Lia’s story!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😭😖😔😋🥰

The heroine: Lia - When the EMP hit, Lia’s brother was murdered, she was abducted, repeatedly raped and beaten, and later rescued and brought to Castle Creek Whitetail ranch where a group of ex Force Recon marines had built a home which is ready for the apocalypse.

The Heroes: Cam and Travis - Two of the crew of Jarheads that work and live on Castle Creek Whitetail ranch which was outfitted better than any of the doomsday preppers in the state. There are alternate power sources, enough food for years, bunkers and more.

“They were ready to ride out the apocalypse in style!”

The Story: Nine months after Lia was rescued from the clutches of the men that stole her and killed her brother and Lia is finally starting to move forward. Cam and Travis were the only men she really trusted all this time, she still can’t look the other men in the eyes, but she had come a long way.

Though most of the men in the compound set Lia on edge, but two of them set her on edge in a whole different way. She sees how devoted Graham and Zach are with Rowen and she wants that as well, with Cam and Travis. She just isn’t brave enough to go after it.

Like the first book, this one was told in dual points of view and dual narration and narrated by Elena Wolfe and Connor Crais who do a great job and have terrific voices. Connor’s voice is deep and gravelly which works great for the huge alpha males and Elena has a soft voice which fits Lia perfectly.

This one was Novella length, and I enjoyed the story. Unlike Graham and Zach who have shared many women in the past even before Rowen, Cam and Travis were best friends but had never shared a woman before. When they both figure they are interested in Lia, they can’t decide who should make a move on her and who should step aside. This story was definitely short and steamy.

4 Stars for Hard Charger: Flash Bang, Book 2 (audiobook) by Meghan March read by Elena Wolfe and Connor Crais.

It’s been nine months since the power grid went down and now Lia has made her way to a well fortified camp. Life is really changing for her as she copes with these new realities. She’s settling in and is attracted to the two former Force Recon Marines. Will she have to settle for one or can she have both in this new crazy world?

I was attracted to the cover immediately so I requested this on netgalley. It turned out to be something much different than I expected. This book was an end of the world, power outage, sort of book with a little bit of romance in it. Even though the writing style was nice, I was a bit confused as to the direction of the story. Is it an action suspense? Is it a romance? Is it menage? I didn't connect with the characters at all and I found myself skimming the last half of it. This definitely had a lot of potential, but it just didn't work for me.

When I requested Hard Charger on NetGallery I really didn’t look too much into the story. I was excited by first, the cover and second, the polyamorous love story that it promised me! So I was a little surprised to find this story took place in a sort of destroyed America. The power grid went out, our government and military aren’t to be trusted and new threats are everywhere. And although that is typically not my cup of tea, I really found that I enjoyed the developing love story of Lia, Cam and Travis.

The only thing that I wanted more of was info on Cam and Travis’s relationship. Why was Travis so inclined to want this type of relationship? Was there more than just their friendship and mutual love of Lia?

Overall this was an enjoyable, steamy read that although was short, was really well written.

If you've read and loved Flash Bang then you're definitely going to love this novella as well.

This story continues the one started in the previous novel and follows the life of Lia, Cam and Travis...so be prepared for more MFM romance and, of course, some hot sex :P

Spoilers ahead, 2.5*

This was Lia, Cam's and Travis's story. When the EMP went off Lia was home with her brother and went to a stream for water only to be attacked and kidnapped and her brother shot. She's abused by s group of hillbillies until she's rescued. Months later Lia is healing as Cam has been her light in the darkness. After her horrifying experience Lia never expected to want a relationship with not one man.....but two

Again this didn't work for me lol but I tried, why are the sexy times so lackluster?? It's a menage dammit it should be hot as hell!! Ugh
Cam was a bit reluctant as he hoped him and Lia would be a couple but he quickly gets on board with his best friend as the third in their little family
Travis wants Lia and when he sees Cam has yet to make a move he stated his intentions even if it means fighting his best friend for a chance at a relationship with Lia, luckily she wants them both
I liked Lia more than the previous h but given what she'd been through her reaction during sex was a bit surprising nevertheless this was an ok read

I think the meh sex scenes are what's holding me back from liking this series. I'm still interested in the h of book 1 sister's story though

★☆I received an RC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!!☆★

Lia. Remember her from bk1? She's the woman that Rowan "Ro" saw and our G.I Joe's (even though they're actually Marines) saved from those abusive rednecks.

Hard Charger is her story and follows the MFM formula of our heroine falling in love with two smexy Marine men.

After making a home at Castle Creek Whitetail Ranch, Lia still harbors that darkness and vulnerability from her previous ordeal, and yet.... she is becoming increasingly aware of her growing feelings and attraction for besties, Cam and Travis.

The feeling is mutual for said besties and the three find themselves in the very same predicament that Ro, Zach, and Graham had found themselves in book predecessor Flash Bang, while trying to make a new life together with your BFF and your gal.

As much as I would have loved to see more of Lia transitioning from her abuse to where she is now, beggars cannot be choosers as this is only a novella.

I'm hoping there is more Flash Bang books on the rise and for Jackson and perhaps Ro's sister, Erica, to have their own books! Maybe a coupling between the two! I still want one of Jonah and his wife, Allison, btw!! Aww, they're so cute! Would love to see them have their own baby together!! Hehe.

This was a fairly short, but well written little read. It was easy to read and I enjoyed it very much but I would have liked for it have been longer.

The story focuses on the relationship between three characters: Lia, Cam and Travis. The book is fast paced so you get to see their relationship develop quite quickly. I really wished it would have been longer, so that you could maybe of happened a bit more slowly. I just really want more of them!

Besides the romance in this book, you get slight glimpse into the world that they have been forced to live in. Society has gone dark and an apocalypse has taken over. This small group, made up mostly of ex-military men, have been able to forge out a facility for themselves to live in, safely away from the rest of civilisation where turmoil is taking place. Here, they have everything they need to survive and live in a comfortable fashion considering the circumstances.
You don't really get to learn much about the world they are in but, given that this is only a novella, it is enough to really pique my interest. I would love to know more.

Note: Flash Bang is also set in this world and involves characters that are seen in this book.

I am so glad that there was a novella followed the little cliff at the end of FLASH BANG. And I was happy that Lia was going to have her own story. We saw here go through something horrible after the grid went down and she needed time to heal and become comfortable in her new safer environment.

I liked Cam and Travis. They were friends, but both were interested in her. Cam was devoted to her from the first time he helped her, but was biding him time, and was so gentle and careful with her. And Travis was willing to fight for her or shake things up and give her a chance to make a choice. I liked that Lia started to come into her own.

This was a short novella without too much drama. I enjoyed getting more with Graham, Zack, Rowan and the rest of the group from FLASH BANG. And thankfully the mystery we were left with at the end of that one was revealed. I really enjoyed this world and would not hesitate to revisit it if she writes more. There are a few more characters I am putting together in my mind.

This is the second book in the Flash Bang series, a super-short m/f/m/ romance that is super sexy with a nice amount of heart.

I didn’t love the first book in this series, and wasn’t sure whether I was even going to read this one, but it was short, I already owned it, and my curious nature wasn’t going to let me get away without finishing the series (assuming that this is the final book). And I’m so glad I did!

There’s not much story to this one, since it’s assumed you will have already read the first and know that some mysterious ‘event’ has plunged the US into darkness, with no electricity and society breaking down. But deep in the woods there is a compound inhabited by a small group of ex-military men in what is, in reality, a doomsday prepper’s dream. They are settled in and secure, and they intend on keeping it that way.

In the last book, the boys rescued a woman from being brutalised. When Lia first came to them she was injured and in shock, almost catatonic from her experiences. But it’s been months, and she’s now settled and almost back to her true self, and she’s determined to claim the one thing she truly wants – Cam, the man who rescued her, and his best friend, Travis (because, if it’s ok for Rowan, Graham and Zach from the first book, Flash Bang, why not her?).

Cam has wanted Lia for a long time now, but he hasn’t made his move, waiting for her to be recovered from all that she’s been through, and ready for more. He knows his best friend is also interested, and he’s determined to fight to make Lia his. Until she suggests the three of them give things a try together. It’s nothing he’s ever considered, but Travis seems wildly keen, and he’s all about making the people in his life happy.

Lia, Cam and Travis have all seen the other m/f/m trio in the compound find happiness together, so they figure they should give it a try for themselves. And so, we get this tentative, but eager relationship forming, and it’s sexy, easy, natural, with emotion that I could feel, and I really enjoyed watching these three come together.

This is a really short book, and there’s no time for any drama or drawn-out angst which I really appreciated, because that was my big issue with the first book. Things move quickly and easily, but I thought the relationship was much more believable than the first book – I would imagine their doubts and fears are pretty spot-on for anybody in their situation - and I really enjoyed their story.

The series is set up for more books, but since it’s been so long since these ones were published, I’m assuming Meghan March has moved on and won’t be revisiting this world. I’d definitely be interested in reading more if she ever did return though.

Hard Charger was a very quick read about Lia - who had a pretty horrific experience in Flash Bang, getting her HEA with her guys. I liked Cam and Travis - the scene where they decided who was going to be the man for Lia made me LOL. A hot, sweet novella.

Hard Charger is the second STANALONE in Meghan March's Flash Bang series—which is a post-apocalyptic world, wherein the power grid has failed, the government has crumbled, and the world is slowly but surely falling to pieces.

And hidden from it all, on a compound in the middle of nowhere, is a group of Marines—who have built a facility to protect themselves and their loved ones from the horrors of the now-frantic civilization. Each of the books in the Flash Bang series, tells the different characters' tales of love, life, and survival.

In this particular novella—Hard Charger—centers around Lia, Cam, and Travis. Their relationship is short and sweet; it did move fast, but thankfully there was just enough back-story between the characters for their feelings to remain believable.

But I have to admit I wished I would've witnessed Lia's inital months at the compound. In Hard Charger we see her as the healed woman she is, but I would've liked to see her transformation from scared victim to strong survivor—as well as her growing trust in Cam and Travis.

I loved the contemporary, post-apolitical element to this book—but, unfortunately, since this was a novella, you don't really learn too much of the world they now live in. Although it did spike my interest, and I will most definitely be checking out the other books in this series.

Overall, Hard Charger (Flash Bang, #2) was an really good, sweet ménage romance with just the right amount of heat between the sheets. (;

*PS: I was given an ARC of this book from NetGalley. But I do solemnly swear that I am up to...good on Goodreads. ;) This is a fair and honest review of this book. Pinky promise.*

I think I expected so much more from this story, and I was actually kind of disappointed by how short it was. The whole story felt very two dimensional, because there was no depth to it whatsoever. We are told that the grid went out, but we don't get into any explanation about what is going on other than that. When something like that happens to the world, you want to know more and expect there to be plenty of conflict in the story. Regretfully, that wasn't true with this story. I'm always interested in post-apocalyptic type stories, so the plot for this one definitely fell short for me.

The relationship between the three main characters is presented to us in kind of a fragmented way. We skip past all of the relationship building moments, and just get to the sex with very little conversation or development of the relationship between them all. It left me unable to connect with the characters or be invested in their relationship. We also never get a true climax to the story despite being alluded to an issue with the government. Nothing at all really develops in this story beyond the three of them finally admitting feelings and having sex.

Overall, it just felt like this story was rushed and incomplete. I wanted so much more than was delivered, and I honestly think it could have been so much better with further development. I liked what little I got to know about the characters, so I think if the story were fleshed out more this would be a great read. I wanted to rate it higher, but I just couldn't given the numerous issues.

Lia has know darkness like no one else. Lia was kidnapped the day the the plane crashed into Chicago and the grind came down, she was rapped, beating and watched her brother die before her eyes. When the Cam & Travis the sexy marines saved her from her hell and she is now a survivor. Does Lia for the first time have a chance of happiness?

Cam & Travis are best friends and for the first time there is tension between them because of a woman they both want. Cam thinks Lia is too fragile to handle but Travis believes she is strong and can handle anything. Cam & Travis decides to fight for the rights to claim Lia but Lia is not having it.

Lia stops the fight and tells them what she wants. It has been 9 months to a year and Lia is feeling herself come back from the horrible ordeal that happen to her. Now she wants everything. Lia see how Graham & Zach treats Ro and she jealous of the attention. Can Lia live a happy ever after with these guys who saved her or deny her feelings?

Hard Charger didn’t have much of a plot and was way too short. I wish the author had delved more into the post-apocalyptic side of the story. I was a but disappointed with it only because it was so, so short. There was no character development or anything. I really think Ms. March could have extended it a bit. It lacked the same spark as book one. I listened to the audiobook version and as with the first book in the series I enjoyed the narration performances of Elena Wolfe and Connor Crais.

Największą rolę grały emocje i uczucia bohaterów.

To dokładnie ten typ książki, o którym mogłabym mówić godzinami.

Jeśli jesteście fanami trójkątów miłosnych i szukacie krótkiej, ale wciągającej historii, w której romans gra główną rolę, bez skomplikowanej fabuły, polecam wam „Twardą sztukę”.

I needed this short story for Lia. It was a quick read, and because Flash Bang set up most of the world building and did the set up for this story, it didn't need to be long to tell a good story. Lia's ordeal before arriving at the compound was months ago. She has spent the time learning to trust the men she is now living with and healing from her emotional scars. But now she is feeling like it is time to move ahead and would like a relationship with 1 or 2 of the men in the compound if only she can get them to notice her. What she doesn't realize is that both men have noticed her but are worried she isn't ready yet.

The pace of this story was rather quick, with Lia's healing taking place off the page. It was a relative slow burn (for a short story), but when things heat up they go all the way to 11.

Narrated by Elena Wolfe and Connor Crais, Hard Charger by Meghan March, is a follow-up to Flash Bang and gives is Lia’s story from the first book. These books do have to be read/listened in order but will captivate you.

Lia has grown from the woman who was rescued and was weak and lost. Now she knows what she wants, but not exactly how to get it. After the darkness she faced, will Cam and Travis accept what she desires so much? She has seen how a triad can work and all she wants is that with Cam and Travis. It was great seeing how far Lia has come and how much Travis and Cam want her. The story was quick, steamy and great to see old friends again.

Happy listening!

This is Lia's story, from when she was broken to her glow up.

Lia is brought to the compound broken and scared. The world around her collapsed and the world within her collapsed too. The compound brings her hope. Yet everyone treats her like a child. That's not what she wants or what she feels. When she speaks up, two men make a claim on her and she isn't sure how she will respond or how she will be able to handle all this.

Cam and Josh are just as stunned at Lia when they realize that they are making a claim on her and will be a big family!

Though this book has less pages then Flash Bang it packs just as much steamy heat.

Lia has spent the past 9 months fighting her way back to the light after the darkness and hell she fell into when the power grid failed. 9 long months in a ranch full of big, strong alpha males and 2 in particular have caught her eyes. Cam and Travis saved Lia from being chained up like a dog and nearly unconscious. They watched her slowly come out of her shell and are afraid to make a move for what they want in case it might scare her.

Lia is tired of being look at as weak. She is tired of jumping at every noise or shadow. She wants her life back and she wants both Cam and Travis together. While coming as a surprise for Cam, Travis kind of figured this might be the way forward after watching how Lia looked longingly at her friend Ro and what she shared with her guys. And after making up her mind Lia doesn't want to wait and take things slow.

From Cam trying to decide is he can really give Lia want she want to Travis fighting for everyone to be happy together, Meghan takes you alongside them as a new way of life is built. From climbing out of the dark to fighting over who gets the girl to wanting everything and being happy together. You feel the fear, the indecision, the wanting, the desire.

Flash Bang and Hard Charger were both great reads. Meghan March did an outstanding job of providing love stories taking place in the midst of an apocalypse. Other stores I've read in this sub-genre spent a lot of time detailing the apocalypse itself but these two focused primarily on the characters and the romances they developed.

Flash Bang was filled with a passion that was timeless. Not just between a man and a woman; but a sassy, independent and strong willed woman and two hot and sexy Marines that happen to be the best of friends.

With just a few days in, Rowan finds herself stumbling into a hunting compound run and inhabited by ex-military. Graham and Zach immediately want to claim her and share her and keep her forever.

With these alpha males and the quick wit that oozes from Rowan, I couldn't help but be glues to this story from beginning to end. It was a very well rounded story filled with characters that I couldn't help but love.

Hard Charger is a great novella that tells the story of Lia that takes place several months after Flash Bang ended. Lia was introduced in Flash Bang when she was rescued from redneck hillbillies taking full advantage of the chaos that ensued when the apocalypse began. She suffered abuse that utterly broker her spirit. But thanks to the attention of two other sexy Marines (Cam and Travis), she's begun to make her way back to who she was before everything happened.

Seeing the Ro, Graham and Zach Triad on a daily basis; she's grown envious of the relationship they share and finally gets the courage to admit it to Cam and Travis. The funny thing is that this wasn't what Cam had in mind but Travis is all "gung-ho" about it. Eventually they form a bond just as strong as their neighboring trio and together manage to not only grow closer but provides more of the story that surrounds them and their plans for surviving Dooms Day.

Both we very entertaining and quite enjoyable.
