Ashley Suzanne has been writing as long as she can remember. As a youngster, she was always creating stories and talking to her imaginary friends. Thankfully, her parents also carried this love of fiction, and helped her grow into the writer she is today.

Ashley is a bestselling author and spends equal amounts of time writing and reading. Being the true book whore she is, Ashley would rather dive into a good book before going out of her house. Giving up her career in Real Estate, Ashley has officially moved to hermit status.

When Ashley isn't coming up with her next story, you'll most likely find her on the couch with a kindle in her hand (probably watching some crappy reality show while , annoying her husband by telling him all about her new book boyfriend or spending quality time with her two gremlins ... Sorry, I mean adorable children.

You can find Ashley on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and/or her blog.

*****ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***** I love books where the hero is a fighter..... So excited as this is a MMA fighter book :)

I read Cutter (Fight or Flight #2) by Ashley Suzanne without reading Raven first – which is no problem as they can be read separate – and other then facing the obvious ending of Raven you will have no problems in understanding the plot.

In the beginning of the book Cutter goes back thinking how he ended up being where he was. Usually I am no fan of “thinking back” chapters but those were well done, because there was no annoying present / past / present / past switching which I totally dislike.

Cutter is a great guy that basically does everything right from page one, which is interesting as usually “your average male lead” has to at least make one big mistake for a story to pick up in its pace. I really liked the way his character was created.

Garret and Rian from book one (obviously) were great “supporting acts” in this book and I also liked them a lot – which makes me believe that I will go back (when I find the time) and read the first book too.

You wonder why I did not mention Jo ? the female lead in this book ? … well lets put it this way… If she would cancel her appearance or if there would be at least one real blow up from Cutter and an realization from her that felt real– that book would be a 5 star read.

Can someone hate a book character ? I am not sure – but if so … she just made my list.

If this book would have been about a BDSM relationship – I would have said Jo is a DOM and Cutter her SUB. Because when it comes to her he is not only BLIND but also glutton for punishment.

I try to be polite in my reviews most of the time but this female lead was just such a selfish bitch – bending her realities the way she liked them.

And Cutter was so in love with her that she could do and say anything and he would forgive her anytime. And if for one second it looked like he finally found courage to give her a piece of his mind (well deserved) she started crying and he was going all sappy again.

I would need to go deep into details and spoiler to explain where I am coming from. But trust me it is not just one tiny thing she said or did that made me come up with my judgement and his behavior towards her felt unrealistic (or I hope at least that it is unrealistic).

So those are my reasons for giving a 5 star plot idea only 3 stars.

This is my first book in the Fight or Flight novel by Suzanne and I really got into the story and the characters. This book was definitely different from all other MMA books out there and that's what kept me wanting to read the story of Josette and Cutter.

Josette and Cutter become good friends. These two really get along the more time they spend together but of course that only lasts so long before they are moving their friendship to the bedroom. Neither of them are ready for a serious relationship and are comfortable with their arrangement. Jo knows that their could be so much more between them but she knows it's only a matter of time before he leaves her behind for his career. Jo decides before he leaves to cut things off between them even though it hurts her greatly.

Cutter spent majority of his life alone and hasn't had a real family until Garrett and Rian take him in. He spent his time working in their gym and wants to become a fighter and meets Jo. Cutter is completely head over heels for her but wants more as their relationship starts to grow. Until one day she ends up pregnant and decides to have an abortion. Cutter says it's her choice but he feels sad about her decision. When he is about to leave to become the fighter he wants to be he finds out Jo is gone and even though he tries to contact her many times nothing comes from it. The story then picks up to a few years later and some surprises are in store for the both of them.

What I really loved about these two characters was the progress of their emotional involvement towards one another. While reading you can see the changes they were both going through and while their paths might have been different they were more then lovers they were best friends.
These two had great chemistry and passion and were both well written.

As the story starts to unfold I found myself wondering if and when these two would see each other again. Also what it would be like when they came face to face after years with no contact. Would they pick up where they left or would it no matter to either of them? I was surprised by the secrets and the betrayals that came to the surface but without them I wouldn't have enjoyed this read so much.

Suzanne is a new author to me and I can say after reading this story she has a new fan. I enjoyed her writing style and liked how I couldn't put this down and wanted more. Already I am looking for future books from her. I really wanted to give this book a 3.75 and really wish goodreads would add half stars to their ratings. If you're looking for a different type of fight romance reads I would check this one out!

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

I'm pretty sure Niche and Kar are in some kind of experimental phase, screwing their way through all the morons they run across. I'm hoping it passes quickly. No offense - you seem like a nice guy - but your friends are dumb as dirt.

When you tell me someone works with numbers, I automatically picture some frumpy old dude with a terrible toupee, not a sexy-as-sin woman like Josette.

Her eyes light up and her smile widens so big I can count the cavities on her molars.

You are the next chapter in my life, Jo. I have everything else I could ever want. I've achieved every dream I've ever had. You're the one thing missing.

He is my favorite person in the history of ever, and sometimes I get choked up thinking about how much he loves me.

My Review:

Shortly after starting Cutter, I had to groan - it was as if the author gathered every one of my least favorite tropes and put them together in a cauldron. Yet, I could not stop reading... which is a verification of Ms. Suzanne's exceptional writing skills. I remained engaged, entertained, and engrossed throughout this sensual story that swung back and forth from humorous to angsty. I enjoyed the clever banter, amusing observations, and humorous insights that were liberally sprinkled throughout.

You know that teen like happy squeal you do when things go your way...I'm making that noise right now.

I just finished Cutter. I may not like his name or his past but I have a huge crush on Cutter. This is one of those stories that makes you feel good all the way through. Yes, bad things happen but you just seem to know it will all work out.

So my happy squeal and I were enjoying the very last words of the book. I enjoyed the sentiment....

Where love’s concerned, there is no end, just unbelievable new beginnings . . . so . . . this isn’t the end, but just another new start

Sigh... Yup, great read. What are you waiting for? Buy it already.

Great writing, but just not the story for me. DNF at 35%

While I didn't read the the first book in this series, I do not feel that anything was lost and this book can totally be read as a standalone. That being said I will probably go back and read Raven because Garrett and Rian's story looks like it's a good one.

Josette and Cutter are the main characters in this story and boy oh boy was it an interesting one. I don't want to give to much away but I will tell you there is a HUGE secret that Josette keeps from Cutter and WOW..just WOW, when it is revealed all parties are stunned by the fact that she hid something like this from everyone.

I really enjoyed the way the author Ashley Suzanne gave us Cutter's back story first so we knew about his life before he met Josette, I felt it made me understand so much more about him then just skipping over it and adding a line or two in somewhere during the story.
Their story took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride, I went from happy, to sad, to angry, and a whole lot of other emotions while reading this, I would suggest keeping a box of tissues near by because you will probably need them at some point during the book.

Let it be known that I will read anything Ashley Suzanne puts out. Couple that with the reappearance of my favorite of her characters, Garrett and Rian and it was a match made in reading heaven. Cutter gave me everything I love in a book- humor, steam, a touch of drama and main characters who grow as the story progresses.

I liked Cutter from the first time I met him- a touch desperate and a whole lot of hopeful. Hopeful that he would soon find something better for himself than he's had for quite some time. Enter Garrett- who gives this lost boy the chance he has been seeking. Which, in turn, leads him to meet his best friend Josette. I loved the relationship between these two. It gave them both something they didn't know they were missing- and I'm not just talking about in the bedroom (though that came later). But when push came to shove, they knew deep down that what they were feeling was more than friendship, it was love. And because they loved each other, they never would keep the other from seeking and pursuing their dreams.

Flash forward a few years and Cutter is once again feeling lost in life, his career while flourishing, leaves him wanting more. So he decides to return to the only home he's ever known. Well is ever in for a shock when Josette just happens to be at Rian and Garrett's when he gets there. WOW!! Can't say I saw that little twist coming- especially from the way things were left between the two of them years ago. The surprise brought out Cutter's inner fighter. He now had something and someone to fight for. I loved seeing him go to work and after what he wanted- Josette and their chance to get it right this time.

While Cutter is far from your typical fighter romance, it is a great fast-paced read nonetheless. I flew through the pages because I just had to know what would become of Josette and Cutter once they were back in each others lives. I let out a little "whoop" of joy when they started to finally go after the same thing. It wasn't easy- there were tough choices to be made and hard conversations to be had. It wasn't going to be easy to get past the years of longing, deceit and hurt but if anyone could do, it was these two. Ashley Suzanne took me for quite the ride and left me wanting to go again when all was said and done.

1-1/2 stars. But I'll round up since you can't give 0 stars on goodreads and I didn't want this to be the equivalent of a DNF. #logic

This review is also posted on Pretty Sassy Cool.

I like fighter stories and was intrigued as soon as I saw this pop up on NG. This story was okay. It basically begins with a crazy case of #instalove

instalove disapproval

Now, I'm a fan of instalove in certain cases. But here, I just didn't get it. Anyway, Cutter and Josette fall in love and when he's getting ready to go on the fighting circuit, she breaks up with him. There's other stuff that happens that may be a trigger for some people and some crazy drama, and the two lose touch for a few years. Fast forward to the present and they see each other again. Josette was keeping something huge from Cutter. Will they be able to get over their pasts and the secrets and find love?

I hated Josette. I mean I literally hated her. I don't want to give away anything that happens in this story, but I seriously wish Cutter had just dropped her. Ugh. Since I didn't get the whole appeal in the first place, I just couldn't connect with these characters' story. Also, I can't believe that Garrett and Rian didn't tell Cutter what was going on. Anyway, I just didn't like this book. If you want my opinion, I say skip it.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

Cutter comes from an abusive past. When he ran away he had no where to go, but he knew he couldn't be at home any longer. He found the safest spot he could, a gym. When the owner finds him, Cutter expects the worst, but for some reason the owner, Garrett gives Cutter a chance. A place to live and a job. When he meets Josette on his twenty first birthday, he knows from the moment he meets her that she is someone he wants in his life. Josette doesn't want a relationship so they agree to be friends...that eventually turns into more.

Cutter's fighting career takes off and takes him to Vegas. When he takes a break and comes home three years later he's shocked to see Josette at Rian's baby shower.

I really enjoyed the story line and characters. I found Cutter to be swoon worthy, but at about the half way point I wanted to murder Josette. She is definitely a character I grew a to have serious hate for. I get why she did what she did, but she still drove me nuts with her excuses.

This is the first book in the series that I read. I am excited to go back and read book one. I can't wait to see what's next from this author.

Another winner for Ms. Ashley. I read the first book in this series and this book is just as good. Cutter had a bad childhood and when he ran away he just knew he had to get away from home. When caught breaking into a gym to stay warm he would have never thought his life would change for the better than. When he is offered a warm bed and a food in exchange for a job he is speechless, Garrett who we met in Raven has a great heart and saw good in the kid. Cutter who was determined to do right by Garrett ends up in his ring to help a fighter out and ends up with another surprise. When he leaves town to pursue this adventure his girlfriend unexpectly breaks up with him. What he doesn't know is that Josette is keeping a secret from him and when he returns years later he stumbles upon the truth. Can the damage be repaired on all ends or did Josette totally end things for them. Great read! Honest review in exchange for ARC.
The characters are great in the book, draw you in right away

Cutter by Ashley Suzanne was a first time read for me. Cutter is the second book in the fight or Flight series, and can be read as a standalone read. I really enjoyed reading Cutter the writing was excellent, the pacing was mostly strong and good. The story captivated my attention from beginning to end. Cutter is a MMA fight book and is the story of Cutter and Josette. Cutter didn't have an easy time growing up. He found himself homeless and breaking into a gym so he had a safe place to sleep. Until he gets caught by Garrett. But getting caught turned his life around. Cutter finally has family with Garrett and Rian. Until he meets Josette at a bar on his twenty first birthday. Josette was standoffish and used Cutter to make a creepy guy think he was her boyfriend. They start out as friends but Cutter soon wants more. Josette would keep secrets from cutter, and would constantly come up with excuses for her bad behavior. I love MMA books however there was not much fighting in this book but overall it was a good read.

DISCLAIMER TO THOSE READING MY REVIEW:
This review is my personal opinion, it may contain swearing, quotes, rants, and spoilers!!!
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK....

Cutter and Jo meet one night at a bar and become best friends. From there their relationship goes onto friends with benefits. Cutter is a young guy trying to get into the fighting circuit and Jo is a college student getting ready to go for her masters. When she ends up accidentally pregnant right before he is to leave to attend fight training camp she decides that she is going to get an abortion.
Years latter Cutter comes home to be with the only family he has and man oh man does he get some surprises!!!!
I really enjoyed the story line and the characters. Jo for me could be kind of annoying at times, but I really enjoyed Cutter's character. With this book you will get lots of drama, some seriously steamy scenes, and a whole lot of dominate alpha male!!

Excellent addition to the series. This is the second in the Fight or Flight series but it is easily read standalone. This one is Cutter's story and it's an excellent one. It will have your emotions all over the place and leave you happy. Josette and Cutter are a great couple and even though they go through some very tough times, you just know they were meant to be together. I really like the way the author gave us Cutter's backstory up front and then moved on with the story in the present. Drives me nuts when the story flips past to present so this was a great way to present it. The backdrop of the story is the MMA fighting world but the actual story has little to do with MMA. This is a book I would recommend to everyone.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Okay, so I liked Cutter and Jo...I did. They were clearly focused on being best friends and their attraction got the better of them, forcing to realize that the friendship might actually be the basis for something bigger. But I had problems with some of the elements. In a more technical case, Suzanne goes back and forth in time and it takes some getting used to the rhythm to realize when it's present day and when it's 3 years ago. I was reading and advanced copy, so I'm not sure if that was corrected in the file version.

I'm going to finish my overall thoughts because there are hefty spoilers below. All in all, I enjoyed the read - it's not as heavy into the MMA as I was worried about and I loved the way Garrett and Rian were with Cutter. I'm interested enough to go back and read their story.

SPOILERS BELOW

My bigger issue is that this book features a trope that makes me absolutely cringe - the hidden baby trope. For Jo to keep the baby after telling Cutter she was getting an abortion was absolutely awful and the fact that he was able to forgive as quickly as he did? That didn't add up for me.

The minute Josette Morelli meets Cutter Greer she knows there is something special brewing between them, something that maybe more than just a simple friendship, but neither of them are really ready for a serious relationship. But keeping things just friends becomes a lot harder than they anticipated, and it quickly turns into more, and the heat that has been brewing between them spawns a hot little relationship between the sheets. Jo knows that there is potential for something more serious, but with Cutter's career taking off, she knows it's just a matter of time before he leaves her behind for his dream in the ring. So she does what she thinks is the most logical thing for them and walks away, and it crushes them both...

Cutter Greer has spent the better part of his life alone, he has always longed for a family and the minute he meets the Garrett and Rian, he knows he's finally found the family unit he has needed all these years. Spending his time working in their gym spawns a desire to become a fighter, now he just needs the skill set to go along with the dream. So, he dedicates all his time to training and begins to earn himself a promising chance at a career in fighting. When he meets a beautiful girl in a bar, and comes to her rescue he never expects it to turn into anything more, but they soon find they run in the same circles, so a friendship is inevitable. He looks forward to spending time with Jo and soon realizes what he feels for her is more than just a simple friendship, but he also knows he's not ready for love and marriage, so he settles for some time between the sheets. Just when he thinks things for them are moving in the right direction, Jo plugs the plug on their relationship and he is lost... not only did he lose his best friend but also the woman he loves!

This was a first read for me, and I have to say I loved it, Jo and Cutter's story grabbed my attention from the get go and managed to hold me hostage until the last page was turned. Their story spoke volumes to me, each and every word laced with intensity, passion, and feeling, it grabbed me by the heart and had me hanging onto their every word. After reading the synopsis I knew it would be one that would tug at my heartstrings, and true to my thought it turned out to be quite a powerful and moving read that hit me deep, and left me breathless on several occasions... and that means a lot in my book! Ms. Suzanne definitely won me over with this one, and turned me into a fan, I looked forward to reading more from her in the very near future!

This was definitely a memorable first read for me, and one I highly recommend you add to your reading list! You will not be disappointed!

This was a tricky review to write. I read the book once and sat there thinking ok.... now what do I say about. Finally I had to set it aside to come back to. I re-read it again about two weeks later hoping I could get a better handle on what I felt about the story. So, here is what I came up with. There are positives and negatives and overall it was an ok read. Did I feel it could have been better... yes, did I think it was a bad story... no.
First off I like the idea of the story from the blurb. Cutter goes through hard times, becomes an MMA star. Jo and Cutter fall for each other before he hits the big time but Jo lets him go so he can reach his dreams....but is their connection enough to make them fight for each other.... ok, that description along with the cover and I am intrigued. Granted this wasn't a plot I had never heard or read, but it's one I enjoy so I was excited. These two met young and it was fast and furious, hot and heavy. Awesome. Then, the unexpected happens and Cutter is rising in the ranks and Jo doesn't want to hold him back.
Now, this is where it took a real dive for me. I see where the author was going with the reasons Jo didn't tell Cutter her big secret, but the delivery and the chain of events after, fell to pieces. Then, when the two meet up again later because of meddling loved ones, not because either of them tried to find the other, the story seemed to take a giant step back. For me it seemed like the characters took a giant leap back to being young teens, instead of the people they should have been after the lives they had lived and the maturity they should have gained since being apart. Jo to me was juvenile because she couldn't seem to see what she had done to Cutter by keeping her secret and Cutter was a fired up he-man trying to make demands he didn't have the right to make.
So the love story I so wanted to find fell very flat. The characters did not grow like I felt they should have. I think with some changes it could have been an excellent story. Yes things work out in the end, yes there are sweet and very sexy passionate parts, but it just didn't make it past "ok" for me. It's not a story I will remember down the road.

Review can be read at It's About The Book

I’ve read several MMA and boxing novels the last few years, and you often don’t get much more alpha male than that. This story started out with a love story gone wrong, with best friends getting together and then that unforeseen event happens and one decides to break up because it’s better for the other person. We all know how well that works out, right? Because who doesn’t love someone else making decisions for them?

Rosette couldn’t shake a creeper when she was out at a bar with friends, so she hatched an idea. Her friends were hooking up with two guys who happened to have a third friend along. Maybe if she had a large, strong guy acting as her boyfriend, the creeper would leave her alone?

Cutter couldn’t believe this gorgeous girl was asking him to pretend to be her boyfriend. He’d already picked her as the prettiest girl there and had intended to introduce himself. Luckily they hit it off and spent the night talking. Coincidences kept pushing them together, and from a great friendship grew a love. But when Cutter gets a chance to fight in Vegas, he’s ready to go. Since they’d decided they’d stop being lovers whenever that became inconvenient, now seemed like the time.

Secretly? Neither wanted to, but the timing was really off. He needed to be in Vegas; she had a job in Lexington. So when Cutter left, he was devastated by a note from Josie, dumping him. What gives? He’d thought at least they always be friends?

Cut away to more than three years later. After being incredibly successful in Vegas, Cutter is exhausted and homesick. Taking a break, he returns to Lexington fit the first time since he’d left.

Guess what? There have been some changes.

Sweet and emotional, this book circles familiar tropes and makes them fresh again. Enjoy meeting and getting to know Josette and Cutter!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Loveswept for graciously providing this ARC in exchane for an honest review.

This is the first story I have read from this author and I just have to say…. I need to get my hands on the book before this!!!

This was a story of love lost and found again. One of second chances. A story of lies and a story of forgiveness. The secondary characters in the book are extremely likeable and loyal. They help to make Cutter the man he is.

Even though this is the second book in the series I had no problem following along so it can be read as a standalone.

I love how the story developed between Cutter and Josette. When meeting they are both pretty unsure of themselves and are leary about forming a relationship so they decide to be friends… Best Friends. Which, then leads to friends with benefits. They plan to cut things off if feelings start to develop. Cutter and Jo really have a great chemistry together and throughout the story their characters grow and mature.

When Cutter gets his chance of a life time to enter the big time MMA world, he and Josette find them selves with a dilemma that could change their lives. Josette makes a big choice in her life and decides to cut Cutter from her life and asks him to contact her again. Then the story picks up 3 years later when they come face to face with one another again.

My reason for a 4 rating is because I think Cutter was TOO macho? Is that a thing? I’m not sure but he came off a little forceful when he returned. I don’t know how I feel about Josette all the time and that I may not agree with her decision, those things happen but still it irked me. Lastly, the little girl I thought was way too advanced for a 2 almost 3 year old. I get you want to make kids extremely verbal but it didn’t come off as real to me.

This is the second book in the Fight or Flight series by this author. Unfortunately I didn’t read the first one, but after reading this one I will definitely go and read Garrett and Rian’s story. Don’t worry though; you don’t have to read the first one to enjoy this book. For me this book started off a little slow. It starts in the present, goes back to the past, and then back to the present. Once it went back to the present it started picking up. Cutter has always had a hard life. But once he meets Garrett and Rian, things changed for the better. On his 21st birthday, Cutter meets Jo. As their romance blooms, so does his career as a MMA fighter. If he has a chance to make it big, he knows he has to move to Vegas. Just before he leaves for Vegas, Jo finds out she is pregnant. She thinks the best thing to do is have an abortion. Although Cutter is not happy, he never says anything to Jo because he feels it is her decision. But because of a mistake at her pre-natal appointment, once she hears the baby’s heart beat she knows she cannot go through with the abortion. She decides to break thinks off completely with Cutter. She thinks it will be best for him to reach his dreams. Cutter is devastated but he moves on. But after three years, MMA has lost some of its appeal. So Cutter decides it is time to go home. Imagine his surprise when he meets Bethany; his daughter. Needless to say he is angry at Jo for keeping this from him. I liked Cutter as a character but Jo not so much. She always seemed to have an excuse as to why she kept Bethany a secret from Cutter. Slowly they work through their issues to become a family. Overall a solid story. I loved the ending. I like when the author lets you “see” how their lives turned out years after they are together. Hope there is a story between Bethany and Greg?

Thanks to Netgalley and random house loveswept for my ARC
It was more of 3 1/s stars.

Cutter was abandoned by his mother and looking for place to stay overnight. When he was trying to sneak into a gym, he gets caught by the owner Garrett. Garret must have seen something in Cutter, he offers an apartment above the gym and hires him.
Cutter meets Josette while he was out celebrating his 21st birthday with couple of friend from the gym. While his friends are getting friendly with Josette’s friends, Jo is asking Cutter to play a boyfriend while her creepy classmate is watching her. That starts their friendship but soon they know their chemistry isn’t just one sided. They decided to become friends with benefit. They were falling for each other but they never wanted to discuss further than friendship.
However, their relationship is tested when Cutter becoming a better MMA fighter and needs to be heading to Vegas for national fights and Jo finds out she is pregnant. Jo blurts her pregnancy when they were spending last night together and mention she will not keep the baby on her own. Cutter would support any decisions that was made by Jo but Jo leaves a voicemail and leaves. And that’s how they ended their relationship before Vegas.
Three years later, Cutter is back to his ‘family’ Garrett and faces Jo after three years but he wasn’t expecting to see her and the surprise.
It takes different turn for the story. Both are not naive 21 years old any more and they both have very different career path. All Cutter wanted was a family but Jo taken away his time without telling him. He wanted his time and it was taking a toll on Jo as well. Both need to find happy medium.
It was great story with twist and turns.

I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Cutter has lived on the streets for 2 years and life has not been good for him. Now at 17, he is caught one night going through the window of a gym by the owner Garrett. He tells Garrett that he has slept under the fight ring for a couple of nights and has nothing illegal in mind. Garrett sees something in Cutter and takes him under his wing, giving him a job and a place to live. Garrett and his wife Rian become his family. After a couple of years, Garrett sees Cutter's talent in the ring and starts training him for the MMA.

Josette is trying to finish College and takes a job as a bookkeeper at the gym. There is a real attraction between she and Cutter and it isn't long before they begin a relationship.

Cutter is then given an opportunity to make a name for himself but he has to go to Las Vegas. Josette has to stay behind to finish school and is afraid they will not last. Then something happens and she has to make a decision. She cuts him free to pursue his dream but it also breaks his heart.

It is 3 years before they see each other again and it is a time of shock, anger and hopefully growth and togetherness for them.

I absolutely loved this story! Josette gave up her dream of she and Cutter so he could have his dream because she felt he needed to do this. She felt like they never would have made it if he didn't. She took a really big risk, a risk that could be the end of them.

Will he forgive and will they make up? It is definitely worth the time to read this to find out. Your heart will ache and your eyes tear!

Ann's 3 Star Review
I read Cutter without reading Raven, Book 1 in the A Fight or Flight Series. Usually I don’t read book in a series unless I’ve read them all. However, I was told this one didn’t need to be read in order so I gave it a shot. I’m new to Ashley Suzanne though I will try another book, I probably won’t read anymore from this series. Cutter is such a good and very forgiving man. He puts up with a lot more than I ever could. Jo is selfish, self-centered and not very likable in my opinion. Honestly Jo is the main reason I didn’t enjoy the book. Story was good just not for me. Not everyone will like every book they will read so I will of course try Ashley again.

This is the second book in the fight or flight series but can be read as a standalone, but after reading this book I'm going back to read the first one to read about Garrett and Rian.

This book is about Cutter who has had a hard life growing up. He was homeless and found shelter in a gym that Garrett and Rain owned but instead of taking him to the police they gave him the chance that he never had with his parents. Garrett and Rian are like the parents he never had even though they were only ten years older.

Josette is a student that has also lost her parents and is staying with friend until she graduates school to become an accountant.

In the beginning Cutter and Josette are just best friends but you can tell they both like each other more then just friends. Soon they become friends with benefits but Josette keeps telling Cutter do not fall in love with me.

Cutter gets a chance to go in the ring and fight. Garrett can't believe how good he is but he's been watching Garrett train for a while and learned from watching.

As the story moves along you wonder if these two will finally admit their feelings for each other and if Cutter makes it big will they last. There's twists and turns that will have you asking why? I loved how the author ended the story then went out fifteen years to tell us more which added more to the story and gives you the more your always asking for. 5 out of 5 stars

This was a friends to lovers to almost enemies story that captured my heart from the first page and refused to let go -- even now that I’m finished with the novel.

Cutter Greer was an abused teen who ran away from home and found himself sleeping in Garrett Rhodes’ gym at night to stay safe. When Garrett found him there, he gave him the apartment over the gym in exchange for being the janitor at the gym.

Josette Morelli is an orphan who found a home with two college “friends” and is determined to make something of herself to make her parents proud.

I loved the dynamic of this story and all of the characters really pulled on my heartstrings. Though I haven’t read Raven (the first book in the series), I still felt connected to the entire story and loved how it all played out. I think the author does an amazing job of creating characters with flaws that are relatable and then find themselves with the help of their significant other. Both Cutter and Josette had many flaws, but when they were together everything seemed better.

This story was not really all that believable. I don’t think any of it could have played out like it did in the novel, BUT it’s fiction and that’s why I loved it. Getting lost in a book like this is one of my favorite things and that’s why I give it 5 stars!

***ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.***

What seemed like a promising story faded quickly for me primarily due to the h, Josette. Save me from quirky but super sexy heroines who do stupid things and annoy me to no end.

Spoiler alerts which explain my annoyance:

I can suspend a lot of disbelief when it comes to romance but save me from stupid heroines.

I have to say that didn't read Book 1, Raven, which is Garrett and Rian's story but I was able to easily get into this book without reading the their book. Ashley Suzanne is also a new author to me and will most likely read more of her books.

Cutter is a runaway escaping his alcoholic mother and abusive step-father but when he breaks into Garrett's gym, little does he know how being caught by him how it will change his life. Garrett gives Cutter a chance at a new life teaching him how to be a championship MMA fighter and giving him the thing, he most craves, a family. He'll become a undefeated fighter while he still hopes that Josette will find her way back to him.

Josette meets Cutter at a bar on his 21st birthday when her friends have over indulged and Cutter makes sure she gets home safely. Little does she know that both she and Cutter work at Garrett's gym and the attraction they both feel for each other will have its ups and downs before they find each other again creating their own family. She knows that Cutter will become the most important person in her life but first she wants to finish her degree before going onto her masters.

I really liked the book and will eventually read Raven to see how the series all begins with Garrett and Rian.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Formerly homeless, Cutter is out celebrating his birthday when he meets Josette. Although his heart beats a little fast for her, they fast become friends and soon become friends with extra special benefits. This book was hot and brought out all the feels! The sex scenes were steamy, and parts of this book just really broke my heart. The majority of this book had me wondering why so much background information about their friendship. It wasn't towards the last portion of the book, when Josette's big secret is revealed, that you begin to understand the importance behind their close friendship.

I love that this book is about friendship, family being defined as people linked by more than just blood, and about learning to forgive in order to have second chances. Parts are a bit predictable, however I still really liked this story and even more so that it included a hot up and coming turn pro MMA fighter, and that the two main characters had a friendship before anything else.

There are also two secondary characters whose relationship is outlined within the first book of this series, and I have added it to my 'to read' list.

Holy bananas.. This book was so awesome and why would it be any less when it's an Ashley Suzanne book.

Ok so lets get on with it huh? Cutter is a sexy man that thought he would never see the love of his life again. Josette moved on and so did he but he never gave up on the love he had for her. Their love was so strong, yet she decided that she would let him live his life without her.

Cutter being a kicka$$ MMA fighter with a hard past and Josette the sexy accountant that steels his heart. They can't be anything but perfect right? With their stubborn personalities, reading their banter was just so funny and entertaining. These two are so fun to read about with their love and teasing but they are so freakin frustrating too. This story had me almost in tears and laughing out loud. There are all the feels in this one just like the others. So don't fret Ashley wont leave ya hanging ;)

Ashley really does an awesome job of making Jo a strong female and Cutter strong also but yet they are stronger together. Thank you so much Ashley for allowing me to fall in love with your books and your characters.
