Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from Karate, Muay Thai, and Western boxing. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defense, general fitness, or as a contact sport.
In theory, Kickboxing concepts and ideas should be easy to grasp for all beginners.
Kickboxing is based on the natural body structure and common sense found in fighting.
However, in reality beginners can be overwhelmed with the amount of information, theories, strategies, and ideas that Kickboxing has to offer.
Kickboxing taught properly is not simply, follow me and do this. So, the path it takes to training will be foreign to anyone who has never experienced it before. That is why I have written this beginners guide to help you get started quickly and easily.

I actually agree with the information in this. I have done, compeated, and taught Kickboxing for over 20 years. The problem is that it is not really a book but a pamphlet it is only 25 pages. Then there are a number of typos in the book as well in a text this size. These should be easy to find. The information is great, but there are no techniques or combinations. This is a real shame, and unlike other books by this author, there are no video links for demonstrations. I can only assume this is a very early book by Jeff McCall.
Thank you for telling me that women can do kickboxing. I would have like to have read more on the four points of Kickboxing.
Overall a quick and concise intro for beginners, it includes some aspects that people might not have otherwise considered. However there is one phrase in this book which stuck with me 'incorporating this art into your life.' Which is what the martial arts really require (to what extent and degree in society today is debatable).
Hey, you guys, did you know kickboxing is a martial art?!
You did? Well, did you know it involves kicking AND punching? Oh, well, how about that it will give you all the benefits of practicing a martial art? Kind of implied, right, I can see that. Hmmm, I think you already know everything in this pamphlet. Never mind.
