Kyllä muumiperheen tempauksista aiheutuu paljon päänvaivaa Muumimammalle. Mamma tietää jo etukäteen, että perhe tempautuu milloin filosofien, taiteilijoiden tai kirjan hahmojen maailmaan niin antaumuksella että järki jää jälkeen touhuissa.
Muutamaan otteeseen tuli tyrskähdettyä yksittäisen hauskan stripin vuoksi.

3.5 Lars Jansson is getting in the groove here in his third Moomin collection. The art and the writing never really reach his sister Tove’s level of wry gentility, the sense of humor is now more dry and masculine. The comics approach something more of an adventure strip reminding me occasionally of old Disney comics. The ink style is less elegant but greater attention is paid to the surroundings this time around. Established side characters play a larger part and the Moomin family are often no longer the central focus. There’s a prolonged bit where the inspector’s nephew tries his hand at policing, only to arrest nearly everyone he sees, and proceeds to seek out potential dope smugglers. Surprisingly, he finds some! That should give an idea of how the strip is different. Pretty fun read overall though.

This is the funnest Lars Jansson collection of Moomin strips yet. The highlight is "Artists in Moominvalley" where a number of artists of different genres appear in the Moomin Valley to paint some white formations that actually were the Moomins. Eventually it develops into a meandering about how to paint an apple tree. The last story "The Inspector's Nephew" is also enjoyable, especially when the nephew abandons his ambitions to become a policeman because he develops a taste for opium. The Moomin was never really for children, this book is excellent proof of that.

Lars's Moomin stories are quite different from those of Tove for the different themes that they dig in. However, the cartoonist siblings have such wry sense of humour (I mean, I love it!). Even though I don't really like the way Lars took on the stories, I adore both Tove and him anyway, especially the oddly adorable characters they created; such as some little guests like mr. Hermit, little Albert and his mom :)

I'm afraid that Lars wasn't Tove - not as an artist or a writer. I've enjoyed his part of the series but I don't plan to read future volumes. The further the characters go from their beginnings the more unrecognisable they become.

Героите са отражения на различни страни от човешката природа, обрисуват (и до известна степен дори карикатуризират) честно и открито хорския характер, а историите за тях са изпълнени с приказна философия, семейна топлина, уюта на дома, очарованието на природата, и всичко това поръсено с щипка добронамерена самоирония и здравословно количество носталгия.

Албуми от 1 до 5 преиздават пълната колекция от комиксите на Туве Янсон – първите финландски издания от 1947–1948г., и после британските стрипове от вестниците, за периода от 1954 до 1959г.

Албум 6 започва с комиксите на Ларс от 1960г. През януари 2017 се чака да излезе от печат Албум 11, който ще започне комиксите от 1965г. А имайки предвид, че стриповете на Ларс Янсон излизат чак до 1975г. представете си само колко още албуми тепърва предстоят!
