As crisp autumn air descends on Heather Creek Farm, the kids start to settle into their new home. Christopher is consumed by an exciting new hobby, and Sam is drafted for the high school football team, almost against his will. Meanwhile, Emily is making new friends, reaching out to Rayann, the new girl in town.
But Charlotte has doubts that the girl—and her cute older brother—are a good influence on Emily, and when Emily is invited to Rayann’s lake house, Charlotte must face the tough decisions of parenting all over again. Can she put her foot down without losing her granddaughter’s love? Will Emily listen to her?
As Charlotte struggles with the opportunities and pitfalls of her second chance at parenting, severe storms send a serious threat toward Bedford, and a dramatic rescue reveals the depth of the bonds that tie this family together.

Charlotte and Bob are still taking care of their grandchildren and hoping they will settle in to farm life soon. The youngest is obsessed with tornados, Emily has a new girlfriend and a crush on her older brother and the Sam is still getting poor grades that means he can’t drive or stay on the football team. Bob gets a blood clot and can’t work so Charlotte has to add truck driver to her other farm chores. Charlotte and Bob’s grown children are going through changes and arguing over who will take care of the grandchildren if something happens to Charlotte and Bob. It does make you wonder how the grandparents got along before the grandchildren came to help with all the farm chores and how long Charlotte can go on working nonstop.
Family is complicated. Especially when you're grandparents having to raise the next generation because of a tragedy. Especially when the children left orphaned by the loss of their mother, and a missing father, are dealing with their pain and fears and not quite willing to talk.
Charlotte, the main POV character, has three grandchildren to look after, a husband with health problems, a harvest to bring in, an interfering lawyer son who wants to take over, a younger son who resents the older brother, and a second does of all the teenage angst she went through with her three children. And really rotten weather that could quickly turn into another tragedy.
How do they get through? A lot of growing and trusting in the grace of God.
Circle of Grace continues the story of Charlotte caring for her grandchildren after their mom's death. They seem to be adjusting to life in Nebraska. When her grand daughter makes friends with a newcomer, Rayann and her brother Seth Charlotte isn't sure this is a good idea, afraid they will be a bad influence Sam is drafted to play football but his grades are bad. Christopher has a new hobby and it ends up saving his and Emily life. Bob and Pete still have their differences. Older son Bill is pushing for Bob and Charlotte to name guardians. Charlotte is struggling to do better parenting her grandchildren. She and Bob aren't as young as they used to be.
Circle of Grace is the first book I’ve read in this series from Guidepost. The drama and family dynamics were realistic to today with grandparents raising their grandchildren. The change from city life to farm life was a lot different for the children. Bring in Bob and Charlotte’s grown sons with their own issues and opinions gave insight to the their upbringing on the farm.
A friend loaned me this book, thus a review was not required. She knew I enjoyed reading Leslie Gould’s books but I definitely prefer her dual timeline books.
Each book in the series keeps getting better and better! Charlotte a 64 year old grandmother is raising her three grandchildren, ages 10 to 16, each children presents her with a challenge. Sam is failing school and is unhappy, Emily makes a new friend and has a crush on her friend's brother, Christopher isn't making any friends and just cares about learning about tornadoes, and Charlotte's husband
This book is a touching continuation of a great series. The book deals with intergenerational relationships in a Christian perspective. I definitely recommend this series and look forward to reading more about this multigenerational family.
A continued story about the Stevenson Family set in NE. Like this one better than the previous one I read, not so "preachy" but based in Christian believes.
Sometimes adults need a time-out — a time just for him or herself. That's just what Charlotte needs as she tends to everybody else but herself. The doing can get to be too much.
The school wants Sam to play football. He wants to drive. Emily has a crush on the new guy. Christopher is working on a tornado project for school. Bill and Anna want custody of the three of them should something happen to Charlotte and Bob.
Planning and scheming and plotting.
Tough issues are dealt with in this series. I find Charlotte to be a lot like myself in the "what-if" department. :D
This was a good book .Charlotte the grandmother is raising her grandchildren the (old school) way. They don't like it but find out it is the best way. This was book three I missed one somewhere. Will look for it as it is a good series.....
The Stevenson family is 3 generations trying to learn how to live together and move on from the death of Denise (daughter, sister, mother). They are learning to make good decisions, to trust and that grace is all you need.
Book in the Heather Creek series. I love series books and the characters in these ones were fun to follow. Family situations, inspirational. I would recommend for all ages.
