I love all of the boys in this series, and this book absolutely did not disappoint. Give me a good forbidden workplace romance between a boss and his employee, and I am IN. 😂
Scarlett is Tessa’s (MFC from book 1) best friend, and I absolutely loved her character. She’s strong, smart, distrustful, fiercely independent, and completely true to herself and her moral values. She’s also carrying an absolutely atrocious past at the hands of her father, which adds so much depth to her character. I loved watching her navigate everything while still staying true to who she is.
And then there’s Jace. 😏
Jace is a man with enough skeletons in his closet to fill an entire cemetery. He’s arrogant, assertive, intelligent, faithful, and a complete softie underneath all that alpha-male energy. He wants redemption, but he doesn’t believe he deserves it… until Scarlett.
Scarlett writes a revenge list after having one of those absolutely HORRIBLE weeks. You know the kind. The kind that requires a few too many margaritas and leaves you with the sudden urge to set your workplace on fire. 😂
The list is supposed to be private. Something no one should ever see.
Instead, a gorgeous stranger happens to find it and turns her horrible night into an unforgettable one and an even better weekend.
Jace is stressed over a business deal that isn’t going his way, so he walks into a bar with nothing better to do and meets a complete stranger. And honestly? I ate it UP. 😂
Then come the plot twists, and WOW. The revenge list that no one was supposed to see. The secrets hiding everywhere. The revelations that just keep coming.
The company is basically a corporate soap opera with better lighting, hotter people, and significantly more sass. HR is having the worst time imaginable, and the board is collectively losing its shit.
And I am HERE FOR IT.
This book is funny, dramatic, addictive, and completely unhinged in the best way. The sass and banter are genuinely hilarious—the kind that actually makes you laugh out loud. The kind that makes all the chaos feel delicious instead of exhausting.
I loved Scarlett. I loved Jace. I loved their chemistry. I loved the revenge list. I loved the secrets, the drama, the banter, and the absolute corporate chaos.
Basically… I loved everything about this book. ❤️

Kathy gave us a gift with these tropes and all of the things I love in a billionaire romance. A revenge plot meet cute that was equal parts sizzling hot chemistry and laugh out loud funny, a handsomely beautiful and powerful CEO that will burn down the world for only her, side characters you will love and strongly hate, and all of the tension you’d expect from a workplace romance. I love that the men in this series are a tight knit best friend group who love their ladies, but also have a dark grey edge. These two had elite chemistry and I ate this one up!
**Scarlett’s dad is a trash human and there is some difficult content and on page abuse that may be challenging for some readers. I felt like it was thoughtfully handled and relevant to Scarlett’s character as well as the story, but you should check the triggers and take care if this speaks to you.
🎧 As for the audio, Connor and Savannah were perfect for these roles and two character types I love for both of these voices. They did such a great job with their chemistry and tension, and I loved the way they amped up the banter. Savannah does an amazing job with a fun and flirty leasing lady, and Connor always nails a powerful and grumpy CEO. It was such a fun duet listen and I loved it!
