Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) was an American writer, editor, creator of comic book superheroes, and the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.

With several artist co-creators, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Thor as a superhero, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Daredevil, the Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scarlet Witch, The Inhumans, and many other characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. He subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.

The Avengers arrive! But has the damage done by the Hulk/Thing battle already 'lost' the fight for public opinion? One of the first stories that gives you the 'guy on the street' perspective of a SH battle. This is the book that really kind of establishes H as the 'winner' in the who is stronger contest with the T...but it does not end here!

The Avengers take over! As the Hulk continues to rampage, the Thing bravely battles him once again, to be interrupted by the now recovered Human Torch. As the battle is waged and lost, the Hulk disappears and emerges at the Avengers headquarters and sees his ex-team members waiting for him! After the Avengers inability to stop the mad Hulk, they are intercepted by the Fantastic Four! So, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four team up to stop the Hulk, although it doesn't go quite so smoothly at first! This was a pretty cool story where the FF and Avengers meet for the first time and team up. I'm excited to read more comics like this and hope to see another awesome team up!

The Avengers awkwardly team with the Fantastic Four to take on this full on evil Hulk.
Reed gets back to full strength as the antidote works..
A number of future issues deal with Ben's co existence with his alter ego.

FF + Avengers

First meeting of the FF and the Avengers vs the Hulk, Kirby and Lee again...brilliant, Capt. America shows some cool battle prowess going toe to toe with the Hulk.

La copertina annuncia il cossover tra gli Avengers e i Fantastici Quattro: evento dell'anno.
Il volume riprede con il proseguo dello contro tra Hulk e La Cosa. Intanto vediamo che gli altri componenti dei F4 sono in ospedale. Johnny, nonostante gli acciacchi, lascia l'ospedale per raggiungere Ben e lottare contro Hulk, che continua a battersi con scioltezza e a vincere contro tutti.
Hulk riesce ad arrivare alla casa degli Avengers, dove trova tutti i suoi ex-compagni e anche il suo ex-amico Rick Jones, che intanto è diventato l'aiutante di Capitan America. Inizia così lo scontro, mosso dalla vendetta di Hulk, che si sente tradito.
Intanto in ospedale i F4 sono guariti e possono riunirsi per tornare in azione e andare in soccorso degli Avengers. I due gruppi di supereroi inizialmente si intralciano per sbaglio tra loro (sembrano dei cretini sprovveduti), ma poi riescono a collaborare per battersi contro Hulk, finché non riescono a ritrasformarlo in umano.
Nessuno scopre l'identità del Gigante di Giada perché nel momento della trasformazione era in mare, finisce a largo e perdiamo le sue tracce.
Povero Hulk.

The Hulk vs everybody

Part 2 of a two part thriller. If you thought the Hulk vs the Thing last issue was epic then how about the Hulk vs both the FF4 and the Avengers. Another instant silver age classic. Again illustrated by the legendary Jack Kirby. Superheroes galore. Stan was integrating all the characters of Marvel into a shared universe. This issue was a prime example. Can you imagine being a kid seeing this on a comic rack back in the early 60’s? DC comics didn’t stand a chance with comic books like this one. All the favorite characters in one issue.

I hate how they just give up once they see the Hulk take a dip in the river. They didn't even just try and walk to the docks and maybe have the slightest chance of finding out where he might go next-- but nah... the Hulk's "secret identity" NEEDS to be preserved!!!!!!!!

At first I was a little bored, but dammit, there's something so exciting about seeing Captain America, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing and the Human Torch all fighting together.

La segunda parte del enfrentamiento contra Hulk, trajo consigo a Los Vengadores, los cuales trabajan por primera vez con los Cuatro Fantásticos en una batalla. Aunque al principio fue difiícil que se pusieran de acuerdo, al menos pudieron contener a Hulk.
