I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Well, this is the first book I have read from Screaming Mimi, I have to say I absolutely loved the topic and her characters! However, to be truly honest, I had a hard time reading it smoothly, because it needs some polishing with a copy editing! So Mimi call me if you need some help!!

I loved the story and idea of this book was absolutely superb, and the copy issues I was able to over look because of how much she drew me into her characters and their world! Some of the characters, could in essence use some rounding out with more in depth information on them, but I loved the dynamics between each character. I don't think that it was dived deep enough in the rough background of our heroine. I would love for it to show more of her meaty darkness from her past. There seemed a fracture between the two sides (her past and her present).

Within this story we meet Marie, a voluptuous beauty, and her hatred towards her mother Angela Murdock. Even at Angela's funeral it was still present in her mind, how can a mother be such a witch and so retched to her own flesh and blood? Marie has this horrid and dark past with her mother, especially her actions in regards to Marie, her daughter, and her husband, Marie's Step-father. There is a lot of pressure and displeasure between both parties. Until Marie sights a gentleman at the funeral that draws her in; what was with this gentleman that seemed familiar? Meeting her biological father, brakes her reality, and she finally sees the bigger picture. Can she get what she needs from her biological father, his love and sincerity? And make her daughters feel the rightness within this new person within their lives? And who is this hunk, with the dreamy eyes that draws her to himself?

Deuce, a farm hand for Alexander Mckinney, is a scarred war veteran and a sad puppy. Why? Because he is drawn to the boss' daughter!? What can he do!? Stay away from Marie? But he cannot, unless he stops breathing. Can Deuce overcome some of his developed insecurities, being an Iraq war veteran, he deals with his ghosts and daily scares. Can he love her thorough enough to keep Marie, or will she walk away from him as all those within his past?

Such a great story-line, and great characters. I think with a little tooling, this story can be mind blowing!

Marie grew up in a home full of nothing but heartache and betrayal from the people who were suppose to protect her from the same things that were inflicted on her. At 18, she met Jason and married him so that she would have a safe place to call home. After many years of marriage and two daughters, he passes away due to illness. She thinks that this is how her life will remain, just her and her daughters. Until she meets a man at her mother’s funeral that says he is her father, a man she has never known. He wants her and her daughters to spend the summer on his ranch in Montana.

There, she meets Duece, a man that she is drawn to for some unexplained reason. Duece has had his fair share of hardships in life due to being a Marine and a few tours of duty. He doesn’t feel like he is a complete man due to all the scars he bears, on the inside and outside. But he is also pulled toward Marie and they both start experiencing feelings they never expected. She is very wary of strange men being around her children due to the things she had to deal with as a young girl. Can they both find a way to heal each other and gain the much needed trust to make a new relationship work?
This was a wonderful short read. The book flowed smoothly and I actually wish it had been a bit longer because I enjoyed it so much. Marie didn’t feel like she was worthy of a man as handsome as Duece because she had put on weight from having her children. She didn’t think he would be remotely interested in someone with her body. But Duece loved her body and all the sass that she liked to throw around.

Duece was worried about how their relationship would work and if her kids would accept him in her life. He was also worried because she had said she was only staying for the summer. Marie didn’t know if Duece would want her around longer than the summer. She thought he was just looking at her a summer fling.

If you are looking for a quick and light-hearted afternoon read with a HEA, then this is the book for you.

This book is great fast read only around 88 pages but well worth the read. Marie did not have a great childhood and is only at her mother’s funeral to make sure she is really dead. She never knew who her father was and her mother only said ugly things about it when she asked. She meets her father at her mother’s funeral. He wants to get to know her and tells that he only just learned that she even existed at all. Marie does not trust men at all so she isn’t expecting much from Alex. He invites her and her daughters to his ranch in order to get to know them better. Marie could never have imagined going to her mother’s funeral would change the rest of her life. Marie meets Duece while at her father’s ranch. As soon as she see him she knows she in trouble. Just looking in to his eye makes her feels no man has made her feel before. Duece is an ex-marine who is healed on the outside but not on the inside. Both he and Marie have more scars on the inside than the outside. Can they help heal each other? Marie is such a strong woman. She had a horrible childhood that would have stopped most women from letting anyone get close. Instead she found a way to coop and still found a way to let people in and love. Duece is has scars from his time in the Marines on his legs and back. He feels like they make him less of a man. Who would want to be with someone with horrible ugly scars like he has? I was so happy for Marie. She is finally getting the happy family with love and support that she should have had as a child. If you as easily bothered by things that happen to children I wouldn’t read this book. However her past is very important to the story and they don’t go into over dealing as to what happened to her just enough to know what happened to her. This book was wonderfully written and the character where great. I look forward to reading other books by Screaming Mimi in the future.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Healing Me, Trusting Me is a beautifully inspiring and passionately written journey of gentle healing and ravishing love that promises to be a life-changing experience. This story will stretch your heart to the breaking point while filling it with more love and hope then you would think possible. Never underestimate the deep longing for peace and wholeness to a broken, hurting soul.

Marie is a woman with a dark past that she would love to leave buried never to see the light of day. However, her deep scars and recent events refuse to let her past die a long needed death. She is thrust front and center back into the pain and humiliation of her childhood only to find a small yet determined ray of light beckoning for her to step into its warmth and comfort. Wanting to see if life can finally bring her some semblance of peace and happiness, she decides to take a step into a promising unknown. What she finds is beyond her wildest dreams if she will only choose to embrace it with open arms and not hold anything back.

I loved watching Marie being offered a wonderful yet unexpected change if she chose to make it permanent. Not only has Fate decided to smile down her on and her daughters in the form of a long lost relative but also in finding her once in a lifetime soul mate. Just when she was content with watching her life go stale and dull, she is given more love and happiness that proves to reshape and strengthen her cold and hardened heart.

Screaming Mimi writes with her heart and soul, and her story will reach into your heart and transform it. The journey she takes you on will change everything and your world will slowly tilt until you realize that the smallest things in life are worth more than riches, notoriety, and security. The greatest things in life can’t be bought or stolen. They can only be offered and accepted.

Wow what a whirlwind!
This may short but it is a super read.
The main character is Marie, and I say that because she took up most of my time and attention but that is not to say that the part played by Duece is not significant because his past as much as Marie’s has left its mark.
Growing up was traumatic for Marie in as much as she had a mother that only warranted that title due to the fact she had given birth to her, she was ambivalent at best to Marie and made no attempt to hide the fact that she just didn’t care.
Desperate to find what she had been missing, Marie found herself married, a mother and then widowed all too soon. Driven by a past that she could never outrun, she was a shattered soul.
Duece worked hard, this ex-military man was hiding the pain of his brutal military career, but the ranch was the place that could shelter his soul from the pain of the past, it was a place he could call home.
He could hide himself in hard work and could hide the scars that his body wore easily amongst the banter of the fellow ranch hands. But his issues were more than skin deep they were bone deep, the war had left its mark physically but emotionally it left him alone, with little confidence and a feeling that he would never find a woman to love him, so he had given up looking.
Past insecurities and inhibitions were the obstacle that I was willing them both to take the leap of faith they needed and get over. I had every finger and toe crossed that they could see that if they gave each other a chance what they could build together could and would be spectacular.
Would they?
Well you need to read to find out but I promise that if you give this little beauty a try, they will find a corner of your heart for themselves and they will bring a smile to your face.

Marie has 2 daughters that she adores more than life itself. She is very protective of them because of things that happened to her when she was little. She gets to know someone fir the first time and her life will never be the same.

A former marine Deuce is working in a Montana ranch, he has battle scars both physical and emotional, the emotional ones are not heal, but one day to the ranch gets Marie, could she be the healer of Deuces emotional scars?

This is a fast paced book that tells an amazing, emotional and heartfelt story of two people that were badly hurt and who seem the happiness for each other and to be the ones to bring to each other the emotional freedom they spend a lifetime seeking . The writing is amazing, I loved this story and I hope to hear more from Marie and Deuce soon. It is a must have you will fall in love with this characters and this excellently written story by Screaming Mimi. Congrats on such a great book.

This book is a quick paced fast read. I could feel for Marie growing up with a mom who could care less about and chose a man over her own children. As soon as she's old enough she moves out and gets married to a man who is her prince charming and has 2 little girls. A tragic accident leaves her a widow at a young age. Hurt, broken, and scared Marie needs to heal and learn to trust again. Duce a former Marine has healed from the scars on the outside of his body, but he's still working on the scars on the inside. When he meets Marie sparks immediately fly and he feels like the part of him that's been missing has been found. Can they heal together and find there HEA?

This book caught my attention early on and I had to know what happened. The only disappointment I had about this book is when it ended I wanted more. Another great book for Screaming Mimi!

3 out 5 stars

I just couldn’t love this book. As much as I wanted to, there were too many issues that I couldn’t turn my back on.

The author chose to skip around with her 3rd person narrative in the same paragraph frequently -- there were pages with no paragraph breaks at all. There were a few characters who were each given the opportunity to “speak from their minds” via the author, but I was confused many times as to whose mind we were hearing things from.

The connection between characters was strong and instant and honestly hard for me to buy into. With the problems Marie had with men, I’m not sure I believe she would just jump in a car with her girls and go to live with a father she just met. And a hot/sex connection with a new guy was more than I could handle.

I did enjoy the characters themselves and thought the story was OK, but it was hard for me to follow.

Loved this story! Short but sweet!
Marie had a horrible childhood with a mother who didn't care. When she was old enough she got away married a loving man, had 2 beautiful daughters and became a widow much to young. She didn't feel whole she was broken.
Duece was a hardworking ranch hand with an ugly military past. The war had left his mind uncertain about love and his body horribly scarred. He didn't feel whole he was broken.
What a whirl wind romance! I am a huge fan of insta-love and boy do these to fall fast. I totally fell for these and was pulling for them to getpast their insecurities and build a forever.Once they both start letting there walls down things really heat up!!! Another awesome book from Screaing Mimi!

*****NIC'S Review*****

I was given this ARC for an honest review.

This Is the first book I have ever read of author Screaming Mimi. It starts off with the lead character Marie that is brought up in an abusive home and is very angry, bitter and protective of her daughters. She is having to go home for a Funeral. She is faced with someone she never expected to meet or see. Later in this story she meets a guy and falls super fast in love with him. It was a pleasant and easy read. I really enjoy the reference of Montana. Even though this is a short and sweet story the author does a wonderful job with character build up so you don't feel like you are missing anything. This story is great if you want a quick read and a HEA. I give this book 4 stars.

Marie comes from a broken home. While attending her mother's funeral, she finally gets a chance to meet her father. Eager to get to know him, she goes to visit him for the summer on his farm with her two daughters. Here she meets Deuce. Deuce works for on his farm. He is a war veteran that deals with daily internal battles that have left him broken from the war. Both Marie and Deuce are instantly attracted to each other but are hesitant to act upon it fearing their own demons. This was a face paced and quick read with a great story line. I only wish it had been longer so I could have gotten to know these characters more in depth.

This was a face paced quick read and I did wish it was longer but I did enjoy reading it! I loved Marie's character. She's a mom with a very broken past finally meeting her real dad. She goes to visit him for the summer with her two daughters so they can all get to know each other. In comes Deuce, a broken war veteran that works for Marie's Dad. Sparks fly instantly but both are wary of each other. What will happen between these two wounded people, will they live HEA or will they both be even more broken than before?

It's a quick fast paced read. Marie has gone through a lot and now she can finally keep the past in the past. But now someone in her past comes into her life and offers her a place to heal. Duece is doing some healing of his own on the ranch. When these two meet sparks fly. Can Marie trust Duece enough to have a future? Can she trust him with her daughters? I found myself laughing while reading this, made it more enjoyable. One thing that may giving readers a little trouble is the changing of points of view. Switches a bit, but I could easily follow along.

This was a short and sweet read. Marie learns that what she thought was truth, wasn't. The lies she was told by someone who was suppose to love her come crashing down around her. When she learns the truth, she is skeptical at first. As time goes on, she starts to see that maybe all isn't as bad as she thinks it is. Not only did life put her in a great place, but it also sent her someone who loves her for her. But after all the lies, will she be able to open up and grab ahold of the opportunities that have been placed directly in front of her? Find out!
