The pressure of being a super – especially a teen super – can get to anyone, as Jim (aka Kid Sensation) has witnessed firsthand. Now he wonders if he himself might be succumbing to the strain in some way, as he can’t shake the feeling that he is now being watched by some new stalker. Moreover, despite his wide slate of powers, he hasn’t been able to discover to a single clue to substantiate the existence of this potential new enemy, making him wonder if it’s all in his head.

Looking forward to a few days of R&R and hanging out with his friends, Jim’s downtime is interrupted by the unsettling news that Alpha Prime, the world’s greatest superhero (and Jim’s father), is missing. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Jim finds his world rocked by an even more ominous revelation: his deranged half-brother, Paramount, has escaped from confinement in a maximum security installation.

In the course of investigating these events and trying to ascertain what connection, if any, there is between them, Jim becomes privy to information concerning a potent alien device capable of laying waste to the entire planet. But he’s not the only one - an enigmatic villain wants the alien technology for his own purposes, and it’s up to Jim to find a way to stop him before the world pays the ultimate price.

This was an enjoyable fourth instalment of Kevin Hardman's fun YA,Kid Sensation, superhero series. The series follows the adventures of teen superhero Jim as he balances the dealings of his personal life with those of his job as a member of a young superheroes team. It is fun and has a nice mix of action, adventure, coming of age drama, and cool superpowered happenings.

I fell like this fourth instalment had a fun story. Things have been going so smoothly of late that Mouse and a few of the other Alpha League members have decided to take advantage of the down time to go on much needed holidays. Which makes it an inconvenient time for Alpha Prime to go missing and Paramount to escape from prison. As if that is not enough to keep Jim busy he also stumbles across an alien plot to destroy the planet!

It was an enjoyable tale. Jim had the help of a whole bunch of different people along the way to help him deal with the various developments and I quite enjoyed that aspect of the story. I'm not usually a giant fan of action scenes but to this series credit I do think Hardmen does a pretty decent job with them and I'm usually quite sucked into the action and super-battles. The alien sub-plot was less fun than the mystery surrounding Alpha Prime's disappearance or the stuff that went on with the Paramount story arc but it was still OK.

In the early books I felt like the secondary characters in this series were not that strong but I have to admit that with time Kevin Hardman has really managed to develop them into an interesting bunch of characters that I have grown interested and invested in. At this point there is a whole host of fun secondary characters! As far as this instalment goes I liked the twist we got with Paramount and I'm super interested to see how this whole story arc plays out in the future. I particularly enjoyed the fact that Jim got to meet more of his other family members in this one and I'm also a fan of how his relationship with Alpha Prime, in particular, is playing out and think it has been handled well. It was actually a good book for all the secondary characters except perhaps Jim's friends and girlfriend. That group are still a little bland.

All in all this was a fun instalment in what has become a super readable YA superhero series. It is not without its flaws and I still find the presentation of the female characters a bit eye-roll inducing from time to time but the flaws are really tame and the story really quite engaging so I'm happy with this series on the whole and feel like I should probably give it more credit than I tend to in my reviews.

Rating: 3.5 stars. I'll round down to 3 stars again but that does feel harsh as while nothing in this series really stands out as special or memorable the story never fails to hold my attention!

Audio Note: Mikael Naramore does a great job with the audio for this series.

Revelation by Kevin Hardman and narrated by Mikael Naramore is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. Wow, this book was so great! Lots of action, twists, emotions, surprises, and superhero awesomeness. It's witty, clever, sprinkled with humor and tender moments! These are not cheesy superhero books! These are exciting and lifelike. The end was a total shock so I can't wait for the next book!
The narrator excels at his job to perform the voices with passion and keeps the story going at a fast pace!! Wonderful!

You ever notice how Kevin Hardman gives each book a one word title that masterfully describes the essence of what the story is gonna be about! Well this book is all about The Revelation, but you'll need to hold on to your hat to keep up, as there's actually multiple revelations. The revelations start with Kid Sensation's (Jim's) family: The Kid grew up knowing that his mom and grandfather were his only family, but now he's learning to be a son to the dad he never knew (meeting in the 1st book), suddenly, he's  swept into a sort-of family reunion, with an uncle and cousins! Plus revelations about his friend and mentor Mouse! And that alone should be enough for one guy to take in. But no, his nemesis Paramount has escaped, and there's an evil alien who's planning a earth shattering cataclysmic event. It's up to Kid Sensation and he can't do it alone he calls on his super team, and even asks his family for help trying to put things to right!
Mikael Naramore and Kevin Hardman takes us on a pulse pounding trip that's more about a fantastic journey than getting to the end... and indeed you'll want to get to that end!

By far the best book out of the series, so far! This book we find out more interesting issues that are a part of the universe that Hardman has constructed. Aliens that want to go home. Not as nice as it might sound and not what I thought would be the aliens. Nice twist! The reader starts to see the problems that Jim is facing, having all of those super powers allows him to be a one man wrecking machine. To bad for Jim, he has a team to think of and one of those is his girlfriend, Electra. To cause further problems, Alpha Prime is missing, Jim meets more relatives, saves someone that he believes is heinous, has to deal with a crush and lastly receives a summons that he cannot refuse. Hardman is able to take a cookie cutter narrative and is able to create a story that is becoming more immersive with more backstory to characters as he writes. Knowing what market this is targeted for, it is still a great read with all of the good versus evil, and some twists that we have grown to love.

This book was given to me for free at my request for my voluntary and unbiased review.

If you like action adventure then this is the book for you. I really enjoyed this book with all the twist it took you never knew quite which direction the story was going to take next.
With all the super hero's on holiday or out on assignments the teen supers are holiday down the fort. For one teen that is a tall order. Especially when his father Alpha Prime goes missing, in trying to track him down Jim stumbles on a plot to destroy earth and a few family secrets. Can Jim and his fellow teen capes put an end to a super Villains deadly plans.
I loved this story. I have listened to the other books in this series and it was nice to get more details about Jim's home life and family but the writer does it in such away the if you haven't listened or read the previous books it doesn't matter you will still enjoy it and it's easy to follow along.
Well worth the read.

When his father goes missing, Jim meets some of his extended family and is forced to examine his feelings for his half-brother and battling aliens with nefarious plans for earth in this fourth issue of the Kid Sensation story.
There's lots of action in this one but I really like the way the story is beginning to tackle personal "human" issues as well as the comic book superhero aspects of the story.
This one has one heck of a cliffhanger ending which I'd normally hate, but it didn't bother me this time both because of the episodic format of the stories and because Hardman did such a good job of tying up majority of loose ends from the current story line before dropping the bomb shell at the end which makes me anxious to get on to the next adventure.
Well written and a lot of fun.

Super fun Superhero series!
I was lucky to have been given the first 3 audiobooks in exchange for honest reviews. Well, I splurged on this one (audiobook version) and was not disappointed! The story continues yet, doesn't get repetitive or boring. We watch Jim , aka Kid Sensation as he comes into his superhero abilities and grows along with his friends. It is a great superhero series with just the right amount of action, romance and friendship. Great for teens without the worry of crude language, sex or gory violence.
A super series to read and re-read! Cool for Sci-fi, fantasy and superhero fans.

Once again I find myself going against the trend of reviewers. A number of points spoiled my enjoyment of this book. First the character of Kid Sensation - he always has to be right and he is totally inconsiderate of others feelings, in short her is a borderline jackass. Secondly, the treatment of Electra a powerful super hero and a person in her own right yet she constantly gets referred to as only "the girlfriend" like a pair of shoes or a nice ornament, her opinion is of course ignored which leads nicely to point#3, why does the author insist that all the girls must be paired off and with a guy.
The misogynies put me off what could have been a good book - only 3 stars

Full disclosure: I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Revelation is the fourth book in the Kid Sensation series. If you have read and enjoyed the first three, then you should enjoy this tale as well. I really appreciate Hardman’s wit and the voice he gives to Jim. This series is a great middle-grade sci-fi series, that the whole family could enjoy. If you like superheroes then try out this series. Hardman knows how to tell a great tale and Naramore is an excellent narrator!

A character returns, but not how you would expect. Most of the big leagues are missing (after ready Mouse’s Tale it’s a bit disappointing, which you should read before this book). Kid meets some family, saves the world from imminent destruction but this time with help from an unlikely source.

I wouldn’t say it was the best of the first 4, but I would attribute that to Kid’s attitude through the book. If he wasn’t being so stubborn and brattish about the situation, the story would have felt smoother.

Kid Sensation: Revelation is a good superhero story, but a lot happens in the book. In a way, it reminds me of a series of a TV show with multiple episodes that tie together. Jim is rejoined by his superhero friends and makes a bunch of new friends along the way as well as some new enemies.

The narrator of these audiobooks is excellent. He does a great job with character voices and really makes the books come alive.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

My fifth read from author Kevin Hardman. Well-written super-hero sci-fic/suspense, with well-developed recurring characters. With each book Hardman writes the story-line gets more enticing, drawing the reader deeper & deeper. Narrator Mikael Naramore’s talented narration adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I’ll be reading more in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, and found it very entertaining. Life is always difficult as teenager, but add being a superhero and having the world to save, it becomes stressful to say the least. With a very interesting plot, developed around very unique characters this story moves along a good pace, and suddenly it's over. With just the right amount of suspense, action and humour makes it well worth the listen.

Hardman knocks it out of the park again. This can be listened to as a stand alone, but you are really missing out if you don’t listen or read Hardman’s other Kid Sensation books.

Without revealing to much plot, this story follows Jim, Electra, Smoky and sometimes Lee as they try to solve the disappearance of one of the world’s greatest heroes. There are many really good plot twists.

Naramore is a great narrator. Not only in these novels but also in Hardman’s other series’ as well.

Math the true virus

The story sticks to great premise threw out the story with chacthers thinking actions threw and giving explanations to the villains plans. Do I think the POV of other chacthers needs some more work because at times it felt like chacthers where just there for the ride, but the finale problem I had was the rush out the end that felt like to much in a few moments that shouldn’t have solved so quickly with there chacther personality’s.

Again, "Jim" has another eventful few days, whilst the adults are off doing there own thing, "Jim", otherwise known as "Kid Sensation", saves the world under very harrowing circumstances.
This is the 4th audiobook in this series, and I have enjoyed the storyline in the series, but the narrator adds that extra wham, to the story, by the various characters vocalizations.

I absolutely love these books

I've now read 4 of these books expecting a drill off in quality....none yet. Jim and his friends have some of the best writing to date. Great writing, interesting characters and non-stop actions.....all rolled up in an extraordinary main character with an ordinary teen kids frame of mind. I'm hooked.

Another solid entry

After binging the first 4 books in this series I have to say it reminds me of the good books in the Percy Jackson series, not the Taj that came after the first series

The title is very apt, there are definite surprises in this book and more of Jim's background and family is revealed. As with all the others in the series, I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.

I'm done.

Sub par plotlines, a MC who flip flops worse than a politician. Over the top story arcs that all just call in to place at the end. And personal interactions that belong an a teen soap opera, nope, I'm done with this series.

The story didn't progress in major ways forward. This was more like another episode in the adventures of our hero, where everything is pretty much the same at the end of the book as when it started (minor changes for the core cast).

It was a fun adventure.

The strain of being a teen superhero can be tremendous, especially when your dad is the most powerful superhero around. But Jim thinks he is going nuts when he thinks he is being follow but he kind of forgets about it when his uncle (who he has never met) shows up and says his dad is missing and he finds out his deranged half brother has escaped secure imprisonment as well.

This is not our normal superhero story as Kid Sensation (AKA Jim, or should that be the other way around?) does have normal teen issues to deal with as well, girlfriend problems, being left home alone even though he can teleport anywhere he likes, thing like that and more. I think that is one of the things that has drawn me to these stories, and since I don't have super eyes I get the audio version that stars voice actor Mikael Naramore who is just great with the voices of all the characters in the book, he truly is remarkable. He and author Hardman do a invisible dance to get the story told with all the action and suspense relayed to the audience in a way that is just wonderful to listen too and listener will not want to stop, maybe that could be a awesome superpower.

I'll try to keep the exclamation marks to a minimum.Terrific book.Kevin Hardman has such an eye for detail.Great plot, consistent and lovable characters.Fantastically fictional yet realistic.Smart, level headed, and goofy main character that still isn't afraid to make mistakes. Also +10 Points for following up on old character and plots(Ever read a book and think whatever happened to so and so with the girl and that thing then the author gives little to no explanation.Drives me crazy!!).Thank you for defying teenage cliche of random displays of emotion at the wrong time and place it's in almost every book with a teen as a main character .Then it turns into some god awful twilight love triangle testosterone fueled suck fest. The ending in a few words:WTWDFI;UGVWE;FVWEIUVE SO MANY QUESTIONS? I can't wait for the next book!!
