All Steph wanted was to make some money and move on from a traumatic past. That was before Marcus dragged her straight into Hell.
Jessi is the new girl at Club Onyx. She's beautiful, charismatic, and just a little bit sinister with one hell of a story to tell.
Together, Jessi and Steph face the McDowell family and their two goons, Marcus and Johnny. Their Tear their underground business dealings to the ground by any means necessary. The problem is, neither of them fully understand just how deep and twisted the black market organ trade truly is.
I’ll start by saying… if you haven’t read just the tip, GO! Now! This is gruesome as it’s an incredible sequel of that first novel and if there’s something Rob writes amazingly is characters, they are in all this fiction so real and so human, each one is always a stand out piece in the story; but also as good as the characters as nasty and gag inducing the plot is… guts, vomit, shit, you can name the most smelly and nauseous things imaginable and you’ll find them in Rob books, and the best part is that besides the nastiness and the shocking nature of the events that unfolds in this book, I grew fondly with Jesse and Steph and each component he crafted to deepen the story, we were already introduced to in book one. As a sequel I was very pleased of all the new details known behind the madness in the first part, and absolutely enjoyed that vengeance atmosphere with some element of female rage while navigating the fact that this world is a shit unkind fucker and it can rot even the kindest souls. Anyways sorry for the rambling, I just love it, both books in this universe of corruption are so well tied and crafted. I love Robs books and writing so can’t wait for more!
Show Me Your Tips picks up where Nelson’s last book, Just the Tip left us. I highly recommend you read both, but this one works perfectly fine as a standalone.
Club Onyx is operated by the McDowells. On the surface, it’s a strip club. Behind the scenes, however, the business is much darker. Steph is a stripper at Club Onyx, and she gets involved with the guys who do the dirty work for the owners. The story of how she ended up here is far from simple.
Enter Jessi, the new girl at the club. She comes with a killer body, and a head full of agendas. Let the show begin.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. Well, that’s almost true. There were moments when I found myself wondering, ”what is wrong with you? Who hurt you?“ about the author, while coming dangerously close to seeing my dinner for the second time that day.
Rob Nelson is brilliant at making the reader feel uncomfortable.
This book is fast-paced, action-packed, disgusting, sexy, and has great character work. I wholeheartedly recommend this book if you enjoy any of the above.
Trigger Warning: A strong stomach is recommended. Preferably an empty one.
Wow. Where to begin…? This book was everything I wanted and more! A perfect continuation of Just The Tip with its absurdly disgusting descriptions, over the top violence, and hard-earned vengeance. I loved it and appreciated the extra action and fighting in this book. Fucking badass!
4 stars. "Show Me Your Tips" is @robnhorror's follow-up to the gross, violent, depraved, and pretty fucked up (his words, not mine… though I fully agree!) first part of this duology (?) that started with the delicious but decidedly puke-inducing "Just the Tip". This time - even with the significant body count by the end of Part 1 - we pick things up with the same crowd plus a few more sickos only a few weeks after Jesse-with-an-e's "suicide" (or "what Bob Ross would call a happy fucking accident.") and his pal Dolores' unfortunate collection appointment. Naturally, if you're following the syllabus and reading along, you know that Jesse (see last letter) did NOT kill himself and just basically faded to black with his usual bad luck and downtrodden existence. If only someone were around to avenge him… I’m doing it because I don’t give a fuck if I die…
This time though the cameras have switched their view 180° - we in fact see some of the scenes from JtT from the opposite perspectives - and the focus is in large part on Cody's parents, James and Heather McDowell. We get a full view on just how they've acquired their vast wealth, including the "good" and the "extremely bad" sides of same. You see, this couple are "entrepreneurs through and through, maintaining a legal business as a way to launder obscene amounts of money." They even come across to the public as extremely generous folks, using some of their ill-gotten gains to fund health services and more. It's only when we see how their illicit loan-sharking ("… much like student loans, our loans are… predatory.") and eventual illegal organ donor businesses operate that we get a real taste of things. Let's just say it becomes pretty damn obvious that the late Cody's deviances were probably in large part genetic in nature… not that he ever got much nurture to be fair. Are you insane or just plain fucking stupid?
So along with this we get to meet the "goons" from Book 1 who carry out the killing and butchering "for record breaking profits" very intimately. Johnny is a former board certified surgeon that obviously enjoys killing far too much ("Johnny was single-handedly the most dangerous and terrifying human he had ever met."). He is joined by the exceedingly disgusting (man, what this dude puts in his mouth sometimes is Gag City!!) Marcus, a professional crime scene cleaner which is really ironic considering how utterly filthy this dude is (meant literally in this case). Together, they keep track of the McDowell's loans that are channeled via their strip club. If you pay back your loans on time, no worries, everyone's happy and life goes on. If not, well, let's just say that folks out there seeking a spare kidney or an extra spleen or whatever are willing to pay whatever is needed ("I thought this shit only happened in the movies."). And since the organ biz pays better than the loans going out, well, it's a pretty obvious mix of winning on one side and the ultimate in losing on the other… and in the goriest possible fashion. We are foreclosing on their loan and taking the agreed upon collateral.
Along the way we meet some kind hearted young ladies, including Jessi-with-an-i who just may not be who she seems to be at first. Without providing too many spoilers, there is more than one person wrapped up with the strip club that would like to bring the McDowell's to ruin. And what works BETTER in this book than the first is that the author takes his time setting up a real caper that provides the readers with a bunch of cool twists and turns. Sure, by the last page you may be mumbling "well, shit, I was expecting a happy ending" but no matter what you are stopping by to see, it turns out to be an exciting caper. And again, this was in my opinion much more exciting in terms of the build-up vs. our 24-hour gore-a-thon in the first book that just left me wanting more. Yes, yes: I am!!! implying that here it is! You want to get silly; we can get fuckin’ hilarious.
So one thing I would definitely encourage all readers to do is get a big bucket ready for obvious reasons ("He never fuckin’ follows the ‘no splatter’ rule."). No wait, what was the other thing…? Oh right, I would highly encourage you to read these two quick books in one go. They really fit well together and are unique enough from each other to really provide any and all fans of the genre with whatever stinks the place up. Yeah, there are different triggers for each book for sure but this is some Grade-A sick reading! OK, yeah, sure: I still wish the editing was a little better but whoever is charge of that is especially allergic to punctuation errors at the end of sentences. I guess that's just how it is (ha ha, see what I did there Hello ? Well, shit
i’ve been honored to ARC read his last 2 books, and considered myself the coolest kid in school. i have always loved his writing style. even reading scrambled eggs on my iphone when he sent it out to random people in a splatterpunk group here on facebook! arc reading has opened doors for me i never thought possible. i’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching rob soar and upset readers with his degenerate brain. reading a writers work before it hits publicly? super fucking cool. but to have strangers how have the same interests in horror as you, really takes the cake.
“show me your tips” however, really made me question my sanity and how i truly don’t even bat an eye at splatterpunk/extreme horror stories.
but this was different… this was absolutely DISGUSTING. it was brutal, blood fueled, nightmare fuel, and dissociation so bad to the point that i had to put my kindle down and say to myself “girl… are you good?” but that is the whole point of this whole sub genre. it’s supposed to make you uncomfortable and squirmy. if it doesn’t, it wasn’t written correctly. that’s what i’m here for- the gore, and not to mention the story behind it.
‼️not often can men write a female well. i actually avoid this authors actively.‼️
rob nelson? he completely changed my mind. the way he wrote about tragedy from Steph’s point of view not only made my jaw drop, but made me feel seen.
the pain from Lisa’s dialogue was enough to bring a small tear.
this is a “good for her” book that was done eloquently, if i do say so myself.
the revenge was there, the plot, the characters, and the awful men who do the shitty things we do.
because yeah… leave it to a man to leave a woman in the parking lot with a busted ankle and her shin bone poking out to save himself. 🙄
only he didn’t. you don’t get to treat women poorly and upend their entire life and survive. well done, rob.
s*x work is often a topic many folks avoid or turn their noses up at. but does rob nelson? no. he locks in and he tells the complete story as how it is supposed to go. i thank you for this, mr nelson.
if you’re looking for something absolutely riveting, disgusting, putrid, and nauseating, i highly recommend “SHOW ME YOUR TIPS”. releasing october 9th, 2026. if you get me nothing for my birthday on the 11th- i’ll be directly asking you to download this book on kindle unlimited, or supporting my boy.
—also, as Stephanie says, i’m not a fucking whore.—
I’ve been seeking out Rob Nelson ARCs since I randomly came across his first book and was stoked to get an early copy of this. I’m even more stoked to be the first GR review for it!
Consistency is key, and Rob shows he’s got it with his third novel that takes us back to the world of Just The Tip. While it’s somewhat of a direct sequel, I don’t think it’s completely required to read JTT to get enjoyment out of this one. You probably should read it anyway though because it’s awesome.
If you’re familiar with Rob’s other works already, you’ll be right at home with this one. Once again flowing from gross-out gore-filled scenes of creative debauchery, directly into hauntingly grounded and bleak scenes, the tone changes often enough to give you a roller coaster of an experience, leaving something for all fans of the splatterpunk genre.
Perhaps take a tums before reading if you have a sensitive stomach. Between the body fluids and body breaking, this book is gross, appalling even. But that’s why you’re here isn’t it? As mentioned before, it also has some serious scenes with incredibly dark subject matter.
So yes, read it. Read it with the family. Embrace the next story in the Nelson Literary Universe™️
The story is a continuation of Just The Tip , but can be read as a stand alone novel. The story now follows Steph, a stripper at Onyx Club, and two goons, Marcus and Johnny, that work in the organ selling industry. Under the direction of James and Heather (the big bosses at Onyx Club), Marcus and Johnny loan out money to poor and desperate gamblers. If they don’t pay back their loan, they pay it back with their lives. Steph gets wrapped into this by force and finds out more than she wanted to.
This was such a fun read! Just The Tip ended with such a mystery around Cody’s parents so I’m glad we got to see more of them. I was rooting for the girls! Steph and Lisa were fucking badasses. Deliciously gory and brutal. I liked the dark web/red room bits that came up in the story. Sad to see what happened to at the end though! Such a good vengeance story filled with violence and rage.
Thank you to Rob Nelson for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
It took me a bit to get into it, but once all the dots were connected and I felt familiar with what seemed like a truckload of different characters, I loved it.
This was actually one of the few books that made me squirm a couple of times. It was bloody, disgusting and brutal.
What I love about Rob's books is that I feel like there are no good guys or bad guys. Everyone's fucked up in his or her own way, and how much of a monster someone becomes simply depends on the circumstances.
I would advise reading Just The Tip before this one. I regret not rereading it beforehand. Fortunately, it had made enough of an impression on me that I remembered enough to piece the puzzle together (I rarely remember anything once I've finished a book).
Show Me Your Tips will stay with me too. Some scenes are branded into my mind, and I'll probably never get rid of those images. Which is exactly why I love this book.
This was seriously sick, twisted, and depraved! 😂 If you’re a fan of violence, over-the-top gore, and scenes that will make your stomach turn, then this one is definitely for you—as long as you’re not too squeamish! I really loved how this story ties into the earlier book, which I also thought was fantastic. It adds another layer to the story while giving us even more character development. And honestly, in some cases, getting to know these characters better just made me dislike them even more! 😂 One of the most disturbing themes throughout the story is the complete lack of value placed on human life. People are disposable. Your enemies? Disposable. Strangers? Disposable. Even your own family? Apparently disposable. 😳 This was such a fun, quick, completely messed-up read that kept me on edge from beginning to end. It’s bloody, brutal, depraved, and absolutely not for the faint of heart—and I loved every second of it!
An absolute banger. I loved this book. After reading "Made a Monster" < 1 year ago, and "Just The Tip" earlier this year - I am stoked how Rob has created this world and ties characters together. He's so good at it!!!
This is the much needed/wanted sequel to Just The Tip and holy hell, the depths of depravity reached were impressive.
The social topics touched on in this one are so relevant it was terrifying. That you're worth more alive, etc.
I'm happy that all the characters got what was coming to them, but that was... just the tip... of the iceberg of terrible people in the world and what humans are capable of.
If you love splatterpunk, have few triggers, and love a good, fast-paced revenge story, I highly recommend this book (and all the others).
I will definitely need to buy the physical for my trophy bookshelf to go along with the rest!
Thank you to Rob Nelson for the ARC of this book. I'm leaving this review voluntarily and all thoughts are my own. I have come to associate Rob with watching bad people get tortured. And I went into this book expecting more of the same. Unfortunately, this one was a miss for me. Yes, bad people died. But this one just felt like the torture porn from the early 00s, with way more innocent victims than ones that deserved it. And the ones that deserved it died way too quickly, almost feeling like after thoughts. Just the Tip was fantastic because all the violence had felt cohesive and tied to the story, but Show Me Your Tips felt more "check list of violence and depravity". I am also not a fan of introducing a rape as a tragic basckstory, even if it didn't happen to a main character, if I don't get to see that rapist ripped to shreds.
Stunned. Speechless. Straight up need a cigarette after this one. You’ve heard that some books are written in crack format but this one is something else. It’s gory, sexy, brutal, and nasty!! What more could you want?! As always our boy Rob Nelson doesn’t wait to kick things off and get to it. Shortly after you start you meet their first collection and the brutality just levels up throughout the story. Don’t forget I said this book was sexy too though. Wink wink. This is definitely my FAVORITE book of the year so far. The violence was so in depth and creative and the story really brings the characters to life and you feel like you’re right there in it. I would genuinely give this multiple 5 stars. Well done friend!!
I knew strolling into this book that I'd love it- but I didn't expect it to be damn near perfection! I struggle when books have female characters in the adult service industry, but the way Rob brought these characters to life and made you root for (or against) them was absolutely phenomenal.
The Easter eggs causally scattered through this book were amazing and made the story feel so full-
Also can we talk about the scene in the house towards the end of the book? Goddaym.
This was another brutal, brilliant and gorgeous book that I feel incredibly honored to have gotten the chance to arc read.
Thank you to Rob for the chance! 🫶🏻 This was amazing and I highly recommend it!
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?! I will be certifiably pissed on and goddamned if Rob Nelson hasn’t started his splatterpunk career by writing three perfect books in a row. For starters, Rob has proven that his writing is anything but one dimensional. The atmosphere and setting of Show Me Your Tips was a major departure from those of Just the Tip, as Just the Tip was from Made a Monster. All three have been flawlessly executed. That said, the evolution here is evident. As a splatterpunk book, the violence and depravity is extreme. In fact, this may be Rob’s bloodiest book yet. However, for me, it almost felt less extreme because the storytelling aspect of Show Me Your Tips is absolutely Rob at his best. And I’d bet my last cigarette on it that he hasn’t hit his peak yet.
How Rob can make me experience the five stages of grief with everything he writes is just amazing. Went from dry heaving in disgust to being turned on in five minutes flat. This was a perfect sequel to tie up Just The Tip. The story takes place just after everything happened. The story developed beautifully & Rob did an amazing job at keeping me on my toes, I never knew what was coming next. I think the author articulated the character arcs very well. Show Me Your Tips is the perfect gory, bloody, and sick twisted read for October. As I told my friends: “Rob never fails to make me gag. I’ve been dry heaving for ten minutes. Yall are gonna f**king love this sh*t. I was gonna say grab some popcorn, but maybe just forgo the snacks all together. Brb.”
Daaaaaaaaaamn, just damn! This book had everything that you could ask for in a splatterpunk world! From the start, there were twists and turns, and a lot of blood and gore! There are even some stripper John Wick scenes!!! I could not put this book down!
Quick question… what does lasagna, heads, nail punches, top slide of pistol, and a car tire have in common??? Well read to find out!!!
If you have not pre ordered this book… do it time now! You will not regret it! Great job with this book Rob, and keep up the great work!!!
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This one is not going to be for everybody, but I'm sure if you read the first book Just the Tip you are well aware of what you are getting into.
Rob Nelson takes it to the next level. there's not a lot of books that nearly make me gag, but this one really makes you nearly taste and smell the vulgarness of the story. Which if you're reading this subgenre you are well aware that it means the author nailed it.
I highly recommend reading Just the Tip first so it all makes sense and it really comes together nicely covering the aftermath of Jesse.
Summary: Following on from 'Just The Tip', we see what happened with Delores & why Marcus and Johnny cross paths with her. We see the absolutely insane business of Heather and James, and how they really get their money (heads up - if loans aren't paid, the bodies pay). Then we meet Lisa again, who is ready for revenge.
Review: I loved how this carried on from just the tip, and covered everything that was still unanswered. Lisa and Steph's friendship was brief but lovely, and finding out Marcus is actually worse than Johnny was a shocker. If you liked Just The Tip, you need to read this!
I'm thrilled to have had the chance to read another ARC from Rob! Show Me Your Tips follows the events that occur in Just the Tip so I definitely encourage reading that before starting this book! This story follows Steph and Lisa at Club Onyx bonding over their past trauma and then setting their sights on taking down the corrupt McDowell family. There's blood! There's cum! There's various body fluids you wish you wouldn't have read about!
Rob has shown time and time again that he should quit his day job and write full time because he's incapable of writing anything other than a complete banger. Anything is possible in this book so check your trigger warnings.
I’ve been hooked on Rob Nelson’s books ever since I was honored to beta read Made a Monster! He sure knows how to write one heck of an entertainingly wild story. This one was fast paced and hooked me right away. I loved getting the different characters’ backstories and seeing how everything came together to take down those horrible people. Overall, this was a thrilling revenge tale that was disgustingly depraved in all the best ways with some seriously brutal kills! Definitely check those trigger warnings before diving in.
Rob Nelson is back with another absolutely gory, brutal, and gut wrenching tale. Show Me Your Tips carries on from the ending of Just The Tip. The first three chapters with Dolores were painful to read at times, already knowing how it would end. Rob Nelson does a terrific job showing the cycle of trauma as Jessi and Steph try to survive. I couldn’t put this book down, it’s everything I could have asked for after Just The Tip with the last quarter of the book being the most satisfying, yet also the most devastating. Will absolutely be picking up the next book he writes.
I received an arc of Show Me Your Tips by Rob Nelson!
Let me start by saying this book was f****ng amazing. It picks up right after the book Just the tip and gives you a glimpse into how everyone became connected in the story. From start to finish this book had me locked in. If it wasn’t for work, sleep, and other adult things i would’ve finished this in one sitting. This book was gorey, disgusting, and everything in between. Rob you are one hell of a degenerate as am I for loving this book.
He does it again! Show Me Your Tips, sequel to Just The Tip, brings twice the gore, and ten times the fun! I loved all the callbacks to the first novel. Though this is a sequel, it does work as a standalone, and I do also highly recommend Just The Tip too! I absolutely adore anything Rob writes. He has a special way of making me sick with his descriptive, gore soaked novels, but you will ALWAYS find me coming back for more! This was no exception, I loved it, get your copy today! 🤠🔥
What I loved was yes it can be called a sequel based on the name alone, but its a whole new story and boy does the craziness ramp up with this one. When I read extreme horror/ splatterpunk I want the over the top gore and this one did not let up and I think it was even more out there then the first one.
Rob Nelson never disappoints!! I was hooked from the moment I started. From the badass FMC, the hilarious banter (esp from the old lady 😭😭), the DISGUSTING kill scenes...there was even a hot (like, actually hot) spicy scene...def in my top 5 splatterpunk books this year!!
My fist review was flagged because it went against “content guidelines” because I said fuck you Rob Nelson. But I’m writing this again because I still stand by that with 10 toes down
Pretty good! I was hoping for those two jackasses to die from the jump (Marcus, mainly) so I’m glad that finally happened. The ending- omg. 😭 my poor Steph. Uggggh.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
“If a camera crew followed you around for your entire life; then showed you the footage as you stood before the gates of Heaven, would you be able to say you were confident and proud of the life you led?” reading enough of Rob’s books, I’m not even making it to Heaven’s gates. God saw my Kindle history and revoked my application. At this point, I’m driving the fucking party bus to Hell. 💀
As Stephanie says, “I’m not a fucking whore.”
Well, Stephanie… I AM. A whore for Rob’s absolutely depraved books.
Show Me Your Tips was VILE. FOUL. FUCKING UNHINGED. Rob somehow crams every “WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST READ?” moment imaginable into a book AND still gives us an actual plot.
And this one? PURE. FEMININE. FUCKING. RAGE. Watching horrible men pay for horrible shit? ✨THERAPY✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS. This book contains damn near ALL OF THEM. If you have a trigger, Rob probably put it in here..I warned you don’t get mad at me when your crying because you don’t listen😇
