And I'm a mess. A happy, excited, nervous, proud, screaming from the rooftops that I've completed a series mess. I had no idea what I'd be like on this day, with Molly + Dev's story coming to an end, but I have to say that I feel good. I believe I have done my absolute best in telling their story and bringing it to a place that not only they, but I, can walk away feeling whole. And though it's the last book in the series the world of Terra and its people will forever be pumping through my heart and in my mind. I hope they will for you too❤️. Thank you for taking this journey with me!

HAPPY RELEASE DAY, THE DESTINED *throws sparkles*

Let me start off by saying this is how you write an epic finale! E J Mellow did a perfect job blending suspense, romance, badassery & heartbreak in one book that will lead up to an amazing end. I have so much love for this series that I don't know how to express them by just writing this. Everything in The Destined are what I didn't know I really need in my life to be able to feel the sense of closure for this wonderful trilogy. I'm so invested in it's story & characters that I often wonder how I will say goodbye to them when I flip the last page of this book. Worry not, E J Mellow did a marvellous job including everything about everyone that will make you feel such deep loved when you finish with it.

What else, E J Mellow writing is super engaging & so fun to read. Her words & paragraphs will make you believe that you're the one in the story with all the characters— facing troubles while kicking villains butts— that you didn't want to stop for even a second to do anything else. Trust me when I said I finished a 421 pages book in 3 days because it's saying something about how this book keep my interests going & never bored me for a millisecond. Don't get me start on the plenty beautifully written quotes that I can relate to in some way mostly about love, life & lost. Everything in this book make me realise that I can achieve what I really want in life when I put my mind & effort into it.

❝There's a piece of me that's starting to hate myself. For how can my purpose on this planet be any more important than anyone else's.❞ — Molly Spero.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank E J Mellow for writing such an awesome story that will leave a mark on your soul & will make you always wonder for the rest of your life. Her creative imaginations know no bound & it exceeded this realm of imaginative world to compare with the one she created herself. I'm so proud of her accomplishments on this trilogy & hoping for more greatness from her in the near future. This is just a short review to show my support on the release day of the last book in The Dreamland Series. If you enjoy fantasy with a smidge of sci-fi, romance, humour & action packed characters, this series is definitely for you to devour whole-heartedly.

A million thank yous again to E J Mellow for such brilliant stroy-telling & for granting me the opportunity to experience this magnificent world. I dare say this is in MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE SERIES EVER! In addition, I will upload my full-spoilers BookTalk on my booktube channel this Wednesday & to those who have read this book, you are welcome to watch & discuss it with me. Let's fangirl all the feels together!!

"How ironic to find oneself in one's enemy."
Oh. My. God. This was one of my most anticipated releases for this year and even though I already knew I was going to love it, I was not ready for how much it would cost me. I fell in love with this world since the very first book but this last installment managed to multiply my feelings for it time and time again. I can't wrap my head around how much angst and fulfillment this book held between its pages. One second it had me dreading the next page, then it had me cheering so hard I almost fell off my bed, until I was back in a fetal position, crying my eyes out from all the devastation being thrown at me.
Molly completely blew me away in this book. She's a character I have always deeply admired but this book unearthed another side of her that I didn't know I was yearning to witness until it happened. The respect I have for her now is even more insane than it already was.
And since we are naming characters, we can't forget about Dev!! The blue eyed hunk that drove me insane in every single book has officially sparked a deeper passion in me than ever before. I deeply enjoyed crawling in his head with those beautiful letter snippets we got at the start of some chapters. He made my heart ache and eyes tear up with all his beautiful sentiments. So much so that I grew insanely jealous of Molly as I read them; I need a guy to write me words like those *cue in more tears*.
Now, I can't finish writing this review without dedicating a spot to my other two favorite men in this series, Rae and Hector!!! Those two were as spectacular as any characters could get. Even though they're considered 'side characters', they didn't let themselves be overshadowed by anyone. I have such a deep affection for them that I feel it is borderline motherly. I spent most of the book scared out of my mind for all of these wonderful characters. Mellow didn't hold any punches and I felt them down to the core. The plot just kept getting crazier and crazier until I felt like my heart would turn into mush from being tossed around in my chest so much. I'm honestly scared to read more from Mellow now. I really thought she was a nice person but I may have to rethink that opinion after she destroyed me like this...
6/5 stars!

A book series so ineffably well written should be illicit

If writing a review for the first two books in The Dreamland series was hard, just imagine how freaking impossible it is for me now. From the moment when I said my goodbyes to Dev and Molly at the end of The Divide until the moment I got an e-ARC of The Destined on my kindle three weeks ago, I couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen in the final novel. I’ve made up so many scenarios in my head, you wouldn’t even believe it. And all of that for nothing. Because once again, E.J Mellow has marvellously succeeded to exceed my expectations.

This amazing woman has a curious way of discombobulating me with her words and out of this world characters, who did nothing but amaze me again with their powerful personalities. I am telling you, she is nefarious (in the best way possible, though). To be honest, I cannot wait to read and love her upcoming books, simply because E.J. is one of those authors that deserve to be immortal just to continue writing mind-blowing novels for their readers. I know, I know, I sound a little bit Mellow obsessed and I am proud to say that I am not denying anything.

There are a million reasons to fall in love with this book and I will try my best to mention a few of the vital ones, hopefully I won’t end up blabbering too much.

The writing style– Until a few years ago, I did not pay too much attention to an author’s writing style, probably because I was younger and thought that every book I read was good and deserved 5 stars. Well, now I can say that I’ve come to appreciate and even admire certain authors, mainly because of the unique way they write. The word choice, the sentence fluency, the vivid images that play in our heads whenever we read something beautifully described, everything contributes to the whole reading experience. Undoubtedly, E.J. masters this art like no other.

The love story– Ok guys, let’s put the cards on the table and acknowledge the fact that Dev and Molly’s love story is one of the main reasons why we all praise this series. If you ask me, I would describe their relationship as the very definition of ‘souls mates’, because no matter what difficulties they had to go through, their love transcended time. And to have my own Aaron moment, I can even say that I am elated they suffered so many atrocities, just to become a whole in the end. What is more, I couldn’t help but internally fangirl at every alone moment these two lovebirds had together. I’ve been eager to read/devour them since my fragile heart has gotten broken at the end of the second novel. Needless to say, the swoon-worthy letters between Molly and Dev were a bonus, just another excuse to officially crown them as the hottest couple ever.

“I love you,” she said. “I love you so much.” In a flash he was above her again, touching the new sunbaked dusting of freckles across her nose and cheeks, letting their bodies glide over each other.
“Love doesn’t do justice to what I feel for you,” he said gruffly, kissing her again. “You are everywhere in me, taking up all the spaces in between. You consume me, Molly Spero.”
They each took pieces of the other that night and gently fused them back together, so in the end there wasn’t him and her, only them.

The bromance– Yes, you read that well, the bromance (between Dev and Rae) deserves to be mentioned on this list. Even though they only had a few moments at the beginning of the book, you could quickly realize how strong their relationship was. Rae’s sacrifice was merely a demonstration of how far would he go for his brother, for Dev.

Rae studied Dev for a long while, his golden eyes shining with his own intense feelings . “Nihil familiā carius,” he said and extended his hand.
“Nihil familiā carius,” Dev returned, and the two stood there, letting the words flow through each other.

Aaron and his Joker like behaviour– You must agree with me when I say that this particular character was an absolute madman and even a little bit seductive in a very strange way. E.J. created the perfect villain, a pure source of evil and sorrow, who got exactly what he deserved in the end. Shivers went down my spine whenever he performed one of his savage acts and when he abducted Molly and tortured her to death I wished from the bottom of my heart to become a character in the book and end his miserably life. I can easily imagine Jared Leto playing his role in a movie, because if there is a fantasy series that deserves to be picked out for the big screen, it would be The Dreamland series.

Hector- This character alone represents a reason enough to love ''The Destined''. If you ever thought that Hector's presence in the books wasn’t very important, you are completely wrong. Let’s just say that besides Molly, he is the surprise element, the key to finally finding peace, after multiple deaths and dreadful battles have left their marks on both worlds, Terra and Earth. He is also the reason why I cried like a baby towards the ending and why I still have some tears in my eyes as I am finishing this paragraph.

'' So I stand silently, unmoving, and soak in the love that Hector now, after so many months, allows me to see. Love for me, for my grandfather, for Terra, and, with his eyes staring behind me, to the girl who watches on.''

For the people who've read ''The Dreamer'' & ''The Divide'', you MUST end what you've already started on a high note. So what are you waiting for to buy this book and love it to death?
For the ones who haven't heard about this series until now or haven't had the chance to start it yet, I am begging you to read it! A book trilogy so astounding is hard to find these days and I promise you, you won't regret it! Now, excuse me while I lock myself in my room and listen to sad music for the rest of the day. Who knows, maybe the excruciating pain of saying goodbye to my favourite characters will go away till tomorrow morning.

“Words, Dev thought, never did the job the speaker wanted them to”

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve had over a day to gather my thoughts and attempt to articulate just how amazing this book was, and I fear that I still can’t find the words to truly do it justice. I can tell you that this book was an emotional journey; an experience for all your senses. Mellow has an incredible way of whisking you away into her dreamworld and making it so you dread the moment you’ll inevitably have to come back to reality.

One of my favorite things was the way every chapter started with a little piece of the letters between Dev and Molly. It was comforting, even when things were at their most chaotic and seemed the darkest, it was a little bit of light and hope that warmed you from the inside out. The writing was lyrical and even quite poetic at times. The way Mellow describes things paint the most vivid, visceral images. My kindle highlighter got quite the workout! There were so many touching and beautiful moments in this story, but there was also darkness, pain, war and loss. This series has been building up to this, and you knew going in that things weren’t going to be all sunshine and roses. I wouldn’t change a minute of it though, like they say, it is always darkest before the dawn. And this dawn is worth the wait.

Being the only Dreamer with the responsibility of saving not just one, but two worlds from destruction, that’s a lot of pressure! I have to say one thing I loved about Molly, even with the weight of worlds on her shoulders, and the immense power she had at her fingertips, she always stayed humble, kind, brave, and just an all around ideal heroine. Dev was swoon-worthy, as per usual. I love the way he supports and cherishes Molly. They truly shine together. As much as I love the two of them, I equally, if not even more, LOVE the friendships in this series. Many of them reached all new heights in The Destined and I couldn’t help being in awe of how amazing these characters are, and how much I have come to adore them.

From start to finish I simultaneously wanted to savor this and make it last and devour every word all at once. It was hard saying goodbye to this world and all it’s inhabitants, but all good things must come to an end. And this end was perfection. So even though I will miss Terra and all my favorite characters, I ultimately feel like I am walking away from this story feeling a divine sense of contentment. I can also definitely see myself doing a complete series reread in the near future, when I am needing a dreamy escape from reality.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

By the stars, I just finished The Destined, and I am so friggin sad that this series is officially over!

This book is perfection. This entire series is perfection.

❝I searched for you in the stars tonight.
But I found none

The Destined had the perfect amount of humor, romance, heartache, and tons of intense, action-packed scenes, and so much more.
You guys, if you haven’t read this series yet, DO IT NOW. You seriously won’t regret it. You will fall in love with the characters and the Terra world.

❝Some will not survive.
Others will.
All will leave a legacy to follow.❞

The Dreamland series is most definitely one of my favorite series of 2016 and I am forever grateful to E.J. Mellow. Thank you for creating Molly, Dev, Rae, Becca, Hector and so many other amazing characters!

**A huge massive thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC.**

I’ll add more to this review closer to the release date. :)

I've been waiting for this book. Once it was released I re-read all the books in the series just to make sure I was 100% on what was going on. This book far exceeded my expectations! An author hasn't captured my attention so much since Harry Potter. The world that she paints for you is graphic and I can picture it as she has written. She paints pictures with her words. The story line is easy to follow and complex at the same time. I have recommended this series to everyone!

*** 2,5 stars***

The ending to this trilogy was... well, meh. I can't say disappointing, because as you can see in my reviews (here and here) that I never thought this was a brilliant epic to begin with.
But still, this was a rather anti-climatic closure, in my opinion.

-- SPOILER ALERT: I can't really review this without giving away any details, so consider yourself warned. --

Other than all the flaws I mentioned in my spoiler-filled rant, I still did enjoy reading this.
Like I've said before, the writing is very light and funny, there's not a lot of plot to be dwelling on, so it's quite an easy read. Yes, some of the expressions and comments are quite ridiculous, Molly is still incredibly dumb at points, and this book (or the Kindle version at least) has loads of typos and editing mistakes. But I still read through them.
When it comes to the characters, this book is not too bad either. I still ship Molly and Rae as bffs. And Becca is still my spirit book character in a lot of moments. Molly can be quite hilarious and badass. I'm not into the romance bit, but Dev and Molly are quite cute. So there are a lot of upsides to the characters that somewhat outweigh the plot faults.

All in all, the Dreamland trilogy is a good laugh and it has an interesting enough concept to get you reading all the three books. The writing can be a bit hilariously bad and the characters are aggravatingly silly, but despite that, definitely worth the read!

I recieved an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not in any way affect my thoughts expressed in this review.

Oh. My. God. It has been two weeks since I finished reading this, and I’m still trying to deal. This book was everything. It was absolutely amazing, fangirl-attack inducing, heartbreakingly cute, and just plain heartbreaking. And, more importantly, it was the end. The end, guys. There will be no more books about Molly and Dev and Terra and all the characters I love so dearly. It is over. I can’t believe it is over. It was a perfect ending to the series, but an ending nonetheless, and that is just sad.

Seriously, she is just so badass and nice and just awesome. And she doesn’t give up. I’ll admit, she was feeling pretty down at the beginning of the book, but even when bad stuff happened, she didn’t give up – not permanently, anyway. I love that about her. But I also love that when bad stuff happened (and they did a lot), she freaked out a little. It made her more relatable.

I cannot tell you enough how much I love, love, love Dev. If there was ever a fictional guy that could make me laugh and cry and swoon like no tomorrow, it is Dev. If Molly doesn’t want him, I would totally take him for myself. Seriously, how do you create a perfect guy like him? And we got some of his perspective in this book, which was just awesome.

And I love the supporting characters just as much, especially Becca and Rae. Becca is such a great best friend to Molly, and she and Rae are so cute together.

The plot is still absolutely amazing. Things start to get a little heated in Terra, with the war against the Metus and Molly not being able to go there in her dreams anymore. The world I fell in love with over The Dreamer and The Destined is falling apart. And things are escalating on Earth, as well.

I love the world of Terra so much, and I will really miss it.

The writing is what dreams are made of (at least for bookworms like me). It feels so real, and authentic and is just good. I mean, Molly is an awesome character all on her own, but Mellow could seriously write about a horrible character, and it wouldn’t really matter because of her way with words. It makes everything feel so much more real. Wherever and however Mellow learned to write, every writer should do it, because her writing makes me want to cry of happiness.

The Destined was a perfect ending to the series. As much as I will miss Terra, this just felt right. If you haven’t started reading this series yet (and if so, what are you doing with your life?), you need to buy it yesterday, because you will not regret it. With great world-building, amazing characters, and writing that is simply to-die-for, it is a perfect example on a good Fantasy-book. Although I will warn you, The Destined is a book you will get stuck in. Once you start reading, you simply cannot put it away.

I want to thank E. J. Mellow for sending me an early copy of her book. I feel very lucky, thank you again.

The Destined is the third and final book in the Dreamland series, by E.J. Mellow. In this book, we start the story where we left it at the end of book number two, and because of that, I can’t tell much about the plot.

But know this: war is imminent. Molly has a lot on her plate, and being the only Dreamer ready for the challenge and able to face it, she is up to face life-threatening experiences that might change the fate of two worlds.

***

*takes a deep breath*

E. J. Mellow is a very gifted and talented author. I think that this is a good way to start this review.

Throughout the whole series she has managed to keep the reader interested and on edge, never knowing where the story might go. And she did it with style and class and a really big talent for story-telling.

The Destined’s story was gripping and intense, and I felt like sitting on a rollercoaster of wild emotions reading through - I feel like I’ve gulped the words, and I know for sure a re-read of the entire series will be on the menu very soon. The setting is, as it was before, incredible, along with the numerous descriptions that go along with it. The Dreamland premises are unlike anything I’ve read before, and I so wish I could take a trip to Terra to meet with all those wonderful characters.

Going through this book, I think I love Rae more than Dev, because he’s just too precious, with his messed up references and his quirkiness. Ms. Mellow managed to give each character their own identity, which makes them all unique, and I especially loved that aspect. All the characters are too precious for my poor heart to express fully. Friendship is another aspect dear to me, and it was written wonderfully - Rae is a golden friend, as well as Becca. I feel like those two, along with Molly and Dev, form a very precious quatuor.

On characters I’ll say only one last thing: a good story relies on plot, yes, but also on a solid hero, and Molly delivers on that note. She is a strong woman, and she truly is a model, in my opinion. I really, really loved the fact that she manages to stay humble and “normal” despite her tremendous power. That was refreshing.

Onto style, now, and I have only praises. One word: beautiful. You can choose all the synonyms, it will also work.

I found this book to be the most accomplished, perhaps, in terms of style and writing skills. Ms. Mellow writes pain beautifully, and Molly’s despair was extremely poetic and touching. And in general, I felt like the whole book was very poetic - not only the painful parts -, and it was as if some words were just singing. Which is, you know, quite rare.

I absolutely loved the setting of the story, and it was probably because I managed to see all the colours and feel all the emotions that E. J. Mellow described with her words. The memories were a clever and original touch that I enjoyed reading. One more thing I loved (but I could go on forever I think) was the recurring theme of stars and space. Loved that.

All in all, you can guess that I loved this book. It’s a little bittersweet to me because it’s the end of the series, but it wrapped up perfectly, on the right note, in the same fashion. I could not have hoped for better, and I’m glad it was done so wonderfully.

I will leave you with a few final thoughts: 1) I want to move to Terra. 2) Rae has really enhanced my expectations on men, so… yeah. 3) I really want to visit the Gallery of Stars. 4) I like Hector and Cato. 5) Alright, I’ll re-read them all now, that’s it.

GO READ THE SERIES!

To this day, I still can't believe that this series has ended. I have waited for this book for almost a year and now, I have read it and loved every single thing about this book. It is everything that I have ever hoped for and it has definitely met my expectations.

Can I just say that I wish the Metus' actually exist and all they bad things and destructions that our people have been doing are caused by them, planting bad dreams. And not because they are doing it based on their opinions and want.

Dev is still such a sweetheart - even more than ever. He is flawless, I tell you! He is also caring, loving, courageous and he would just do anything to fight for the love of his life. He is literally every quality we look for in a man. And Molly, is very lucky to be with him. Though, Dev is fictional, he is still very real to me. It's so great of Molly to ditch her ex. I can't even remember his name anymore because he is irrelevant. At one point, I was sort of rooting for Molly to be with him - her ex but after we have seen the beauty that is Dev inside and out, no one can even come close to win against him.

Molly is such a strong woman and the best of all is that she is not a quitter - I think that is the most important of all. Although she has the responsibility of both worlds on her shoulders and a lot of other challenges and heartaches, she's still standing strong to continue fighting for everyone even though it keeps on getting harder and harder each passing day. Other characters like Eleana, Dev, Rae and Becca's constant support is also one of the main reasons why she continues to fight with the evil creatures, Metus and Aaron. Molly is lucky to have friends that will always be there for her.

Aaron is the most annoying and sly villain of all. I would gladly be in the story to kill him in the most horrifying ways. That man deserves to be taught a lesson. Throughout reading this book, my mind kept on wondering - why is this stupid man still not dead already?

This amazing book has kept me on the edge of my sit throughout the whole journey. It is the best way to conclude the story even though a side of me wished that this story will never end but all great things must come to an end. Just like this beautiful book. So beautiful, I mean seriously have you seen the absolutely gorgeous and stunning cover? My heart sort of melted when I first set my eyes on the cover. It is just too gorgeous!

Everyone should read this amazing series because I highly recommend it!

The Destined is the concluding story in The Dreamland Series, you'd better buckle up it's going to be a wild ride.

The Destined basically picks up where The Divide left us, with Molly having been disconnected from the dream world by the unhinged Aaron, hell bent on revenge.

I don't know if I have said this before but this series is epic, epic beyond your wildest dreams!!! I could have read this story over and over until the words are forever etched on to my mind.

E.J. Mellow is a very talented lady, not only has she managed to once mesmerize me with a story truly transcendent- one of a kind but also she has used her magic to create a world so tangible that I almost believe that if I close my eyes, I will be transported to a world woven with words.
She lets her magic flow through the pages and transform her beautifully crafted story into something utterly beautiful.

The Destined is intelligently constructed as the author leaves no stone unturned and believe me when I say that it is compulsive enough to devour in one sitting.

I just can't believe it's over. No more but I will be over here, holding out hope for more because that be it. It can't be.

So if you have loved this series so far, E.J. Mellow does not disappoint in the final installment and if you haven't started the story yet, go ahead and prepare to be dazzled!

We’ve known Dev and Molly. Ever since she started dreaming and this larger than life dream man became part of her reality, we’ve known them. Our hearts soared with them and broke with them. And after the ending of The Divide, I was nervous for what was in store for these two, Earth, and Terra.

I will say that my heart was broken in the start of this book. It was raw and painful. I wanted to climb in bed and not get out. Then when the answer to all our prayers came, I BAWLED. Like BAWLED. It hurt me. Though I know it was what would really make everyone happiest especially those parties directly involved, my heart shattered. Then we were introduced to a new character, one that wasn’t well loved by most, but became so crucial by the end. UGH! ANOTHER bawling jag. But again, it was best for all involved and all ended well, but STILL. I had to put this book down a couple of times and get over myself. But wow. What a finish to the series!

Again, Ms. Mellow does NOT dole out the mellow feelings. She catapults you straight to the heavens ONLY to plummet you to the depths of Hades. But I’ll tell you it’s worth every moment of the ride. Her world building is non-stop. Most stop building it once they’ve brought the characters into it, but we were still learning things about this world up until the last chapter. Her characters breathe life into the story and it makes me wish I could call Becca and see how everyone’s doing. So, yeah, the series is done, BUY THEM ALL and INHALE them. You won’t regret it. You’ll just snort to yourself about how could she call herself “mellow”, when reading her books leaves you feeling anything but.

Mama Says:
When you come to the end of a trilogy, you are nervous.  Will the author give me the ending I want? Will more people be lost?  Will I feel as if I've been cheated?  I am here to reassure you all that this is not something you need worry about with The Destined.  As the final act in what has been a thrilling journey of hope and dreams, the true cost of peace is discovered and many sacrifices are made along the way.  Reading this book I felt like my nerves were frayed and then slowly spliced back together by the words which were at times beautiful, heartbreaking, and even so difficult to read I had to put the book down.  Truly great works tend to affect us the most, and I can honestly say that The Dreamland series is one of my all time favorites.  I'm not fangirling here, this is my pure and undiluted opinion: EJ Mellow is a goddess and I worship at her altar.  There are so many passages marked in my copy that I had a hard time choosing which to share, but I'll leave you with one of the most stirring snippets of those delicious tidbits of letters between Dev and Molly, something to push you over the edge of indecision should you still reside there.

I might say this is the most action packed of the 3. But at the same time the romantic atmosphere and humor is always there of course! (If you read it you know what I mean, so read it! HAHAHAHA) I love the words used . I learned a whole lot of new words that widens my vocabulary. I really wonder how E.J Mellow writes the book. So action packed, details of Terra more intricate that it made me want to see some illustrations of it. The Vigil and Nocturna, all of the characters anyway. I wanted illustrations! You can't blame me for wanting to see them in shapes in a paper. Did I mention that I see the author through Molly too? HAHAHA (okay I laugh a lot sorry)

Even though this is a fantasy novel, the reality of how would the characters respond and feel to certain situations is real. I mean, I could somehow relate to some of the characters emotions. This book is beautifully written and so intricate. Yes, I'm wanting more of the series. The things that happened before Molly's time. *whispers - little novellas. But let's wait if there's something more from E.J Mellow. Her writing doesn't stop here. I really feel there are things that she would show us more.

This series, is one of my favorite reads this year. Even though I'm out of the bookish world, I can't just let the opportunity to review this just past by. Read it too! You'll see what I mean.

****SPOILER FREE**** I hate giving a review that revels anything so this will be very vague. You will have to read it to find out for yourself!

Thank you E. J. Mellow for sending me an early copy of your book. I feel very lucky and have loved every book, thank you. E. J. Mellow is a very gifted and talented author and you will see that throughout all her books (no she did not pay me to say that).

The Destined is the third and final book in the Dreamland series. In this book, we start the story where we left it at the end of book number two!

Just like her other books in this series, the Destined’s story was intense and felt like a rollercoaster.

Every story needs a good plot and good characters. And E.J. gives us just that. You will have to read the book to find out what I mean!

So beautifully written with such class. There are no enough words in the English dictionary to express how good this book is.

I am so sad that this series is over. Its like a piece of me is gone now :( but I know E.J. Mellow will keep gracing us with her amazing writing, or at least she better!

Oh and FYI, GO READ THIS SERIES!

Do you know that feeling you get when you finish a book or a series and there is no more and you feel a void in your life? That is what I am feeling right now. A void in my life that can only be filled with more Dev and Molly and the Dreamland.

It's like a nasty hangover - book version.

I don't know what took me so long to read this book. Maybe it was because the book was a little slow through the middle section. Or maybe it was because I knew this was it, this was the end of Dev and Molly's story (for now?) and I wanted to savor every last word.

My, oh my. There are some heart-wrenching moments in this book where your heart just breaks for everything happening to the characters. And for the choices they have to make. The feels just keep on coming.

The last third turns into a page turner. I could not hit the button on my kindle fast enough to turn the page. I kept waiting for the big war between the Metus and the people of Terra that was predicted, but it never really happened like what you might be thinking.

Molly and her being the Dreamer has definitely changed Terra for the good.

FIVE STARS!

HOLY MOTHER OF TERRA! Now, this is what I call a mesmerizing conclusion to a series. This book had EVERYTHING. Good dialogs, new lovable characters, AN AMAZING PLOT, action, the scenes were so freaking fast-paced; the book is just perfect. This one, is my favorite out of the three books! So many mind-blowing things happened that I don't even know how I'm sane right now, or am I? I have to say it again, the characters are my favorite part of this series. They felt so vivid, so real that sometimes I got goosebumps! I can describe this book as "a funny ride that all of a sudden starts taking lots of twists that slowly break your heart". One of the things that I actually enjoyed a lot in this one, is that Molly starts using her powers constantly to fight the Metus! I mean, she did in the other books, but on this one it was a whole different awesome thing! You know when sometimes you say "X book meets X book"? Well, you can't say that with this series because it is TRULY unique and original. There's only one thing I didn't like, and it's that this series has come to an end.

Like I said in my review of The Dreamer, I so wish I had read this series sooner. I have enjoyed getting to know the characters and the world of Terra so much. Of course, the romance and relationship between Dev and Molly was wonderful to watch as it developed. I also think the secondary characters were very well written with distinct voices, especially Rae and Hector.
It was such an enjoyable reading experience, I highly recommend this series. It's a great blend of romance and sci-fi/fantasy, with lots of action thrown in as well.

This is pretty standard paranormal romance - but the thing about it that I really, really liked was way the physical aspects of the romance were so subtly handled. No graphic detail - just poetic phrasing that didn't come across as cheesy.

Other than that, it was largely unremarkable. A good series and one I'd recommend. It didn't blow me away, but not much does when you read a steady diet of this stuff. I'd definitely read more from this author.

You won't regret picking this book up because you're gonna fall in love with them so hard (If you already read the rest of the book, you guys know what I'm talking about ;)) you won't even know it until you turn over that last page. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do. Have fun reading this last chapter of Dev and Molly's adventure !!

The Destined wraps up this beautiful story perfectly. I absolutely love he excerpts of the letters Dev and Molly wrote to each other it provided even more depth to the characters. Also I stayed up all night finishing this book! I could not put it down that's how perfect it was. Looking forward to more books by E.J.!

I just have no interest in finishing it.

I LOVED this authors Mousai series and bought all three dreamland books on a whim after finishing Dance of a burning sea and preordering the third book.

Super disappointed. Do not recommend.

Insta-love, cringe, 3.5 books and like nothing of substance has happened? Bleh.

Go read the Mousai series and skip this one.

nearly had a heart attack during Chapter 44!! Oh my gosh! This ended so well, so amazing! I knew Dr. What's His Nuts was not someone I liked in the beginning. Becca's nickname for that guy cracks me up. Love how Rae was willing to give up the life he knew for Molly. And Hector . . . ❤❤

I'm trying to find the right words. The perfect way to say that this book - this series - is a must-read. But I continuously come up empty.

I cracked open The Destined with bated breath. To say that I was invested after reading the first two books in the series would be an understatement. I was worried. Would I be disappointed? Would the series end the way I wanted it to? I could dwell on these worries ... or I could jump in and read.

And ... whoa. I wasn't disappointed. Not by a long shot.

"This is to be her trial," he explains. "And it is for you to decide her fate."

I'm fairly certain that an audible gasp escaped my lips at this point. Which is, in all honesty, not saying much, as I spent three days sighing, smiling, laughing out loud, cringing and ... gasping ... as I read along. I haven't been taken on this kind of rollercoaster since the likes of A Love Letter To Whiskey, and though these two books are very different, they both succeed in taking readers on one hell of a ride ... one that, the moment it's over, you're ready to get right back on.

"How ironic to find oneself in one's enemy."

Dev and Molly are the kind of characters that you can easily fall in love with. Molly, despite holding the fate of two worlds in her hands, remained humble and kind and funny. And their chemistry was undeniable. Add in the entertainment value of Becca, Rae and Hector, and E.J. Mellow hit amazing character gold!

From the moment I cracked open the book to the second I finished it I was truly enraptured in Mellow's tale and I wait with bated breath to see what she writes next. I know it will be a one-click for me.

Something in the romance between Molly and Dev is so artificial. That relationship went from 0 to 10 without any development. And bam, they are 2 halves of one soul. It was more believable with Jared.

Emotions… Gosh, how can she function at all with all that baggage raging inside constantly? Based on her “voice” telling the story, I’d think she was a 16-yo teen, not a 24-yo young professional.

Letter excerpts — neither Molly nor Dev, in their interactions, never once shown the vocabulary, mental development or ideation featured in those…

The storyline… and I read all 3 books despite my 2-star rating… it could’ve been so much more! It could’ve been excellent. It’s original, but with holes you can drive through… things just don’t align or align way too neatly. Characters are under-developed and stilted, the villain doesn’t make sense, the nightmares aka ultimate enemy don’t make a lick of sense. Molly, a girl who has trouble committing to anything, whether it’s a relationship or her job, suddenly got 100% onboard with being an ultimate hero/savior. What?!

Terra— that doesn’t make much sense. Technology, races, the world structure itself. It’s almost cartoonish and somehow wrong. It’s so similar to the Earth, but how can it be when 2 dimensions have no interaction, besides the appearance of a Dreamer once in a blue while. And why this world and its population would take on a mission of servitude to something they have zero overlap with?

My IMHO— this book is more a first draft than a finished work. Great idea that should’ve been thought thru.

PS To be fair, as I was reading, I made several bookmarks in each book. Some ideas/phrases resonated with me.

I really love this entire series. Although, I will say this one wasn’t my favorite, but I still enjoyed it and seeing the characters. I guess I was hoping for more solutions, and I feel like all of the trouble that they were having in the book. It seemed odd that all the trouble was because of one particular person. Also, I did not like the fact that they were treating her as a celebrity and I know she did not like that either and I would’ve loved to see her stand-up more for herself. Not just a little Ways, but in bigger ways. Otherwise, I will say I love seeing everyone that we have grown to no and love, and I love the fact that one of our favorite characters gets a dog. I think that I’m excited to see if there will ever be another book in this series or a spinoff of their lives, 20 years later.

Loved the finale book to this entire series. There were some pacing issues towards the end that left me going "huh? What just happened?" But all in all this was really fun. I loved Molly's growth. I loved her realism in dealing with trauma and being the chosen one. I loved that she understood self care was so vital to her well being and being independent enough to walk away from Dev in order to heal and recover rather than putting her relationship with him before her own physical and mental health. This is the kind of story we need to be selling women: there's no shame in needing alone and down time to just...be.
