REVIEW FOR ANGEL’S REST : JOKER
I received this as an ARC for an honest review
Leela Jones is a werewolf hunter…or she would like to prove to her grandfather that she is at least. She has grown up sheltered in the compound of her grandfather..never knowing love or really the way of things in the real world. She has been raised to hate shifters, believing her parents were killed by them years ago. Bastian hates hunters, because his father was killed by hunters when he was young. It would seem these two have an awful lot in common…but looks can be deceiving. When Leela sneaks out to try her new prototype weapons, she is captured by the wolves and held captive. When Bastian is sent to question her, they both have an awakening neither saw coming. Leela begins to question every principle and rule she was raised with and Bastian learns all hunters are not created the same. After a night of passion between these two, Leela leaves to go back and try to make peace a reality for the two factions. What she learns upon her return is heartbreaking for her. When she learns her grandfather plans to wipe out the shifters , she escapes to try and stop it. When she is shot on her grandfather’s orders, all bets are off. Bastian only wants to kill her grandfather and his men. What happens next will either give him the future he desperately wants , or he will lose the woman he has come to love and need.

Leela Jones was Colonel Jones granddaughter. She would do anything for her grandfather attention. (whoops she could only call him Colonel ) She tried to be a good soldier but the Colonel always told her women could never be soldier there to emotional. Leela had to prove him wrong so she invented hallow bullets and three revolvers. BUT she got captured!
Bastian Villalodes brother Kane was the Alpha of Angel Rest. Kane tells Bastian not to her but to lock her up. Though he has lustful feelings for her , he tries to ignore them.
Not happening , there was something there between them he wanted to kill her, he wanted to screw her.

I absolutely loved this book, I found myself thrust into the story, then just as quickly I was at the end. How did that happen??
Bastian is following his alpha pairs orders, letting hunter Leela escape after convincing her that sifters aren't as bad as she'd been told. Leela leaves Bastian to return to her grandfather's compound, but not everything she's been told is the truth & lies told to her, her whole life soon come unraveled....
If you haven't read Hero yet, please do so, as Joker continues on from close to the end & you'll miss the action that was included there.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
The cover is beautiful! Bas looks way tamer than I imagined him lol
This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is part of larger collection called Mating Season. I have read several books in a couple of the series. I do have the first book in each of the series but haven’t read them all yet :) I do recommend reading each series in order as the characters and interactions build in each story, and you do not want to miss out on the backstory and relationships :)
This is Bas and Leela’s story who are Hunter and Hunted, but which is which. The story has plenty of action and intrigue to keep your attention while you are pulled into the world of Angels Rest. Beautifully written and no problems seeing what is happening, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
If you are a werewolf shifter fan, then you will definitely find something you enjoy in this book as well as the collection as a whole :)

I found this book slow going at first but it wasn't long before the story sucked you in. Leela was raised to hate and kill werewolves but once she met one white werewolf, she changed her mind. Bastian eventually showed her that werewolves are not what her grandfather says they are. Only thing is when she goes back to her grandfather, he cannot be convinced of that. When both her grandfather and his hunters and werewolves come together to fight, Leela gets in the middle and is shot. Bastian saves and changes her for love although her grandfather wants her saved also. Leela and Bastian start their happy lives together.

I was gave this ARC to read and review. This is the second book to read in this series and I really enjoyed it I couldn't stop reading until I was finish, I like the romance between the characters and they where so compelling, sensual, enchanting and intriguing. This the type of romance I love to read. This a great addition to this series.
Bastian parents was killed by hunters and they were fighting a war. When he captured Leela his first thought was to kill the human but there was something holding him back. Leela grandfather was the Colonal but she couldn't call him that, her parents was dead killed by werewolves. Leela has wanted to fight werewolves for a long time. But Colonal didn't think women should fight. Levels was half Japanese and the soldiers made fun at her saying main in China under the one time the Colonal hit soldier so hard he knocked a tooth loose but he only did it then because she was developing a weapon to kill the werewolves but Leela would take whatever she wanted him to be proud of her. Unfortunately on her first hunt to test the weapon she was captured by Bastian. She was astonished to find that they want the killing to stop. The couple was feeling each other out they each was learning about the other and fallin love.
The storyline is a quick and intense pace to read, I recommend this series to everyone Because its FANTASTIC
Iam excited to read Book 3.

A great addition to the series. Full of surprises, some good and some bad, but the Hunter and the Werewolf get a HEA in the end.
I loved this book and really didn't want to put it down. Second in the Wolves of Angels Rest series by Elsa Jade. It's just as good as the first one and I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. This is also the ninth book published in the multi-author Mating Season Collection of paranormal romances. All of the books can be read as stand alones and are complete stories with their own HEA.
Wow, are there some surprises in this book, and they aren't all good ones for true mates and enemies Bastian Villalobos of the Mesa Diablo Pack and Leela Jones, grand-daughter of the head of the Jonestown Militia, inexperienced werewolf hunter and weapons maker extraordinaire. Leela's world is tipped on it's head first by the great white wolf she came to kill, but who captured her, in more ways than one, and then by her own flesh and blood, when it turns out neither are what she thought they were. Human hating Bastian's world is tipped on it's head by Leela.
This is a short, fast paced and action packed read with humour, steamy bits, a flying bullet or two, chocolate, some heartbreaking revelations and a happily ever after for Leela and Bastian. I love the characters in this series as well as the stories, which take a total of about two to two and a half hours to read, and I really can't wait to read the next one.

Leela was born and raised in the Jonestown Militant compound that is run by her Grandfather. Raised believing that werewolves were responsible for killing her parents. No girls/women are allowed to be soldiers, so Leela has spent her time designing new ammo and weapons for the militia. Wanting to prove herself to her grandfather and the other militia members, she takes her new proto-types and finds her some werewolves to kill. It just doesn't go as she had planned.
Bastian is the cousin of the Alpha. They all live in Angles Rest. It is the mating season and there isn't much chance of him finding his true mate this season, same as last season. He knows he will have to soon choose a female and bond with her to help the pack carry on. A hunter shows up and starts causing trouble. It is strange that there is only one hunter, usually they show up in groups and this one is female. Upon capturing the hunter Bastian wants to get rid of her, but is told "no" by his Alpha couple. He is to question her, get more information. Just when he thinks he knows what is going to happen, he discovers that this little hunter....is his mate. How can his mate be one of his enemies?

I was gifted the book for an honest review. Another 5 star for Elsa Jade and Jokers story, Woot Woot!! Leela Jones has been raised by her grandfather at the Jonestown Militant Compound where there # 1 goal is to destroy all shapeshifters. She has been told her whole life that werewolves killed her parents, but is it true? Trying to prove to her grandfather that she is worthy of being a hunter, she embarks on a journey to use her new weaponry on the wolves, but instead of killing them, she is captured and taken to their clan. Meet Bastian Villiboe, sexy shapeshifter werewolf, and the one to capture leela when he and his friends were out on a run one night. Bastian's father was killed years ago by the hunters, left alone with his brother to fend for themselves, he is out for revenge. Little does he know that the sexy Leela, will change his whole outlook on hunters, well at least her as one. After arguing with his clan on what to do with her, Bas goes to question Leela, but instead offers her a chocolate bar which really begins this story. Is what Leela belived all her life true? And if now, who really killed her parents. Both Bastian and Leela want peace between them, the hunters and werewolves, but at what cost? Come along for a great ride with Bas and Leela, the passion which drives them both is strong, but also their feelings for each other ignite to some of the most passionate sex scenes. Love this story!!!

This book picks up where her last book hero left off. The alpha and his 2 cousins has the hunter in custody. Now they have a decide kill her or.......
the hunter's name is Leela but is she what she seems or something else?
Bastian's wolf wants her but does the man? Then there is her family business lol.
All in all this book is a must read for any wolf shifter lovers. It's a must read. Don't miss this series

Funny how looking through the eye of the enemy can mirror your own
Bastion hates humans, especially hunters and he votes to kill Leela (the hunter that tried to kill Kane and shot Maddie in Hero) but Maddie and Kane feel that it would be better to convince her they only want to be left alone to live in peace. Although Bastion agrees to talk rather than kill, he never expects to find he and Leela have so much in common and that he would become so close to her (mate close). After sleeping with Leela Bas lets her go, hoping that Maddie’s plan for peace will work, but highly doubting it, and wanting desperately to chase her down and protect her. But when the hunters come it’s not for peace, Leela is locked up and has to escape to try and warn Bastion and the rest of the pack, becoming injured in the process and suddenly Bastion finds that being the Joker is not funny when he has no idea how to save Leela and if he does the only thing he can (turn her) she may never forgive him. Great addition and can’t wait to read Rouge!! **Book received in exchange for an honest review**

Joker, Wolves of Angel' s Rest #2, is a quick and exciting read. It is mating season and Bastian Villalobos, cousin of the Alpha and son of the former Alpha who was killed by humans, is a large, sigled white wolf. He captures a solitary hunter who attacked their group and places her in confinement, then proceeds to question her. What he discovers is a young woman who is not only his mate, but the granddaughter of Colonel Reynold Jones, the leader of the Jonestown Militia, the extremists who killed his father. But Leela is no ordinary hunter. She has developed a revolver that doesn't miss and was trying out the prototype on his pack. As they talk, each discover new truths and Leela knows she must try to bring peace to the two sides. But when she returns to the compound to confront her grandfather, she learns plans for an attack on the wolves is already underway, so she returns to the pack. Will she be able to turn the tide of events and become the peacemaker her mother and grandmother before her tried to be, or will she, like them, fall to hatred?

Leela Jones is a smart young woman. Maybe too smart as she has created a weapon to harm werewolves. She comes up against a white wolf named Bastian. Has she met her match.
Bastian has run wild thinking about revenge ever since his father had been killed by hunters when he was a child. He holds on to the anger and dreams of revenge against all that hunt wolves. Has he met his match.

I loved Bastian and Leela's story, so full of hope and new beginnings.
Bastian always the joker, but a dreamer of what his people used to be like. He has no hope of ever finding his mate...He constantly watched and envied Kane and Maddie's love for each other, but he would not ever take a human as a mate. Until he lost his carefully guarded heart to that slip of a girl, but he would never be able to have her forever, or would he, could he have that dream?
Leela has never known love from her grandfather, he only ever taught her to hate shifters. Now she finds herself a prisoner of the shifters and realizes that they are not the monsters they are made out to be by her grandfather. Will she be the one to change the war brewing?
I love the mystic surrounding Bastian, we get a small glimpse of it, but it is very compelling and magical.
I can't wait to read Rafe's story, it should be very powerful!

Leela wants to prove her worth by testing the new revolvers on werewolves. She failed and now is captured by the Four Corners Pack. Colonel always said women existed to give them male children. Both her parents were killed during a werewolf attack and left her an orphan. Her grandfather the Colonel raised her. She creates weapons for the cause at clandestine paramilitary.
Bas is pleased his cousin Kane's mated but that doesn't mean he's not jealous of him as well. His destiny changed the day his father was slain by the human hunters he was just a pup when that happen. He can't wait until he can revenge his death but that was taken away when the hunter that came is a female all by her self with no back up.

Book two in the Angel Rest series and takes place as book one ended. The pack has been attacked by a hunter, Leela, who is trying out her new weapons on werewolves whom she has hated since they murdered her parents. Bastian wants to kill her but was overruled by the alphas so that she can be a peacemaker between the two factions. When Bastian gets a good "sniff" of her her realizes she is special and wants more from her. There are secrets that are learned when Leela returns to the hunters and when the hunters decide to confront the shifters. This is a short story but has lots of action and a few sexy scenes. The next book in the series will be released soon so we will be getting Rafe's story soon.

Hunters killed his parents and werewolves killed hers. She was raised to fight weres and he has a vendetta. Leela is on her first hunt to prove that the weapon she has designed will kill weres. Unsuccessful and captured by the weres she was to kill she is astonished to find that they may not be the evil she was led to believe. Bastian’s first instinct is to kill the human but the new alpha wants change. They want the killing to end. Both Bastian and Leela haave a lot to learn from each other and if they fall in love along the way… anything is possible.
I enjoyed everything about this quick intense read except the title. I don’t get it. But the story Is well worth the read.

I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for a honest review and have to say that Elsa Jade does not disappoint. This is Book two in the Angel Rest Series and reveal the story of Bastian Villalobos an intimidating, hot werewolf and Leela Jones a hunter granddaughter of Reynold Jones " The Colonel" head honcho of the Jones Militia. The plot is extremely well written, secrets, drama, betrayal, love, the begining of a war between shapeshifters. The book is a stand alone, No cliffhangers. I'm hoping that next book in the series is Rafe's story and that we'll be getting it soon.

Leela Jones was raised by her grandfather who is the head of Jonestown Militia. She always felt like she was never good enough even when she invented weaponry in their battle against the werewolves. Bastian Villalobos is a werewolf who hates hunters because they killed his father. Now he has captured a hunter and wants her dead but his wolf wants something else.
The author wrote such compelling characters in this book and their interaction with each other was great. The story flow was smooth as silk and such a pleasure to read.
This is for any paranormal romance book lover.

There are always two sides to a story
Leela was raised by her Grandfather, The General in charge of a group of hunters determined to eradicate werewolves. Leela has also been told that her parents were killed by werewolves. Always looking to get her grandfathers approval she goes into developing weapons that kill quickly. She decides to test the revolvers herself and end up getting caught by the werewolves. But unlike what she’s been told they don’t kill her. Bastian’s parent were killed by hunters and when he captures one he thinks he may get some revenge, that is until he removes her mask. Well written and very entertaining story to read.

Un believable to her she finds them nothing like she was led to believe, one man Bastian Villalobos shows her another way of life and makes her see that what she has been told is wrong. Leela falls in love and Bastian finds his mate. Can he save her, can she convince her grandfather he is wrong, can they stop the war.
Great book loved it and really looking forward to more of this series.

What once was a war of sorts between werewolves and humans was changed when Leela and Bastian find each other through what could of been an encounter with a devastating outcome...death. But ended up the chance the two needed to know each other and come to understand their differing viewpoints. The story engages you immediately and continues to carry you through each new discovery as Leela and Bastian come to understand all that has driven their families apart.

Loved, Loved, Loved this book. Leela was sheltered all her life and raised as a hunter. Bastian is a wolf shifter. To prove to her grandfather that she can be a hunter she tries to hunt alone and is captured by Bastian. She learns that not everything she was taught was true. Bastian and Leela have a steamy night together and that is all it takes for love.

Love the wolves
I have only read two books by Elsa Jade and I must admit I've enjoyed them both. I read about 5 to 6 books a week sometimes more depending on length but I have to say I've had to look up some of the words in her books. Thank goodness for Kindle's dictionary. I enjoy learning new terms though.
Bas is awesome. He is honest, loyal and loving. Leela is strong, beautiful and smart. Together they will make a force to be reckon with. I can't wait to read Rogue in hopes to see more of their story.

Leela has been trained since birth to hate wolf shifters. Bastian lost his parents to hunters. Hunters and wolves have been fighting for generations. Can these two change that?
If you like a sexy smart mouthed, dirty talking wolf then you are in the right place. If you want some action, a cast of great characters then you found it. I really enjoyed this read and the series so far and can't wait for the next story!

Leela and Bas are perfect for one another. Not at first though. She was supposed to be a hunter of werewolves, but in her attack on the compound, she fails miserably. Can these two find a way to be together. She was lied to her whole life and her eyes are now opened to the possibilities of the world she never knew. Great characters, interesting story, and hot sex make this story worthwhile. ENJOY !!!

Oh I really enjoy this series, can't wait for more. Elsa being part of the enemy (while being conflicted) and Bastian trying to kill her made this a quick read for me - I couldn't put it down. I kept hoping for the best. Rocky start for them but it worked out in the end. I cried in some parts I'm so sappy. Can't wait for Darling and Rafe. No cliffhanger and definite HEA.

Bastian is following his alpha's orders after capturing Leela to let her go/escape to let the others know that the wolves just want peace.
When all hell breaks lose Leela is shot and Bastian does the only thing he can to save her.
This is a fast read and very enjoyable.
