's honesty on how she felt and how Jase reacted to everything that they have lived thru in their married life with their children. She was very open and honest on the feelings during all of Mia's surgeries and obstacles in life. Mia is such a treasure and blessing to her family and community, I really can't wait to see where God's plan for her as an adult is. She is such a strong young girl with a great attitude her family is so blessed by her. I think the most powerful part of the book though was when Missy talks about having to grieve that their life and Mia's life will not be the normal that society expects as norm. And then to accept their new normal in life. For us parents that deal with health issues that are not always the norm in society that was so helpfully knowing how someone else also felt. This is a very powerful book and I highly recommend it.

I was disappointed when it didn't start out with them dating or give more history about them. I thought it was going to be more about them and their life together, but there wasn't much information given about that. The dating and marriage was brushed over and the book was definitely about Mia's story and what the parents have to go through with the surgeries and handling everything, which would be good for someone going through the same thing. It's very informative on the right decisions to make, the difficulties you face and the feelings you experience. It's not really on their family like the other family members' books were which was disappointing but I understand it's about being the voice for this issue and getting the word out for people that need to hear it.

It was cute when Jase said “we’ll still love him” in response to seeing Reed’s head shaped like a cone, thinking it would always be that way. I teared up when after the third surgery Missy and Mia stop at Willie's house and he comes to the car and Mia turned her face away from him. And when Mia couldn't spend the night at her grandma's, Missy said she could stay at Bella's or Bella could stay with them and her cousin Bella said it was okay, she didn't have to go to Kay's house and she'd help Mia put her headgear on. Mia said she couldn't do it and Bella said we can do it. There were definitely some emotional moments in here.

I was doing research on cleft palates after a friend's child was born with one. This book came up in my search results, and I was intrigued as it was different from most of the dry, medical books that were also recommended. I've read a few other of the Robertson books, but can't say I was impressed. This is much better than most of the others. I'm not sure the blurb describes it accurately. This is primarily the story of Mia Robertson, daughter of Missy and Jace, who was born with a severe cleft palate and the surgeries to fix it over the last 10 years. I learned a lot about the difference between cleft lips and cleft palates. It is possible to have one but not the other but most common to have both. I mistakenly thought this was a relatively easy, 1 time surgery. It isn't. I also found the parts about being the parents of a special needs child insightful. Too bad it isn't better written.

I read this book in a few hours- I couldn’t put it down! Love Missy and Jay’s unwavering faith in the Lord and their accounts of so many answers to prayer over the years. I should also explain: My hubby and I discovered the TV show Duck Commander during COVID-19, loved it and commenced watching nearly every episode over the past three months...I felt like I got to know the wives in the show (as much as you can through TV) so I just had to get this book AND the Women of Duck Commander book as well (which I also read just as quickly).

I was excited to read this, because I haven't heard much from Jase or Missy in any of the Robertson books. I knew a large part of this book was going to be about Mia's journey with cleft lip and palate, however, I wished there had been more of their life story as well.
I wanted to hear about their first meeting, and when they started dating, and things like that. Most of that was skipped over.
The part about Reed having a cone head shape after birth and Jase saying “we’ll still love him" cracked me up, and reminded me of American Wife by Taya Kyle, when their son also had a cone-shaped head after birth.
the part about her having Rh- blood, and needing to take Rhogam reminded me of my Genetics class, because I learned about that in there, so that was interesting to hear.
I also connected to the story, how Mia would have been born on September 11, but was born on September 12 instead. My grandma's birthday was September 11, and my mom's is September 12, so that was another cool part of the story.
There were so many emotional and touching moments in this book, big and little that I teared up over. I don't think I've ever done that so many times in a book before. like when Mia hid her face from Willie after her surgery, because she was self-conscious. &when Mia prayed for Mrs. Cathy instead of herself.

The numbers at the bottom of the page are so small! I could barely see them. I would have loved to have heard more from Jase. Maybe alternating chapters, or several chapters in his perspective.

I remember thinking it was outrageous how the doctors would get some things wrong. Like the machine supposed to measure the contractions wasn’t hooked up properly, so it didn’t show she was in strong labor. &not all of the embryonic tissue had been removed 16 days earlier, and that cells reattached to her fallopian tube, grew again, and then ruptured her tube. &the instance where they could have sued her doctor because of a big mistake she had made.
My mom says the same thing. A locked door won’t keep criminals away, so she kept her car doors unlocked.
So many touching things, the doctors being impressed at her wearing her headgear so much, and going from moving only one millimeter to ten.
Her walking down the hall after surgery holding Reed’s hand.
Her not wanting to take the goofy juice so she could tell everyone bye.
This was such an inspirational and touching book.
I recorded the episode Stand by Mia just to rewatch it and see her speech again now that I knew the backstory. Watching it again, and knowing how long her speech was, I was really disappointed at how much they cut out of the story. And in the book when Missy said that the producers initially didn't want to tape the episode because it's supposed to be a comedy show. I wish it had focused more on Mia, and had given the public more insight on what exactly the family and Mia has gone through. I wish it, and the whole show, would be a more accurate portrayal, instead of the producers wanting to gloss over real world problems. I love the comedy aspect, that's why I started watching it, but I would love if it was more real and emotional. That episode certainly called for it.

Missy and Jase came from different backgrounds, but God had a plan to join them together one day and start a family. Little did Missy know what a rude she was in store for. Being from a big family, Jase was often surrounded by brothers, cousins, parents and whoever else just happened to be around. Missy's life was a little quieter until the day she became Mrs. Jase Robertson. Through the very successful television show, "Duck Dynasty" their privates lives were a thing of the past.

They had two sons named, Reed and Cole and a daughter named Mia. When Jase and Missy heard the news that their daughter was born with a cleft palate, they wondered where was God . The journey they were about to start was one they weren't sure they were equipped to handle. The seriousness of their daughter's condition would test their faith , bring tears to their eyes , but be determined to get the best care they could for their daughter.

The surgeries Mia has endured is one that would find her drawing strength from her own faith and from her family and church that prayed diligently for her. Missy describes in details the many surgeries Mia has gone through and the aftercare that brought her to tears at times. It is hard to watch your child as she is wheeled to surgery and you are left standing there feeling helpless. The care Mia required after each surgery was hard but Missy and Jase did it with a sense of hope that each surgery would bring Mia closer to a total healing.

As Missy explains in the book, it is "crucial to have a support system." Their family has stood strong and held them up when they felt at their weakest. Mia is a young lady filled with joy and a testimony that she shares which has people standing to their feet as she bravely talks about her condition . She has never let anything stop her and is an encouragement to many. The book is a powerful testimony of a young girl who has overcome many obstacles with a smile that lights up a room and a heart filled with love. Her faith is unshakeable and her parents have grown stronger as a family during the many surgeries Mia has had.

Jase defines blessed as "reflecting joy that comes from a divine origin." They know they are blessed and speak at events to encourage other parents who have a child experiencing a difficult condition. Their words bring hope, peace and assurance that they are not alone . Missy said the most important lesson she learned was the truth of Deuteronomy 31:8, " Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you."

I was blessed, blessed, blessed reading this book. :) Missy talks openly about raising a child with special medical needs. She shared the joys and the disappointments and struggles. My son has had a similar health journey (heart related instead of cleft lip/palate related) so I resonated with her stories. I could understand because, in a large sense, I’ve been there. Missy explains things that often go unsaid. While others may know of a trial we’re going through, they often don’t know all that is happening (and all we’re feeling) behind the scenes. This book does a really great job of putting into words the myriad emotions a parent goes through. I appreciated that for myself and think it will be helpful for others who haven’t had an experience like this as well. It will give readers ideas for how to help when a trial like this strikes someone they know.

It was fascinating to read Mia’s story. I didn’t know how severe the issues can be with a cleft lip/palate. It was helpful to read and learn more about this condition. Mia is an incredibly brave girl. It was inspiring to read of her courage and how she doesn’t let head gear and having a cleft lip and palate hold her back from the life she wants to live.

Missy talks openly about her faith and how God helped and strengthened them through this trial. Even in some very dark days, Missy had hope because she believed God answers prayers. “He does not need good odds. He can make the impossible possible and bring a victory when the chances seem insurmountable” (location 846).

I am a Duck Dynasty fan and I felt like I could hear Missy and Jase telling their story because of watching their show. It added another layer of depth to the book because I’ve already gotten to know their personalities a bit. When Missy talked about the incredible support system they have, I could well imagine it.

While I expected to find the book interesting, I was surprised by how compelling it was. It was hard to put it down and I finished it in two days. Missy writes, “I have learned that when people endure suffering, there is a richness that comes to life that they would never experience without it” (location 2474). That the Robertson family is different and richer because of their experiences with Mia, I have no doubt. “Because we are in this situation, God will be displayed to someone who might never have sought Him otherwise” (location 2538). This too is true and one of the glorious effects of this book.

BLESSED, BLESSED, BLESSED
By Missy Robertson
ISBN: 978-1-4964-0570-8
Retails for: $25.99

ABOUT:
Missy Robertson knew that marrying duck-hunting Jase Robertson would be an adventure... and she was up to the challenge. Their life together was good (even after Jase grew the beard). They had two children, worked hard to help build the thriving Duck Commander business, and loved to serve GOD.
But after a difficult and risky pregnancy, their daughter, Mia, was born with a cleft palate-a serious condition requiring multiple cranial and facial surgeries. As their baby struggled to breathe, and Missy and Jase faced a life that suddenly looked very different that the one they'd planned, they found themselves staring down one of life's biggest questions: Where is GOD in all this pain?

IMPRESSION:

For starters, I have never watched Duck Dynasty, so I was not familiar with the author's fame until this book and researching their show. I chose this book because of the title and how I felt like I could relate to this book based on it's description.

A little personal backstory, I too have a disabled child, 9 years old. She's had 17 surgeries so far! Times have felt tough and I have often been angry at my relationship with GOD through all the tough times. But through those tough times I have found strength. My own. I marvel at how much my little girl has been through but still manages to have a sweet and constant smile on her face. I too am very blessed.

Now for this memoir, I'd just like to say I really enjoyed the way Missy and Jase shared their experiences candidly. Their honesty, and love for eachother and their family was refreshing. I loved the cover photo of the two of them and the wonderful 8 page color insert spread. More people should include those in memoirs!

This book was a reminder that should stop and realize that celebrities are people too, with real lives and struggles like some of the rest of us. We should always celebrate family, and be humble through all the good and the bad challenges we face.

GOD Bless Mia Robertson. The way her mother wrote about her journey had me in tears because I could relate. I hope this little girl has a full recovery from all of her procedures and therapies. What really makes you tear up is Mia's speech that was included at the very end of the book. She wrote about GOD calling her for special purpose just like he did Moses in Exodus. (Exodus 4:10-12) And encourages us to remember that GOD is bigger than our struggles.

I recommend this book to any Duck Dynasty fan, and to any parent of a disabled child. Very insightful read.

I am glad that the Duck Dynasty members have chosen to write their stories, because the TV can only capture so much, and much of it being what it wants to capture. But as with everyone, their lives are more complex. The trials Missy, Jase, and their family have gone through, mostly surrounding their youngest daughter, Mia's cleft lip and palate, can be staggering. But it is a blessing that they've had the Lord to lean upon, because really there is no other way to get through anything like that.
Some of it did make me sad, because I could see the areas in which Missy and Jase are particularly broken. I didn't agree with a lot of Missy's views. She kept saying how she had to be strong for her children, and her children couldn't see her emotional or break down. And I don't agree with that. We aren't to be strong by our own strength, anyway - we're supposed to lean on the Lord fully and use His strength. And I think it's important for all children to see their parents true and raw, even if that means falling apart - God wants us transparent, and children can definitely grow up healthy in seeing their parents that way.I'm not saying freaking out and always being a wreck, I'm just saying that if children can see their parents sad and scared at times and know that they go to God when they are troubled, then that teaches them to do the same.
I also didn't agree with Missy thinking that Mia (and all of her children) be so independent at a very young age, almost not even relying on Mom or Dad at all. I don't think that's wise - God gave us parents for a reason, to grow us and be there for us, to give us security. Not to replace God, but at such a young age, children need that security. I believe if they don't get that, and don't understand how to go to God (and really, not many do at such an age) they use their own coping-mechanisms to handle life. And that only makes it hard later on to lean on God.

The relationship between Mia and Bella especially was really cute. What a blessing that they could be (and are) so close. The support Bella lovingly gave to Mia was precious. :)

Blessed, Blessed... Blessed is the story of Missy and Jase Robertson, and their special needs daughter, told in their own words. I was first introduced to Missy and Jase on the show Duck Dynasty. (Great show, if you haven't seen it before!) I knew from the show that their daughter had been born with a cleft palate, but to be honest I hadn't thought much about it. I thought that babies born with cleft palate had surgery when they were young and were "fixed." I had no clue until I read Blessed, Blessed... Blessed how much of a process it is. At the end of the book Mia (the daughter) had her fourth big surgery at age 10... and it might not even be her last. In between the surgeries there were still lots and lots of treatments, and some of them had to be administered by Missy. The Robertsons were able to secure top-notch treatment for Mia, but it meant driving five hours each way to Dallas, Texas for those treatments, and paying out of pocket since their insurance didn't cover it.

So this was not the story that I was expecting when I picked up Blessed, Blessed... Blessed! It ended up being a true page-turner to me, but I did go into it expecting something more lighthearted, like the other Duck Dynasty books. I was fascinated by the Robertson family's strength in the face of adversity. Even young Mia never seems to balk at the treatments or get down about how she looks different from other kids her age. A lot of celebrity memoirs are kind of sub-par in writing, but the Duck Dynasty books continue to impress me. I think Beth Clark has helped with the writing in most of them, and she's good! Even though I knew in the back of my mind that the Robertsons are doing quite well now, I still felt a connection to Missy. I felt like we could grab a cup of coffee and chat and it wouldn't be weird. I appreciate that the family is always very open about their deep faith in their books too. They don't shove it in your face; it's worked into the story.

Overall, this is a great book. You'll cheer for Mia and her family the whole way!

Blessed Blessed BlessedThe Robertsons have become a household name in many homes in America because of their TV reality show Duck Dynasty. They are not ashamed of their faith in Jesus Christ, and I love that! This particular book focuses on Jase and Missy’s daughter Mia, who was born with a cleft lip and palate. Missy tells the story of their journey with Mia so far. The journey has included several surgeries, and she explains the impact those surgeries have had on them as a family as well as on Mia herself. Through it all, Missy gives God the glory and recognizes that through these challenging circumstances God is using them and their precious daughter to help other families who may be going through similar situations.

I have read a few of the Robertsons’ other books they have published, and this is just as good as the others! I love that they are so real in their books as well as in their lives. They may be big TV reality stars now, but they are Christians, and of that they are not ashamed. I love how Missy points out how God had a purpose for the challenges they’ve been through, and how He chose them to be Mia’s parents. I love how she recognizes that because of Mia’s cleft they have come into contact with many families that they can be an encouragement and witness to that they may never have met otherwise. I would recommend this book, and if you know someone who is going through this, or is going to have a baby knowing that they will have this, maybe consider getting this book for them as a source of encouragement.

I love how I found the Robertson family. Surprisingly, it was not through watching Duck Dynasty (although I have watched several episodes randomly since), but through Sadie Robertson. After discovering her and all that she stands for, I read both books The Duck Commander Family and The Women of Duck Commander followed by A New Season by Al and Lisa Robertson. By the time I had read those books, I was completely amazed by what God had done in this family and fascinated by their faith and strength. It goes without saying that by the time Blessed, Blessed...Blessed was released for publication and consequently reviewing by such fortunate bloggers as I, I was so excited to get my hands on a copy of it! I had already been touched by Missy's gentleness paired with her obvious strength; this book brings both character aspects to light in a whole new way. And what I absolutely love about the book is that Missy doesn't want applause or admiration- she wants Jesus to get all the glory. She is open and candid and humble and I love her the more for it. Moreover, I praise God more for what He does in people's lives! Perhaps you have heard of Missy and Jase's story and that of their daughter Mia....but you will have no idea of the struggles behind their harmonious and close family life until you read their story in Blessed, Blessed....Blessed. After reading this book I was overwhelmed by not only God's goodness in general, but His graciousness to me! I truly am blessed as well, and hope you come away from this book with the same conviction.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you!

Summary:
This book follows the story of Missy and Jase Robertson's (from the tv show, Duck Dynasty) daughter, Mia. Mia was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate and this book documents their journey from the time they found out about Mia's diagnosis all the way through her most recent surgery.

Review:
I picked up this book because I love the Robertson family and enjoy reading their books. I didn't realize at the time, that this book was mostly about Mia and their families journey through dealing with her cleft lip and palate, but that didn't stop me from reading it anyway and I'm so glad I did. When I started this book, I didn't know much about cleft palate. I thought it only affected your looks, physically; I didn't realize that there is so much more to it that that, and that it is a very serious condition that requires multiple, major surgeries.
Missy is a great storyteller and her stories often had me laughing (Jase is so funny) as well as crying. Missy's writing is so transparent and honest and I love that she is openly sharing their story and their struggles for the benefit of others. She isn't afraid to share the doubts and fears that their family struggled with through the whole process and she isn't afraid to share about their faith and how it helped them get through. I definitely recommend this book if you have a child who was diagnosed with a serious illness, but also for anyone who wants to read a poignant story of faith, love, and hope.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I have been a Duck Dynasty fan since the beginning, but seeing their real life struggles makes me like them even more. They aren't just celebrities on TV, they are real people with real problems, who are just trying to live their everyday lives fully relying on God. Following Missy through the journey of Mia's cleft lip/palate and all the things that entails really put a lot of things in perspective. I thought Missy did a great job of explaining Mia's condition. Reading about all the struggles little Mia went through made me just want to love on her. I couldn't believe how many surgeries and doctor visits were involved with a child with this type of special needs.

I was amazed at the strength and thoughtfulness that Mia showed throughout all her surgeries and hospital visits. She sounds like an extraordinary girl who I would love to know. I only hope with any struggle I go through that I might handle it with as much faith and strength as Mia and Missy and the Robertson crew.

I was blessed with this book by Tyndale in exchange for my review. A positive review was not required.

Title :Blessed, Blessed, Blessed
Author: Missy Robertson

I love the Robertson Family! So when I found out Missy had written a book I knew I had to read it.
Missy writes briefly about her and Jase and the early years of their marriage and how she went from thinking she never wanted children ,to wanting 2 boys and a girl. She talks about the birth of each child and the troubles surrounding each of their births.
The primary focus of the book however is on their daughter Mia and journey they have faced dealing with her cleft lip and palate. Missy talks about how she tries to hold strong to her faith and belief that God is bigger than her situation, but admits to asking God why ?
One of my favorite parts of this book comes at the end, it's a letter written by Mia herself, it brought tears to my eyes.
This book is real, raw and heartfelt ...loved it.

Netgalley provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

When Missy married Jase Roberston, she knew that her marriage and life was going to be an adventure. But what she didn't know was the years ahead was also going to have challenges for both of them. After having two boys, it was a joy to find out that they was having a little girl. That time of joy was shortened when they found out their little girl had a cleft palate. Their little girl was going to be different and she would have to face a lifetime of struggles. This is their story of how Missy and Jase was able to face the struggles that was headed of them with the help of their faith and family by their side.

This book will make you laugh and bring you to tears as you read about their struggles and fun this family has went thru. Their story will give you hope and make you want to embrace them for the strength that has made this family who they are.

In this book Missy retells the story of Mia’s life and how they had to fix the cleft palate. Missy does a wonderful job of retelling the story. I was quite surprised at how long it takes to fix a cleft palate and what the child and the families go through while fixing it. Very awe inspiring.

This book does a wonderful job of showing the strength and determination Mia as well as the family had to endure this time in their lives. After reading this book, I have more admonition for this family than before. I think this book is a must read for any Duck Dynasty fan as well as anyone who has a child with a cleft palate. So go out and read this book and feel blessed.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

Even though I don't really watch Duck Dynasty, I'm still a fan of the Robertsons. I love that they are seemingly the same people they used to be even after fame, and I really admire their strong faith.

This book is primarily about Missy and Jace's daughter Mia, and her lifetime of struggles due to being born with a cleft lip and palate. Missy was very forthcoming about how difficult life has been for both Mia and the family, but this managed to be a very uplifting read anyway. I teared up a bit while reading Mia's speech at the end, and I think she seems like an amazing little girl. I'm glad they decided to share her story!

In 2017 I received the e-book, "Blessed, Blessed.....Blessed" by Missy Robertson. I knew instantly it wasn't a book I would be able to read. Missy's daughter, Mia, was born with a cleft palate and lip. She had medical special needs. My daughter also has medical special needs. Her name is Sarah, and she has hypoplastic left heart. She only has half of a heart.

This year when I went to get my COVID vaccine, I knew I would need a book because I needed to wait at least 20 minutes after getting the shot before I could leave. So I took the kindle and for some reason decided that in a room full of people, this was the book I should read. I had to start and stop several times. It is an honest, gut wrenching, emotional, difficult read. It is amazing. I have read several Robertson books, not all, but many. This is by far the best one. This is a book you should read. This is an important book.

This book hit close to home as my daughter has a series of medical challenges and special needs. In some ways it was helpful and in other ways hard to read as we are still in the initial shock phase and trying to figure out what our new life will be with our girl. I really liked the comments on grief (knowing that even if you haven’t lost your child, you have lost a lot of the plans you made for them and your family) and questioning God being okay. I also resonated with the idea that we often assume Mia’s and similar conditions can be “fixed” and have to come to peace with the idea that they have to be managed and have long-term challenges in store. We have had to come to that conclusion as well. Just because of our own experiences I will say I didn’t agree with her comments on feeding tubes. Sometimes they are best for the child and sometimes even if the family works hard, they can’t be avoided. That little section was so tough to read. Otherwise, it’s a good read!

God is using this Robertson family as an example of lived faith. This book is a witness of faith by Missy. I did myself a slight disservice by reading Jace's book, titled "Good Call.." prior to reading this "Blessed, Blessed,Blessed" book. I personally enjoyed Jace's book better, but they do have different content. This book is mainly about their journey with Mia and her cleft lip and cleft palate. Having a husband with similar cleft type issues and our oldest son with heart problems, I felt this book presented very relatable subject matter. The last chapter of this book is the best. Page 211 "Humans will never be able to recreate what only God can create, no matter how skilled they are." And I agree with Miss Kay's wise remarks that God gives us children, events, situations that He knows we can handle when we turn to Him to help us.

Grab the tissues while you read this book! An easy read but such a candid view of the Robertson family. I had been interested to hear the “whole story” regarding Mia’s cleft palate since seeing bits and pieces on the TV show. I honestly had no idea that so much went into this medical issue! The surgeries and possible complications made me very thankful for three pretty healthy little ones! Missy shares their deep and intense faith in God through this book.

This is the story of Mia Robertson, who was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, and the difficulties her family has faced. I thought this was an interesting book and an inside look at one of the Duck Dynasty families. It was good to see that the family reached out to others who are struggling with similar problems, and encouraged and shared their faith with them.

Missy Robertson is the wife of Jase Robertson. They were both on the popular Duck Dynasty TV series. This is a biography of their lives together, their Christian witness, and their Incredible faith as they deal with their daughters, cleft palate medical issue.

I enjoyed this incredible story of faith.

Jase and MIssy Robertson are the real deal. They love Jesus and their family, serving faithfully in their local church as well as all the various charitable organizations they run. If you've watched the show, you know that their daughter Mia has cleft lip and palate. In this book, Missy shares their family's journey of helping Mia--and eventually lots of other kids--with this condition.

Insightful book about seeing God’s hand in everything. This book made me a bit emotional as it hits close to home for any parent or in my case, grandparent, who has dealt with a child with a challenging diagnosis of any kind. I can see God using the entire Robertson family as disciples and I am encouraged by their example.
