What happens when that love shit gets in the way of that thug shit? Can the love survive or will it all go up in smoke? For Teedra Hinson, the answers to these questions was sketchy. She was on the brink of giving up on love or anything associated with the four-letter word. She already lost her first love, Victor, due to his thuggish lifestyle, the lies he told, the secrets he kept, and the headaches associated with it. A chance encounter with Aldris aka Tej, opens her up more than just the way she thinks…he may even open her heart. The question is- will she let her old baggage get in the way of a new flame?
Aldris “Tej” Aldridge, spent his life on the bad path, but the death of his older brother, the death of his son, and a stint in jail changed him for better. He became legit. His personal life wasn’t great at all. The last two women he gave his heart to, proved to be disloyal. By chance, he meets Teedra and gets hope to have love again. Will it last or will the third strike result in a man turning cold?
Todd aka Polo had so much weighing on his shoulders because his occupation was complex. All he wanted was peace and to live comfortably with his life. He had problems from his side piece not staying in her lane, his baby mother not being happy with him, and his lack of support of what he was doing in the streets. During his quest of finding himself, he will have a shot of redemption, love, and peace. Will he be able to hold on to it or will the streets ruin everything?
Follow these three as they navigate through everyday life and that thug love.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The boys use to be hustlers , but they changed their ways for the better. They found and fell in love with women who encouraged them to be better men. With happiness comes jealousy, greed, and deceit by someone who is supposed to be a friend. Polo and the crew have to go back to their street ways when his pregnant fiancé is kidnapped and held for ransom. They didn't stop until Natalie was found unharmed. They thought it was over, but there's a new threat brewing.
Book started off kinda of boring.. it definitely got better.. i got anxiety when they kidnapped Natalie.. bout to read part 2 cuz i have to see what happens to tee and tej
This was a heartfelt read. It proved a point that even though you can hustle, you can still change your life around. With the help of women who encouraged them, these young men left the hustling alone. Of course their happiness was tested when jealousy, greed and deceit came into play by someone that they thought was a friend. The ending brought me to tears. I hope that things turn around for the good in part 2.
OMG where do I start, that ending was so unexpected, like I'm sitting here stunned. I love your style of writing, this book was very descriptive and it kept me entertained from start to finish. It's refreshing to read a book without the drug dealer and stripper storyline. You did a great job. I'm going to start on part two right now.
Just when you thought every one would have a happy ending drama is always lurking. I liked this story because all the guys seemed to be upstanding guys that adored their women and their families. I think this book is a good read and recommend it it's not your typical urban book. Good job Queen Keishii.
Please don't let her lose the baby, and her husband. They are a cute little couple.Let Todd keep it together for Natalie they have been thought so much.Let them have some happiness.
I would recommend this book. It was fast paced and filled with a lot of drama. I would have given it 5 stars but in some instances each character was saying the same. I will definitely read part 2.
I thought this book was complete, but it fooled me in the end. I can't wait to read what's in the next episode. Plenty of surprises and these couples can't catch a break!
The storyline was good. It doesn't focus much on drugs and things that you find in a typical urban read. The editing was off though, which confused me at times.
