A powerful Contemporary Romance. Here is the first book in the ‘Thrill’ Series by Lucia Jordan, written in her signature style of high passion and emotion. "Even beneath that tailored suit that bespoke wealth and privilege, Brandon Maxwell’s dark desires couldn't be concealed." Hannah Wilson is having a bad day. Her cruel boss, Craig Allen, has just trashed the presentation that she’s been slaving over. This time she’s had enough. She’s going to tear up the presentation, march back inside, and quit. She’s sick of controlling, pushy men wreaking havoc in her life. So when a mysterious stranger intervenes to ask if she’s OK, Hannah is in no mood to entertain his enquiry. She just wants to be left alone. But when she discovers that this mysterious stranger is none other than her next big client, and just looking at him sets her lust aflame, she starts to realize that she may be in over her head. Just was just ok for me...not what I was expecting...Even for a quickie read, basically just a prelude to the next book... Some hot sex scenes though...
What a great short read and damn, there's some sexiness in it!
I liked the storyline going on for Hannah and Brandon but I just wished there was more. That ending annoyed me because seriously Brandon? I hate obsessive and ignorant people lol but apart from that I enjoyed reading this. I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue their story but I'll give it a go.
This was my first read from this author and I'll definitely be trying another book.
Guilty Pleasures. I admit I picked up a handful of these shorts from this author for no purpose other than indulging a bit. In this particular story, we get the story of Hannah and Brandon.
I read this maybe 24 hours ago and seriously can’t remember much about it. It’s short. And it’s fast paced. It isn’t horrible by all means, but this is not a story that contains depth or character development. Honestly, that was not what I was seeking out when I started this.
But I am not sure if there was enough there to make me want to read the rest of the books in this series.
Just finished reading Thrilled and frankly I didn't have much hope for it considering it was a freebie. But boy was I surprised! I really liked it. I was glad I didn't read any of the other reviews cos that would have pushed this back to my TBRL list. I really liked Hannah and Loved Brandon Maxwell. He's definitely up there with Christian Grey!! Hannah is used to an organised pre planned lifestyle. She doesn't like surprises. Brandon see's a beautiful uptight girl in her and lets say he help's to 'loosen her up' in the best possible way.
The story line was enjoyable and had me sucked in until the last page. The best part about it was it didn't waste time getting into the plot. I personally tend to get weary of books that spans over 7hrs with jargons of useless monologues and internal chatter with MC's that eventually makes me skim so this one was perfect for me.
I can't wait to check out what happens with Hannah and Brandon & look forward to reading more from Lucia Jordan!
I received this for free through my Amazon Kindle. The old "you get what you pay for" comes to mind when it comes to this book. But, here's a quick pro/con for those of you that are trying to decide if this is a book you want to read.
Main characters: Brandon and Hannah
Negative Aspects: The storyline is a cliche, as are a lot of the books that are in this genre, especially those that are being given away for free by Amazon. But, keep in mind that if you like an original story this is not the one for you. Everything was overworked, there was corny dialogue that no real human would ever utter, the "plot" was predictable, there is absolutely no character development of any kind (or any reason to care about the characters), the pair has no significant connection that would merit a one night stand let alone any relationship, the sex/romance itself is so forced it comes off as someone just wanting to write sexually explicit scenes that have no real point, and as always--and most frustrating for me--the female lead is spineless, weak, and couldn't find her way out of a wet paper bag if she tried. But I bet if a man showed up to save her, she'd do a lot better.
Positives: It is free, so if you want something for free this is indeed free. The sex scenes may be your cup of tea, even if they are forced/cliche if you're in the right mood. This book is a little bit better than some of the other things in the genre (hence the 2 stars instead of 1 star). Also, it seems like Lucia Jordan could potentially figure out how to write a story--she's an author I might give a second chance and read a longer, not-free book from.
I get it's a 32 page book but it moved really fast...no attachment to characters. Didn't even describe how they looked. Also pretty cheesy dominant/sub relationship... Ending also left a lot to be desired, y not write a couple hundred page book at least instead of 4 short stories...
In the beginning you found a girl with some spunk and then in three pages she native and virginal . Seem like a knock off. However, it flies by and you have to question if you read all the pages . The scene are drawn out but the development of these relationship are rushed. It's like everything happen in one day and he's is her heroin and she so addicted . I really wish there was more but there not there and there no explanation on anything . No development of feeling either. They just love each other because the writer said so.
Enough is enough. That's the way she felt about her job. Doing her best but it never being enough. Until she captures the attention of Brandon. He's a Dom and he wants her. She never done the things that he did to her before. They start spending all their free time together until he Mets her roommate. A guy she use to date
True to form, women who work in a man's world has to keep fighting for the right to be there. It's always an eye opener when you find someone who brings out your inner freak. But men like Brandon seem to find minor things to us to be betrayal to them. Great story look forward to the rest of the series
FRiST 0FF i CH00SE THiS RATE BECAUSE THiS FRiST B00K HAS ME 0N MY T0ES... FR0M THE VERY START Y0U CAN FEEL HANNAH'S PAiN AND BRAND0N'S LUST F0R HER. MS. LUCiA J0RDAN USES GREAT VERBALLY iMAGERY. When the alluring Brandon walks up to Hannah on the sidewalk outside of her office she gives him a piece of her mind only to find out that she is the big client to which she must present to today. Just her luck. But he did manage to get her pain of a supervisor to swallow his tongue so maybe he wasn't all that bad. We'll just have to wait and see though.
This is one of those lovely books that is all sex and fun and games and ends on a cliff hanger. Personally I do not suggest these books as its like the author just stops at the random part of a book and is like here you go have this in an effort to sell more books. But to each their own. Jump in at your own risk.
I’m kind of being generous with the third star when I want to give it two. I can understand a book being a quick read and wanting to get to the good stuff but I felt like it was too rushed. There just could’ve been more build up between the two MCs. I know there’s a few other books after this but I definitely don’t like how it ended… a cliffhanger I can deal with a little lol 😂, but for it to not really do that frustrates me.
She was furious at her supervisor for being a bully. While in rage Brandon showed up to calm her, a complete stranger. She went back to her office but only to be even more surprised to see him in front of her desk. Her life was about to change and she didn't even realize it.
This was free on Kindle and the expression is "you get what you paid for". I get that its free and suppose to be a quick erotic read but it was not even all that thrilling like the title would suggest. Don't waste your time no matter how brief a read
Brandon & Hannah are quite hot together. It is a short scene. I don't like the way Brandon behaved at the end. But that is why they want you to purchase the next book. Not into buying at the moment. Want a hot scene read the short
