Holy piece of shit, Batman.
This might actually be the worst thing I've ever read.
No seriously, I just can't EVEN explain how fucking bad this thing was.
We had OMG kill-for-you luuuurve after a couple weeks of emails and one - ONE - in person meeting.
And don't even get me stated on the "tough" mc bikers waxing poetic about their feels in the middle of the clubhouse.
Because, you know, nothing says "badass" like telling your buddies "she's getting to you" and "this might be the one" like a love struck Belieber.
Yeah.
Fucking.
Right.

Ok I liked this novella. I liked the author's previous series. This will be a spin off that I am excited to read.
Why the mediocre score? TSTL heroine. I was liking her right up until the end. I will not spoil the book. But I cannot stand when a man can deceive the heroine and she does not even call him out in it. I know this is a short novella so there is no time for a lot of groveling. But nothing at all?! Hero does explain and I did want them to end up together. But she let down the sisterhood by rolling over without even a stern look.
That being said, this is totally safe and I am ready to read about Maverick's crew!

I realize this is a novella, and a lead into a series... but.. damn, the characters moved fast in this story. The instant "love" was a bit unrealistic to me.
They meet via email while Allie, who is a child of the foster system and employee of the Department of Children's Services is trying to secure a contractor to build a place where kids can congregate in a safe and fun environment.
I didn't really connect with the characters in this short story. However, looking at the ratings on the rest of the series, I think I'm going to continue, or at least see how Maverick turnes out.

Their emails turn flirty rather quickly, and by the time they meet, it seems to be love at first sight. Again, I get that this is a novella, but this was seriously fast.
I didn't really connect with the characters in this short story. However, looking at the ratings on the rest of the series, I think I'm going to continue, or at least see how Maverick turnes out.

Summer Storm is now live on Amazon. It's the intro to Maverick's series, Satan's Fury MC. It was included in the Summer Fire boxed set, which limited my word count. It is listed on Amazon as 69 pages, but in Summer Fire it had 100. Either way, it gives a little taste of what's to come with Maverick's new series. I hope you enjoy it.

wow! I don't even know where to start. first this book took me 2.5 seconds to read and in that, it took all of two days for them to meet, bang, kill someone and fall in love. I want to know what u people that gave it 5 stars read, that I didn't. if it's cause you got it for free. while so did I with Kindle unlimited and I still wouldn't give it more then one star

Allie, a child of the foster system and employee of the Department of Children's Services, dreams of a place where kids can congregate safely and participate in a variety of programs, activities and special events. This is an important project for Allie, both professionally and personally. Enter Guadrail aka Kane and SF Construction.

The interaction between them doesn’t make sense, and can she be more of a moronic victim waiting to happen
He pulls away at the site and shows up at her home later, where he shouldn’t know she lives. She not only invites him in, but flirts too
Saying someone is asking for it is horrible, but dude she’s totally asking for it
“soon I was standing there in only bra and panties and his clothes was in a pile with my robe and nightie.”
Not a direct quote, but something like that. Seriously, besides movies who the hell goes to bed in bra and panties?? Must be an American thing
“Your body is mine, all of you is mine, I’m never letting you go.” “I meant what I said, I’m not letting you go.”
This is before he tells her he wants her brother dead. Riiight. I hope she shoots him. Bastard
She spills every effing secret to a guy she just met? She IS asking for it.
“Can you really trust him,” the bastard says. That’s something she should be asking herself about YOU
She laughs and calls him mysterious, saying he doesn’t tell her much about himself… WARNING WARNING WARNING
But no, that’s completely normal.

L. Wilder is one of my favorite authors when it comes to Motorcycle Club romance books. It's been a while since I read a book in the
Satan's Fury MC
series and I'm happy that I read this short novella! Allie and Guardrail's story was sweet, love-at-first-sight kinda story. There was steam, drama and violence, all the things that someone needs. I'm picking up another book soon!

For those of you that are fans you remember we met Maverick through her Devil Chasers MC series.
Summer Storm is Kane "Guardrail" Blackwood, Satan Fury's VP, and Allison Parker's story.
Allie, a child of the foster system and employee of the Department of Children's Services, dreams of a place where kids can congregate safely and make something of themselves not feeling different or left out. Her brother and she were separated when they went into the system. Her foster family was kind and loving. Her brother didn’t have the same fate. He finds trouble and it seems he has gotten into the worst of it this go around. This project for Allie, both professionally and personally means the word to her. Neil has trusted her to take control and make a name for herself and his company. He gave her full control. Hopefully flirting via email with the contractor who has the lead bid wont derail her plans and focus.
Kane’s MC has opened SF Construction. It was a perfect way to hide illegal business behind a legitimate one. The construction company has taken off though as well making a name for itself. The quality of the work has people lining up to hire them. If they can land this deal with Allie their name will be everywhere. Emailing her and getting attached was not part of the deal. Finding her brother Tony was. It’s the sole reason Kane contacted her asking to place a bid. Tony stole from his club and he has to pay. What does that mean for Allie and Kane? When she finds out the truth will everything explode in Kane’s face?
This is a fast paced story with a plot that is crazy but good. I will be watching this series to see how it develops. Worth the click

L Wilder, you hit another home run!! You are a master at writing sensually rugged biker bad boys that I can't get enough of!!! You can tell when reading anything by L Wilder, that she writes with her heart and just loves her characters!!!
Oh Allie and Kane!!! I'm in love with these two!!! Allie is just as strong as any of the female leads from A Devil Chaser's MC series!! She is just vulnerable enough, yet independent enough to know when to stand up for what she believes in yet understand when things aren't as she wishes and can accept help when needed.
Kane is such a strong, possessive, alpha biker bad boy, yet he has this side that is for Allie only!! For Allie, he is strong, sensual, caring, protective and comforting. She feels at peace and calm with him. Yet he can be a force to be reckoned with as Allie's brother, Tony, knows all to well.
I can't wait to read more on these two lovers as we get further into A Satan's Fury MC series. I also look forward to learning more on Maverick, I remember him from A Devil Chaser's MC, and remember wanting a good woman for him!!!!

Summer Storm is the short novella that is meant to start the Satan's Fury MC series. I was expecting back story, I was expecting to get to know more of the brothers and the inner workings of Satan's Fury. Instead we get …really nothing. Even after reading these 100 pages I don't know how this MC works, anything about Guardrail other then he's the VP and he owns the Construction Co. that is meant to the the front for the MC. I know more about Allie, and even then it's all very superficial.
While it's not totally out of this realm that they're attracted to each other due to an email flirtation that spans weeks. But it's hard to really get to attached with the story or the people in it when you don't see but a hand full of those short interactions.
The Dialogue is a bit spotty and feels a bit force…it doesn't seem natural. The smut's okay very alpha-esqe but again hard to really get all gooey about them when everything is being stuffed into less then 100 pages.
Final recommendation: 1/5 - While I'm just a bit curious about the rest of the series (maybe length of the book helps with the character development) this one doesn’t get me over the moon excited about the rest of them.

I liked this MC novella and is the first book in a series, I hope it continues to hold my interest throughout the many books. I have great expectations for this series.
Allison and her brother Tony grew up in foster care, just not in the same home, after their parents were killed in a car accident. Allison had a caring home and Tony had multiple foster kids.
Allison went on to work in the Dept. of Children's Services and at this time was in the process of gathering bids for the construction of a new youth center. But she also was having a personal interest in a certain contractor who they were texting back and forth with her. But what she didn't know was that that person had a dual purpose.
Kane is a member of the Satan's Fury MC and texting back and forth with Allison about the proposed contract bid for the youth center. He also runs the SF Construction which is a legitimate business and also a way to launder money for the MC.
As the VP of the MC, he has been assigned the job to find, Tony, the man who stole a 50 thousand dollar shipment. He'd been chosen as the leader of one of the street gangs, for the drug distribution. But Tony had decided to keep the money and actually thought he would get away with it.
So now Kane, aka, Guardrail, is doing his job and tracking and checking all details to complete that job. Only there was something going on between him and Allison that he didn't want to f@*kup.
Allison is meeting Kane at the site and to get the bid/proposal for SF Construction on the youth center.
When she arrives at the site Kane is already there waiting. He watches her get out of the car and is fascinated with what he sees. Hello there handsome, she says and she starts walking towards him.
Allison says, is this really happening? as she approaches him. When she was close enough, Kane leans down and presses his lips to hers lightly then more so.
Then Allison's phone rings. It's her brother...

I appreciate any talent in any art form. I never want to take away from that.
This was not the style for me.
So many things about this for my own personal taste were missing. That's ok though. It's this authors style & just not for me.
The pace was way too fast, with too little attention to the details.
Their connection was too instantaneous with again, super fast brief tidbits.
No anticipation.
No build up.
No angst.
No sexy nothing.
He held very little interest for me. Typical biker "body of a God, super tough bad guy", blah blah blah.
She was the perfect Barbie. Zero depth.
The evil villain in the story? Was there one???
I have zero connection to the club or its members. Not one stood out that made me think that I can't wait to read his story & actually, and at the risk of being redundant...we didn't even get other members long enough to be tide too & if we did...too briefly with barley any back story.
This author is very tame so those that only like evasive hotness, this will work for you. Very little naughtiness in either verbally or visually because again, too little description. I really felt zero heat. No flutters. No tingling.
I gave two stars for the clean edit & for her bravery & talent.
Sadly, I'll be passing on the rest of the series.

Not a bad story, could have been longer and drawn out more. I didn't really connect with the characters, but I really liked Guardrail and Allie. I enjoyed their flirting emails and how he was with her.
Allie was dead set on helping her brother, Tony, but had no idea what he was truly like. It was sad how he ended up being and how that played out. Guardrail set out to get information from Allie in regards to Tony, however, he lost his heart and claimed hers in the end.
I gave the story a 2 star rating as I felt I was jipped on more angst/drama and good story telling when it came to the issue of Tony. The way that ended, and the lack of feelings and trauma it should have had on Allie, just didn't work for me. Also, there was definitely not enough novel space, apparently, to draw us into the story more when it came to people like Cassidy, Maverick, and Dallas. We meet these three in the next book, and get more story-line but I felt like it could have been written better? I would have liked to meet Skidrow. And why does it say that Maverick was the SAA's in this story, when he doesn't even become that until his book AFTER something else happens during the story?
Editing would have been good for this story too.

We meet these three in the next book, and get more story-line but I felt like it could have been written better? I would have liked to meet Skidrow. And why does it say that Maverick was the SAA's in this story, when he doesn't even become that until his book AFTER something else happens during the story?
Editing would have been good for this story too.

Not The Best Start
Novellas, in general, are tricky. Telling a complete story in one just never works, in my opinion. Summer Storm is a perfect example. To really connect with the characters a reader needs pages for them to develop and become someone we care about, not to mention dedicated time to buy into a romance between characters. Wilder's other books may have these connections, but Summer Storm doesn't.
Wilder uses the narrative to basically tell the reader the story. At no time did I feel engaged in what was happening. The story jumped from building a youth center to an online romance to the hunt for a gang leader who robbed the local MC even though he had a profitable relationship with them. Throw in some sex and you've got enough to fill 250 pages, easily. Instead, Summer Storm is more like an outline of that full length book.

Novella a sweet one . M. C story by Leslie Wild . Hero is Guardrail real name is Kane . . He's the VP. Heroine is Ally . The 2 characters meet on line when Ally need a bid for a youth center . Kane had a purpose when he contacted Ally . Only thing is it started as one thing but it developed to something else . Grab it and see .

4 QUICK HOT STARS
Nice start to a really promising series. Meet Kane (Guardrail) who is one of Satan's Fury MC and he is about to cross paths with Ali. She is being watched by the club but she doesn't know it . Fast moving story. Little bit instalove but that never really bothers me, and this is a novella after all. I am looking forward to reading Maverick's story.

Too quick of insta-love for a supposedly strong willed/minded woman.
HOWEVER, that being said, I still enjoyed it because I read Maverick first and the two characters had quickly become a favorite in that book for me.

This book was just OK. Guardrail/Kane and Allie. Tony, Allie’s brother, set her up to be killed and to take his fall for him stealing from the MC. This book was very short and I couldn’t really get caught up with the characters because it was so short. Will read on with the series.

This story is going to catch you from the prologue to the last chapter, it is the beginning of the stories of the Satan's Fury MC Series and we can know a little more about what happens in this club when we met Maverick in Devil Chaser's, it is a sweet story but full of twists and turns, we will meet Guardrail (Kane) and Allie (Alison) who due to the actions of Tony (Allie's brother) their lives will be crossed, Guardrail seeking revenge for his club and Allie having no idea where She is led by her brother's lies and secrets, they will test how much love or attraction can be in these adverse situations, highly recommended and I can't wait to meet these bad boys from Satan's Fury MC.

This novella is the start to the Satan’s Fury MC Series by Leslie Wilder. I picked it up almost by accident and started reading it on Kindle Unlimited to see if I liked Ms. Wilder’s writing style. I was pleasantly surprised by this 100-page novella and wish it had been longer.
Allison was raised in foster care and separated at a young age from her brother, Tony. She has tried to stay in touch, but Tony’s life took a very different path than her own. As part of Allie’s job, she is working to get a Youth Center built to help other foster children. She meets a construction contractor named Kane via email, and they exchange messages back and forth for weeks, an online relationship growing between them. Kane is bidding on the Youth Center job. Allie does not know that her brother is involved in gang activity and has double-crossed and stolen $50,000 from a motorcycle club that runs the town. Allie’s online contractor friend is also more than he seems – he’s the VP of the motorcycle club, tasked with finding and eliminating Tony. When Allie meets Kane in person, sparks fly immediately. Kane decides to make Allie his and hopes he can keep her despite what he must do.
I enjoyed this enough to download Ms. Wilder’s previous MC series and start at the beginning.

Fast paced novella introducing Satan’s Fury MC
This is the first novella introducing a new series by L. Wilder about Satan’s Fury MC. It features Guardrail, the club’s VP, and Allison, the sister of the man who ripped off the club.
Guardrail has been tasked with tracking down and taking care of Tony, Allison’s brother. He stole drugs and cash from the club, actions that are punishable by death in their world. The club was able to track down he had a sister and Guardrail initially made contact with her under the guise of bidding on a project through her work. There is just something about her that gets his attention and he finds himself with real feelings.
It is well-written grammatically, with only an issue or two. The characters are developed more than I expected given the short length and the story universe / world building was started as far as the introduction of the clubhouse, some members and their construction business. Definitely more than enough to structure a series upon moving forward. Looking forward to learning more about them and the club.
** There are a few scenes that may be difficult for sensitive readers and these include drug use, drug distribution, gun running, money laundering, subterfuge, assault, etc. **

Satan’s Fury VP Kane ‘Guardrail’ Blackwood felt no guilt for submitting on project manager Allison ‘Allie’ Parker’s public bid request as a way of getting information on her brother, Tony. The MC needs Tony to settle a debt to them he probably won’t live through but Tony resists talking to Allie unless he needs something from her.
After weeks of online flirting, Allie’s completely infatuated with Guardrail but apprehensive of their first meeting though she has no idea of his ulterior motive, Guardrail’s falling for Allie too, and believes she has little to no contact with Tony regularly. Meanwhile, Tony chooses now to extract a promise Allie will help him no matter what.

It only took two pages for these leads to go from online flirting & first meeting to trading secrets & kissing to sex & moving in with a backdrop of Guardrail’s secret mission and internal fuming over Tony! For my taste, the writing is fairly good and I liked but didn’t really connect with the leads. Overall, the read was so rushed it was barely coherent.

Summer Storm is a novella (Book #.05) in the Satan's Fury MC by L. Wilder. This is Guardrail’s (aka Kane) and Allie’s story.
I’m not sure this series is for me. Some of the story is fine, but other parts are rushed and the dialogue is a bit juvenile at times.
Allie’s inner thoughts for the entire first part of the book are about how she has never really dated anyone and stays to herself. Then she receives an email from Kane about something for her work and becomes instantly infatuated. After just a few weeks of email communications, she has fallen hard for him and they’ve never even met! She starts flirting and becomes this brazen woman which didn’t fit her personality up to this point at all. Kane apparently feels the same way and their relationship takes instalove to a whole other level.
The scene with her brother, the same brother she talked about loving and always being there for -- I mean Allie didn't even cry or get upset about what she did.
Like I said, I’m just not sure this series is for me.
