He's a dragon.
Unfortunately, discovering Cole's secret doesn't make him any less annoying.
It just makes him harder to resist.

Finally Acknowledging she was his Kryptonite -
I had so much fun reading Summer and Cole’s story, which was an interesting enemies-to-lovers tension-filled shifter romance story filled with snarky comments, witty banter, secrets and an exciting storyline, that kept me entertained as I eagerly turned the pages. This is a definite must read book, that deserves a place on your TBR List.

This is such a fun book and I loved getting to know Cole & Summer and seeing how everything comes together for them despite their rocky beginning. This book is set in a small town during a heatwave that causes a few problems for both Cole & Summer. I look forward to seeing what comes next in this new series.

👩❤️👨 Summer and Cole . . .
Summer Watts has been working on a temperamental temperature-sensitive buttercream chocolate sponge layer cake. It's coming along perfectly... until she heard the ice cream freezer making a death-rattle. It also was too warm inside the freezer to keep the pints of ice cream at the proper temperature. Her backup freezer used for cakes and buttercream was also warming! She leans against the wall and realizes the heat is radiating through from the other side, from her neighbor Cole Madden's smokers at his BBQ place next door! When she told him what was happening to her freezers, his only comment was "My smokers are on my property," then he ignored her. Heading back to her door, a loud pop announced the fact her lights had just gone dark and the freezers have stopped completely. And Cole's dragon, hot and restless, is awake and annoyed. It happens every time Summer is near him. And actually the heat that comes through the wall is not just the smokers -- it's his dragon.
Summer knows she will lose her product when the heatwave causes loss of power, so she heads next-door to ask about sharing Cole's freezer since his generator is functional and he agrees to help move her cakes and ice cream. Close to her in the freezer, he is having trouble keeping his dragon hidden. They start to feel comfortable together, and his dragon is at peace. They finish and turn to leave... but the freezer door won't open! The bolt's caught on the housing and the handle on the inside is jammed. Denny will have to open it from the outside when he arrives back after lunch. Lacey comes over and tries to help, but the latch is broken and the locksmith has a 2-hour wait before he can get there. He had grabbed a flannel shirt she can wear for now. It smells like the smokers, but maybe it has always been his scent she smelled. After awhile, he sees her begin to shiver. His dragon demands that he fix it! It works somewhat, but she needs more contact surface, like sitting in his lap so he can hold her; and he notices his dragon is content holding her like this. When a low rumbling starts, his dragon purring, she describes his heat as magic, and there is only one way to keep Summer warm now... he needs to tell her the truth about himself. But then Lacey calls out that she brought help. Will he tell her the truth after they are rescued? Or will he keep his secret buried as they go back to their usual bickering -- if that's even possible now?

He’s the reason her shop is overheating and the only one who can keep her warm.
Summer has poured everything into her struggling ice cream shop, so the last thing she needs is Cole next door, his barbecue smokers threatening her freezers and his maddening presence testing her patience. He’s stubborn, unreadable, far too attractive, and somehow always there when things go wrong. Their arguments are constant, their pride is evenly matched, and neither is particularly good at admitting how much attention they’re paying to the other.
Cole knows Summer has every reason to be furious. What she doesn’t know is that the heat coming through their shared wall isn’t entirely from the smokers. He’s spent years keeping part of himself carefully controlled, but around Summer, that control becomes harder to hold. The more she challenges him, the harder it becomes to keep his attraction buried beneath all that carefully practiced restraint.
When a blackout forces Summer to ask for his help, their rivalry shifts into reluctant trust. Trapped together in a freezing walk-in, sharp banter gives way to warmth, vulnerability, and a kiss that leaves them both facing feelings they’ve been much more comfortable fighting. For the first time, they stop competing long enough to actually see the person underneath all the irritation.
As secrets come into the open, Summer has to decide whether accepting Cole’s help means surrendering her independence, while Cole has to risk being fully known instead of hiding behind control. Their combative chemistry becomes protective intimacy, playful desire, and something neither of them can dismiss as neighborly irritation anymore.
A hot dragon shifter, enemies to lovers, next door neighbors romance with forced proximity, fated mates, caretaking, and plenty of sparks. It’s about trusting someone enough to be vulnerable, accepting the parts that don’t fit neatly into ordinary life, and discovering that love doesn’t have to cost you your strength.
The Elevator Pitch: A struggling ice cream shop owner and her infuriatingly hot neighbor turn a petty business rivalry into something far more dangerous when attraction starts burning through every boundary between them. Forced into unexpected closeness, they discover that trust can be harder to control than anger, especially when one of them is hiding something impossible beneath the surface. What begins as enemies to lovers becomes a fiery, intimate collision of pride, vulnerability, and the risk of wanting someone enough to let them see everything.

Dragon Me Crazy by Pippa Rae Brook was a fun paranormal romance! I loved the mix of small-town charm, dragon shifters, humor, and romance. The FMC Summer and MMC Cole had great chemistry, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop despite the challenges they faced. The story had plenty of playful moments, steamy romance, and paranormal twists that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed the quirky small-town atmosphere and the dragon-shifter elements, which gave the story a fun and unique feel. If you enjoy paranormal rom-coms with hot shifters, great chemistry, humor, and a happily-ever-after, this is a great choice. Overall, Dragon Me Crazy was a quick, lighthearted read that left me wanting more from the Hot Dragons Next Door series!

WOW what a story. There's a heatwave in town and it has nothing to do with the heat between Summer and Cole. Especially since he's a dragon shifter and realizes that Summer is his mate. But can they get past their little feud to make it work. Love this story, sweet with wonderful fun characters and a bit of steam.

Summer gets so angry with the store owner, Cole, next door because the heat heat from his restaurant messes with her freezers that she needs for her ice cream.
Although this book is very short it was so much fun to read! All the characters are so well written that I’m rooting for them from the beginning. There is also humour thrown in that makes the book fun. A great job!.

Boy these two they can argue. He loves to see her riled up so he does it on purpose. But you know how they say there is a fine line between love and hate. They get stuck in a freezer together; can they work out their differences? Will the fighting start again once they are free? I enjoyed their story.

We’re having a heatwave….
A quick, enemies to lovers tale between neighboring businesses when Summer, who owns the local ice cream store butts heads with Cole who owns the BBQ shop. Oh..did I mention he’s also a dragon. Good side characters, heat of course, and a sweet and heat bonus chapter.

Loved this dragon PNR. Summer and Cole are very dramatic. He likes her and pushes her buttons to get more attention from her. She likes him too even though he drives her crazy. I wish there was more to it though, I didn't want it to end as quickly as it did.

Cold vs. hot.
Sometimes the right words can light a fire within; sometimes something else can.
The right way to behave when the hero likes the heroine, or rather the wrong way.
I enjoyed the story and wouldn't mind hearing a dragon purr.

Lovely but I wanted more time
It was a lovely book but I wanted more time with the characters. The ending felt a bit rushed to me given that they were just starting to get to know each other. Loved the world though and how it draws you into it.

symbolic
This book was way too short, I had a blast reading about Summer selling ice cream and Cole the literally smoking hot barbecue restaurant owner, talk about symbolic backgrounds.
