Unexplained Ancient Aliens Or Lost Technology? ** Now on its Third Edition! ** When we look at the incredible feats of engineering that our ancestors were able to achieve, it leaves us in awe. Not just because these structures are beautiful and shrouded in mystery, but because they were constructed on a scale we can't comprehend, thousands of years ago. The Missing Tech Behind The World’s Greatest Structures Modern science claims everything boils down to physical labor and primitive tools, yet can't replicate an effective recreation strategy. Thankfully this book does not focus much on the ET hypothesis regarding ancient megalithic construction but rather on the construction itself and the brief summary of the key things known about each site. In this regard the book was, surprisingly, a good source to briefly review some key archeological and anthropological controversies regarding each of these historical sites. However interesting the idea may be that extraterrestrials may have been involved in the construction of ancient megalithic structures, the idea sounds like a genuine disservice done to ancient cultures who strove for generations in many cases to leave an indelible mark in the story of mankind. All their ingenuity, skills and cultural heritage as they aspired towards something bigger than themselves is muddied when the credit goes to unscientific claims of extra-solar beings doing it for them. The most unfortunate issue in this regard is that many of the apparently unexplained processes that require 'alien intervention' have been credibly explained by architects, engineers, anthropologists and archeologists using nothing more than human ingenuity and engineering skills based on a sound understanding of the concept of mechanical advantage and the application of forces. But since such discussions are a lot less interesting than alien visitations, lesser books are published that talk about the scholarly rebuttals to such theories. There of course are a lot of unsolved mysteries about our past and many books (Graham Hancock's work for example) give alternate hypotheses without invoking aliens as the last resort. For those interested in knowing the scholarly and scientific rebuttals to the 'aliens did it' brand of thought may want to watch this documentary on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9w-i...
I read this book to see what the missing technology was. But instead there was a fair amount of BS to be found in this book. Now I am no expert on ancient civilizations and the like, but I know that just because we don't know or can't duplicate these ancient structures doesn't mean that ancient peoples could have had ways to do it. So if we can't explain it, it has to be aliens from outer space. Now I did enjoy the book and it got me to think about the past and how the people were able to do these things. So if you are interested in ancient building that have a hint of mystery to them check this one out BS and all.
This book was great reading. Didn't realize that all these ancient structures existed. I also liked how the author gave knowledge on who they thought built the structure, why built, and what they were made of.
I have been streaming on The Roku Channel for quite some time and watching all about these places around the world, about what ancient life on our Earth was like through the centuries. Not only the people, but also all of their legends, beliefs and what, when and who they had worshipped. It has been very interesting for me to find out about the many sites that they had built. The amazing cities and structures that would be impossible for our supposedly advanced peoples, with all of our modern equipment, and all of our stored knowledge that we now have today... To rebuild (As Well) if we could at all? From everything I have read or watched most reports on these sites were declared to be immense in size beyond a normal human's ability to have been made with the tools and manpower that would have been available at the time (and that is still true!) that these places were supposed to have been built at, the age of their scientifically proposed existence. Not to mention the difficulties of where they were placed and the rarity of the resources that were used to build them, this led me to believe by these implications that we (humans) could not have built them ourselves, and by their reports that the Gods did it all! As hokie as that all sounds, it also makes it easier to understand why those ancient long-ago people who revered and worshipped these monolithic places that the Gods had left them to carry out their worship of them...while the Gods themselves disappeared. We to this day don't know who those Gods were or how they were able to do the things that they were reportedly to have done! But the evidence is there for us to see and to measure, to inspect, to collect and file away for some dedicated persons to spend their lives putting the stories from the distant past into a documented, clear and understandable language for all who wish to investigate this mysterious enigma. It does challenge us all, to think about our vast Solar System and all that may inhabit it. Personally, I do not believe we could be alone... Or we would have destroyed ourselves by now.!
I choose to follow common sense. The Aliens did it all. For example, 80 to 100-ton stones quarried, pre-shaped to fit, moved prodigious miles, placed or lifted - by human hand? No. In all of the world's astonishing engineering feats carried out in ancient times, not one tool, diamond-tipped drill bit, a cutting tool or jig has ever been found. Why not? Because they were never used. Aliens did the whole thing, using their techniques. In modern times we have seen photographic proof of field animals dissected in place with a surgeon's precision to have internal body parts removed, with no bleeding. Many believe this was done by Aliens. I do. So why not believe that Aliens have figured in our history since the year dot? The Romans, I understand, were the world's finest field engineers and you can see their work in Turkey, for example. So yes, many feats are explainable, but not the jaw-dropping precision work detailed in Robert Jean Redfern's book. The precision that we cannot achieve even today. And yes, I believe in UFOs. My parents, many years ago, at night, in fright, witnessed a giant torpedo-shaped craft drift slowly along at a very low height over the Nullarbor plain in Western Australia. They told only me.
Good Look at Odd Situations Lacking Adequate Explanations
Robert Jean Redfern has created a detailed list of architectural wonders that remain unexplained, either in part or as a whole. I found some "new" (to me) information in this short (92 page) book that I feel that I need to look up. However, I do agree with the author's contention that (so far) adequate explanations continue to elude us...as far as context, technology and purpose.
Any 92 page book, by it's nature, raises more questions than answers. Redfern does a good job of explaining some current theories of these relics.
It is a very informative and interesting book. It is really amazing how many things we can not explain oe replicate. I recommend this book to anybody that want to learn and realize that science can only go so far trying to explain reality, in this case those constructions.
This book is a fair summary of the megalithic and ancient engineering marvels. It does not provide much details. But the Official Ancient Alien book instead.
The book looks at the several ancient structures which tries to analyze the known theories and the reason behind the construction. The structures are:
1. The Great Pyramid of Giza 2. Stonehenge 3. Goseck Henge 4. Derinkuyu Underground city 5. Pumapunku 6. Gobekli Tepe 7. Nan Madol 8. Hypogeum of Hal-Saflieni 9. Coral Castle 10.Russian Megalithic Stones and the final chapter is about the Conclusion
The Author Robert Redfern starts with an inquiry of who really built structures like the great pyramid of Giza, Stonehenge, the underground city of Derinkuyu, the mysterious Pumapunku, the Gobekli Tepe, and the underground Greek temple called Hypogeum of Hal-Saflieni?
In each chapter the author gives great details with separate sub headings for structural features, famous theories of how the structure was built and for what purpose it was built.
I came to know the strange facts that the mortar used to build the pyramid has been analyzed and found out that it consists of known chemicals but their chemical composition is unable to be reproduced.
For the Stonehenge, it was built using two type of stones, Sarsen and a type of volcanic rock blue stones. Stonehenge was built before the pyramids in Giza. And the German Stonehenge is much older than the England Stonehenge by 1000 years!
An astonishing feature I came to know is that structure in Gobekli Tepe carbon dating traces the site to be built around 10,000 BC and even before the knowledge of pottery.
The author concludes that he has given only comprehensive list, he also records that this will give us a glimpse of how the ancient building technology has disappeared with the builders.
I personally cannot get enough of the Ancient Aliens information. Amazing amount of question out there on this subject. This book scratched the surface of some pretty interesting places. However, the book left me wanting more, a deeper dive, and more ideas about the creation of this amazing places. This book is great to get you started thinking about what happened so many years ago and how the possible connection with aliens shaped our world.
