Gypsy Hunted her first fiction novel (her first suspense thriller set in her home town of Melbourne Australia) is available for pre-order on Amazon
Since Gypsy Hunted was published in 2014 there has been a prequel released (Gypsy Life: The Gypsy Medium Series Prequel) which, as well as being a good read in its own right, gives the reader a greater insight into the characters in this series and their relationships to one another. Though it isn't entirely necessary, I would recommend reading it first to familiarise yourself with the characters and their roles.
After a very serious incident twelve months previously which almost claimed Gypsy's life and, in a bonus twist of good fate cemented her relationship with detective Connor O'Reardon, she had settled into relationship bliss, now considering him to be the love of her life. Though they have had some struggles with different family members on both sides which has caused some tension, their bond remains tighter than ever.
In the meantime Gypsy has experienced a bit of a hiatus in her psychic activities since the accident but has enjoyed the otherwise uncomplicated shift into her new relationship status with Connor... Hence it came as a bit of a surprise when Gypsy woke from a deep slumber one night to notice the apparition of a little girl standing at the foot of her bed beside a rocking cradle. It took Gypsy a few moments to realise that this was in fact an apparition and not a figment of her momentary sleep disordered state. The girl confirmed as much by telepathically communicating with Gypsy. She said her name was Isabella and she had some disturbing news for Gypsy which begged her immediate involvement or interference, if things weren't to go horribly bad. Isabella would only tell Gypsy enough to get her immediate attention to follow through and said that she would give her more information as she herself became aware of it, but at the moment she couldn't say more.
Gypsy's relationship with Connor's niece Christie, had been strained since her brother Aaron's involvement in Gypsy's near death experience the year before which landed him in prison. So it was with a lot of trepidation that she received the news from Isabella telling her that she must intervene before something dreadful happens to Christie. How will Gypsy handle this, knowing how close Connor is to Christie and the potential for disaster in more ways than one?!
Lots of suspense happening that will keep you wanting to turn pages! This was a really good story with loads of twists and I can see future books from this author going from strength to strength.
I often wondered at the title of the book and if it had a particular bearing on the story, I was pleasantly surprised to discover it's relevance late into the book...I thought it a very clever twist which I had not guessed at.
Gypsy Shields had been free of psychic messages for a while now – ever since she had been almost killed eleven months previously. So she was a little surprised to have the jolting message disturb her dreams; it had never happened in her dreams, but now it seemed the spirit of a little girl, approximately nine years old by the name of Isabella was trying to warn her of danger. Gypsy’s boyfriend Connor had a niece Christie – it was she who was in danger. Now she had to get involved once again to save Christie from someone she trusted – would she believe her? Would anyone believe her?
Inviting Ryan (Christie’s boyfriend) and Christie to dinner with Connor and Gypsy was meant to be a time to build bridges – for Connor and Christie to become closer as a family – but disaster struck when Gypsy told her she was in danger. Christie had recently lost her grandfather to cancer and was missing him dreadfully. The stress and tension was eating at her so when Gypsy told her someone wanted to hurt her she freaked out. Her total disbelief of what she was being told meant the danger moved even closer…
As Gypsy tried to convince Connor of the truth of what she was saying, the strained relationships began to tell on everyone – it seemed Gypsy’s niece Renee, and Isabella were the only two who could help her stop this terrible tragedy taking place. What would Gypsy do? Would Christie be safe from the determination of a would-be killer?
I really enjoyed Gypsy Cradle by Aussie author Andrea Drew, so much so that I whipped through it in a few hours! The tension was gripping with suspense and chills throughout and the plot was completely intriguing. I have no hesitation in recommending this “psychic paranormal thriller” highly (it’s heavier on the “thriller” aspect).
With thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.
Gypsy is happy with her new boyfriend Connor, things seem to be going right in her life. Then she has a strange strange vision of a rocking cradle, and an eerie little girl named Isabella. She tells Gypsy that Connor’s niece Christie is in danger from someone she trusts. But Christie does not believe her, neither does Connor.
Gypsy's relationship is already strained with Christie, and Connor still is not sure he can believe her (Gypsy). This puts a strain on their relationship. But Gypsy is determined to get to the truth save Christie, regardless of who believes her. It seems only the spirit Isabella and Gypsy's young niece Renee can help her.
I really like Gypsy, she is kind, down to earth, and her special ability (to hear other peoples thoughts) makes her unique. Young Renee shares the same ability, and is able to communicate with Christie, through their minds without speaking out loud. She is just as likable. Then we meet Isabella, a young "spirit" who just wants to help. She was likable too.
A well written fast paced edge-of-your seat paranormal/thriller. Family secrets in Christie and Connors lives surface, which adds to the page-turning suspense. There is just enough drama, romance and suspense to make for a perfect blend in this exciting, original paranormal/romantic-thriller. Great as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading book one Gypsy Hunted.
I also love the cover art, it fits perfect with the story. I was lucky to get a chance to read and Arc copy of this fantastic story. Available April 27, 2015.
Gypsy Cradle is an amazing book. This is the second book in the series. After having the honoring ofring which she explains that sh reading the first book GYPSY . I felt very honored by the author to be asked to read and review the second. I was given an ARC by Andrea Drew in exchange for an honest opinion of GYPSY CRADLE. This is Mismousey’s very honest opinion of the book.
From the moment that you open the book. You are captivated with excitement .and intrigue- along with mystery. This story has you so wrapped up that before you know you have finished reading the entire book in less than 2 hours.
Ms Drew has done such a remarkable job with taking the pen to paper and telling this fantastic story. The characters themselves tell the what is going on so excellent and to the point. That you feel you their pain especially Gypsy’s as she is trying to save the life of her true Conner daughter.
When I read Gypsy , I thought WOW- this is magnificent . The story just can’t get any better than this. But hey was Mismousey wrong. This story was taken to a whole new level and then some!
This is about a women named Gypsy- who can see ghost and talk with them. Strange -yes to some-but not to her . During the course of her dreams a little girl named Isabella visits her. And lets her know that something bad is going to happen to someone very close to her and she has to save her. It takes her a few days to figure out who this person is- but when she does. Gypsy tells Conner about her dream and what is suppose to happen. He tells her not to go Christie an her boyfriend to warn them. They don’t believe her. Matter of fact- they yell at her and demand that she leave there house at once.A few days later Christie ends up in the hospital. They think she is having a mental breakdown. But Gypsy knows better. That there is something more wrong with her.
Will they believe her in her time to save her ?? And how does the cradle play into to this amazing and fascinating story?? Now in order to find out all of this - You need to read his amazing an edge of tyour seat book. This book has so many twist and turns - a whole lot of mystery in it. It keeps you on the edge of your set . It is a diffident MUST READ for a every paranormal lover!! And I have to say I sure do hope there is a book 3 in this amazing series!! I would love to see what happens next with Gypsy!! Mismousey gives a firm rating of 60 out 5 stars and does recommend the GYPSY Cradle to all readers especially those that love a GENIUS OF A PARANORMAL READ!! Andrea Drew you have done it again !!! You rock!!!
THIS BOOK IS RELEASING ON APRIL 27TH PER-ORDER YOUR COPY TODAY! DO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR RUN AND GET YOUR COPY NOW!!!
Another great book in the series. Although this book is a continuation of the series I think enough details are provided to follow the storyline and this story has its own plot. Gypsy uses her physic ability to determine exactly what happened to her boyfriend Connor's niece, Christie. At first no one believes that Christie is in danger and things are already strained between Christie and Gypsy. When Christie ends up in the hospital with a strange illness the only one who is able to help is Isabella, and she speaks to Gypsy through her dreams. Are they able to save Christie in time and just who is Isabella? * I received a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Note: This book can be read as either a standalone story, or ideally as book 2 in the Gypsy Series. Connor and Gypsy finally get it on romantically and of course Gypsy drops the f bomb every now and then, because that's how she rolls...
Book Review: Oh where to start? This book had me hooked from the first paragraph just as Gypsy Hunted did. This was a fantastic book! I can't give it enough praise and am absolutely in love with Author Andrea Drew's amazing ability as a writer and in how she crafts her stories, giving you just a bit of information and clues at a time to keep you wanting to read more and then at the end yelling into space that you weren't finished with the story yet, that you want more, so much more from this magnificent storyteller!! I had to force myself to read this book in sections or else I would have been up all day and night reading it in one setting, already knowing what to expect from Author Drew from her first book Gypsy Hunted which was also exquisitely done. But, this book would not let me rest in peace at night! Nope, it's amazing and very realistic and complex characters haunted my dreams even as the book called me back to its pages for ever more of the story. Needless to say, after one night of haunted dreams, I had to heed its mesmerizing call and read the rest of it in one sitting! The storyline is well thought out and brilliantly executed as well as being fast paced and highly engaging. The plot, characters, scenes, settings, and dialogue were majestic in their creation and complexity. The way clues are given slowly throughout the storyline and the complexity of everything just amazes me at how Author Andrea Drew was able to keep everything straight in her head while completing the hard work of an author which is not as easy as some think it is. A tremendous amount of work, heart and soul went into another fantastic creation of Drew's books.
The character development as I said was complex and realistic and yet left just enough to the readers imagination with their descriptions allowing the reader to really visualize what he or she is reading in a way that makes a profound impact upon them. This is going to be another best seller for sure! I would absolutely love to see Gypsy Hunted and Gypsy Cradle both made into movies as they would be the best I have ever seen and believe me, I have already seen the movies playing out in my mind as I read both books.
Author Andrea Drew has a tremendous gift when it comes to writing realistic and majestic stories that are not only full of suspense, intrigue, mystery and thrill the senses but take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride that leaves them gripping the edge of their seat and wanting so very much more at the same time.
If you have not read this book, make sure you read it today. I promise you it will be one of the best reads of your year or even your lifetime!
I highly recommend this book to all readers, not to just those in the thriller/mystery/suspense genres.
******Disclosure of Material Connection****** I received a free copy of this book from the author, Andrea Drew. I was not required to provide a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16CFR, Part 255.
I was invited to read this book by the author, since I had read and reviewed book one in this series, Gypsy Hunted. I remember liking the book, though I had some issues with it. Mainly the inconsistencies in the character and the time sequences in the book. I am happy to report, that in this book, those problems were corrected.
This book takes place 11 months following the end of Gypsy Hunted. Gypsy and Conner are living together, but the focus of this book isn't on their relationship. It's on Connor's niece Christie and her attempted murderer. Gypsy and Conner's relationship is strained because of the consequences Gypsy takes when Christie is in the hospital.
I would have like to have found out more about Connor's gift of Sentinel. It has been hinted at and glossed over. Of course, he is in denial about his gift, so that is part of it, but it's still an unclear idea.
The time sequences were more spelled out in this book than the last. However if you aren't paying attention, you could still get confused. The story doesn't run in a strictly linear fashion. When a scene breaks with one character, in many instances time rewinds to show another. So noting the dates and times listed at the top of each section are vital to know when you are in the story.
Overall, I think this book was an improvement over the last book. It could probably be read as a stand alone, but to really understand everything that Gypsy and Conner went through to get where they are, I recommend book one first. I don't remember it being spelled out that the story is set in Australia and I would really have liked to see some more local color added to the story. As it was, it could have taken place in most any large town or small city. I gave this book 3 stars.
Thanks to the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Gypsy risks everything to protect and uncover the poisoning of Connor's niece Christie. The family secrets, mistrust and secrets lead to break ups, make ups and reality check for Gypsy, Christie, Connor and Ryan. Christie's best friend, wants her man and will go to any length to get what he wants. Unfortunately, Ryan refuses to listen causing delays in learning the truth and saving Christie. Time for the truth to be told and the secrets revealed, whether people are read or not.
Brilliant, even more exciting than the first book in the series, and i didn't think that would be possible, I just couldn't put this book down and read it in a day, Gypsy and Connor took me on a roller coaster ride, and i was so enthralled i was at the end before i knew it, this is a great series :)
Gypsy Cradle by Andrea Drew is book two in the Gypsy Medium Series but it can be read as a stand alone book. I personally don't know why you would want to though since book one (Gypsy Hunted) was a good book and you will miss a lot of how they got to where they are in book two but what you need to know from the first book is mentioned in this book so it does make sense even if you didn't read book one. The author wrote a great description of the book which you can read for yourself so I will not recap the story other than to say that this fictional, psychic paranormal thriller does have some foul language (but not much) so those easily offended may wish to pass on reading this.
I found the plot of the book was well thought out and I enjoyed the new characters. I felt they were developed enough so they were not flat although I wished there was more about Isabella and Connor's gifts but as I said above, this is a series so I expect there will be more in the next book. The main characters were all developed a bit more and I found them interesting and enjoyed reading about their gifts.
The timeline in the book was more consistent in this book although the need to pay attention to the dates and times is sort of distracting. The chapters do jump from one set of characters and setting to others and it may have went back in time from what was happening in the previous chapter. By this I mean the chapter I just read could be taking place on January 20th but the next chapter takes place on January 19th. Granted, that these jumps are new characters within their setting and not the same characters as the previous chapter and I know the author was just trying to keep everyone in the same time frame but it leads to some choppiness in the story and if I wasn't paying attention to it, maybe a little confusing. I found that as I got into the story, the dates and times were less important since it flowed more easily and when I looked at the book as a whole, it did follow what I perceived as a consistent timeline.
So to sum it up, I thought the book was good and enjoyed to the plot, characters, and the thrill.

Connor wanted his daughter to have a psychic reading with his girlfriend, Gypsy. Although the two didn't get along, Connor was hoping that it would change for the better. As for Gypsy. She'd had a psychic dream that someone was trying to kill Christy. When Gypsy and Christy sat down to talk, Gypsy's ghost girl showed up and was insistent that Gypsy tell her that someone was going to poison her. Christy was really angry when Gypsy told her and stormed off. Since Connor was her (uncle) father, Gypsy was afraid that Connor would choose to believe Christy. However, Gypsy knew that she had no choice but to keep on doing what was right. Besides, Isabelle (the ghost girl) would keep after her to save Christy's life.
I've been enjoying this paranormal series immensely so far, staying up nights to find out what is going to happen in the end. This book, especially, had a delightful twist at the end. The strange thing about this series, in the Kindle version at least, are the number of errors in punctuation. These errors make some sentences bizarre, and are also quite distracting. I'm wondering how a thing like this happens in published works that involve an editor. Despite these errors, the books are entertaining and well worth reading.
Gypsy Cradle is the first book I have ever read by Andrea Drew and I didn't realize that this was the second book In the series so I am excited to drive into the first book to get the full story of things past that were mentioned in Gypsy Cradle. Now makes sense why at times I was a little confused, but the author does a great job in the fact that if you haven't read the first book you will still enjoy this one! That said, I love that the author writes from all of the main character's points of view. I am excited to continue reading books by this author!
I dont remmie the actual date of when I did read this book, I've read the series and everything else she's written, except for the SECRET pen name she refuses to reveal... BUT I love this series! And Andrea Drew! The book title was stuck on my "to read" list here at Goodreads, but I DID already read it ;-)
I enjoyed the book. Good editing, interesting storyline. Some of the characters weren't as full dimensional as book one. You get the motives but not anymore than that. I enjoyed the Isabella character and knew how she fit in easily. Good reading, more light than the first book.
I could read more about these characters but am a bit troubled by the rash actions of Gypsy. Seems a trend these days is to make the female lead not only hard headed but too rash .....
Enjoyed the story but wish Gypsy would stick up for herself without being antagonistic. And Connor needs to trust her talent more. I wanted to knock both their heads together
There was no mystery to this story as the villain was revealed quite early on. What was confusing was the different perspectives. Each chapter was written with what a character was feeling and what was happening. There was no clear indication to who the chapter was about until a few lines were read. Otherwise, the story was good and loved reading about gypsy and Connor.
