This is book two of the Vengeance Duet, which completes the series. It's categorized as romantic suspense, which include darker themes. Due to circumstances and content, this book should not be read by those under the age of 18.
TRUTH.
The players have been identified and the plan is in formation.
Connotation. Inference. Postulate.
To ensure Casey’s safety and avenge his sister’s death, Max Taylor continues his vow for vengeance against the men who threaten harm to those he loves.
Trueness. Verity. Honesty.
His life within the Creed MC compound is darkening as each day passes. Until now, he’s been left without word from those who swore their allegiance to his cause.
Veracity. Credibility. Authenticity.
As the bonds of brotherhood are further tested, Max is soon forced to accept what should ultimately set him free.
What an epic conclusion to DIRTY (Vengeance Duet, #1). A.C. Bextor really out did herself in this five star read. She'll leave you hanging off the edge of your seat, begging and pleading for the little girl's sake! Casey....Casey, imagine knowing where eleven year old Casey is. She's in danger, from those who would do her harm or perverted creepers trading human flesh at an auction. You can see the frightened child, hell for that matter you've even spoken to her. But to remove little Casey means certain death! Two worlds are about to collided a war is coming and she's stuck in the middle of Satan's Creed MC.
So no doubt that I loved book one and I think I started this one around midnight and was up till about 3am, desperately in need of the conclusion to this series.
In the final book, we pick up just where we left off. Max and Emma had found their way to one another, Max is closer to getting to the truth of what happened to his sister and the move to get Casey out NEEDS to happen quickly before it’s too late.
With radio silence, Max is left having to make some choices, unsure of what the plan is – but knowing that his crew is bound to blow shit up! As we come to the conclusion of the Vengeance Duet, we get the answers that we needed – the closure to the story that was deserved and I think this series is easily one of my favorite MC themed stories.
This was one of those books that as soon as I finished it, I had to tell friends to read it. Finding this author was a complete surprise and in the end such a blessing! I think Max is easily in the top twenty-five of heroes. I can’t wait to get started on her other titles after finishing these two.
+++5 Stars+++ I loved the first book. The characters and the story were unique. This book tugged at my heartstrings. The relationship between little Casey and Max was awe worthy. The fight for Casey's salvation continues in this book. Max is determined to save her and bring her back to Emma. Meanwhile, his relationship with Em keeps going strong. But the danger around them doesn't let them be happy; not until Casey is away from the MC and far away from Viktor. The plot thickens when secrets are unveiled and the truth is revealed. Will Max be able to keep Casey and Emma safe? And at what cost? The writing was captivating. The author created a very unique and captivating tale. This is not your usual MC/captivity read. I absolutely loved Max. I said it in my review of book 1 that I loved him and in this I adored him. The ending had me in tears. Do not miss this gem. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Usually I curse my insomnia, but in this case it allowed me to finish a book in one setting without the human garbage disposals vying for my attention or food. “Dirty” was the predecessor to “Truth” and whereas the first book held the story setting and build up, “Truth” had the execution. I could not have fallen asleep even if I had tried – there was way too much happening for me to put the book down. Once again Ms. Bextor has written flawlessly from the character’s voices to the scene progressions. I can always immerse myself in her writing. I never have to guess where she is taking me on her journey because she writes with such fluidity that I can forget about everything else and just follow her words. I can’t find that in all books, but I can find that in all Ms. Bextor’s books.
Casey is 11-years-old and being held behind locked doors at Creed, the local motorcycle club. Her mother is a drug addict and really couldn’t give a care as to how Casey is faring. She and Hangar are too busy getting high to notice. Hangar gives me the creeps…he is the club vice president, a junkie and a mean junkie at that. I wouldn’t trust him even if I could see him. He just has an evil way about him and he is evil to the core. He is very brutal with his physical force. Basically Hangar scares me and can’t be trusted.
Max is a very good guy. He is dating Casey’s aunt, Em, and he has worked his way into his former club’s good graces to keep his eye on Casey and to try to get her out of there. There are secrets abounding at the clubhouse. Why is Casey being held and why are there other women being held? It’s very stressful for Max to play the club knowing that once his game is figured out he will have to face the consequences of betrayal.
“I hate this,” I admit quietly, running my hand through the back of my hair in frustration. “Every f*ckin’ minute of every g*dd*amn day. I hate it.”
Max has promised to get to the bottom of Casey’s captivity and he will do whatever it takes to free her. He loves Em and wants to resolve this issue so that they focus on being a family together. His quest for answers has overtaken his life and everything else around him seems to be on hold. He once left the life of the MC and here he is back again seeing vile things that he does not want to be part of. He will do anything to free Casey.
I’m convinced I won’t find the peace I struggle so badly to gain until she’s free.
With the help from his friends that like to “blow sh*t up”, Max is getting closer to finding the truth behind Casey’s captivity and what it means for her. Max is playing a dangerous game of conning two sides. If caught he will be of no help to Casey, and even Em’s life can be used to draw him out of his game plan. Plus there’s the added mystery of what happened to his sister, Marie, that is being used to play him. We have to hope Max can keep his game face because there are too many innocent lives on the line counting on his well-played deception to free them. It’s all or nothing…
“This is the truth, my friend. It’s what you said you were after all along. But knowing the truth, as you’re about to, will change how you see your life and how you’ve come to accept it. You can’t go back to being who you were once you know.”
I was fortunate enough to be a beta reader for this terrific author for this series and as much as I loved the first book in this series...this one just didn't quite play out the way "I" would have liked. Now the author knows my feelings on a couple of "personal issues" I had with parts of the storyline, lol, that for me left me a bit disappointed but again these issues are just my own personal feelings but I can't discard how I felt.
Am I still a huge fan of A.C. Bextor, hell yes!!!! Will I continue reading her work in the future, oh hell yes!!!!! Listen this series was very good and some may not have any of the issues I encountered with parts of the storyline and that's why you should definitely give it a go! I am honest to a fault with my feelings in which she knows that too, hehehehe, but don't let that sway your decision. This author and all of her books are so worth the read:)
A.C. Bextor, congrats and I still love you and will look forward to everything you write in the future:)
Un muy buen libro, mucho mejor que el primero tengo que decir, tiene mucha más trama y el desarrollo aunque lenta y un poco confusa es buena, creo que la autora tuvo buenas ideas pero no las desarrolló todas y en eso le faltó.
I was given an advanced copy of this book for an honest review, and I just have to simply say amazing. I was kept so engrossed by the characters and the plot of this story that I couldn't put it down once I started. I was so impressed with Max and the man that he is, part of me did wonder if Casey would turn out to be his, but the way it turned out makes for a better story. The author takes us through so many deminsions of these characters lives and I have to admit that I hope there will be more books to follow, it would be great to find out what happens to some of the other characters in the book.
The first book in this duet ended on a cliffhanger...and Dirty was a nasty, vile, upsetting story of men who do unbelievably horrible acts to women and the innocents in general. I was so glad that we were given a very satisfying conclusion to the series and that even though it was very violent, very upsetting and intense, it showed how good some men can really be and expose the real monsters that others hide behind with a mask of false kindness. Good stories for those who can handle the darkness and ugliness without flinching.
**** 4 **** "a family of disgusting human beings and their downfall" stars
I was given an advanced copy of this book for my honest review. I was up and down with emotions in reading. I really thought Casey would end up being Max's child and was surprised that wasn't the case. I have mixed feelings about Max being the one to finish Haggar off. I understand he was avenging Marie's death and can completely understand the rage he had. On the other hand I hate that he took another man's life because I think of him as one of the good guys that would never kill a man tied up. It's a great book with a lot of emotion and surprises.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Wow. What a great story. Loved the epilogue. Even though the "couple" don't actually spend a lot of time together, they give each other exactly what they need. And Casey, sweet Casey. I actually wish this book had pic so I could "see" her sketches. This definitely isn't a standalone, you must read Dirty first, but hey both books are so worth it!.
Bravo, wonderfully disturbing story. What an ending. Through all the dirty things in her small confined world, Cassie's bright light could not be put out. And now the lives of the main characters will be awesome!
Un desarrollo de la segunda parte muy emocionante, desvelando muchas verdades. Con mucho sufrimiento cuando no se veía luz al final del túnel pero teniendo esperanza siempre. Tiene muchas sorpresas este segundo libro.
What would you do to save the ones you love? When family means everything to you! Would you make the ultimate sacrifice, take it to the point of no return? Martyr your very soul! In A. C. Bextor’s continuation of her first book Dirty in the Vengeance Duet series, she unveiled a world of horrific cruelty, human trafficking and the hidden domain of the real 100% MC that left her readers gasping. From the beginning of book two, Truth the story unfolds with even more twist added to the plot. You will not want to miss one word in this remarkable journey of Max and Emilyn as they search for a way to find Truth and redemption!
Max knew from the start that Emma was the one, but he also felt that she was too good for him. Emotions and instincts he had no idea were a part of the man he really is, kicked in when he was faced not only with Emilyn but also the child held captive, Casey. A connection was formed that called to him to take whatever steps that were needed to rescue her and keep her safe. Max finds himself walking a dangerous precipice, one that could cost him his very life. His vow to avenge his sister’s murder is a specter that refuses to release him and haunts his dreams as he pursues a way to save Casey and keep Emma safe.
The majority of this romantic suspense novel is told from Max’s POV and gives insight into the essence of this extraordinary character while telling of his unbelievable search and rescue mission. Ms. Bextor has created a hero in this book, that you will find hard to forget and wish it was possible to meet him in the real world! Max is everything a true alpha male should be. He is protective, caring and strong while still gentle as he puts those he loves above everything else. The realism and exposure of the horrors of human trafficking and corruption by those involved by this multi-talented author is so uniquely presented, that it is like looking through a window into that world! Once again A.C. Bextor spins a web of romantic intrigue and happily ever after that you will want to make a part of your must read list!
***Received an ARC of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review***
We pick up in Truth where Dirty left off. Max has his nose in the ins and outs of the Creed MC. Hanger (VP of Creed MC) is still spewing crazy. Viktor the Russian has ties with Creed. Ties of business and ties to the past. Viktor trust Max enough to want Max to work for him. By Max agreeing to work for Viktor, he is promised to be given the information he needs to find his sister's (Marie) murderer. The plans for the rescue of Casey are set. Max is unaware of what exactly the plans Aimes and Low have in mind. But be sure "they are gonna blow some sh.. up". While Max waits for Aimes and Low to give him the heads up we read on and get more involved with the characters. Cilas remains quiet, but ever the strong presence at the Creed compound. Looking after Viktor's girls (the one's he plans on selling or as he likes to justify it...saving). Cilas is especially protective of Casey and Anna. Anna is special to Viktor and has been with him for a long time. But no matter what Viktor feels for Anna, she is his property. The story builds itself with suspense. AC titling this book Truth is just that, Truth. We find answers to the questions that we are given in Dirty. As we get the truth we are feeling many things. Some of the truths were very painful to learn. Other truths had me smiling to myself and saying, "I thought so." Even had me shedding a few tears at times. I want to comment also on my take on how AC Bextor handled this book and her audience. I hope I am not alone in this acknowledgment. She gave her readers more than just the cookie cutter MC program. Alpha guy, MC, girl, sexual tension, misunderstanding, sex, sex, sex. She chanced that her followers wanted more out of her MC story. She gave it a sensitive and dark subject. She handled it well. She gave us characters that were more than just filler for the pages. They had reasons for being in the story. Em and Max spent a lot of this book apart. And still I didn't feel like their relationship suffered in the story. Many of the characters in this book are interesting enough to have a story of their own. These are developed characters. Says a lot about AC's writing.
This was book two in The Vengeance Duet Series. I read the first book Dirty and right after I dove into Truth. Once again there are some dark situations in the book Hanger the VP has some major mental issues and what he does is not one of a Sane Man.
Max Taylor finds his way into Satans Creed for two reason. To find out who killed his sister Marie and to save Casey who is the niece of the women he loves, Emma.
This book is a full of emotion. Love, hate, fear it has it all. Trying to gain the trust of Hoss the President of the Club with the promise of being told who killed his sister Marie. Then there’s Viktor, he is a powerful man from Russia who has ties with Creed using them to traffic women and children. He says he is helping them find a better life while making money doing it. Casey is one of those children and Max’s main mission is to get her out of there and into the arms of Emma.
Emma went to the police yelling and screaming of how Creed had her niece but felt she got nowhere. Some of those cops were on Creeds payroll but little did she know she did get the attention of law enforcement and things were put into motion. When the time comes for action all hell breaks loose. Max’s buddies coming up with a wild and crazy plan not knowing all that was going down Max just had to go with what little they told him. Explosions went off everywhere he had to get Casey and the other women safe. In the end you find there are people on the inside that were not what they seemed. The Truth’s came out and in the end and Max did find out who his sisters killer he was able to finally put his sisters sole to rest.
The book is action packed keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next Max is Alpha male in every way. He is very protective of the ones he loves family is everything to him. Casey finally gets the family she so deserves. She went through so much to get there but she did. I give this book 5 stars
To say that I loved the first book, Dirty, is pretty much understatement. There are no words to describe my ultra-love for Em and Max. Truth picks right up where Dirty left us and throws us into a trial by fire for the second half the two book series.
First off, Holy twist and turns, batman!!! I didn’t even see half the plot twist coming! I can’t even accurately describe how the plots twists messed with my head. It was gut wrenchingly dark yet and at times nearly enough that my stomach churned. There so many bad people in poor little Casey’s world and their self-justified actions left me screaming for Max to take her then instead of waiting. A sweet little girl like that should never be faced with that kind of life or horrors. Hangar’s mental hang-ups make me want to puke just thinking about the sick SOB. Uggghhhhhh.
I know some of you may be wondering about the ending and whether or not, Max succeeds in his mission, but I can’t tell you that! The ending is a bit unexpected, but it fits with the mystery to this story. I will say that most of the questions I had were answered and I learned to deal with some of the answers that I didn’t exactly like. Not everyone’s life can be rainbows and glitter, right?
Anyways… back to the review…
To sum up this book and this series, the only world I could think of that would be appropriate is that it is f-ing brilliant. I really wanted to use the right word, but I didn’t want to get the old heave-hoe from Amazon upon posting the review. Truth is deliciously dark and satisfies every part of a dark MC read that I could have desired. I am sad to see these characters go, but honestly, I don’t know if I could survive another torturous book. This book is definitely a call for your tissues stock pile!!
After reading book one, Dirty, and loving it, I could hardly wait until this book was released. From the moment I started it, I couldn't put it down!
We pick up where book one ended with Max trying to save Casey from the Creed MC and bring her back to Emma. Even though Emma was her aunt, you could feel the motherly love she had for Casey and how much she wanted her freed from the club. I love Max and Emma's relationship and there were definitely sparks flying between them and they were oh so HOT!!
As for Creed MC, what a bunch of seriously demented men. So many times during this book, I just wanted to reach into the book and strangle them myself. Hangar is totally insane and some scenes were disgusting but it was right up my alley so I loved it!! I love books that are twisted, where the story seems unbelievable but I'm drawn into them even more and Truth just blew me away at times.
Max had a lot of support between Tommy, Low, and Aimes. I loved those guys! I love how he situated himself into the club and got closer to Viktor who was behind all of the drama in the story. Viktor was one sick man but you could really feel he had feelings for Anna. Anna was also a big part of the story and I liked her but yet I didn’t.
Casey was so pitiful being held by the MC and if it weren't for Max and Cilas keeping watch over her, she would have been a lot worse off than she was. Cilas is one mysterious man who you could tell was very protective of Casey and that's what she needed. Oh, I loved Cilas and his character was amazing! So many truths were revealed, many I was definitely not expecting but I just loved it! If you want a book with twists and turns with a few psychos thrown into the mix, you need to read this series.

TRUTH Dirty was a great book, But Truth is incredible!! Loved this book and it was the perfect ending to a beautiful story. When I began reading Truth, I figured I was going on a journey of twists and turns because “come on” that’s just how AC Bextor writes such incredible books. What I didn’t know was that I would be on the edge of my seat holding my breath for most of that ride. Max and Em are still trying to rescue Casey, and the turn of events are so extreme, attempting to figure who Max can trust and who is going to stab him in the back. Who are the good guys and who is going for the jugular? I loved the suspense in this story it always had me guessing, which I LOVED by the way! The dynamics of each character in this story are what will truly blow you away; it did for me anyway! Another book so flawlessly written, Kudos are for you AC, with another Excellent story ** I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review** *Reviewer for Hellmouth’s Bookblog & Reviews*
I'll start my review with the required I received an ARC for an honest review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and if I could there would be more.
This book was great, with that being said it will tear out yout heart. Between Max, Em, and Casey every page takes you on a frustrating emotional roller coasters that will having you not able to stop reading until the book is complete. I will tell you without a doubt to read DIRTY prior to TRUTH it's an absolute must to get the true story of every aspect of this very emotional story. The story is something that I believe does happen that not everyone including me wanted to think about the loss or sale of another human being and that tore at me. Then you think about the heart of people trying so hard to save another's life and feeling completely helpless when they can't do anything to fix it immediately. I loved how real AC Bextor told this story and how she was able to show true and absolute unconditional love not only between a couple but the loyalty of family. There is so much to this book but I don't give a story away I think every reader should read and experience the emotional ups and downs let yourself cry,, feel frustrated and feel the HEA at the end of the book because the author has managed to take you on a incredible journey that touches you in so many different ways.
This book was very well written and had all the thing a good book should from this readers point of view. Congratulations to AC Bextor on an amazing conclusion to the series.
This book dove deeper into the working of Satan's Creed MC and it was not a pretty place to be. When the VP cannot be controlled and the president does nothing, things are about to get uglier. Max is biding his time waiting for "that moment" when he can put this "mission" to rest. During this down town time truths that are unexpected come out and he has to deal with all this new information. He is playing both sides, the MC and Viktor, and his position is precarious at best.
Meanwhile Casey is attempting to draw upon strength she never knew she had while locked away only to paraded for nasty men to look at. She is a truly amazing little girl who has had to see and experience things not meant for an 11 year old. To see the world through eyes that cannot quite comprehend what is happening is enlightening and sad.
This book, for me anyway, read slower than the last. There was a lot of information that needed to be doled out and the suspense of what was to come killed me. I still loved our main characters and it always nice to see the big bad biker get put into his place by a little spitfire. Casey had my heart and it bled for her. There are also not many side characters that were on the "good" side but those that were, I can hope we hear from them again in the future, especially the tall silent brooding one.
In this second book of the Creed MC series, we once again find Emma and Max trying to rescue Casey from the clutches of Viktor. Viktor has Max followed one night and Max messes up Viktor's man. What happens when this is the case? What is going on with his friends that are supposed to be trying to help rescue Casey? What happens when Viktor tells Hoss he wants a meet with Max? Max is invited to play poker with the club after his meet with Viktor. Max tells Viktor he needs some time to think about a proposition that Viktor makes. Will he accept or decline? He plays poker and beats Hangar. This really angers Hangar. What happens after Max goes back to where the girls are being held to give Casey a gift from Aunt Emma, with Viktor's consent of course? What happens when Emma tells Max's mom about what is going on to rescue her niece is short of miraculous. You need to read to find out what happens, if Max and his friends can rescue Casey or not. Read to see what happens with Emma and Max, what happens to Dee Dee, and what if anything happens with Max and Viktor. Truly is a very interesting read!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M.Brennan.
***I received this book as an ARC for an honest review*** Amazing follow up and that is the Truth!! So many emotions run though this book. Max and Em's fight for Casey is inspiring. This isn't your fairytale story. Heartache, violence, sadness & happiness all play a part to this story. Finally having Em for himself, Max knows what love is and would do anything for her. His love for his little monkey is proof that he is the true hero in this story. The conditions that we have to visualize this poor child going though is horrific. Max's only goal is to get her out of there even if it costs him his life. The people that play so many different parts in getting her out gives you hope everyone will be ok. Casey deserves to have them all in her life. Casey finally will get the family and home she has always wanted and dreamed about. Max will get the closure he needs about Marie, and Em will see her niece flourish into the beautiful woman she knows she was meant to be. There are so many questions I still want answered. I know selfish. But I want a book of how Casey is, Cilas, Anna, & Aimes. Just like her other stories, I don't want to say goodbye to any of these characters yet. Thank you Carrie for introducing us to another great book!
Max Taylor thought his involvement with an mc, in the past, would prepare him for what the Satan's Creed MC had hid behind their walls. Nothing could of prepared him for the depravity he finds and the secrets they hold. Max is trying to keep Emmy safe and away from the violence, free Casey , so she can go to her aunt's loving arms, and get the answers he so desperately needs. Balancing that while trying to stay alive. Along with the help from friends he hopes to bring all the injustice to an end. I have been anticipating the release of Truth since I read the last page of Dirty. A.C. Bextor did not let me down. Truth is full of suspense, compassion, and it has enough twist and turns in the storyline that kept me turning those pages non-stop. The way Max balances the good he has with Emmy and the bad he deals with at Satan's Creed MC takes Truth from being just a good read to an exceptional great read. This is a darker mc romance/ suspense and I would warn anyone I recommend to. You have to read Dirty before Truth. Great reading experience. Great job A. C. Bextor.
Please note that this is not a S/A read and I would highly recommend reading Dirty first.
I don't want to reveal too much as this book would be ruined by spoilers but for me this was a great conclusion to this story.
This was a slow building second part but it was perfect for the story. A.C Bextor really planted the seeds for a suspenseful and climactic ending. Each chapter just just increased my anticipation further to find the outcome and I couldn't get through it quick enough.
Truth is full of twists and turns and interesting and original characters.
Great ending an epilogue to make you smile - I'm hoping AC brings us more from some of the other characters as I feel there's a lot of side characters with stories to be told.
I'd happily recommend this series.
I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great ending to a set of books. The story line was amazing, if you thought Dirty was good this will blow your mind. The characters are great just as they were in the previous book. Max is set on getting Casey out of Viktors "possession". Emilyn will do whatever it takes to get her niece home with her and Max. Casey becomes closer to Max and finds peace with being in his presence. All of that combined puts this book in the hard to put down category. The roller coaster of emotions and suspense that are in this book is what made this book stand out more to me then Dirty did. Don't get me wrong I loved Dirty, but Truth completes this set of books and makes this story even more amazing. AC put so much story into this book, this makes it a must have to anyones library.
Wow!! Absolutely loved this book! Truth is confusing, and not confusing as in you don't know what's going on but more like the characters you made your mind up about in dirty, you see them in a new light in Truth. In all honestly after reading Dirty I did wonder how it could lead to a positive ending but this one, well It's got twists, turns and one hell of a happy ending, just wish it didn't have to end so soon but saying that there are certain characters I will be ever hopeful we'll see in future works, I can hope so anyway! Definitely worth reading but I will advise putting aside a few hours to do so, as you will be unable to put it down which could lead to grumpy men and hungry children.....or just do what I did, feed them cake for tea and read just one more chapter........
Received an ARC for an honest review! Max and Emma are continuing to work on saving Casey from the world she is living in. There are so many twists and turns in this read it leaves you wondering "wait, what just happened" and that is a great thing. Truth keeps you on a roller coaster ride all the way up until the end. AC Bextor developed the characters well in Dirty and you think you know but wow there are surprises around each corner. Max and Emma are still hot for each other. They are quite the power couple. During this series we meet some characters that I hope we get to see more of in the future. I love the suspense and mystery in this read. Will Max and Emma be able to save Casey? Will Max get his vengeance? Find out by reading Truth!
I loved book 1 Dirty and book 2 Truth didn’t disappoint! AC Bextor writes great stories with strong characters!
This book proceeds with the infiltration of Max in Satan’s Creed MC. His purpose is to safe little 11 year old Casey from the hands of human trafficker Viktor. Casey is the niece of his girlfriend Emilyn and has been kept in the MC since she was born. Max also gets to find out
Lots of suspense and tears later I was glad they all got their HEA! Now I would love to read a book about Anna. She deserves a HEA too
