Overall Opinion: This was a good story about a woman freeing herself from years of abuse with the help of a great man. Yes, technically it was a cheating book -- but not a typical one by far. Avery had attempted several times to leave her abusive husband, but because of the power he has she has been unsuccessful. This isn't a story where it is just that the woman is unhappy and steps out on her husband, or even that she is being abused and steps out on him instead of leaving him...she is literally trapped in that relationship. She desperately needed someone that she cared about to believe her and be the shoulder to cry on because her family just shoved her problems under the rug. Well...that's my 2 cents on the cheating aspect of this book.
Storyline: This is Avery and Max's story. Avery married Nathan young. He swept her off of her feet right after graduating high school, and derailed her previous plans and she became a "trophy wife" for her plastic surgeon husband. She voiced her concerns about the marriage before it even happened (because the abuse had gradually already started), but her single dad had political aspirations and Nathan's parents were a power couple with his father being the chief of police making it almost an arranged marriage. Right after they said their vows, the abuse became worse and more frequent. Nathan isolated her from anyone that really cared about her, and strategically physically, sexually, and mentally abused her to where from the outside they still appeared to be the perfect couple. Avery volunteers at the local hospital in the children's wing and this is where she meets Max who is the new pediatrician. They both are instantly attracted, but Avery hasn't felt this way about a man in a long time and it takes a while for her to become open to even a friendship. They find out that he is a neighbor when her husband leaves town for a medical conference for a week, and this is where their relationship takes a turn into romantic. This is as far as I go for summary, because there are some twists and turns, steamy times, more abuse, and then the couple do finally get their HEA.
POV:This alternated between Avery and Max's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Ok. There were no slow parts, but it was a case of "instalove" at least for Max. There was so much other stuff going on that I understood why it was necessary for feelings to develop quickly...but still kind of quick.
H rating: 4 stars. Max. I liked how supportive he was and how he encouraged her to find the woman she was before the abuse.
h rating: 4 stars. Avery. I liked how she cared for Jacob (one of the kids from the hospital) and volunteered. She was strong to not to give up when hope was pretty non-existent.
Sadness level: Moderate/high. This is an abuse story, and we experience the abuse. I personally didn't cry, but I can see where someone might.
Heat level: Moderate. The couple does have some steamy times, but just enough to further their emotional connection.
Descriptive sex: Yes.

I love to read romantic books but I want the author to make me believe in the love story without rolling my eyes and get sick from the sweetness. I was starting to think that maybe something was wrong with me when people were giving books 5 stars and I thought 3 stars. I don't like cheezy over the top stories where the author really tries to tug on your heartstrings with books made for hallmark movies. I want a realistic love story that's plausible and hero's that don't make me want to gag, and heroines that aren't put on unbelievable pedestals.
When it comes to domestic abuse you always want to say "how can she let him treat her like that and why doesn't she leave". I love how the author explained how the abuse started and why she couldn't leave. It's very sad how men can treat women that way and it's heartbreaking.
I don't always find love at first sight believable, but this was an exception. I really enjoyed the dual POV. Avery was spiraling downwards and her spirit was broken. I felt so sad for her and there were lots of scenes that brought tears to my eyes. Max was a perfect hero.
Domestic abuse is very real and sadly too many women all over the world endure this daily. I wish that these women also had a savior, a knight in shining armor to rescue them. This was a fantastic book that shed ight on a very tough topic. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend this book.

Trying to review this book is hard, what to tell you and what not to!
This book is amazing, the story, characthers and writing are superb.
Its not an easy read though as it is about a woman trapped in an abusive relationship. Avery is a vibrant young thing when she meets the handsome Nathan, before you know it they're married, they appear the golden couple ...not all that glitters is gold....
Avery has a life of hell, her husband is horrid, I wanted to cut his balls off with a blunt blade! Life for Avery is about to take a turn for the better. A new doctor is working at the hospital and there is no denying there's a connection between them.
Max is mesmerised when he spots Avery on his first day, once his initial shock of seeing the woman he wants wears off he endeavours to find out more about her. Avery tries to keep her distance, but sometimes a connection is too hard to fight, regardless of the danger it puts them both in.
I loved the connection between Max and Avery, Max is adorable, not just in comparison to the horrid Nathan, he really is a sweetie.
Max shows Avery how life could be, if only she can get away from Nathan.
A book that will take over your day, make sure you can finish it in one day as you wont want to put it down.
Emotional, upsetting in parts, sexy, romantic, but mainly breathtaking is how id describe this book.

WOW!!!
I have to say it's not for the fainted hearted as it's an emotional story revolving around domestic abuse & suicide attempt...
Avery was only 18 when she married Nathan Mason (Rich & Powerful) She had her future all planned out but as soon she laid eyes onto Nathan, she was swept of her feet as he was so charming & caring.
On the outside, she's the one every girl wants to be - perfect husband & life... Little we know that she's so unhappy & afraid...
She meets Dr Max Harrison at the hospital on children's ward doing volunteering as she's been doing it for years - her reason to live for...
Not going to say anymore, Wonderfully written story by Angela Snyder - Her best work so far!

Let me start off saying that this book was not what I expected. I had not read the book blurb as I read the authors first book and really liked it. I had assumed that this book would be of the same genre. That being said I was still not disappointed.
The story centers on two types of human relationships that couldn't be more different. It is a romance, a story of the discovery of an impossible love, while also exploring a subject that is more pervasive than we would like to admit.
Avery, young, carefree and looking forward to an adventure of travel and exploration before starting college. What she had not expected or planned for was being swept off her feet by the very sexy and successful son of the very influential parents of her father’s supporters.
It isn't long until the wolf in sheep’s clothing shows himself, but as happens, Avery's youth, inexperience and emotions outweigh her brain. The consequences will be felt for the next few years. A trophy wife in more way than one, Avery's only outlet and escape is her volunteer work at the hospital where she visits and entertains the children's ward.
Max, fresh from an excruciating break up from his fiancé, moves back to an area that holds great memories from his youth as a vacation spot while growing up. Hired as the new physician in the same children’s ward he is struck speechless at his first sight of Avery. Something he was not looking for and probably not ready for. Such is love.
Avery's reaction to the new doc is both thrilling and scary as it is unexpected. Her marriage has taught her to be cautious of male attention so when Max causes old feelings and emotions to be brought to the surface they're not welcome. At least not a first but there is a pull that cannot be denied or ignored.
Love is the theme of the story in all its complicated and ugly forms. The love of a family can be both blind and in one case cruel. The love of marriage can be corrupted to monstrous levels and the true love of passion and acceptance can survive all.
This is a book you read with emotion. You will feel the characters, you will call for blood, and you will rejoice for the miracle of true unending love that cares not what your expectations of life were but only what it has planned for your life.

The book covers a heavy subject and the author was not afraid to describe the realities of an abusive relationship.
The premise of the story was great but it was, in my opinion, extremely repetitive. Every couple of pages, Avery would talk about Nathan’s façade. Then a couple of pages later, Max would talk about how sorry he felt for her. I acknowledge that these are important points to get across to the reader but it nearly took up 75% of the book until they did anything about it. I don’t understand why it wasn’t until the end of the book where Max remembered that his mother had dealt with abusive victims. Surely, she would be the first person he’d think of when he saw Avery’s bruises at the beginning of the novel.
I didn’t like the usage of the alternating POV either. I’ve seen it done countless times but it irked me in this book. I was reading the same thing twice and nothing new came out from it. It was obvious that Max was upset from the descriptions in Avery’s POV. Of course, with the alternating POV, I had to read again that he was upset. I truly think that the story would have benefited if it was told from one POV (Avery’s). Max’s actions and words would have told us everything we needed to know.
The idea of the book was great but it could have been better executed. Things seemed to be a bit too convenient for the pair. Especially when you take into consideration all of Nathan’s “resources” – I’m surprised he didn’t have a nurse spying on Avery at work for him. Hell – I’m surprised he didn’t come home from his business trip early only to find her arriving home in Max’s car. The author portrayed him to be obsessive and powerful but even that fell flat until the last 20% of the book.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book.
I have no clue where to start! I've been waiting-sort of-patiently for months for this book. I knew it would be brilliant, but damn, it was even better than I had anticipated!
I just wanted to grab Avery from out of the book to save and hug her! She's a fantastic character, who unfortunately got the short end of the stick in the monster husband area. I could have quite happily killed Nathan, fictional I know, but still... He's an awful fictional human being!
Then there's Max... *sigh*, well he's perfect, and I wanted to take him out the book for a whole other reason! He's amazing, and is everything Avery wants and needs, but didn't dare dream of. Their connection is incredible, I just love them!
This book is written in spectacular detail and sets the scenes perfectly, you can picture everyone, everything and everywhere. Before you know it, you've been transported to a whole other story, and let me tell you, you feel every scene too! I honestly lost count of the amount of times this book made me ball like a baby! But that, for me, just says how amazing it is.
I hope people who are or have suffered with any kind of abuse, find some strength in this story, it's truly inspirational.
I really can't recommend this book enough, one click! An exceptionally talented author!

Saving Avery gives you an honest yet brutal look at spousal abuse. So if this is a trigger for you, you've been warned! The author doesn't shy away from laying it all out there, and my heart broke for what Avery endured. How her life as an adult that should have just been beginning was stolen from her by the abusive POS that was her husband.
Cue Max, her saviour. He was just perfect for her, he supported, encouraged and enabled Avery when no-one else including her pathetic family would. I thought I would be skeeved out with their relationship as there is essentially cheating in this book, but then I got to thinking. How can what they did be constituted as cheating when Nathan was abusing her so badly? I was cheering them on to go for it, not once did the cheating element bother me.
I did find it a tad bit wordy and even repetitive at times, and would have preferred the sister story line being fleshed out more. I also feel that the end of her and Nathan was wrapped up too quickly, I wanted more on that too (like Nathan being shivved!!)

I'm so glad I got a chance to read an ARC of Saving Avery! I have been so excited about this book that I couldn't wait until the release date! If you're looking for a unique romance with incredible, heartwarming characters, then this is the book for you.
Avery is a young woman who is trapped in a horrible relationship. She's starting to give up on ever finding a way out, but just in the nick of time a knight in shining armor comes to her rescue.
If there's really a such a thing as a perfect man it would be Max. He's determined to show Avery all of the great things in life that she deserves but has never had. Max is also willing to do whatever it takes to protect her.
The suspenseful plot is intense, which is why I read it in one day. I found myself cheering on the good guy, while at the same time biting my nails wondering how it would all end.

This book perfectly brings to light how easily someone's obvious suffering can go on ignored by the people around them. How difficult it can be to pull yourself out of a terrible situation, and how escape can seem impossible without help.
The mind is a soft, malleable thing, that can be pushed, pulled and reworked until the person you've become is nothing like the person you were. This happens to Avery. She is trapped in a terrifying situation that goes ignored by those around her. We learn how she began young, vibrant and carefree, and we discover how she was broken down to become submissive and frightened, unable to see any chance for escape but suicide. But, even so, under these awful conditions, Avery's story shows that with love and encouragement, you can rework yourself again, into something better, stronger, and into the person you want to be.

Saving Avery by Angela Snyder a five-star read that will astound you. This is a sublime stand-alone about a subject that I have only seen done well by three authors and I am so pleased that Angela Is one of them, I am doing a rare thing and writing this review when I haven’t fully finished the book, I am almost there but I have loved this book so hard, I am concerned that if the end goes one way I wont be able to write the review for crying every time I think of this book, and I loved it so much I felt like I had to yell it from the room tops and not let it be hidden away. Angela Snyder has dealt with a subject close to my heart and I loved it, she shows us how any woman can be affected and how you don’t have to worry about that fact, you don’t have to be strong all the time, that was part of the thing I loved most. It’s a real story with characters you will adore, don’t let this story scare you away, you need it in your life!!

This is a very emotional read I doubt you can read this and not get emotional yourself. Let me paint the picture for you. You are young just out of high school you meet a dashing man that takes your breath away. From the first night you never want to leave his side, he makes you feel special tells you, you are the most beautiful women he has ever seen. He buys you gifts and gives you the world, than you say I do and overnight your life changes. You never know what you said nor did. you just know what you did was wrong, your knight in shining amour become your devil in disguise. It starts out slow with just a slap and moves on with beatings until you do not even know the person you have become. You hide the marks he is a smart man making sure every mark he puts on you are where clothes will hide. For many years you never tell a soul…. Your one hope is to leave run as fast as you can, you run, he finds you brings you back and gives you the worse beating of your life. You might ask why didn’t your friends or family do something…they are gone as he slowly takes over your life he cuts your family away. His family is powerful they support your father in his job, when you go to your father he tells you to stay. The one time your father ask you if it is true that he hits you, you tell him no since your husband threaten to harm your father. There is no help but for one doctor who is willing to stand beside you and help you get away before it is to late….what no one knows is it might already be to late.
I thought this was a great story that the author had it down just as it could have happen. Being from an abusive family myself I have seen a lot of what the author wrote about with my mother and stepmother. I would have to say if you have been abused or you know someone you helped through this it might set a trigger off you might want to rethink this book. If you are okay with reading about abuse even rape than you should give it a try, the author does give a compelling tale with a pretty well written story. I did feel a few things were over the top I just do not see a few things going the way the author put them if you are as abuse as the character was. Most of the story I found to be believable since I lived some of it myself. There is no doubt when you read this you will have a strong reaction one way or another. It is never easy to walk away from an abusive person. It is easy for those who never lived it to say she should have left or why doesn’t she leave. It is never that easy when one controls your life breaking you to their will.
I found the characters to be likeable they are sure to reach deep in your heart. They were easy to relate to. You will want to grab Avery hold her tight and take her way where you keep her save. Avery is just a sweet heart of a lady, kind, caring and gives so much of herself to the sick children it will break your heart. Max you will adore he is not only handsome but caring, loving and so giving. With one look you will know why Avery fell madly in love with him. Nathan you will want to kill with your bare hands for the evil controlling person he is that he could see what he truly had in his hands if he only had the love in his heart to give. What is so funny is people like him really think they are showing their love and can’t understand why you hate them. They demand control, all your time, and above all else love until death you do part. In their eyes your death can and will be arranged you belong to them and they will never let you go until you die.
I would have like to have seen what had happen to Nathan, along with what the sister would have come up with. I felt I was left hanging on these issues. I really can’t tell you more without giving the story away. The ending was outstanding and will give you hope for mankind. I am giving this a 4.5 rounding it up to a 5 star

Saving Avery is one of these books I knew I would love, just by reading the blurb. I already read two books Angela Snyder wrote and each time, it was a real pleasure. I enjoyed the writing and the story so much. And today, I am glad to talk to you about Saving Avery. As you can see, this is not an easy story to read, meaning the topics are sensitive. Domestic violence is an awful and monstruous thing, one of the worst a human can do to another. So I really wanted to read a story where it was about saving. And here it is, thanks to Angela !
For the third time, I'm impressed by Angela's writing. I think it must have been really hard to tell the story of Avery and Max, but she did very well. There was no cliché, it was balanced, the romance felt realistic and so beautiful. Right after I started this novel, I cared deeply for the characters and that's thanks to the way Angela wrote her book.
There were moments when I wanted to skip a few pages cause I hated feeling Avery's pain and fear. As Max said it, she only deserved the best, and he gave her that. What a great, beautiful and loving person he is ! You will fall for him too, not just becaue he was the exact opposit of Avery's abusive husband. He was a true hero, no need of a shining armor and a white horse.
Beside the parts where Avery wasn't happy, the whole book really was about saving Avery and for her, to find back who she was before she met Nathan. It was fun, lighthearted and hot too. I could get into Avery's skin and I was truly delighted to watch her discovering love and pleasure. It was a long way to get home, to get to Max, but in the end, the story and characters were well developped and interesting.
What can I say besides you have to read Saving Avery ! I was given an Arc in exchange of an honest review and I'm happy I didn't miss this excellent book. I think it was, even if there were dark moments, a positive, intense and moving story. Angela Snyder became one of my favorite authors right after I read Vampire Next Door, and every time I read a new story be her, it confirms that. Saving Avery's publication is on the 21st of July and right now you can preorder for only 2.99$ !

Avery is a carefree young girl who plans to travel the world when she meets Nathan, the son of her father's friends.
They have a world wind romance and end up get married quite quickly. But instead of a marriage filled with love and happiness Avery finds herself trapped in a life devoid of love and full of domestic violence. Humiliation, rape and daily violence became the norm for Avery and her once lively spirit is beaten down.
Then she meets Max.
Max is a doctor at the hospital where Avery volunteers and the two have an instant connection. Avery tries to avoid him at all costs as the last man to flirt with her ended up in a Coma at the hands of her husband. But with Max being the only light at the end of a very dark tunnel she finds it hard to ignore him. Avery loves that her old self is starting to shine through the cracks and knows it's all down to Max. As much as he enjoys being with him Avery knows her husband is a very dangerous and well connected man and tries to warn Max off but he is more determined than ever to help her escape Nathan's hold.
This book left me with mixed feelings. Is certainly not one for the faint hearted. Some parts were light hearted and fun ( I loved the karaoke) and then it would switch to heartbreaking and disturbing. Thank goodness I don't have any triggers but I found some of these scenes hard to read and squirmed on many occasions. That just shows how well written this book is as I wanted to help this poor women and at times felt as helpless as Avery did. It's hard as a women to read about these things happening to another women.
The author did such a good job conveying the utter hopelessness Avery felt in the harsh life she was enduring that by the time the romance came into it, it took me some time to fall into the love story side. There is a tonne of angst in this book and I didn't come away feeling light and airy but it was a really interesting read and brought up a lot of questions and had a satisfactory conclusion.
7 out of 10 Very good, would definitely recommend a long soak with this one. Also a few lighthearted cartoons on standby for when you've finished reading it.

SAVING AVERY will take you on an emotional roller coaster. I admit I have not read many books with this type of storyline as I know it will affect me quite deeply. This story makes you appreciate the wonderful man you have in your life and hope that your own daughter will have the same.
Angela Snyder takes you on a journey, you have to be strong for Avery and know that in your heart at some point after a bleak winter she will be given a spring season to burst out in full colour and new beginnings. The way Avery's inner turmoil was described along with her coping mechanisms had me riveted to the pages and I admit I ignored all duties and read this book in two days, I could not put it down as you knew you were going to experience the bad before hopefully some happiness.
The story flowed really well for me, at some points I could feel myself shaking with fear for the unknown wondering when the other ball would drop so to say. I too found myself nervous to turn the pages when her husband came home, when she was having lunch at the hospital with Max or the phone rang, it is amazing how I felt I was transported in a way to stand side by side with Avery trying to protect her like Max. I was surprised we had so many moments of wonderful happiness for Avery, it gave me hope to keep turning those pages and know that Angela would give her a happy ever after.
Towards the conclusion to this story it does become brutal & frightening but is relevant and required and although heartbreaking I can say it is worth it in the end. Max's family and also eventually Avery's dad made my skin tingle and my heart soar when they stepped up to the plate to play their important roles.
The ending made the journey through the book so worthwhile and I would pick this up again to read as the messages within the pages are simply inspiring. Fantastic story telling Angela Snyder I am going to go and stalk your other books as your writing is simply beautiful.

When we first meet Avery, she is a typical teenage girl. Freshly graduated from high school and looking to ditch her fathers graduation party in order to go and party with her friends but on her way out the door, she comes runs into the Mason's, a true power couple and her father's close friends. With them is there very handsome son Nathan. Avery finds herself immediately bewitched by Nathan and his dashing looks and charming persona and soon forgets about leaving to join her friends.
Perfection is truly never as it seems and Avery soon discovers that Nathan has two very different personalities. One is charming and loving and the other is abusive and controlling. Avery attempts to leave him many times, but he always finds her and the punishment she receives is worse than the time before.
Avery is permitted to volunteer at the hospital on a daily basis but must adhere to a very strict time sensitive schedule. It is during on of her volunteer shifts that she meets Max, a handsome and sweet paediatrician who has just started at the hospital. Avery knows that she is not to talk to men and tries to ignore him but Max has other ideas.
I don't want to give the whole story away but I will warn you that it IS a story about one woman's life of sever domestic violence. Parts of this story contain verbal abuse, physical abuse and even rape. If these things offend you then this is not the book for you, but if like me, you enjoy a story that touches on real issues without the need to sugar coat it, then this is definitely the book for you.
Oh and just so you know, the good guy always wins :)

Saving Avery is the kind of book that will leave so emotionally exhausted that you’ll need to take a break from reading for a few days. Snyder’s tale follows Avery’s journey from external darkness to finding her internal light. Her situation honestly could be ripped from any newspaper headline. Her life is far from the perfection she plays it out to be. Her husband is abusive and she endures it because the man who she once loved more than the world itself it now gone. When Max comes into her life, she is given a chance of happiness, but her husband and his family will have nothing of the sort. They’ve given her everything and they’ll take it away just as quickly, leaving her stripped bare for the entire world to see.
Angela’s story is one of the most believable works of fiction that I have had the pleasure of reading this year. The story flowed seamlessly and I experienced the emotions that Avery felt during her ordeal as if she and I were the same being. Her story is the kind of life that makes it on a 60 minutes special. Avery deserves a chance at happiness after she endured so much in her life, but she has to fight for every minute of freedom she gets. The ending cements the perfection that is Saving Avery. Avery’s life may be far from perfect, but her book is sheer literary perfection at its finest.

Let me start out, by congratulating Angela Snyder on a marvelous, astounding, encouraging; a nail biter to the end of the book, should be an award winning book!!
Angela you brought me into this book and kept me in it for two days straight reading; only putting it down for my 3 yr old, cooking, sleeping, etc. lol
I myself was on the verge of being controlled by a former fiancé , before I met my wonderful husband, Ricky. I was lucky to be able to fight and leave, but my friend who took my leftovers was unfortunate.
Anyways, the power of Avery's story was just amazing, incredible and how she hated it all, but took that pain, sadly. Then, she stood up for herself .... Thank God for her Knight and Shining Armor, Matt who walks in! I honestly felt like I knew this couple, like I could sit down and talk with them face to face. If that were to happen we would be friends for life bc this woman is a SURVIVOR, A FIGHTER!!
I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed this book, but people, no matter if you have not been thru abuse or anything near something like this, should read this book, bc it can show you the signs if a loved one is in trouble.

Avery plans to take a year out to travel through Europe before embarking on her college venture. When she meets Nathan a successful Plastic
Surgeon, she is smitten and abandons all her plans.
They get married and not long after, Avery realises that Nathan isn't who he appears to be. He dictates each and every aspect of her life and she is subjected to mental and physical abuse. She is no longer the carefree person she used to be and working on the children's ward is the only place she feels happy.
Max has just started work in the hospital where Avery works and they both feel a connection between them when they first meet. Avery avoids interacting with Max for fear of what Nathan might do if they form any kind of relationship, besides Max makes her "feel"!
Max senses that something is wrong with Avery and becomes intent on finding out why she always looks so unhappy. Will he succeed in finding the cause of Avery's problems? He would do anything to make her happy but will Avery ever manage to get away from Nathan?
This story is full of surprises and there is betrayal where least expected. There is cruelty, despair, pain and uncertainty. Can true love prevail?
I like Avery's compassion despite all her heartaches and Max's determination and dedication even when everything is going against them. A very poignant story with palpable emotions.

I don't even know where to begin, it's kinda hard to see the keyboard from the tears. I'm not gonna lie the reason I wanted this book was because of the name Avery, that's my daughter's name. I read the first page and was like wow, this was me last year. I was in the same exact spot. Just wanting it to be over. I have read a few books with the main character being the subject of domestic violence but for some reason this one touched my heart more than any of them. I connected so much with Avery, having to put on the fake smiles in public, wearing long sleeves in the summer, and being terrified if I was late. The only difference is I have three small children. They have seen so much for their young ages and it breaks my heart that I stayed in that situation for so long. Nathan. So handsome and charming to everyone that doesn't matter. He is a douche, that's all I can say about him that would be acceptable for a book review. Allison. I would love to throat punch her really, really hard. Max. Where oh where can I find my Max. If I ever think about starting over, they will have to meet Max's qualifications. He has such a good heart and soul. He is selfless and pure. He is just simply amazing. I've never really written a review before so I hope this is okay. This book was simply amazing and I wish I could give it more than just 5 stars.

Avery Mason….her life looks perfect from the outside but from the inside Avery suffers mental and physical abuse at the hands of her once loving husband Nathan.Avery is slipping further and further into the shadow of her former self fearing she will never escape but just when she thinks theres no hope she meets Max.He is a doctor hes transferred from Chicago to North Carolina,he meets Avery at the hospital where she volunteers she fears what wll happen if she talks to him so tries to steer clear,but he has other ideas when his eyes meet hers he sees the pain shes trying to hide there.They start to buid a friendship which then turns into a relationship Max wants to take her away from her tortured life but will it be that easy Nathan and his family are powerful and wont let her just leave.Can Max protect her and help her escape the clutches of Nathan once and for all and what lengths wil Nathan go too t keep Avery where she belongs?
This book is by no means an easy read it deals with the subject of abuse,its raw and gritty,heartbreaking and wont be for everyone,but its also a story of finding love when you least expected too.I read it n one go and I look forward to this authors next book.

Saving Avery is a harrowing, behind-the-scenes look at an abusive marriage. The characters are portrayed with such conviction and authenticity, readers will sympathize with the victims as if they know them personally. Being a woman--one who has fortunately never been affected by abuse--many of the scenes were unfathomable and painful to read. It's too easy for an outsider to say, "Just leave the jerk," and many situations are more possible to escape than others, I'm sure. But in this story, the main character, Avery, simply had no options. It was a matter of life and death for her and many others.
It was riveting to experience how the author tied all the backstories on the characters together in one, anything-but-neat little package as the story unfolded. The writing was compelling and genuine, though I truly hope this author has never suffered any of the horrendous acts described in this tale.
I commend this author for having the courage to write about such a sensitive subject, and for the flawless execution of a story that needs to be told to perhaps help others who are suffering find their own inner savior.

It's been quite some time since I've read a book that's made me feel such a wide range of emotions all at once. I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of it, knowing that eventually evil in human form, aka Nathan, would find out about the slice of happiness and peace Avery finds in Max and do everything in his power to take it away from her. The text really flows easily, and I honestly just couldn't put it down. There's very vivid imagery surrounding all of the bad that happens to Avery, and Angela does a great job of giving the reader a very real picture of domestic abuse in all of its ugliness. But she does an equally good job of sharing with the reader the joy that Avery finds along the way as well.
I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so just stop what you're doing and pre-order this for the 21st right now. Also, make sure you schedule lots of reading time once you get your hands on it. You won't be able to put it down. I'm really just sad that I'm finished and am already looking forward to this author's next book.

OMG..This book...It was heartbreaking and a simply wonderful book. There is not many times when I read a book that I become completely 100 invested. This book was unbelievable heartbreaking. What Avery has to go through no one should. This is a story I think everyone should read.
I love love love Avery, she is in this dark, lonely, scary , heartbreaking situation. To her there looks like no way out. Even though her life seems hopeless. She is so amazing and strong, I was rooting for her this whole book.
Max..I can not get over how perfect he was.. He literally did everything right, he was the shoulder to lean on, the encouragement she needed and he stuck by when most people would have walked away.
There are a few characters on my SHIT LIST in this book....When you read them let me know what you think. I cause I could not believe A... WTH...But I believe she caught what was coming to her.
This book had my heart racing, I was literally devouring this book just to see what was going to happen. Great book. This is definitely a must read.

As much as I like Angela Snyder's first novel, "Vampire Next Door", I have to say I enjoyed this book even more! I even ended up staying up way too late to finish it. I won't give any spoilers away in this review, but know that the characters and flow of this story are top notch. All the characters are fully developed and continued to surprise me as the story went on, Avery especially. Just when you think everything is hopeless she shows you another side of her that catches you, and might I say a hot, male character, completely off guard. There were parts in this story that were hard to read, but that is a testament to what a talented author Angela Snyder is. When you can create an uncomfortable situation, then write one filled with happiness and wonder, to then jump to another scene that causes you to break out the Kleenex... well, you know that you have an author that knows how to work her magic and has a talent for weaving words into a wonderful masterpiece. Give this read a chance, I promise you won't regret it

I'd have to say that this has been one of the easiest books to fall in love with. Once starting this book I had not anticipated how difficult it would be to put it down.
Though wonderfully written by a talented author this book was quite emotional to say the least . Dealing with difficult issues of domestic abuse and suicide attempt . Each encounter between the characters for example, Avery and her abusive husband were each written with great detail bringing you a sense of what kind of life Avery lived.
I absolutely loved her character and the strength she brought into the storyline amongst others who brought laughter, a bit of annoyance but most of all true love.
This is a story about never giving up even when you think you have nothing worth living for. Loved the message in the story and the emotional roller coaster it took me on. Will definitely be reading this one again.

Saving Avery is one of those memorable books that would linger way after you finish reading it. That was how I felt when I first got my hands on it and that is still how I feel after I am long done with it. What is so good about it is the reality that Avery’s story could happen to anybody. The book is so well-written and the details are so vivid that I thought I was reading someone’s diary and not a fictional story. The author was able to convey an important message without distorting the reality of it. The portrayal of Avery’s journey to salvation was often harsh and difficult that I want nothing but a happy ending for her and Max. In the end, will true love trump all? Will Avery finally get the life and the man she deserves? Will Max be able to save Avery? Get this book and find out. You won’t regret a moment of it.
