Tell Me You're Mine

Rate this book
I thought the man who touched me while I slept was a dream.

I was wrong.

I’ve spent most of my life learning how to survive monsters.

My father, my past, the memories carved into my skin, but what about the one who haunts me as I sleep? The one I have come to crave.

He’s been watching me and he knows every scar, every secret, and every dark little fantasy I’ve been too afraid to admit out loud. So why can’t I stop thinking about him in forbidden ways?

My therapist says it’s a fantasy, a twisted response to a lifetime of trauma. He tells me there’s nothing wrong with wanting something dark, as long as I explore it safely.

Safe.

That word has never meant much to me, not after the childhood I survived and not after the blood I spilled to finally escape it.

But this Halloween, my stalker has decided he is finally done with hiding in the shadows.

Because monsters don’t always want to hurt you.

Sometimes they want to keep you.

Tell Me You're Mine is a dark Halloween romance that contains an obsessive stalker who is a morally black hero, a traumatised heroine with blood on her hands, and twisted desires being used to explore trauma. Please proceed with caution.

Can you say psycho boys and girls????? Jacob is fucking nuts. But I guess that's what Alora needs. Oh the hell she went through. No one should ever have to go through that, especially a child. Jacob is obsessed with Alora and sometimes I'm thinking not in a good way. Oh hell who am I kidding, he's just plain old crazy. Alora is trying to exist because she's definitely not living. That is until Jacob takes her and...
Oops I almost said too much. I enjoyed this one a lot. I just wish we could have had some back story on Jacob. I personally didn't think this one was pitch black. I'm leaning more towards it being medium to dark gray. This is just my opinion. It's a good one so I hope when you read it you'll enjoy it too.

🩸I don't exist without you, everything I do, everything I am, it is all yours☠️

"That's what she does to me, just being near her makes me feel alive, fills me with purpose, and forces me to be just the kind of man she needs."

"In here there is just me and her. There is no outside world trying to keep us apart, no moral code telling me this is wrong, and no one in my way trying to take what is mine."

"Halloween is always a night for monsters to come out and play, but what people didn't realize is that I was living with a monster who wanted to play every night."

"The only love I have ever known is tainted in abuse. The only touch I have ever felt is dripping in pain, and the only freedom I have ever been allowed was the moment it took to kill my father."

"Captivity. Most would agree it's a dark and ungodly thing, that it's inhumane, wrong, yet what they won't tell you is that sometimes it's necessary."

"I see parts of her she has never shown to anyone, parts she hasn't even discovered herself yet, and I want to be the one to help her. I want to rip her open and let all her secrets and desires drown us together, until the only life raft she has is me."

"There isn't a place in this world you could hide from me, there isn't a line in this world I wouldn't cross for you, and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you, except for letting you go. You're mine, Alora."

"They took from you, so I took from them. I took their freedom, their pleasure, and their life. Look how safe I make the world for you, my little doll."

"There is no end for you and I, Alora, I don't exist without you, everything I do, everything I am, it is all yours."

"From the very first second I saw you, Alora, I haven't been able to stop. Your beauty, your power, your grace, all of it calls to me, like you're a siren and I am the one fated to fall for your song."

"I want his marks and he knows it, as if he has crawled inside of my mind and read every thought I've ever had, and not just the ones I have spilled on his sofa. And he isn't scared, he doesn't think I'm broken, he thinks I'm powerful, and and he wants me to take the plunge into the unknown with him. Can I do it?"

"Ask me, demand me like you ruined me, like you saved me, abs I will give you everything you've ever wanted."
"Tell me you're mine."
"I'm yours. From the moment you took me and every moment since, I am yours, Jacob Baines."

Wow! This was such a darkly phenomenal short novella. For this being short, it was packed full of trauma, spice, horror, gore, and an unconventional healing journey for our FMC. This is a dark novella with all the triggers. The MMC is unhinged, psychotic, and also her deadly savior. The spice was kinky, dark, and bloody. This author handled all the sensitive topics flawlessly. My favorite part of this book was Alora's sexual healing journey. It was forced upon her, but this is the only way for her to confront it head-on given her past trauma. The HEA was wild, therapeutic, and brought them closer than ever.

This story follows Alora and Jacob. This starts off with Alora asleep while her stalker watches her and does some questionable, spicy things 🫣. We then see her speaking to her therapist about this dream man who feels so real. She wonders why she feels comfort/arousal with him. The therapist wants her to practice her desires safely at home. We see her talk about her traumatic past involving her CSA, which involved her father and friends. One of those friends bump into her, making her want to run again. Her stalker takes care of him. She goes to a Halloween party and runs into another abuser but her therapist saves her and takes her to his house. We find out her therapist is Jacob, her stalker and she gets held captive. Jacob will stop at nothing to exterminatate all of her demons. He knows her desires and what she's too scared to voice. Can this deadly, psychotic therapist make Alora see how perfect they are together? Can Alora let go and finally heal whether the lines of right or wrong become blurred?

This couple was toxic, deranged, psychotic, but sweet and beautifully poetic. The chemistry and connection was perfection. The spice and kink melted my kindle 🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥. My soul bled for poor Alora 😭. She has been through so much pain and continues to outrun her demons. Until Jacob makes her face them head on. Jacob is a different breed of man 🤣. That man went to great lengths to show her how perfect they could be together. He even jarred the hearts of her abusers. Boy, does he free her of her abusers and their body parts 😅. He was sweet, unhinged, and very protective. He built her up and never let her forget how powerful she was. I loved seeing Alora fight the battle between what her mind and body wanted. Lines got blurred but she took her power back. This is a power couple and let's hope no one crosses their path ☠️. I highly recommend this story. Especially in time for Halloween 🎃.

“It's okay, my little doll, what you won't give, I will just take anyway. You're mine either way.”

Alora has spent most of her life learning how to survive the worst kind of monsters. Bearing the physical and emotional scars of a brutal upbringing and the blood she spilled to escape it, she’s doing the hard work in therapy to rebuild herself. But the figure who touches her in her sleep isn’t just a trauma-induced dream or a twisted fantasy to explore safely...he’s very real, and he's been watching her every move. This Halloween, her obsessive stalker is done lurking in the shadows. He’s taking her, because monsters don’t always want to destroy you... sometimes they just want to keep you.

Honestly, if Gabby writes it, you know I’m going to read it! Gabs is an auto-read author for me, and Tell Me You're Mine was such a fun, fast, and dirty dark romance novella for spooky season.

Alora was a really compelling FMC to follow. Watching her try to navigate who she is after enduring such an intensely rough childhood felt grounded, and her therapist actually seemed like a solid support system...too bad she ends up kidnapped by her stalker before we can see how that healing journey would have played out in the real world!

Then we have Jacob. He is unapologetically morally black and completely consumed by his obsession with Alora. Because this is a shorter novella, my only real critique is that I would have loved to get more layers and backstory on Jacob; we know he is utterly obsessed with her, but I wanted a little more meat on his character to balance out the intense spice.

That being said, if you’re looking for high heat, pure chaos, and a quick, unhinged thriller read, this delivers. The spice is top-tier, the m*rder and mayhem start fast, and the spooky Halloween atmosphere makes it a great October binge.

A very important PSA: Please make sure to check your trigger warnings before diving in! This book covers heavy and dark themes, including non-con/dub-con, past mention of SA of a minor, blood, gore, and m*rder. Definitely proceed with caution, but if you love a fast, gritty stalker romance, it’s a great spooky read!

read the warnings

I rarely read the trigger warnings cause they don’t typically phase me but for whatever reason this one was one I did and I’ll admit the wording on it had me asking myself if I was good to continue. I had some mixed feelings on the MMC and how he initiated the relationship but everything from there was unquestionably good. I loved how it ended because it did the very thing the trigger warning page stated it would at the end. So yes you will get a smutty novella but be sure you can handle what it comes with.

I mean if you love your MMCs morally black then it really does hit the mark. It was a fun little novella for Halloween I just wanted a little more because I felt like it was just getting good and then it was over 😭

DARK

Quick read. Check triggers cuz this is very dark. I personally would have liked a little more of Jacob’s backstory.
