Nothing new here

As someone else has stated in their review, just read Neville. The author adds nothing new or insightful here and quotes Neville Goddard predominately, why waste your money, go for the real thing (Neville).

“From the time he began teaching the 1930s, and until his death 1972, Neville [Goddard] beautifully expounded upon the main concepts of this guide.” So says co-author Tim Grimes as he introduces readers to his predecessor’s wise suggestions. The central theme, that learning to relax will paradoxically help us achieve more in the modern high-speed world, is well-taught (though not necessarily as “logical” as the author would suggest).

“By allowing ourselves to relax, we begin to naturally fall into a state of subtle gratitude and humility,” says Grimes. It’s not our thoughts that drag us down, but rather our “dysfunctional relationship with them.” And failure is all too often a failure of the imagination. Injunctions to imagine what we want rather than dwelling on what we lack echo religion’s “Just have faith” mentality, but Grimes keeps his writing both secular and simple, offering exercises and wise advice that anyone can apply.

Goddard phrases it all more spiritually, viewing Biblical texts as metaphor rather than history, and offering quotes like, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” A strong emphasis on feeling might suggest we just need to do what feels right, but Grimes does a nice job of promising nothing, offering much, and letting readers interpret the meaning as they choose.

Quick read, but can’t say it was overly enlightening for me. What I will take from it is the advice on relaxing a few more times throughout the day, and the benefits of relaxing more often in general. The claim that by simply imagining things happening, and then they magically happen for real (especially the actions of other people in distant countries) seems a bit far-fetched for my all-to-rational mind, but who am I to say? On the other hand, imagining yourself being the person you’d like to become or in a position you’d like to be in, may hold some water.

Literally the same thing as "the secret" but the secret did it much better. Thank goodness it was short. A lot of random inspiring stories, not a lot of actual information.

I listened to this book on Audible-just over an hour. The first half got tiresome due to the repetition of the word "relax" to the point of irritation. Got the point. The second half had some good elements but it seemed to me that not all the dots were connected for the reader. Visualize it, feel it, believe it. But first relax.

Defy Convention

After meditating, I picked a card from a deck. The card I pulled asked, “What’s the easier way?” I was a surprised by the question. I realized my unexpectedness came from what I was taught and still mostly believed; messages about hard work, life not being walk in the park...paying dues.

I am now discerning between what has been handed down as truth and what I want to be my truth. I am no longer interested in social norms that feel counterintuitive to me. Neville Goddard believed that by relaxing you’ll be able to change your life-this resonates with me. I really needed to read Tim Grimes’ quick guide about how the power of relaxation can create the life you want.

Thanks Tim and Neville. I’m creating new truths.

Worth Reading !

I was interested in this topic given that over the past 18 months, when all I could do was chill and relax due to my circumstances, despite no foreseable way, profound changes began to happen in my life that aligned with imaginings that I had of my future. as I was finding aligned with my own experiences and gave s When I was least concerned about my life and stopped striving. I ended up with money and a house that I always envisaged I would live in, when I didn't stopped striving and was focused on relaxing more and self care I also followed each step that felt right in my heart and not my head so much. Recently, I added the ideas expressed in the book, especially revising the day, and have been blown away, so far, that this actually works.

Some interesting additions to manifesting

As The author states - like any book of non-fiction- it is mostly material from elsewhere gathered in a new way. There are some new angles to the concepts here, particularly with the real meanings of "living as if." Also a couple of the insights into goddard are helpful for instance explain ing his use of the bible as a psychological text and not as a religious text.
This is set forth with some direct advice without selling some program ("manifest everything in 21 days") like the money makers.
The relaxation aspect is Unique to this book - most other books on the subject talk about not forcing but the. Have daily instructions . overall informative- a quick read, and is practical if this is your path .

Retold law of attraction

I like the book. It's a bit short and has two main things to say: relax and imagine what you want to happen in your life.
As usual the examples are taken from individual's story, which is no different from superstition.
But why not if it teaches us to know what we want

While I agree that there is something to thinking in the way you want to achieve, this book seems to make it sound like a person doesn't and even shouldn't put forth any effort to making things happen... and while it would be nice, I can't get on board.

easy to read and practical to implement

This is a short book and can be read easily in one sitting. The message though is powerful and straightforward to practice. Life becomes easier and more abundant after taking on board the message and actually relaxing.

Simple

Too simplistic to believe. Hope it works. I'll give it a try, but I'm not counting on much happening. Best of luck to others that read this.
