Book 4 in the No.1 Bestselling IVY LESSONS series.
READERS SAY … Marc Blackwell is back and he’s sexier than ever … Mr Blackwell cracks the whip. Literally. I cannot get enough of Marc Blackwell – he is like Christian Grey and Ian Somerhalder rolled into one.
BOOK DESCRIPTION If Sophia thought marriage to her handsome, troubled teacher would be easy, she has a lot to learn …
Marc Blackwell is as controlling as ever, and determined to keep Sophia in line.
Sophia can only hope that her light will soften Marc’s darkness. And that as his wife she can show him what love truly means.
But one things is for certain. In marriage, Mr Blackwell is in charge. And Sophia must learn to obey …
What a follow up book for SK in the Ivy Lessons series.
I just loved the way Marc was in this book, the over protective husband, taking it to the next level in dominance. Plus with the whole other aspect of the baby he takes it to the extreme but in a loving way. Sophia has grown as a person and you can feel it in the words, standing up to Marc more and more.
I really liked the way that with all the challenges that were put in front of Marc and Sophia that they got stronger together as a married couple.
The twist in the book I didn't see that one coming and I want to see what happens with that coming up.
Can't wait for the next Marc and Sophia book.
If you love a student and teacher romance with a bit of Domination and submission thrown in you will love this series.
I'll be the first to admit that I absolutely LOVED the first book of the Ivy Lessons. Marc Blackwell was definitely a teacher I wouldn't mind breaking all the rules with. However, as the series has progressed, I've been less than enthused about the direction it has taken, and at this point I'm not even sure I want to continue when the next book releases this winter. The rich playboy who doesn't care about women, likes all kinds of kinky sex but reforms himself for the innocent, young virgin whom he marries and has a baby with storyline seems a little played out to me.
This is my first time reading past the original trilogy and in all honesty, I found The Blackwell Lessons to be predictable and thus rather boring. It’s almost like Groundhog Day but with a different setting.
I don’t know if having fewer chapters to allow the story to continuously flow would make a difference to the way I feel about this series - it’s rather stop/start throughout. However, that still wouldn’t change Sophia and I am not a huge fan of hers to say the least. I may like witnessing her standing up to Marc, but that’s about all.
Strangely though, I’m still intrigued. Whether it’s nostalgia for a story I have placed high on a pedestal for so long I am unsure. Do I want to spend the next couple of days reading the next book in the series? Not right now. Though I may go back to it once I have had a break.
I’m gutted to award The Blackwell Lessons 2 stars.
Like the prequells, like the sequells, every part has a great story. Sophia and Marc's love evolves. Their mutual understanding is great. Its also realy great that Sophia keeps fighting for her independence of oppinion and doesnt submit to every Marc's idea of whats better for her.
Warning: it sound like I hate this book, but I don't. I actually like the Ivy Lessons. So here it goes, my rant!
She is whiny, jealous, annoying and several other things I can't say. Her jealousy is out of this world, but gets mad when Marc gets jealous. Hmm? Like he has no right.
Marc has this big secret.... When you find out what it is you are like... Oh, okay.
When Sophia is working on a movie, she makes me want to pull my hair out! Just has to be in everyone's business, plus she is jealous of the girl who Marc slept with way before her! She wants to scrub his past! Please, everybody has a past, get over yourself! Sex: Nobody moans more durning sex or kissing than Sophia! She is moaning & being loud like some banshee. (Or a biotch in heat) Sophia tells Marc, moans loudly, I can't be quiet, moan! So Marc covers her mouth, which does not help her the least little bit. Moan... Oh oh, Marc, oh God, Marc, oh Marc! Geez...
I don't remember being this upset with Sophia in the other books, but I am sure I was. (I don't think she has changed much) (moan) Lastly: (moan) She wants to be her own woman, do what she wants! Laugh They think "she may be pregnant" I don't know how many chapters went on and on and on and on.... But she can't do this or eat that. OMG (moan) She goes to the doctor, she hasn't even missed her period yet! Test was, you guessed it Negative! Like dugh
So much happened in this book that just ended... People she had to work with, etc. I was upset with her character. Maybe we will find out in the next book
This book was very boring and really had no substance to it. I really think the way Marc treats Sophia is ridiculous. The sex scenes are boring and kind of nasty if I'm being honest. Anyone that will stick things inside their pregnant wife in a dirty stable is just gross and wrong. He's so ridiculously over-protective but then he'll do something like that just turned my stomach. The birth scene had no substance to it and was very boring. Another thing that upset me was how the last book and the early part of this book Sophia's dad was in such a bad way, his house was destroyed and filthy, he was barely taking care of the baby and then, nothing. No further mention of him and she never went to see him or to check on the baby. It was ridiculous that such a huge deal was made in the last book, they couldn't get married until they stayed apart for 3 months and then in this book he's literally drinking himself into a stupor and then we don't read another thing about them until Christmas morning when they show up all happy and Christmasy. That just made zero sense to me. Why make such a huge deal about the situation if there is no follow through? I don't get it!
So, overall, I did not like this book at all and I will not be reading any more of this series.
Sophia has the chance of a role of a lifetime, but Marc is still being his usual domineering and controling self. They may have news that will change both their lives forever. Marc is still hiding secrets and these secrets once again put Sophia in danger. Will Sophia and Marc ever have their happily ever after or will the secrets that Marc hides destroy all they have fought for?
This book is OMG GOOD!!! I about died when I found out S.K. Quinn was writing another Devoted Series book. I adored this series and it felt like I was back with my friends again in this book. I honestly hope S.K. Quinn never stops writing this series. I love every character in this book even the bad ones. They are bad for a reason and everything ties together so well with the previous books. I know there is still more mystery to unravel and I hope we get more of Marc and Sophia in the future. Well done S.K., well done!!!!

I was so happy when I realised this 4th book was being released in this series. I so enjoyed Marc and Sophia's story, and this adds more to it. Introducing the ever controlled Marc to overprotective Marc. Will Sophia cope with his new found feelings toward her, while also dealing with other stresses. I enjoyed the story, plot, characters and angst. Marc's behaviour did start to show him as an over controlling alpha but with good reason. The love and sweetness are still present and their banter as a married couple is amusing. Their sex scenes are hot, steamy and intimate, the story concentrated on Sophia's career and her thoughts and feelings to possibly being pregnant, how Marc reacts to the possibility of fatherhood. Some secrets are revealed and feelings are tested but overall a good read. Would recommend.
I enjoyed this book, loved the series so far and I love reading about Marc and Sophia. This book carries on from where the last one left us, Marc and Sophia getting married and starting their life together as husband and wife. Sophia lands a role in a movie as the leading lady and then had other news they both need to deal with as well. I did enjoy this book but I feel like there could have been more to the story, there wasn't a huge story line to it to be honest, Marc was his usual protective self of Sophia but I don't feel he did much else really. I did enjoy it which is why I gave it 4* I just think there could have been a bit more to it!
This is the continuation of Marc and Sophia. This book picks up at the wedding of Marc and Sophia. There are surprises around each corner of their relationship. Marc still has some things that need to be told. Sophia gets a chance of a lifetime. They both get news that can change their world. Marc the ever so alpha goes into over drive and Sophia the one that tries to find a balance. There is heat, secrets and SK Quinn unfolds the story beautifully. Will Marc and Sophia be able to handle all the surprises now that they are one in a marriage?
So I wasn't crazy about this book. After the drama of book 3 settled, Sophia and Marc marry and they couldn't be happier. After her run in Beauty and the Beast, Sophia is sought out by a former director, and friend of Marc's, to play Rapunzel. Marc's overprotective nature is heightened when people from his past could jeopardize his present and future. While I wasn't crazy about the plot line, the sexy time made up for it. Marc sure knows how to turn up the heat
This story was just what I thought it would be, GREAT! Sophia is making a name for herself as an actress and her relationship with Marc grows stronger. There is some great drama and a bit of suspense, with a very happy ending. This is one of my favorite series to date. I am looking forward to reading more about this couple.
Moving romance with a developing saga between two lovers. Warm relationship but always guarded by a Dom male lover. You get the feeling that there is more to Marc persona and in the next novel it will fathom onto the pages as author SK QUINN move us with her storytelling.
I guess my favorite is that Marc and Sophia are growing. They are learning and we see their issues as learning stages. I really liked that and the immaturity I saw in previous books aren't there and maybe it was the marriage or the baby but it was a coming together stage of their relationship.
What an amazing book. Just love all the characters. From beginning to end it was so hard to put down thank you again for the wonderful read your an amazing author S K Quinn.
Once again once I start reading I can't stop until I have finished. Love the writing and the characters. Marc is hot and demanding as always. Sophia is not a push over which I like.
Oh my Marc and Sophia, you just have to keep reading about these two, we all live the relationship between them, Marc over protective as ever of Sophia, and Sophia pushing his limits as a wife should.
This is a great continuation of the Blackwell romance. I was surprised by how much it is really a surprise to me to know what happens after all the trials of this great romance. Marc and Sophia dignify the odds and start fires with there chemistry.
Sophia and Marc 's story continues and now they're married things are different. Sophia is filming a movie and also discovers she pregnant. A lot happens in this book and it's a great continuation of their story.
A great book! I finished it within a day! I love Sophia and Marc as a couple. I didn't quite understand what the title had to do with the book but apart from that I loved it! Can't wait to start the next book soon...
