I've worked in publishing for twenty years and I sincerely love books and authors. I started this journey with my own books planning to write just one, and then well - all I can say is the stories kept coming. My original series The Publicist, follows Kate, Mac, Nick, Vivienne and a host of other awesome characters as they make their lives in New York, amidst the chaos that publishing often brings with it.

I am now exploring a fictional small town called Harper's Corner. This series is so fun, because there are so many characters in this town, from sexy firemen and hot Army guys, to an awesome group of women that I affectionally call "the coven." These books will explore each of these characters, and their journey to finding the loves of their lives.

I love writing, and I love reading and if I'm not actively writing a book, I'm probably dreaming of what I'll write next.

Please feel free to email me at authorchristinageorge@gmail.com with your thoughts on any of my books.

Thank You!

I just finished rereading the first three books in this Publicist series that I loved so much . After finishing I couldn't let Mac go. I kept thinking about the series and especially Mac whom I had been routing for. After looking at Christina 's book list I found book four. Thank you so much for Mac's HEA.

Any good writer knows that all characters have their moments. Whether it be for the good side, bad, or just a supporting character. Mac was a large character in the first three books of course. Mac is a character that at times makes it so you despises him due to his morals and decisions, but appreciate at other times. It’s obvious he has the ability to love on a certain capacity. I can remember hearing my Mom say about a family member that he loved as much as he possibly could and in his own way. That reminds me of Mac. Life experiences and situations have shaped him in to who he is. It was obvious of course in the end that he wouldn't end up with Kate. Nick was always my choice for her regardless. But Mac deserves a happily ever after too. Even though I was surprised at the continuance, I was happy about it too. It ties them all together and ends the series in a positive spot. It doesn't leave you with one of those dreaded cliffhangers that happen in some series.

With it being about him and Sydney, you get a peek into their history. His lost love shaped a portion of him that would later make decisions to remove him off and protect his emotions. It’s an all too common scenario in life and totally believable. How many people have loved and lost? After all it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved in the first place? Mac loved his wife at one point, and the tragedies in their lives led to both of them having negative views. Like for Mac, when he had the affairs, he had ground rules so that he would not be hurt again. Even though he did, he found he could survive it. Sydney was able to help him achieve that.

I liked Sidney right away. Like Kate, her character is engaging and you find the strength in her to be both endearing and envious. Her life to that point dictated that for her. You feel like she’s the perfect fit for Mac. Which for me is a big difference compared to him with Kate. Yes, team Nick here!

Her strength compliments the same in Mac instead of competing with it. She’s quick, thorough and to the point. She expects to have quick answers and values relationships. These things are what perhaps Mac was lacking at some points. I really liked them together. Even someone like Mac who hasn’t been the revered “good guy” in the other books, needs that closure. You get to see two strong characters blossom in a wonderful story. Ms. George gave Mac, Sydney and her fans some closure and entertainment. In my opinion, it’s a pretty good read. I would have liked for it to be a longer story. But it was enjoyable! I would recommend it to anyone. I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

What an amazing continuation of the Publicist series!!! After reading Climax (3rd book in this series) you are not left with the best opinion of Mac Ellis. Yes he is amazingly smart, successful, and handsome and seems to be the perfect fit for Kate Mitchell but he does the worst thing a man can do, he cheats and breaks her heart. In "A Second Chance", Mac Ellis has left his job with Kate and has gone back to his old publishing company. He was brought on in hopes of bringing the company back to its former glory and in order to do so he needs to sign some big authors. As luck would have it, a CIA agent known as The Wonder Woman is looking to publish her story and has contacted Morris and Dean Publishing to set up a meeting. Mac realizes that a book by this woman could be just the best seller that he needs to jump start his new career and immediately schedules a meeting with her. When he meets Sydney Sullivan he is instantly captivated by her beauty, intelligence, and the overwhelming sense of knowing her from somewhere. Because of her ongoing affiliation with the CIA, she has introduced herself as Anne Sullivan to keep her identity a secret. Even before seeing Mac Ellis in person she knows him. They grew up together. He was her first love and first heart break. She doesn't feel like it is important to clue him in because she really just wants her book to get published. She agrees to let M&D publishing do her book and insists that Mac travel to her Vermont estate for a week so they can work on her book. Once Mac finally realizes who she really is, all the memories and emotions come back to him. They were just kids when they split but neither of them ever fully got over it. I won't spoil the rest of the book but the story really takes off from here and you get to know both characters as well as their back stories. I really liked that Christina George has taken Mac Ellis and totally changed the way I feel about him. He made some mistakes with Kate but she ended up finding happiness and starting a new life despite that so isn't it his turn to find a little happiness? If you have followed the Publicist series, go download this book now, you won't be disappointed. Even if you haven't read the others, go download this book because you will love it and then you can go back and read the others!!This is such a great and very quick read. I just couldn't put it down! I cannot wait to read the next installment of the Publicist series. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

This is the 4th book in the series and although I didn’t read books one and two, I had no trouble getting to know the characters and figuring out what led them to the situation in the current book. In this book the main character is Mac, the head of a large publishing firm where Kate Mitchell, the main character in book 3, worked.

In this case, Mac leaves the firm and goes back to his old company while Kate builds her new life after their heartbreak. Mac meets a stunning author, Sydney, who has a secret identity and a hidden past, who knows Mac from the past but she doesn’t tell him this. It takes a while, but he figures out how they know each other and of course this sets the stage for some steamy romance.

Sydney, as it turns out, has a secret identity because of her involvement with the CIA. A bit farfetched? Maybe, but it does allow for some suspense and intrigue as we learn from reading each chapter’s differing points of view that both the main characters are keeping secrets and have messed up their lives and want a “second chance.”

It should be noted that there were a lot of typos in the book that can be distracting. It seems like someone really should have read it over for these simple yet noticeable mistakes. It’s also a short book, so there’s not a lot of room for plot or character development other than what is necessary to keep the book moving along. That’s partly what makes it a guilty pleasure though, in that it is quick and easy to read. Other than those two deficiencies, it’s great how the author George is able to continue a series like this over 4 books with familiar characters and a back story that is somewhat shared by all the books, yet keep the story line interesting and new. This book is definitely more about Mac, which is interesting because after reading book 3, we get an impression of him that may be not so positive. However, this book allows us to get inside his head more and understand the turmoil that he was feeling after all the changes that happened in previous books. Overall a good read and a good continuation to the series! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! Christina George has done it again! I have had the privilege of reading other books by Christina and was only too happy to read this one. I read it from cover to cover! While this is the fourth book in The Publicist series, it was a great stand alone read as well. I loved getting to hear Mac's side of the story as he struggled to redefine himself after heartbreak. Christina George writes with many insights and details into the depths of all of her characters.

I liked this book because the storyline captured my attention immediately, even without having read all of the previous titles in the series. This book is well written and I enjoyed getting insights in the world of publishing as well. I am now a definate Christina George fan and will be watching to see what she does next.

Mac is such a well developed character, I could commiserate right along with him as he is trying to figure out what he really wants from his life. Mac is the head of a large publishing firm, hoping to revitatilize it and get it back on top once again. He has gone along for many years, happy with where he was, not wanting to commit anything outside of his own comfort zone. After a lot of challenges in his personal life, he now has to rebuild. He has to face the choices he made in the past and decide if he wants to maintain the way he was or develop himself into the man he really wants to be.

Mac realizes that he must move forward and maybe someday he can find love again. Just as he is starting to mend, he is met with a new author that stretches him like no one ever has. Anne Sullivan is a CIA operative that has written a book and is sharing some of her stories with the world. She is nicknamed "Super Woman" and Mac soon realizes that she is very much more than just an operative.

Go along with Christina George as she shares Mac's continuing story! I couldn't put it down!

A sweet new chance for a beloved character in the series! This book is the 4th in a series. It can definitely be a stand-alone book but you may be left wondering where some characters went for a majority of the book assuming that they were a big character when actually they were bigger characters in one of the other three. I will attempt to review the book without giving away too much of the plot. I like that after liking a feeling for Mac you saw such a gentle warming side to him and you got to watch him grow into such a loving person after figuring out what he really truly wants. I also liked that we watched him love deeply but he didn’t expect her to change drastically for him instead he allowed her to make her choice! Sometimes I did get annoyed that in one chapter you were reading as if you were Mac and Sydney. So one paragraph it was Mac’s POV and the next was Sydney’s which got a little confusing.
A Second Chance did relate to people’s lives. Sometimes you just get down on yourself and don’t find yourself worthy of anything or anybody and then one thing/person can help you change that feeling. In life there are a crazy amount of misunderstandings that when they get resolved you feel as if you have wasted so much of your time. You have something/someone and lose it and you feel lost just like Mac. Then someday a miracle happens and life turns out the way it was supposed to go when prior to that miracle you were about to give up.
I rated the book a 5 because it was an easy read, had short chapters for busy people who plan on finishing a chapter and doing this or that then getting back to it. It was heartfelt and could relate to many people, maybe not specifics but in general. I would recommend this book to adult readers as both a stand-alone but would recommend reading the entire series higher because it would give you so much more depth into the characters.

Review: A Second Chance by Christina George

[spoiler alert]

Fourth in The Publisher series, A second Chance can easily be read as a stand-alone book.

Author is great at surprising twists and easily relatable characters.

Mac is a man with a past. He’d made a mess of his life and was working hard to find a way to change that. Then he met Wonder Woman—a super-spy turned author he hoped to bring into his publishing house. Max was fascinated. Mesmerized. He’d finally met his match.

Sydney, his soon-to-be author, was also affected. But she had a secret. She knew they had a past, which she was keeping from him.

Then he finds out and all those feelings from the past joined the attraction that was taking him over in the present.

But Sydney is afraid. It had nearly crushed her the last time she lost him. Is she brave enough to face loving him again when she's too afraid of losing him once more?

It’s when they both take a chance that their magic happens.

This is a sweet romance, and a reminder that redemption is always possible. Mac takes his second chance with Sydney and makes the most of it.

Review:

I enjoyed this quick and easy read. It’s good as a stand-alone book, though as the Book Four of The Publicist series it is a great addition. Getting to know the characters is always fun in Christina George’s books. I have to admit, I enjoyed seeing Mac grow and change, and seeing the changes in Sydney were heart-warming as well. I’m looking forward to more books in The Publicist series. George does a great job of getting the reader involved in the character’s lives, and the twists and turns of their lives are realistic, but surprising.

This book will appeal to anyone who loves a good romance. I highly recommend A Second Chance!

When I realized I was reading the last book in a series I was a bit unsure if that was the smartest thing to do. I can honestly say I do not regret it for a moment! Within a matter of a few pages, I found myself hooked on Mac Ellis and his romantic adventures, despite the fact he had proven a bit of a cad in the past. When it came to his career, he came across as a serious, down and dirty publisher desperate for his chance to revive a failing publishing house but he also came across as a man longing for love.

What interested me most and what kept me reading were Mac and his needs and desires. He had regrets about mistakes he had made in his past, especially when it came to his ex-wife and then his ex-Kate. I kept wondering would he get back with Kate, despite her being happily married with a child or would he get back with his ex-wife, two women he obviously had tremendous love for throughout his life. Then “Wonder Woman” walked into his life. The chemistry between Mac and Sydney was undeniable. This book had a bit of everything for me, there was humor, a touch of eroticism, pain, longing, and it was nowhere near as predictable as I had anticipated.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Frankly, the book had me hooked almost immediately. It was the first book in a long time that I simply could not put down, and I didn’t, not until I had read the entire book. “A Second Chance” had me laughing one minute, intrigued the next, and hopeful others, throw in a bit of erotic tension here and there and you have everything perfectly delivered in one book. By the time I was finished reading the book, all I could think was, “what happens to Mac now?” I can only hope Christina George brings Mac and Sydney back for yet another installment of this riveting story.

Christina George did a good job of building the suspense of this story from the beginning. Although some may find a slow start getting to the good parts, the author did great in setting a foundation for readers. The background information for each of the characters was just enough to keep the reader enticed to learn more. Key pieces of information were revealed at appropriate times that played into the story line. Many readers may have questions as I had. Will Mac and Kate get back together? Is she his second chance? Why does Sydney feel so familiar to Mac? These questions I had, plus several more, were all answered in due time.

I did like this novel as I’m normally am a sucker for romances and this did deliver a wonderful story of how love finds its way. They always say if you love something let it go and if it’s meant to be it will come back to you. This is certainly the case with Mac and how years later he finds happiness again. Even though the characters are much older than those in books I normally read, I found that their age didn’t deter from the story, but showed that love is never too late.

This novel was well laid out and written, which made it easy to follow between characters, their interactions and their thoughts. It may help readers to have read the previous novels in the series, but I don’t think it would be necessary to have read them prior to this novel as it still shines enough light onto each character to not make the reader feel as though something is largely missing. It has definitely peaked my interest in reading the previous novels. Overall this novel gets my stamp of approval as being a good romance read.

I read this book in less than 24 hours! I could not place it down for even a second. I am so glad that Ms. George decided to write another book and include Mac as the main character. In the previous books, it is hard for the reader to not like Mac and want to see him happy as well. There is a little awkwardness as Mac runs in to Kate in the beginning. You can sense his feeling of loss and embarrassment over losing her the way that he did. There is very little in this book regarding Kate and Nick, but just enough to complete the Publicist Series. Mac gets back in to the swing of things for his job and is ready to land a major book for the company. He wanted to meet the author of the book in order to discuss it in further detail. He is surprised to find out that his company won the book for publishing over Kate’s and doesn’t realize that there is another reason for it. The author of the book, is Mac’s first love. He doesn’t realize it since they haven’t seen each other in over 3 decades. During their time together working on the book, their love rekindles and the flames are ablaze with passion between them. Sydney, Mac’s first love and current author is a CIA agent. She is by far, the most fascinating character in this book! I would love to see a book focused on her adventures. That sure would be an amazing sub series. Finally though, there is a happy ending for all. I am sad that this series has come to an end…..but I can always hope for more. Thank you, Christina George, for the amazing escape from reality! I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I find myself caught on the Christina George train and I don't want to get off anytime soon! What a entertaining read! After reading Climax, I was eager to read more. This series felt like I was drinking salt water to quench my thirst; the more I read, the more I kept feeling like it was never enough and I needed to consume more of the complicated love story of Kate, Nick, and Mac.

When I first started this series, I was not really invested in the characters. Everyone seemed petty and too self absorbed. Fortunately George has a great gift of writing relate-able characters and that kept me wanting to delve deeper into the world of publishers and Manhattanites. Second Chances felt like a revisit of old friends or watching a sequel to a cherished movie. Characters, backdrop, and environments were familiar so the transition into Mac Ellis's world was enticing and easy to follow. Without much hesitation, Mac finds himself in a new romantic conflict with a CIA operative that proves to be the partner that challenges a man of his professional success and work ethic. The way they interacted and related felt organic and tangible.

The juxtaposition between "Wonder Woman" and Mac is charming because of our past experience of Mac however it is not necessary to read previous books in this series to enjoy Second Chance. The themes are universal of redemption and rebirth which Christina George illustrates in a down to earth, fun way. With a satisfying ending, Second Chance delivers to the reader who wants to learn more about the beloved characters in the Publicist series.

In the fourth installation of The Publicist, Christina George tells her readers what happens to Mac. Mac used to have it all, a great career, a great family, incredible looks and a personality that made women swoon. But we knew all that already.

Throughout the rest of the Publicist series we learned of his marital trouble with Carolyn, his now ex wife, and with Kate his former colleague and fiance. Kate is now happily married to Nick and has started her family and runs her own publishing firm. Mac has a hard time moving on from his breakup with Kate and knows that Kate will be the only woman he loves. Ever again.

Until a mysterious author who was made famous through her work at the CIA comes into his life and his firm is chosen to market her book. Will their pasts keep them apart or will a flame that once was burn bright again.

Christina George has a knack for transporting the reader into her stories so that we may experience the story, characters and settings as if we were there watching the events unfold.

A Second Chance is a story of love lost, love found, redemption and learning to move on even in the face of the utmost adversity. This book can be a stand alone feel good story as the author does provide background information on all the characters and events but in order to truly feel what Mac is feeling you should start from The Publicist Book One and read the series straight through. I promise you will not regret it. A Second Chance is the shortest in The Publicist Series and at just over 100 pages is a quick read and well worth the time.

MacDermott Ellis has definitely gone through the ringer. After all Mac only blew his marriage to Carolyn, and then his subsequent engagement to Kate Mitchell. It was about time that he does some much needed soul-searching. Yet Mac is slowly pulling the pieces back together, and is now the CEO of Morris and Dean, a publishing company also trying to regain its own footing.

The past still haunts Mac though. While being offered one of the biggest opportunities in his career by scoring a book deal with “Wonder Woman,” there is some underlying apprehension. The mystery remains as to the true identity of this American heroine. Who is “Wonder Woman?”

The audience finds that Mac gets a taste of his own medicine. He actually meets a woman, Sydney “Anne” Sullivan, who is just like him. Sydney is all work, work, and more work. One of the most pivotal moments is when Sydney invites Mac to her farm in Vermont. It’s obvious that Mac is on edge around her. However, Sydney also constantly doubts herself, despite being such a strong woman.

My favorite character is Sydney’s sister, Jenny, who always offers the best advice. There is nothing like two sisters discussing their relationships! Jenny and Sydney have two very different lifestyles, but they are bonded with sisterly affection. It is Jenny who convinces her sister to give the man of her dreams a second chance. This book is not just about a second chance for Mac, but for Sydney as well. It is about second chances for each and every one of us!

A Second Chance is exactly what Mac needs and deserves. This is his story. Mac Ellis has gotten a lot of what he deserved. In his defense he was dealt a raw deal when his daughter dies shortly after her birth and his marriage starts to fall apart. His past has caught up with him in this book. He gets a book deal, meets the author, and has the feeling that he knows her. As he continues to work with her he realizes that he really does know her. He knows her very well. The author is his first love.

The Publicist series is one of my favorite. I have read all four book, listened to the first two, and am always anxious for the next to be released. While I have loved the series, A Second Chance closes out the series for me. I am good with letting it go. Everyone has found their happy place in their lives. When Christina asked me if I was #TeamNick or #TeamMac I was always #TeamMac. I hated his life choices, but needed him to be settled.

Christina George has done a great job with the entire series. I cannot imagine how hard it is to keep writing after you thought you were done with a set of characters. She has done a perfect job tying this story up. Ending it with a peak into everyone’s lives, showing how everyone has settled down and is living life.

I definitely recommend checking out this series.

I enjoyed reading this book by Christina George. I have never read a book from this author before, but I am so glad that I did. This is part of a series, but I had not read any of the previous books. It did not distract or cause any issues, though.

Mac Ellis was struggling with finding closure and success after a previous breakup. An opportunity arrives to compete for a new book that a CIA agent only publicly called as "The Wonder Woman" is writing. All publishing houses are competing for the right to sign the deal, and this would be a major win for Morris & Dean Publishing and help turn things around for the company.

Mac meets the CIA agent and things are not as simple as they seem. He feels Anne Sullivan is familiar but can't quite place her. Sparks fly that neither want to act upon, but they can hardly keep from imagining them.

Finally, Mac realizes who Anne/Sydney really is, and they spend time throughout the story remembering the past and thinking about a possible future. They must decide if a second chance is worth the risk of their heart.

Overall I really enjoyed the book. I actually read it in one sitting. I started to put it down, but just had to read on and see what was going to happen. Also, I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This is totally my opinion though. I look forward to reading more from this author.

When I started this book, I wasn't exactly sure what I was in for, as I haven't read the other books in the series. I received a copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review. But, as a lover of romance novels, I wanted to give it a try. I'm sure glad I did! I was thoroughly engaged from the very beginning of this book, and found that once I started reading I couldn't put the book down.
From the start Mac Ellis is a likable character and you feel for him when you find that he's had his heart broken. When his past begins to intertwine with his present life there is a spark of hope that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more. As most romantic novels have a somewhat predicable plot, I was surprised by some of the twists that the author included. The twists kept the plot interesting and kept the book from being just like every other novel. I love how the story flowed and the pace was fast moving. There was no time to get bored with the characters or what was happening, wishing that the author would just get on with it. It kept the story neat and clean.
Although I didn't find that the graphic sexual details were needed, they did not take away from the book and I would suggest this book to any mature friend. I look forward to reading more in this series, Christina George is a talented writer. I hope there is more about Mac Ellis in the future!

I have been a faithful reader of all the books in Christina George's Publicist series. This was shorter than all the previous books, but for an addition to the series, it worked very well. I was never on Team Mac, but it is good to see that there are happy endings for all the different characters. Having read the previous books, you learn to really love all the characters and what they bring to the overall story and while I wasn't Team Mac for Kate, I really liked that he has a second chance with his first love.

The storyline in A Second Chance was well-paced, though I felt like there are areas that could have been developed more. I would have loved to have had more meat to the story, even developing Sydney's character even more. I liked her and I would have loved to know even more about her.

I liked that the author threw in a couple of things about Nick and Kate for those of us that have read the whole series. It was a way to catch us up on them but not make the book about them

I am looking forward to more development of this series and am very curious to see who else the author chooses to spotlight as story leads. Thanks for another fun one!

Mac Ellis is just not himself since his latest breakup with his fiancée and ex employer Kate. Although the whole event had been two years ago, he was still stuck in a break up funk. He could not get his "Mac" mojo back. He was just generally unhappy. When opportunity rose in his career life to publish one of the most wanted books written by a top CIA personnel, back was elated to jump on that wagon. Little did he know, his past would be jumping right in that wagon with him.

Author Christina George has out done her self once again with this well- written and developed book 4 of The Publicist series. While the other books were of course great, there was always that lingering though of what happens next to the great Mac Ellis. Christina George has developed Mac's character in the previous books to be the charming, smooth, good looking guy, that any woman would love to have. Mac is no stranger to women, lots of them, and that is and will be his down fall, when he looks for love in all the wrong places.

But book 4 of The publicist series allows the reader to get to the more deep, sensitive, and true Mac Ellis, as he finally finds what he has
been looking for all along, love.

Overall, I was disappointed by A Second Chance. Even though I wasn’t exactly thrilled about the idea of a Mac Ellis redemption arc, I did my best to start the book with an open mind. However, after finishing Climax, the lengthy predecessor to this novel, the plot of A Second Chance just felt too rushed. (Slight spoilers ahead.) Through some luck and happenstance, Mac is renunited with Sydney, his high school sweetheart, and the two somehow fall in love again within what feels like a few weeks. While I found Sydney’s character compelling, she seemed undeveloped in comparison to Kate Mitchell, the female protagonist in The Publicist series. By the end of the novel, much of Sydney’s backstory remains unexplored, and Mac’s problems with infidelity are all-too-quickly explained away by the fact that he’s been reunited with his first true love. I will say that George does a great job of creating chemistry and romantic tension between the two characters, and their love scenes are well-written. While this may not be my favorite book in Christina George’s series, I look forward to her novels about Vivienne Lavigne and a young Allan Lavigne. I admit it... I never could decide if I was “Team Mac” or “Team Nick.” I loved both those characters in Christina George's Publicist series. And at the end of Book Three, I was disappointed in MacDermott Ellis when he couldn't seem to let go of his philandering ways.

In George's Publicist Book Four, “A Second Chance,” Mac has the opportunity to redeem himself. He accepts the position as editor for Morris and Dean, a publishing house that he had previously worked for. But Morris and Dean are failing miserably, and it's Mac's job to bring it back from the brink. In order to do that, he must secure a book deal with “Wonder Woman,” a CIA operative willing to tell her tale.

Sydney Sullivan, aka “Wonder Woman,” is no stranger to heartbreak. And no stranger to Mac. She's convinced that love and relationships aren't a good fit for her, especially considering her career. So, will she break down the barriers and let Mac in? Or will Mac once again be out in the cold?

“A Second Chance” is a heartwarming read that will lift your spirits!

A Second Chance is the story of Mac, a leading professional in the publishing business, becoming involved with his newest writer, Sydney. Sydney is a tough woman who works for the CIA, but more importantly she shares a past with Mac that throws huge complications at the two characters as they try to work together.

I was really excited to see that this book followed Mac’s story, he was definitely the character I had rooted for in previous books. Mac is still the charming strong lead, and I liked how this story fleshed out his past and brought him a new chance at changing the path the character had gone down in terms of how he saw and treated himself and the women he is involved with.

I also liked seeing just how tentative trust and love can be, even for two strong and capable lead characters. I thought the author did a really great job of bringing to life a relationship between two people who have a past together, and how in their reunion they had to redefine themselves. I think for people who wanted to see more of Mac, this is a great story.

A Second Chance, written by Christina George, is a wonderful story about two people coming together after being apart for many years. Mac Ellis, a successful and very handsome publicist, has a chance at publishing a once-in-a-lifetime book written by CIA agent Sydney Sullivan, aka Wonder Woman. Winning this client could turn his publishing company around. What he hadn’t realized was that she was a special part of his past. In this book, they are reunited. The author did a very good job of getting the reader to not only understand the two main characters, but also to love them. I really enjoy this series. This is a great “feel good” romance story that I did not want to put down. It is a great read for a rainy day when you just want to curl up with a good book. There are graphic sexual situations in this book so I would not recommend it for young readers, but I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance novel. I really do like Christina George writing and this series, plus the characters, but this eBook on Mac Ellis was to me too predictable and not much of a story. I felt the characters really didn't get to develop throughout this story. They were hardly given real life drama that happens in life, especially with Mac's new girlfriend, the CIA agent, Sydney. There could of been a lot of espionage and danger with the CIA agent for her to determine if she wanted to keep going on as a field agent or to leave that all behind to marry Mac. I would also like to say this eBook is only 155 pages, so you are not going to get much of a story line here just some romance with some sex thrown in. I would even call this eBook a novelette more than a book. Christina George is coming out with a book on Vivienne and her life. I know there is a great romance novel there, and Cristina will do it justice with her wonderful writing style with the characters from the previous books in the series.

I just love all of Christina George's books so I was excited to read this one. While this is technically book four in the series, it could be read alone for someone who does not want to go back and read the other three first (although I highly recommend the entire series). Mac is such a complicated character and it is so nice for him to have a chance to redeem himself and be happy. He was not my favorite character at the end of the last book, and this book really changed my mind about that. It made me realize that Mac is not a bad person, he is just complicated and is dealing with his own demons. There are some twists in this book that make it much more interesting than your standard romance.

I found this book to be an easy fun read. Great for summer vacations! I really enjoy Christina George's writing style overall and this installment did not disappoint. Whether you have read the first three books in the series or not, go ahead and pick this one up. You will not regret it!

After reading Climax, the 3rd book in the series, I was hesitant to read this one, not because I didn't like the character's, but because I was worried it would drag out. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this book read and it wrapped up any loose ends nicely.

It is a bit predictable, but not necessarily in a bad way. Christina George does a nice job of transforming Mac from a negative character into a positive one. There where, however, inconsistencies between this book and the last.

In this book it claims Sydney was always his first love, and his ex-wife wasn't a love interest until much later, while the previous book claimed that his ex-wife had been the love of his life when he first saw her.

I wish there had been a bit more character development on the part of Sydney, but that would have made this a longer book and I can understand her wanting to wrap up the series.

All in all it was a decent way to spend an afternoon.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. As soon as I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down. It was great to see a strong woman (Sydney) in the story line. Sydney chose to have a work life and never put her guard down for anything personal after her husband passed. That was until Mac came back into her life. Sydney started considering if she needed to stick with her work life or let in something she once had a long time ago, from her childhood.

Christina George makes this book such an easy read. I love the way she made you feel sympathy for Mac, since all he ever wanted was Sydney. Even guys need second chances. Mac helped Sydney have a life beyond work. I was hoping that the book would have gone into more details at the end. I wondered what happened with both Sydney's and Mac work life? Did Sydney stop going on CIA missions? Did Mac get to the top of his career again? Overall it was a great read and I hope there will be another book in this series to answer the questions I have above. :-)

Everyone deserves a happy ending. Even if Mac wasn't the best boss, husband, boyfriend or fiance he still deserves that second chance to get things right. Especially if it means meeting up with his first true love. I was never team Mac but Ms. George does a wonderful job of tying up the series and all the loose ends in this book as seamlessly as she wrote the rest of it. The story was well written, quick paced and it was great to see two people get back together after all they both had been through. She did a good job of explaining how Mac got to be the way he was without excuses or pity. But you also get to see a side of him that is vulnerable and romantic. And it seems "Wonder Woman" is just the strong, confident and yet vulnerable woman who he needs to get him back on track. Thanks Ms George for writing it up so neatly for us and giving us one more book! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve reviewed a few of Christina George’s books (namely, earlier books in The Publicist series, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed), and I absolutely love the way she uses her own background in publishing to write affecting, emotionally true characters in her novels. A Second Chance is no different.

In the fourth installment of The Publicist series, the focus is on Mac Ellis, the extraordinarily successful, sexy and whip-smart publisher and Kate’s former love interest. Mac encounters an opportunity to advance his career with a potential publishing contract with a CIA agent, known as Wonder Woman, but little does he know the attraction (and history) he has with Anne Sullivan…

A Second Chance is a speedy read, ideal for a day at the beach or poolside. If you’ve enjoyed previous works by Christina George, you’ll definitely love this one!
