Anna is trying to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive relationship, only to find herself caught in the middle of a dangerous jewelry heist. What follows is a dark, suspenseful story filled with secrets, revenge, danger, and an attraction neither character can ignore.
Anna was easy to root for. Despite everything she had endured, she remained strong, resilient, and determined. Knox (or Damon, depending on the edition) was the perfect dark romance antihero—protective, possessive, obsessed, and willing to do whatever it took to protect the woman he claimed as his. Their chemistry was explosive, and the tension between them kept me completely invested from beginning to end.

Joe Arden and Dani Soleil delivered a fantastic performances, bringing emotion, intensity, humor, and chemistry to every scene.

Prey Upon Me was my first ever Nina Carpenter and I loved it! I had no idea what to expect but I was completely satisfied with this dark, stalker romance!
Prey Upon Me follows Anna (FMC), and Damon (MMC). Anna is somewhat of a homebody after escaping her abusive ex. When she finally convinces herself to leave her apartment for a job interview at a jewelry store, the store is robbed while she’s there, insert Damon, one of the robbers. Kind of a wild meet cute, right? Ha! When the robbers take her as a hostage and she gets away, Damon begins to “stalk” her and quickly finds himself obsessed with her! The chemistry between the two is off of the charts and as Anna learns more about Damon, she is falling for him too.
There were definitely some dark elements in this book, but there was also a lightness to it, because Damon was more of a cinnamon roll than a crazy stalker (or maybe I’ve just read so much that I couldn’t help but cheer on the stalker! ;)) This book was fun and captivating from start to finish, and I really hope we will be getting more from some of the side characters that were mentioned throughout the story.
Prey Upon Me is narrated in duet by Dani Solei and Joe Arden. If you aren’t familiar with Dani, she is incredible. Every time I listen to a book she narrates I am always blown away by her performance and Prey Upon Me was no exception. She captured Anna’s personality and character growth so well. If you listen to romance audiobooks, you are probably familiar with Joe Arden, but if not he is a fantastic narrator that doesn’t just read the words, he truly performs them, which is what he did as Damon. These two narrators and Nina’s writing made this such a great listen!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 dynamic between these two characters was great. Knox is morally grey with a strong sense of justice, and Anna is resilient, a survivor looking to escape her abusive past. The intense, steamy moments between them only added to the tension of the story.

I loved this story! It's a fast-paced story and towards the end I was certain there was going to be a cliffhanger. (I clearly didn't read the author's description well enough because it is listed as a HEA with no cliffhanger!) When I say fast-paced, I mean within the first couple of chapters we are instantly entered into an "OMG what the hell is going on?!" I really loved this style of writing because it made me want to just keep listening when I should've been asleep!
Anna finds her way back to herself throughout her story! She starts out as a girl who is looking behind her back for the fear of her past. Then here comes Knox barreling into her life and immediately starts to unravel her hesitations and fears. Knox is a man that has a plan and is making it happen until Anna. He convinces himself that he is stalking her because she could ruin his plans... but is he really? And while he is stalking, he learns she has her own secrets she is hiding.
Dani Soleil and Joe Arden were absolutely fantastic in this! Both of the voice acting is another reason I couldn't stop listening!

All around such a great audiobook. The story was such a fun and wild ride. The action starts right away at the very beginning and when you think things will start to calm down something else happens. I really love how it ended and I liked how the story had a lot of layers with it. There was backstory for both of the characters and how their lives intertwined with each other really grabbed my attention and I was never bored! The narrators did PHENMONEAL. Joe Arden really knows how to deliver emotional dialogue and it really made this audiobook come to life.
This was my first book by this author and I will be reading more of her books.

All around such a great audiobook. The story was such a fun and wild ride. The action starts right away at the very beginning and when you think things will start to calm down something else happens. I really love how it ended and I liked how the story had a lot of layers with it. This was absolute perfection! I enjoyed the book way too much! The plot the twists, the characters and don’t get me started on our amazing narrators Dani Soleil and Joe Arden.
Dani absolutely outdid herself, i was so invested in our FMC, i could feel her, she was literally coming to life with Dani narrating her!
While the book is a dark romance the writing was done so well i was chuckling and giggling at parts and horrified at others when the darker parts were revealed!
I definitely need more of Nina’s books and hopefully she’ll be releasing something soon so i can devour it!

ALC Review
Joe Arden and Dani Soleil did an amazing job bringing Knox and Anna to life. They captured the characters’ personalities and emotions so well and kept me invested from beginning to end.
The story did feel a little like your typical masked-man stalker romance, and I wish there had been more plot and character development to make it stand out. However, I really enjoyed the revenge aspect, the spice was good, and the little sprinkle of mafia added some extra excitement. Overall, it was a dark, spicy, and entertaining listen!

I really really enjoyed this book! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first started listening but I was hooked! I love a good revenge story and this was DEFINITELY that! Dani Soleil and Joe Arden did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. 10/10 recommend!!
