Wedding bells are ringing in magical Royal Windsor!
Windsor witch Amber Eldritch is just three days away from marrying her hunky vampire policeman, David Van Danté. But when their registrar is killed by a crossbow bolt during the wedding rehearsal, Amber’s happily ever after takes a deadly detour.
Soon she’s chasing clues through Windsor’s magical streets, following an ancient letter that points to buried Roman treasure, and wondering what rabbit breeders have to do with murder.
With Easter magic going haywire, a murderer at large, and her wedding day fast approaching, Amber has one weekend to crack the case.
Luckily, she has a talking cat, an angel bestie, and one very determined vampire groom on her side.
Can Amber unmask the killer and finally make it down the aisle?
Full of magical mayhem, a twisty mystery, and a romance ten years in the making, Happily Ever Wafer is the most sparkling instalment yet in the Cat Café Magical Mystery series.
This magical series is back and for a very good reason, Amber and David are getting married, oh and to solve a murder and the world. If this is your first time joining the series, then where have you been, you have missed out on eight magical books, so far. They can work as standalone mysteries but I think they are enjoyed so much more when read in order and you let the fun and mysteries play out.
I love the characters, it's like spending time with old family friends and for me David is the closest I want to come to meeting a vampire. He and Amber make the perfect couple, which is important with what the author has them facing in this book. Of course with a wedding happening all the regulars are present, including one particular ginger fur ball.
The mystery was good and I had no clue who the killer was or even why, until it was all revealed. Which then lead to an ah moment as all the clues I missed were stitched together and I had to wonder why I didn't see it, I think it was because I was so caught up in everything else that was going on. The author certainly had fun with this book and that comes across loud and clear in the situations the characters find themselves caught up in. I am so glad to see there is another book in the works and I can't wait for it to arrive.
Amber and David are getting married but during the wedding rehearsal the registrar is killed, Amber gets cursed and can't say the word wedding and David gets stuck in his other form. Most people would wonder if it's a sign? Not novice witch Amber, instead she sees it as a sign to find a killer and save the world. With the death of the registrar magic is going haywire. The only way to stop evil from taking over from where the cloaks left off is for the killer to be caught and the wedding to go head, proving the world with a much needed magical boost. Can Amber piece together the clues? Or will she be lead up the garden path on a wild swan chase? I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Planning the wedding that Amber and David have waited to have is three days away. Rehearsal for the wedding was Interesting. Amber, wearing her wedding shoes, looking at Dante at the other end, her magic exploded raising her off the floor and zooming down the isle. David was able to stop her and save her from crashing into the registrar. Second run was successful and as the registrar was speaking, she screamed and when David lowered her to the floor there was an antique arrow in her neck. Alex and David have told her to stay out of it, what is funny, everywhere she goes, he finds her getting involved. Some how she has been cursed by a swan, yes a swan, whi says she has to save England and until she does, she cannot say the word wedding! I laughed til my face hurt reading this book. From chapter one to the end Amber and her family are totally funny.
Witch Amber Eldritch is just three days away from marrying the love of her life, vampire, Detective David Van Danté but at the wedding rehearsal, their registrar suddenly drops dead after being shot by a crossbow. Both Detectives Van Danté and Alex Taylor searched the building but found no one and the crossbow was missing. With days until the wedding, Amber along with her best friend, angel Harry are soon investigating the death. I love the magical town of Windsor and adore all the characters in this series, including Amber, her magical cat Marmalade Sandwich, Harry, David and witch cousin Evelyn. Next book, please. I can hardly wait. A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
It's finally time for Amber and David's big day, but as you know, things never go smoothly in Amber's world. A swan appears and says her name. All of a sudden she can't say wedding. At the rehearsal their registrar is murdered and the country needs saving. The pair have to the night before their big day to solve the murder and save the world, or it can't go forward. A fun and funny book from Reed that kept me reading past bedtime!
Amber and David are having a marriage rehearsal when the Registrar gets shot with a crossbow bolt. A swan that knows her name seems to be stalking her, but when she goes to Marvelton to see her Grandmother, the swan tells her she has to fix a big problem! That and solve a murder! Then another murder happens and this helps David & Amber solve the crimes. Once again, a good read.
An adventure-filled tale of love and magic with all my favourite characters. The worldbuilding and the venue for the wedding are delightful, and I loved the humour, f.i. “Now, where shall we start not getting involved in this case.”

This is the series that got me back into reading paranormal after a long hiatus. A fairy tale for adults, that you just want to climb into the story and join Amber and Marmalade Sandwich on all their adventures! And eat lots of CAKE! Glad that Amber got to marry her awesome vampire, but sad this is the last of the series. Hopefully, she and the crew will visit in Evelyn's series!
Love this series! So exciting that it is finally Amber and David’s big day! Magical Windsor, wonderful characters, supportive friendships, humor, romance and mystery combine to make this lovely series so unputdownable! I would absolutely love to be there in person! I love Amber and Harry’s relationship! These are my opinions after enjoying an advance copy of the book.
These stories are funny and light hearted fun, when the wedding is due, a murder happens, Amber can't say wedding, but she still manages to sneak around cast spells, which she is getting better at, impersonate her love even and figure who killed who and why. It's a nice cozy mystery murder, one you can just smile at and enjoy.
This was short but it warmed the heart though there were some wicked bits it was a cozy mystery and yes it was a page turner. Loved it and hope there are more in this series
And Amber's wedding to David is here. It took some time, for her and him ;), while I patiently waited for this book. However, what's a wedding without a murder thrown in? When Amber's wedding officiate is murdered during her wedding rehearsal, Amber with the help of the usual cast of friends and family, will unofficially aid David in solving the case and ensure her wedding proceeds post-haste. Par for the course, there is more than just a murder to solve, she'll need to also save Easter, and if she is lucky, maybe find lost treasure to boot. Although it isn't always smooth sailing, there is always a happy ending.
