Alright look, I want to tell you that what drew me to this series initially was the intricate world building and the fantastic characters, but I'd be flat out lying. Truthfully what did it was the super dirty, incredibly erotic, and always pant inducing sex. Yes. I'm deep like that (that's what she said)
Being 5 books into this series though, I can tell you that it's so much more than just super sexy. I'm addicted to the story and the characters. I'm practically salivating for the next book every time I finish a new one and I've become a huge fan of Setta Jay and this amazing world of The Guardians that she's created.
She gives you those possessive uber alphas but then she pairs them with strong witted and sassy heroines that never fails to make for one entertaining and sizzling read. I can happily say that Piercing Ecstasy was no exception. Don't let the sexy ass cover fool you. These books are a lot deeper (that's what she said) than they imply. The characters and story are well developed and while the sex is super hot, it's not what drives the story. While each book may technically be read as a standalone, I'd highly recommend reading this series in order to truly enjoy it as the story arc continues throughout the book and the characters get introduced early on before their own individual books. You would have a much better understanding and appreciation of them if you read the books in order. Setta likes to give a sneak peek into each character at the end of the previous book, and the first true peek we got of Jax was in Tempting Ecstasy
At the end of Tempting Ecstasy, Dacia's sister, Mia is the confused she-wolf that thought that Jax was her mate. I wasn't sure how to take Jax's almost callous dismissal of her and his implication that he could never be faithful because one woman or man would never be enough for him. Luckily all it took was him finding his true mate for him to sing a whole different tune entirely.
Ileana is exactly the type of heroine I've come to expect from this author. Tough, take no prisoners attitude, but of course unable to fight the allure of her mate and alpha. For years Ileana has been a ghost. Bent on revenge against the beings that killed her parents and left her an orphan, she's accustomed to hiding in the shadows. Not having a scent helps her immensely. And hardening her heart has helped her even more.
While on an information gathering mission, she stumbles onto the intoxicating scent of her mate, she discovers that her heart may not be quite as hardened as she thought when it comes to one determined alpha. And soon their relationship begins to grow into something much more than just mating frenzy.
Piercing Ecstasy was a quick paced and action packed read. There's quite a bit happening here, along with more development in Brianne and Vane's situation. Then there's crazy Elizabeth and her quest to release her even crazier lover, Apollo. And of course there's that tantalizing little peak into Drake, the one guardian that I'm absolutely dying to find out more about. I always had a feeling that I knew who his mate was, but then Setta goes and throws that mother of a plot cliff here that my mind is still reeling from.
I can't recommend this series enough to any lover of sizzling hot PNR. I love everything about it; the writing, the characters, the story....the sex. Ha! If you haven't discovered this dirty little world of The Guardians, I suggest you get acquainted. Your ovaries will thank you. Trust me.

Jax main goal is to track down enemy #1, however Elizabeth proves to be just as elusive, having the Guardians work double time trying to find her and bring her down. Known for his restlessness and insatiable appetite, he is knocked off his course when he senses his mate. Now that he has found her, he can not let her go...duty be dammed.
With a common target, they set out to not only feed their frenzy but to take down the ones who haunted their past and threatened their future...hopefully they're not too late.
Piercing Ecstasy is a delicious erotic paranormal treat, adding to The Guardians of the Realm series. I love how they follow an overall plot, but keep things fresh and utterly steamy. Jax is a manwhore, I was a little hesitant on howwe, Ilena, would deal with the fact that he had his own harem, but surprisingly enough it was addressed tastefully, sensitive enough to her thoughts and needs. Ilena is a force to be reckoned with, a warrior who has never back down from a battle, is cunning and smart. They were a match made, calming the restlessness and the nightmares. This review was a long time coming, and these Guardians has left such a lasting impression on me, I can't help but get excited for the next one.

FOUR AND A HALF STARS!
When Setta wrote me saying that she hoped I would enjoy this book, I imagined a smug smile on her face as she typed those words, knowing full well that not only would I enjoy this book, but that my life would be ruined by this series with its hot sex, possessive alpha males and feisty females.
Before I go any further, let me get one thing off my chest: DAT COVER .
I think it's only appropriate that we take a minute to ogle this magnificent specimen of male ass.

Piercing Ecstasy continues where book four left off. The guardians are still in search of the evil Elizabeth, Brianne and Vane are still fighting the consequences of their unnatural mating, and Jax is still having to deal with the asshole card he played at the end of the last book.
Contrary to his portrayal in previous books, Jax has certainly changed his playboy ways. He's hoping to prove that he's more than just his dick, and whilst I missed his jokes and playful attitude, Jax is every bit the possessive alpha male that I've come to love in this series (not to mention, he certainly knows how to put his mate's pleasures first, no ifs, ands or buts about it).
Ileana was another feisty female that I loved. My heart broke reading her back story, and whilst I wanted to see more of her action/ninja assassin style, I was certainly happy to see another female BAMF that was certainly no pushover.
Now, I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed to see that Mia wasn't the heroine of this book. It is explained why Mia couldn't be Jax's mate, so I was satisfied with the explanation, but it didn't stop my heart from hurting for her. There's this one scene that's just so painful that it's beautiful. Not sure if that made any sense but let's just go with it.
The absolute highlight of this book for me was that bloody ending. I loooove frowny, forceful, serious men and Drake has it in spades. When smoke curls out of his mouth, I'm sighing with freaking love hearts in my eyes; when he roars and sets buildings on fire, I'm sweating and fanning myself frantically; and when that last scene happened,
my ovaries whimpered because it could foresee the absolute devastation that Drake's book will play on it. Goodbye ovaries, it was nice knowing you.
If you haven't already jumped on this delicious PNR train, then all I can say is that you're missing out. Bring on book 6! My ovaries are ready to be wrecked!

4.5 I LOVE IT STARS!

Piercing Ecstasy is the 5th book in the Immortal Guardian Series. In this book we finally get to know "the broody bad boy guardian" JAX! A rogue god is on the loose and the Guardians are on the hunt to chase him down and keep peace in the realms.
Jax has the reputation for being the "man whore in the bunch". (Keep in mind they are all highly charged sexual beings so that is saying a lot!) He has never had a problem keeping a harem of women at his beckon call. But when Dacia's sister fell hard for him he knew that although she wasn't his, his mate was out there somewhere. He decides to try and change his ways. When he is called out on protection duty, suddenly he scents his mate. The attraction is immediate and he cannot control himself.
Ileana has always taken care of herself and lived a solitary life as a ghost. She is a warrior. After loosing her parents at young age, she has had to be strong. Although the attraction to her mate is explosive, she isn't willing to give up her mission to avenge her parents. She doesn't mind having a little fun but giving herself completely to another person terrifies her.
"You. Are. Mine. This is for f*cking eternity, and I take this sh*t seriously."- Jax
Because of the great transformation of both of the main characters, I found I enjoyed this read even more than the others in the series. I really loved both Ileana and Jax equally. They were both unique and strong as individuals and together they were a mighty force. I love the transformation that each character takes. Jax must learn to cope with having a strong mate at his side and Ileana has to learn to depend on someone else (other than just herself).
"Love seemed a week description of what they had, so the words didn't matter to him."
In true Setta Jay fashion, the passion between these two is off the charts. I especially appreciated the way that their mating ceremony took place. It was different from the others in the series and I found it to be beautifully intimate. We continue to explore the lives of the other Guardians and evil is always right around the corner. The search for Apollo brings extra intensity and adventure to the read. Once again, I found myself immersed in a different world.
Overall, Piercing Ecstasy is one fantastic read! I simply cannot say it enough...read this series NOW! Each book offers a beautiful story full of exotic locations, strong alpha males and their adventurous mates! You will be so glad that you did. Now, on to the next book! I have to know what will happen next!

This Guardian talks the talk and walks the walk
In Piercing Ecstasy we finally get to know Jax beyond his harem. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about his mate having to deal with his sexual history and what he is mostly known for. I thought she might end up being a timid little mouse who'd just suck it up and deal with it. Ileana is NOT like that at all. If anything, she's the complete opposite. Ileana has a secret ability and because of it and her plans for vengeance, she doesn't have a lot of friends. Jax has been frustrated for awhile and his harem are not doing it for him. He dismisses them and decides to go without. Unfortunately, his energy levels are starting to suffer and he knows he'll have to do something soon to fix it.
Jax and Ileana meet and know they are mates. Ileana accepted it quite easily, but was not keen on sharing her memories when they blood bond. Jax has to work bloody hard to stay one step ahead of her. While she's fighting it, he's determined to keep her and make their mating as good as his Guardian brothers.
As usual, Setta Jay REALLY knows how to turn up the heat. Jax is the master of dirty talk and it's not just using dirty words. He's all about the feels and what his actions make Ileana want and need to get satisfaction. His dominance over Ileana was hard won, but totally believable. She just couldn't help but submit and what she thought would be abhorrent to her, ended up being something she and her beast needed.
We're still on the hunt for Elizabeth and her minions. Apollo is missing and Drake is losing his patience in trying to locate the God and what hell they will face if he's ever released.
The Guardian's of the Realms is still one of my favourite paranormal series and I'm definitely keen to go on. The way Piercing Ecstasy finished was beautiful for Jax and Ileana, but I am really interested to read if the next couple is who I think it will be. Addicted!!!

We're still on the hunt for Elizabeth and her minions. Apollo is missing and Drake is losing his patience in trying to locate the God and what hell they will face if he's ever released.
The Guardian's of the Realms is still one of my favourite paranormal series and I'm definitely keen to go on. The way Piercing Ecstasy finished was beautiful for Jax and Ileana, but I am really interested to read if the next couple is who I think it will be. Addicted!!!

It was Jax's turn to be mated and his journey was just as delicious (and less painful) as the rest! So here's the gist cuz I'm ready to get back to this series...
🐾 As far as I knew, the Guardian men need not only Earth energy to replenish, they need sex. Jax took this need up a notch and kept a harem of women (and sometimes men) to be there at his discretion. Everyone knew of his harem, but after watching his brothers find their mates, he disbands his harem, waiting to find a mate of his own.
🐾 Throughout the books, Jax appeared to be a funny, carefree, sexual being. This book showed me how much more there was to this male and how easy he was to love!
🐾 Ileana came from a painful beginning, trusted no one, and was used to her own company. She survived working as a mercenary and it only took her one job to put her right in the path of Jax. From the start, these two were magnetic and even though she tried extremely hard to keep a part of herself back, to guard her secrets, to put her complete trust in the Guardians and her mate, to find her place among them, they were difficult to look away from.
🐾 It was quite impossible to put this book down. From the sensual joy Jax and Ileana found with each other to the intrigue and suspense of the plot surrounding Apollo, not to mention other characters finding their mates (my heart's breaking for Drake and Delia), my attention has been riveted to this tale and I have no complaints.
Bastian's story is next and I cannot wait to really meet this male. He's the quiet Kairos that I know absolutely nothing about! I'm off!!

Ilena is a woman who out for vengeance, to payback the very person who took the people she loved the most away from her. She is strong and willful, and not afraid to speak her mind. While spying, on a couple who can lead her to the very person she seeks, she smells him. She knows he's near. Her mate.
Jax is an arrogant son of a gun. I loved and hated him all at once. He would be so aggressive and kind of cold with Ilena, with something like this:

Ilena is broken woman, who needs to be handled gently, tenderly and just as I am convinced that I hate this man he redeems himself:
His lips took hers in a fleeting kiss. "These lips. This means something." "It means everything." .
Then Jax realized just how broken she was and became patient and loving and in the end I found their romance amazing.

Ok finally we start to get a much more rounded picture of just what is happening in the Realms! I've enjoyed reading this series but have often had to shake my head, roll my eyes as these apparently possessive guardians happily share their females when they bond! Come on this does not fit but at least the author seems to finally realise that what's sexy shenanigans when single and desperate does not really fit the heroes she has created! Ok rant over but erotic scenes are never going to be enough to cover plot holes for this reader. That having being said this book really does expand the Guardians and the mission they face.
Apollo should be kept hidden and asleep but unfortunately his body has been stolen by the thoroughly repugnant Elizabeth and she's determined to wake him at no matter what cost. Into this scenario comes Ileana an unusual shifter with goals of her own. Whilst trapping down information she crosses paths with the Guardian Jax and immediately realises that the unfortunate male whose chasing her is her Mate! Two people entwined with so many secrets but the outcome is anything but predictable .
Ok I admit the first couple of books were sexy but it just didn't feel realistic to this reader. This author writes red hot scenes but I need to believe in them. What really works here though is the continuation and expansion of the storyline as the Gods and those who support them step up and allow Ms Jay to flesh them out a little. The author has done an amazing job here with twists , turns and unexpected enemies. I loved it and for me it's her best story yet. Not just a mating but a trip into this world created by the author . I know what I want next but I fear that I just might have to wait a teeny bit longer! Hot, dirty and yet this time I'm a happy reader!

Preliminary review.... OMG! THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING! Setta Jay is the shit! I soooooo can't wait for the next one now and this one hasn't even been published yet!

Ok, so once upon an amazon browsing trip, I stumbled across this hot covered book called Hidden Ecstasy. The price was right (free!) and the blurb sounded interesting, so I, of course, one clicked. After I consumed this morsel of short erotic paranormal goodness, I saw that there was more! So I one clicked again (and again...) and found myself in love with this new series and I now had a new favorite author tostalk follow. This leads me to now. I read Piercing Ecstasy in one day. I had been (im)patiently waiting for this book for forever, and once I received my arc (THANK YOU SETTA JAY!) there was no stopping me.
Jax has been known as the 'ladies man' of the Guardians. He frequently has multiple women (or men) at the same time, and often. I have to say, I wasn't sure how his finding a mate would play into this. I was hoping that he would be a one-mate kind of guy, and yay for me he was! He was all alpha, possessive and hot! He had moves that made me swoon! Note to readers: this book should be read near a bucket of ice or a fan and you should probably be alone so as not to let passersby hear you moan! ;) Jax was awesome and he had piercings and omg I'm in love with yet another fictional character! ❤
Ileana was a new addition to this series. Meaning we had not previously met her. I loved her. She was a badass and all strong female who can take care of herself and the best part, she was out for revenge. Dun dun dunnnn :D I loved how she was with Jax (and he with her) and how she was a loner and was different from the other females. Even still, she got along with them and became one of the girls. I really felt that she was the perfect mate for Jax. They bickered, but made up and did so well!
This book was non stop; unputdownable, action packed. I freaking LOVED it! Readers should know, while each book in the series mainly focuses on a different couple each time, there is an overlapping plot, and that means they should most definitely be read in order. With certain events from the previous book and the ending, I was so anxious to see not only who Jax would mate with, but also how those events would play out. And Oh Boy! There was so much going on and so much revealed, I can't even begin to describe what an awesome ride Piercing Ecstasy was! And OMG the ending! I really can't wait for the next book, and this one barely has the ink dry! ;)
Setta Jay did an awesome job creating this world of immortals and guardians, and her take on the different Gods and Goddesses. I absolutely love every single book! Jax has become tied for my #1 Guardian (Con being the other one!) I'm now extremely anxious to see where the next book will take us in the overall plot. Shit went down in this one and it's gonna get dicey. I think what makes me love these books so much is that there is a little of everything in them. Paranormal, hot sexy times, intrigue, romance, action, and the best is that Setta Jay writes a story that you just sink into and can't pull away from. Like I said before, once I started this book, I didn't stop until I was finished. And even then I wanted more! I highly recommend this book and all the ones before it. And I suppose since I'll have to wait for the next one... I'll just reread the whole series back to back! :D

This series keeps getting better and better... And better.
In Piercing Ecstasy we are given Jax (a.k.a. The Playboy) and Ileana's story.
Ileana...
She was a solitary woman in her search for revenge, until one day she landed on the path of a Guardian.
She never wanted a mate, but she knew that no matter how much she wanted to escape, Jax was hers.
"Her heart nearly beat out of her chest and the urge to flee nearly overcame her (...)."
Jax...
After his brothers started to find their mates, Jax sent his "harem" away.
When he was covering for one of his brothers one night, he catches her scent.
They start the mating frenzy, but Ileana doesn't want to finish their bond.
"... They'd have to blood bond. That would never happen."
But Jax doesn't agree. He wants a mate, his mate, and he's not letting go of her.
"No way in hell was he finding and claiming his mate and not keeping her.
As it happened in previous books of the series, I loved everything about it. The main and secondary characters were awesome, the secondary plots, the twists, and that last part was really, really good. The book also introduces us to some funny moments. Ileana and Jax are bickering most of the time and I loved it.

This is the fifth book in the Guardians of the Realms series. Even though these are novel length books, at around 300 pages each, it does not feel like I've read five of them already, because they keep you so engaged that it seems like you've just started and you're already halfway through! That also means I only have two more to go before I've run out of published books and I'll have to sit back and wait for the next one. That might make me cry!
Anyway, Piercing Ecstasy is about Jax and his newly found mate, Ileana. It starts with a prologue or flashback of Ileana when she was ten years old, thinking she is a full fledged warrior, and her parents being killed while protecting her. Because she's convinced she's a warrior, she is unable to grieve as any other ten year old would, and she vows vengeance on those that have killed her parents. That's a lot for a little girl to deal with. We soon learn that the reason her parents were willing to die to protect her (more than any parent would for their child, rather than relocate her to somewhere she'd be harder to find that is) is because she has no scent. No one is able to smell that she is standing right next to them, or hiding in the bushes behind them, or in an enclosed room with them, until Jax comes along, after she's been alive for millennia. He followed her scent through a crowded get together made up of Immortals of every race and Mageias of all ages, to find her on the other side of this large property in a garden. She didn't realize how he'd found her, though as soon as she got his scent into her lungs, she knew what he was to her.
This installment had much more of the action I'd been missing in the last couple books, plus some answers that made my heart oh so happy. There has been one couple that has been in a iffy position for the last few books, and we finally got at least a partial answer to what's been going on with them. Because Ileana grew into the warrior her ten year old self thought she was, she went hunting and fighting hell beasts with Jax, which was one of the reasons my beloved action was back in full force. There were many issues between the two, because really when you meet for the first time and fate is shoving a mating down your throat, even though you don't even know each other's name, there are going to be issues! Part of it was that Ileana had kept to the shadows for so long, her whole existence really, and she had a hard time letting herself care about or trust anyone with the details of her life, and she didn't want Jax to see her as weak, from that time when she was a child trying not to grieve for parents, but crying because she'd lost them. To her, warriors didn't cry, so she was weak at that point in her life, and she didn't want anyone's pity or for them to think she didn't grow into the strong warrior she is currently because she'd gone through that period as a child. She couldn't imagine her mate seeing that time in her life, during the blood bonding, and not seeing her as weaker than she was. There was really so much going on between these two and out in the Realms, that it made for an amazing book.
I'd most definitely recommend this book to any fan of paranormal erotica romance books, with a giant side of action, but as I've said with every book starting with the second one, I'd really also recommend that you read the whole series so that you don't get lost on some of the side stories. This one has so many of the side stories coming up and they are as important to the book as Jax and Ileana's story is, so it's pretty important to know what's going on with them. And to know the whole story on all of them, you really need to start with the prequel novella that I believe is free at least on Amazon, to get the whole of them all. This is an amazing book, and a great series, that is underappreciated in its genre. Even if it's not your cup of tea, maybe you have a friend you could tell about it, who might like this flavor of tea more than you! ;-)

Book 5 of the Guardians of the Realms series, Jax and Ileana's story.
Ileana was orphaned as a young child when her parents died protecting her from Cyril. She has been almost totally on her own ever since. She occasionally seeks out others but has mostly been working on her own seeking revenge for what happened to her parents. She is at a party in disguise trying to find out information when Jax stumbles upon her hiding, she knows that touching him will start the mating ritual but feels she has no choice if she is going to stay undercover. Just because she started it, it doesn't mean she's not going to fight it every step of the way and I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow from just sex (hot as that was) to love.
Meanwhile, Brianne and Vane are finally awake and although their pairing is unprecedented, they are both fine and back in fighting form. Elizabeth has been stopped but Apollo is free and that can't lead to anything good. Cannot wait to get to the next book.

This one made me cry!
Granted I was in a lot of pain while reading it but Ileana's story made me sad.
She was absolutely awesome and I loved her. Jax annoyed me on occasion but it was more to do with him not listening to her. Like at the very start when they met. Lots of great secondary plots going on in this as well. Honestly these keep getting better and better.

Oh no! I'm getting close to the end of my Setta Jay marathon! This just sucks. Piercing Ecstasy is Book 5 in her Guardians of the Realm series. There's one more and then Goodreads doesn't list ANYTHING else coming up for this series! What's a girl to do?!
Ileana was another bad ass heroine. I really liked her, even though she didn't have a big personality. She lost her parents at a young age and has been training and planning for her revenge ever since. There are some flashbacks to her as a child and it was pretty sad. She doesn't crave contact with anyone anymore and hasn't since she was little. I think it was that part of her that spoke to me the most. Transforming into a white tiger and teleporting to other worlds is pretty out there but a little girl who has become a young woman who has closed herself off emotionally is something I can wrap my brain around. But Ileana is never a sad sack or pitiful. She's a warrior and she's tough as nails. There wasn't a lot more to her than her anger, loneliness, and need for vengeance but I found little things about her endearing. She's sweeter than she appears and I ended up liking that she sort of hid her true self from most people.
Jax was pretty cool. Now, I had built him up in my mind over the rest of the series, so it's entirely possible that I was a teensy bit disappointed in him. It was in no way his fault - I had been intrigued by him from the start and he was always described as super powerful. Maybe not mysterious or anything but there was something about him and his power that made him seem more than everyone else, except maybe Drake (the boss dude). Still, I really dug Jax. He was the very first tiger shifter that ever lived and I think that gave him more power? Or maybe it made everyone respect him more. I don't know. But he was tough and everyone knew it.
I liked Ileana and Jax together. She wasn't really ready for a connection with someone else. Especially not a connection so intense. But Jax has been interested...maybe even eager... to find a mate since the beginning when Uri and Alex found each other. He wasn't jumping up and down excited but he wasn't dreading it. I also liked that he used to keep a harem of women to satisfy his needs but had recently dismissed them all. It was so funny that he's this kind of man whore, coming together with this female that hasn't had much interaction with people in a very long time. Talk about opposites attracting! Oh, before I forget, as always, this book was seriously hot. The actual Sexy Time doesn't take place until the last third of the book but there's definitely sensuality throughout.
Piercing Ecstasy was yet another great installment in this series. It fell a little, tiny bit short of my expectations but I fully admit that there was probably no way for anyone to live up to what I expected from Jax! I still really enjoyed this book. There weren't as many laughs in this book but there is plenty of action and a good amount of drama. I couldn't believe what happened with Elizabeth (the main bad guy) and now I'm freaking out about what's going to happen next! Since this is Book 5 in this series, it would be tough to pick up the story here BUT it could be done. Like I usually say, readers who don't need all the details would be okay to start here. But so much has happened since Book 1... good guys, bad guys, in the middle guys, love stories, etc. This is such a rich world that it would be a shame to miss any of it. I'm still saying that fans of paranormal romance should give this series a try. It has everything - immortals, gods, shape shifters, hell hounds - the list goes on. This series is way too much fun!
Oh no! I'm getting close to the end of my Setta Jay marathon! This just sucks. Piercing Ecstasy is Book 5 in her Guardians of the Realm series. There's one more and then Goodreads doesn't list ANYTHING else coming up for this series! What's a girl to do?!
Ileana was another bad ass heroine. I really liked her, even though she didn't have a big personality. She lost her parents at a young age and has been training and planning for her revenge ever since. There are some flashbacks to her as a child and it was pretty sad. She doesn't crave contact with anyone anymore and hasn't since she was little. I think it was that part of her that spoke to me the most. Transforming into a white tiger and teleporting to other worlds is pretty out there but a little girl who has become a young woman who has closed herself off emotionally is something I can wrap my brain around. But Ileana is never a sad sack or pitiful. She's a warrior and she's tough as nails. There wasn't a lot more to her than her anger, loneliness, and need for vengeance but I found little things about her endearing. She's sweeter than she appears and I ended up liking that she sort of hid her true self from most people.
Jax was pretty cool. Now, I had built him up in my mind over the rest of the series, so it's entirely possible that I was a teensy bit disappointed in him. It was in no way his fault - I had been intrigued by him from the start and he was always described as super powerful. Maybe not mysterious or anything but there was something about him and his power that made him seem more than everyone else, except maybe Drake (the boss dude). Still, I really dug Jax. He was the very first tiger shifter that ever lived and I think that gave him more power? Or maybe it made everyone respect him more. I don't know. But he was tough and everyone knew it.
I liked Ileana and Jax together. She wasn't really ready for a connection with someone else. Especially not a connection so intense. But Jax has been interested...maybe even eager... to find a mate since the beginning when Uri and Alex found each other. He wasn't jumping up and down excited but he wasn't dreading it. I also liked that he used to keep a harem of women to satisfy his needs but had recently dismissed them all. It was so funny that he's this kind of man whore, coming together with this female that hasn't had much interaction with people in a very long time. Talk about opposites attracting! Oh, before I forget, as always, this book was seriously hot. The actual Sexy Time doesn't take place until the last third of the book but there's definitely sensuality throughout.
Piercing Ecstasy was yet another great installment in this series. It fell a little, tiny bit short of my expectations but I fully admit that there was probably no way for anyone to live up to what I expected from Jax! I still really enjoyed this book. There weren't as many laughs in this book but there is plenty of action and a good amount of drama. I loved every second of Jax and Ileana's story! In fact I read Piercing Ecstasy so obsessively and so compulsively that I'm pretty sure I injured a digit or two swiping pages. In fact, this review is a bit delayed because I was so involved with Jax and Ileana that I kinda forgot to make my mental notes for this review... so I decided to turn around and start over.... all over. I re-read the whole series again! I loved every book just as much as the first time- maybe even a bit more as I have gotten to "know" all the characters and their stories so well. I feel like I'm a part of this story myself! Excellent writing by Setta Jay!
Now for Jax and Ileana! No spoilers, no plot summary, just my honest opinion.... with a couple of my favorite quotes :)

I have been waiting for Jax to get his mate, especially after Conn got his. I had wondered if Mia was going to be involved somehow, but she just has an attraction to Jax and I mean, I can't blame her.
Jax is wonderful. He has a dirty mouth and his witty comments always make me giggle. I love how he thinks that just because he has a healthy sexual appetite he thinks he won't be the next one to get a mate. Well, think again buddy! Because Ileana is here to steal your heart! Even if she has other plans... And you're not necessarily her first one...
When it was discovered that Ileana , a trait that is unique to her, I began to wonder how Jax would ever find her. But, silly me, I should have known that there would be exceptions for mates. Jax and Ileana go through their mating while also having to deal with a missing god. But the two Ailouros are one of the best couples in the series so far! While Uri and Alex get a lot of credit for patrolling together, I'm sure these two will have a special and crucial part to play as the series progresses! Heck, the little bit of hunting they did together in this book was perfection!

Ileana and Jax's book
I'm amazed how quick Setta gets her books out, She doesn't keep us waiting and the depth of characthers and story seem to deepen with each book, I love these Guardians!
Piercing Ecstasy is all about the guardian Jax, he definitely has no plans on getting a mate until he has no choice. Ileana is an independent soul, she's suffered tragedy and likes to keep her distance from others!
Two Independent souls thrown together in a mating frenzy = hot and interesting. I adore Jax's pet name for Ileana 'kitten', it's not just the name though, it's how he says it!
This another stimulating ;) installment in a great series. Lots of hot sex with the very alpha Jax, Ileana can't get enough of him.
I love where the background story went, and I also can't wait for the blood test result.....
These books can be read as standalones, but personally I prefer to read books in order as you learn more about the characthers in each book, which then add to your reading pleasure.

This series just gets better and better. No two Guardians and their mates have the same journey. I mean not even close. Jax like all his brothers is smokin' HOT, and possessive and just amazing. Ileana was pretty kick arse herself. The fight against the bad "guys" just keeps changing and getting more intense. Oh, poor Drake. My only complaint with this one is the whole Vane and Brianne side romance felt like it got short changed.

Yes it's super hot, of course, not disappointing at all. The writing, plot and story were done nicely, blended effortlessly. This was actually a lovely surprise since I encountered the author while browsing GR, never heard anything from her at all before.

I am loving this series!! Jax and Ileana did not disappoint and the ending was so very sweet. Now, with what has been revealed about Drake, can I skip book 6 and get to 7?!! Just kidding, I wouldn't skip Bastian. I can not get enough of these sexy fierce Guardians. Happy reading!!

Okay, listen, this has become a guilty pleasure. At first when I started this series I liked it for what it initially was and nothing much else, but now I am invested and wanting to know more about where the story is going. This just does it for me and trips my trigger. It has been one of those series that has grown with me and I will keep reading them till the end. I know the series is all out and I have most of the books. I still have to get 2 or 3, but I am ready. The ending where it hints at the dragon finally. Man, I cannot wait for that one!

Jax is pretty much the textbook definition of a man whore. Over the centuries he has been know for his insatiable sexual appetite and he keeps a harem of women, and occasionally a man, at his beck and call. However, with so many of his Guardian brothers finding their mates, he knows he will probably be finding his own soon as well.
Illeana has been completely on her own since she was a little girl. Her only goal in life is revenge and she has made sure she is a kick ass warrior so she can get what she desperately aches for. The minute she sees and scents Jax, she knows exactly what he is to her and how screwed she is. Her search was just starting to get somewhere and now she will have to deal with this inconvenience.
I have to admit that I was a bit wary of Jax based on things he said in the previous book. He just came off as a bit of a jerk. But I worried for no reason because he was amazing. Setta has a beautiful talent for writing alpha males with the most delicious dirty mouths and Jax's had me melting through the entire book. But beyond his dirty words, I loved the way he was with Illeana. The tenderness and appreciation he showed for his mate was swoon worthy.
Now while we have this steamy love story going on, there is also the unrest within the Realms that has carried on through each book. All of the Guardians are on edge and just waiting for something big to happen. Now that the evil Elizabeth has gotten her hands on her sleeping God, will she be able to wake him? And what will happen if she does? No one wants to find out and all of the Guardians are trying their hardest to prevent that from happening.
This entire book was great but the final few chapters were ah-frickin-mazing. Lots of action and huge revelations and a setup to the next book that left me screaming to have it now. I NEED IT RIGHT NOW! The next book will definitely be the most highly anticipated for me, without a doubt. I love this series so damn hard and Piercing Ecstasy was one of my favorites so far (Uri is still #1). Seriously, this ending was just - GAH!
All of the books in the Guardians of the Realms series may be read as standalones but I highly recommend reading them all in order. It just gives more depth to the stories and you can see that overall plot develop and grow as each book continues. They are beautifully written and a must read for fans of paranormal romance.

World Building: This novel takes place all over the Tetartos realm. I like how that realm mimics the Earth realm so it’s a little easier to understand where the characters are throughout their search for Elizabeth.
Characters: The main characters in the novel are Jax and Ileana. Both are Ailouros aka half cats but, have vastly different pasts. Jax has been unable to satisfy his sexual appetite for as long as he can remember. How can one female possibly be everything he could want or for that matter, need? Ileana wants nothing but justice for what she lost long ago. She hadn’t even fathomed having a mate until he fell into her lap. Can these two overcome their preconceived notions of what will happen after the mating or will his sexual appetite and her need for vengeance overcome any chance of happiness that they could have?
Plot: This story was a little slow going in terms of the action until the ending. There were a couple of twist and turns and surprises that showed up throughout the novel, which I am very excited about!! The romance was a little lackluster compared to the other couples but I understand there are only so many ways to make sex scenes new again. As for Brianne and Vane, the underlining couple in the last couple books, I was so happy that they ended up being fine and back to fighting alongside their family!
Writing: This novel is told in first person points of view of both Jax and Ileana as well as past and present points of view. Elizabeth and Drake have points of view alongside Jax and Ileana throughout the novel too.
Curb Appeal: When I first saw the cover I was a little confused at what I was looking at and then I realized it was a thigh! It’s different than the other covers but it grew on me! The blurb gives a great description of Ileana but as for Jax his description didn’t really translate well into the story. His “appetite” within the story never seemed to be that much of a problem as the blurb suggested.
Ultimately: This novel sets up a lot of plot points for the next books in the series and I’m super excited!!! I’m not sure what is going to happen next in terms of finding the missing God and what the underlying plot will be but I’m so ready to find out!! If you are in the mood for a feisty warrior female and an alpha male who will do anything for his woman then come check out Piercing Ecstasy!!!

I’m going to start this with saying, this is a book for mature audiences. It’s a paranormal erotic story. If that doesn’t give you a hint of what’s’ to come then don’t bother picking this book up. It contains the following super-hot alphas who get all possessive after one touch, kick ass heroines, voyeurism, loads of steamy sex, and I mean loads, anal play and did I mention the big delicious alpha? You have been warned.
This may be the fifth book in the Guardians of the Realms series but the pace does not slow down and the steam does not dissipate. Yes dear reader it’s another hot one, not that I am complaining. Never! These books can be read as stand-alones, the author does a phenomenal job in making it so.
With this outing we get the oooohhh so delicious Jax and his more than worthy mate Ileana. To say that these two are purrfect for each other is an understatement. They are combustible from the moment they touch which sparks the mating frenzy which only makes them even hotter together.

We also get to see the continuing story of guardian Brianne and Vane, which is sooooo good. I have been on tenterhooks waiting to see what happens and we get resolution in this book. Oh and there is also a huge WTF moment towards the end that will have you scratching your head saying “ I did not see that coming”.
This has become one of my favourite series ever. I just can’t get enough of those alphas and their alphaness. These books are hot, enthralling, hot and just awesome. Yes I’m a guardian groupie and proud of it.

Piercing Ecstasy is book five in the Guardians of the Realms series. It's another *FANTASTIC* erotic read in this series by Setta Jay. I can’t get enough of this world and it’s oh so HAWT Guardians.
Ileana, confident, a warrior who rules her domain, but also has some emotional issues to over come. Jax, Guardian, a bit insatiable, powerful and very alpha.
I was curious to see how Jax’s mating would be handled and the author did not disappoint. I enjoyed Ileana and Jax’s first meeting. The author had me fanning myself. I was on fire write along with our leads throughout the book. All the hot and steamy action going on. WOW baby! Jax knew what he wanted and how to get his mate to warm up to him. We get to see all the Guardians again as they make appearances, which I just love seeing them. The author threw in a little mystery that surprised me, along with some get plot twists and turns. I loved it! And she also has done a fantastic job setting up for the next Guardian’s book.
I can’t wait for more Guardian love! This series is one you don’t want to miss out on. I look forward to more great books in this series.

I loved, loved, loved this book. I am still fanning myself as it was so friken hot and steamy. Setta Jay has written another fantastic book!!
This book picked up where book 4, Tempting Ecstasy, left off. The Guardians are still looking for Apollo and Elizabeth. They are under a time restraint as they need to rescue someone (can't tell you or will ruin it for you). We learn more about Brianne and Vane and what is going on with them.
Jax finally meets his mate. Her name is Ileana. Instantly they know they are mates and begins the hot, steamy sex. Sooo good!! I love that Jax is caring and possessive. Always looking out for her. My heart broke as I read about Ileana's life growing up and everything she has endured. Growing up alone has taught her to rely only on herself. When she meets Jax, all of that changes. Ileana is stubborn, strong and independent. She has been taking care of herself for a long time. She is just the right match for Jax. Jax is the ultimate Alpha male. Hes strong, possessive and wants everything his way. He thinks that he knows best how to take care of her but she knows what she wants and even though she loves him she will not let him make all the decisions for her.
The one thing I love most about this series is that the Author brings back the other Guardians and their mates in every book. I love continuing to read about them. What they are doing and what is going on in their lives.
I would suggest you go out and pick up this book as it will be one you can not put down. Believe me when I say it is phenomenal and you will have the series on your pre-order list.

With his brethren finding mates fast Jax is confident that there is no woman in any of the realms to satisfy his hunger. Well that is until he infiltrates and messes up Ileana’s spy mission. Drunk on vengeance Illeana is so close to finally finding her target and taking her revenge. But when the guardian Jax stumbles into her spy mission and threatens to destroy her moment of vengeance she makes a choice to safe her mission and take a leap into the frenzy.
Jax is dumbfounded that this female could destroy his confidence so quickly, but when he learns of her vengeance he knows that he has to protect her from herself. Would he be able to let her go and have her vengeance sated, or would he destroy her lifetime goal and keep her safe?
Ileana and Jax story was utterly amazing, but in the end Jay threw in a mayor curveball that had me gaping in surprise. Now that is amazing plotting skills right there. This series have captured me and kept me prisoner from start to finish with each book. It’s an utterly additive series that will leave you sated. I love Jay’s writing and exquisite imagination that brought this series to life. A must read series that you need to start asap.
