Dear Author, Those bastards are after me again. I know if they catch me, they will kill me. I hopped a fence and fell into a pool/hot tub, interrupting two very sexy, naked men. Great, now these two will probably kill me.
Photo Description: A hunky, muscular bear with a shaven head and a trimmed beard sits on a pool deck. His muscular partner, also with a trimmed beard, but cropped hair, is down in the water between his legs, left hand on his right thigh, other hand on his left pec, contentedly sucking the shaven-headed hunk’s cock.
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love is an Open Road" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.

As I continue to write and grow as a new M/M Romance author, I find myself drawn to certain basic themes: family, rural and urban living, the wide variety of settings possible in my home state of California, and to the ongoing struggles of LGBTQ people to find happiness, prosperity, acceptance, and love in a world that is getting better, but which has a long way to go.
I rarely venture into "the more, the merrier" territory. When I do, it's because the three characters just compliment each other well, the relationship building is well done, and they each bring something to said relationship. I don't like when the dynamic is set, and then a character gets a free pass to then start a new relationship with an entirely new character. (I skimmed. This does in fact happen.) So it's probably for the best that I stopped. But that's not why I stopped.
I kept hoping it would get less awkward. That the situations would become less absurd or inappropriate, but I found that they just kept getting worse.
This book will appeal to a lot of people. The characters are interesting, but the situations are so foreign and inappropriate to me that I just cannot wrap my head around them. Coupled with the strange emphasis on nicknames, Kyle's tattoo, and ginger status, and this just wasn't the book for me.
No rating in spirit of the event. My thanks to the author for their effort and participation in the Love is an Open Road event.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

not-my-kink
The tags were a warning but I liked the pic/prompt so gave it a try. Situations early on felt odd, highly inappropriate and discomforting. By skimming I know they get worse. There was also an obsession with Gingers and a plethora of ultra odd nick-names.
Thanks, but no thanks.
Read a little, skimmed some, but clearly not-for-me so not enough to rate.
This is the story based on my prompt. This is the second year I submitted a prompt and the second year I had a five-star story. I loved it! Certainly not the story I had in mind, but I loved it nonetheless. Thank you so much to Jay for writing this incredible story. I loved the characters, the nicknames, the Goonies reference! I thought the characters had great depth. I loved the togetherness and openness of everyone, even if it was a little weird with the Moms. Thanks, again, Jay for a very hot, erotic, and weird story! And thank you for the very hot cover!
I really appreciate the opportunity afforded me to write this story. I know it is not perfect by any sense of the meaning, and that it is not for everyone. There are very graphic scenes, and controversial situations. I would recommend that readers pay attention to the content warnings before starting this story. Thank you to the readers who found it to their liking and so indicated.
In writing this story, I sought to explore polyamorous relations, gay athletes, college life, and families of choice. I hope that given the situations faced by the main character, his loves and life choices would come across as the best ones he could make.
This would have works better as a play than a story. It was so stuffed with clever dialogue that it was tedious for me to read. I gave up after a couple chapters.
This isn’t my typical story I’d read. I don't prefer to read MMM(or more) stories. It had elements that aren’t my cup of tea. Couples that are connected with other couples that switch partners. Troy’s mother(I’ll tell you more later). I really prefer to read a story that doesn’t involve an open-relationship or partner swapping. This was a very loving story. I think in the end it ended up with a few couples who are all in a relationship, so like a total of seven? There were so many characters to keep track of. Plus some of them have nicknames/titles, which makes it harder if you aren’t paying attention.
With that said, if you are into open-relationships that are loving and they don’t consider it cheating(because none of them do), orgies and all that, this is the story for you. It includes talking about how some religious people are very homophobic(not that all religious people are, just some of them). This story involves good friendships, and forming new families. Having each others backs and just wanting the best for your friends and lovers.
The main couple is an established couple who have been together for eleven years. But they're okay bringing in another once in a while. Devin and Troy both work at a local college and have several students who are gay that are under them. One in particular, Pratt, a sexy redhead who is very promiscuous. They both want him to be their permanent third. They tease and flirt with him shamelessly and finally they bring him into the fold. Pratt is super excited about having claim on the two older sexy bears. But their love is open sharing. Some other couples come together, friends of Pratts. Actually, Pratt is the anchor for them all. The common denominator.
Even though the couples were okay with the open-relationships, I personally just saw it as cheating. Plus, partner swapping. Pratt was freely loved by many. Perhaps if the main couple wasn't already established, I'd welcome it more. But what really put me off was the nude psychoanalysis that Troy’s mother Marie did. She make you strip naked and do sessions to help you open up. It made me uncomfortable just reading about it. Telling his son’s young lover it was okay to jack off and lick off his come was too much for me. That was to much for me.
Also in the story is Pratt coming to terms with himself and allowing himself to be loved. He helps a fellow in the closet man ditch his ex-asshole friends and helped him get a boyfriend(part of their loving family).
Take out the MMM/partner swapping, I thought it was well written, though confusing at the first with the nicknames. But it became easier as the story progressed. I feel the solid friendships were well executed and it was nice to see people support one another.
It was nice to step outside my comfort zone and read something that I usually avoid. I felt the characters were all individualize and realistic. And it wasn't all fluff. There were some real issues that they had to deal with, so it made it better.
So, if your into reading a story with multiple partners that have 3D characters with a happy ending, then definitely give this story a read.
I thought this book had everything going for it.....until I read it. The photo, prompt and premise were there. Unfortunately the execution let it down.
A totally over-the-top fun read, that totally lacked emotion. Gah! This was so long and needed to NOT be told to me: the story-line bizarre, the dialogue wicked crazy, the sex short and sweet and with everyone. This was m/m, m/m/m and then m/m/m (orgy) times 13 or so, even a little f/f tongue action. College Greek life, swimmers, drama boys, age-gap, fistacuffs, gay-bashing, straight guys who are really gay, and you name it, it's probably in there.
The changing nicknames and switching between first and last names often threw me out of the story and really, I truly want to meet those Moms. GLAAD would be honored to have those bold women join their ranks, but nude psychotherapy... say what??
I kept saying as I read this book, it was the craziest thing I've ever read, it was Sodom and Gamorrah meet Revenge of the Nerds. Reality and this book are not friends, between the Tiger and the Bears, it didn't need Lions, because it practically had the kitchen sink. Way out of my kink, this will teach me to pay more attention to the synopsis when choosing a book. I did love the 'moms' in this book though, you wouldn't want to piss either of them off. I'm giving it 3.5 Stars for being so outrageous.
okay so I was really excited for this because the picture was dirk and jesse and it was poly. then it got weird which was interesting then it got to freaky and bizarre. I am all for massive orgies but it was just so weirdly done. I thank the author for giving the prompt a go and done differently I might have loved this instead I just feel weird and lukewarm.
Suuuuuper NSFW sexy Bear goodness! Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love Is An Open Road event. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!["br"]>
If this wasn't part of Love is an Open Road, this would be a clear 1 star rating for me. I really tried but there is just to much wrong here for me. I cringed every few lines.
2.75 stars. That was a LOT of sex and nudity...but there seemed to be just a little too much story packed in here. By the end, it felt a little like "what ELSE can possibly happen to these guys?!" Not bad, just...not great, either.
